Some thoughts to consider: 1) Oil heat blowing across your fuel tank - could be a real issue with fuel temperature. OEM's go to great pains to keep fuel tank heating to a minimum. 2) Not much cross sectional area for the oil cooler fan exit... for that giant high power engine (200+hp?), the heat your are going to need to reject is much more than stock engine. I would suspect 3 or 4X more area is needed. Comment also applies to fan area / flow. 3) Might be better to route return oil from pump to tank through the cooler- less pressure drop for main system - shorter hoses, less drama with thermostat - in general a better layout. My 2 cents take it for what its worth.
Any particular reason why you don't run the thermostat, oil cooler and filter on the scavenge side, like the old air cooled Porsches? I would think, especially on this type of vehicle, running all those external lines on the pressure feed side makes it more vulnerable to oil pressure issue damage.
Do you have a problem with oil running back and filling up in the engine if its sitting? I have oil cooler above transmission and this is a problem for me.
It sat for about a month and when I checked it last week it read a normal level on the dip stick. If you run it, however, then shut it down and check the oil it doesn't read on the dip stick. So drain back doesn't seem to be a problem.

Completely agree with you on this point.
Very cool stuff...thanks for the information...
