A number of people have brought this up, so I think I should mention this: when making this video, I was aware that Jen is still an active soulbonder who has moved on to the Hannibal fandom, but I decided to cut off the video before that point for two reasons. First, my intention was not to talk about Jen, but rather the Final Fantasy House. Second, the video was already pushing 40 minutes, and to cover Jen's further activities would have easily sent it past the 1 hour mark. This would have made the production cycle prohibitively long and the video much less accessible, neither of which I was willing to allow. This does not, however rule out a video about Jen or Tattle-Crime in the future.
I hope you do consider making a part 2 of this saga! I will love to see how deep it goes!

People talk pretty unhealthily about neurodivergence a lot, and others rightfully pick them up on victimising people because they happen to think or behave differently. I think there's a lot of discussion to be had about where 'mental illness' and pity end and 'abuse' starts.
I think the line is just that: at the point where you 'being yourself' is abuse to others - destroying their property, controlling their lives, refusing to contribute or aid those around you - is the point where you can no longer claim you're just neurodivergent and should be treated with respect. There are people who are heavily autistic or have other 'disorders' who are perfectly capable of understanding and interacting with society, but society doesn't accept them because they act weird, or don't express themselves the way others do. Especially when things like therapy and medication clearly help you coexist with others without abuse, you can't claim to just 'think differently' and get a pass for abusive behaviour.
I suppose it's important for people to know this so they don't get sucked into codependent (or worse) relationships with people who try to co-opt messages of tolerance to get away with abuse. If someone in your life is hurting you like this, get out and get help.
Well said
I honestly hate when kin community weirdos blame this behavior or being heavily delusional on mental disability because it just makes everyone else look bad and gives people that treats them unfairly more ammo
Preacg
Oh of course I make a god damn typo
exactly! throughout the video i was thinking that these people (especially jen) seem like theyre possibly nd and mentally ill if they have these intense delusions, but consistently refusing help or fighting people who tell you that something’s wrong just shows that it’s turned into straight up abuse. i know several really nice & genuine people who have delusional attachments to characters, so its definitely not just the neurodivergence - the ppl in the vid were malicious as well. i really do hope that they eventually got some sort of help and stopped abusing/scamming people.
When I was young, I had a friend who's mother fell for a cult leader. She invited the guy over to our house one night and I remember him having the darkest vibe of anyone I've ever met. This is why I don't laugh at the fictionkin boom on tumblr. A lot of impressionable, often mentally ill kids, being told by adults sometimes twice their age that they knew each other in a past life or were lovers in a past life and need to date/move closer to each other/be loyal to each other? Yeah, this is where this shit leads. It's not all about the lulz, it's about abusing people under the guise of love and community. This is just one case. There are so, so many more.
I never found any of this kind of stuff to be funny. Interesting and mildly terrifying though? Absolutely.
This has a name nowadays- it's called grooming.
Wouldn't laughing at them be a kind of a solution to the problem? Kids do not want to be ridiculed, and it's probably the easiest way to get them to realize the people they are interacting with them are not good influence. On top of that it's actually kind of funny how ridiculous some of those communities get, and people tend to share funny things, making the victim more likely to see the message.
@@krpajda I don't think so, they won't realise you are laughing at them for making a fool of themselves but rather because you aren't special, smart or whatever to understand them. You'll most likely get a Sarah response "Lots of people cannot understand me because I have such high intellect it is beyond their grasp". Also I wouldn't be surprised if a lot of this stems from a desire to be unique and important, the fulfilment of that could overshadow the embarrassment of being ridiculed.
As someone who was abused at a very impressionable age under the guise of otherkin community? 100% agree. Though I feel like there isn’t anything /Inherently/ wrong with the concept of otherkin and connecting with fictional characters in that way there’s So much toxicity and manipulation from the online culture the community creates. The worst part is the fact that abusers can Much easier groom victims by telling a victim that they were important to eachother in their past life to convince them that there’s no need to establish boundaries or build trust before jumping into a serious relationship/friendship. Plus from my experience most people who id with otherkin are lgbt minors (like I was) so altogether a Very impressionable group of people who often seek out support from these online communities they might not be getting irl without realizing they could end up being taken advantage of
My ex told me about an irl encounter she had with Hojo and Jen. Fortunately, she was able to get away before they hurt her. I am floored that there is a whole rabbit hole saga about these people.
Your ex sounds really interesting bro 😭
@@enmunap we had a lot of fun
Just realised how ironic it is that the writer ran a page about cloud and Zak,since cloud thought he was Zak due to manipulation and trauma
I wonder if the person going by Jen realizes the irony of their choice of name. Jenova in the ff7 games is a villainous parasite from space who manipulates people and tries to destroy the world. Much like the villain, Jen seemingly is also a villainous parasite who manipulates people and tries to destroy their personal and social worlds.
Well then it isn't ironic. It's perfectly accurate.
My thoughts exactly. I couldn't help but wonder, how much of her behavior comes from subconsciously playing the part of Jenova? Did she choose Jenova to "bond" with in the first place because she was already an abusive, manipulative person and could relate, or did she become an abusive, manipulative person over time because that's just what she thinks Jenova would do in her situation?
There's only one way to find out. Track down this nut-job and find out firsthand. Oh, and don't forget to make a detailed account of whatever you experience for us. Thanks in advance
