That’s your decision to make, though. 😁 And yes, you can connect the speaker wire directly to an AVR, but banana plugs are an option, if you so choose

Hi, if I wanted to extend the speaker wires what can I go for to attach to existing speaker wires..any suggestions pls .. i have the same klipsch from Costco
Just strip the speaker wire about an inch on the existing wire AND the additional wire, twist them together and protect that splicing either with one of those electrical twisty caps or even some electrical tape would work. 👍
Please could compare them with the Klipsch Reference Dolby Atmos Surround System (Item 7999044)? I am planning to buy either the 5.1.4 ciname or the reference Dolby Atmos (full Tower).
hi Osborne .... your videos are great and very informative. Great work Please do advice i've a dilemma buying Klipsch Reference Cinema Dolby Atoms 5.1.4 System for 450$ vs Polk XT60+XT15+XT30 ($684.68).(no sub for now) our Living Area is 12*19 and the between the 12 we have the TV and couch. Even couch takes 2 feet the TV and audience distance is 10 feet. the purpose of the speaker is 80% TV and 20% music. Have Denon AVR S760H 7.2ch 8K AV Receiver. And this is my first home theater attempt.
Hello Ealan.. I have a questions.. The Subwoofer support only 120V or it can be used in 220V also as I am from a 220V region. Thanks and waiting for the sound test.
Normally, yes, including this system. Most that I receive from companies are “review units” they purposely set apart and pass around to content creators like myself. 👍
I don't regret my purchase of the Costco Klipsch 5.0.2 system I bought with the Klipsch 12" subwoofer also from Costco but damn this is an awesome system. I don't think you can go wrong either way. I will say though the really nice thing about the 5.0.2 is that you got two R-625FA which retail on Klipsch website for $829 each in a box with 2 - R-625FA Tower Speakers 2 - R-41M Bookshelf Speakers 1 - R-52C Center Channel Speaker Speaker Wires Included - 95 Feet Total For the low low cost of 899 and for if you buy them in the store I've seen them as well as $699 but you better have a truck on an SUV for that box because boy oh boy is a big box.
Yeah, short answer is - you made the right decision. Still think the 5.0.2 package is such a killer deal. But the official head-to-head review I’ll go over why. 🤘
No, sorry. It doesn’t work like that. You could get a wireless transmitter for your rear speakers, though…something like this: Rocketfish Wireless Home Theater Rear Speaker Kit - Model: RF-WRSK18 www.amazon.com/dp/B07KSGYFX3/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_glt_fabc_72MT7XFHA57VZ7HXDC0C
This review made me select this over the reference 5.1 package. It was only a $100 difference from the 5.1 to the 5.1.4 ($365) during November deals on Adorma since Costco around me is not stocking anymore. Now to buy new speaker mounts since my old box system was more the size of the reference 5.1 satellite speakers.
No. The x3700h is a 9 channel receiver, so it’d power all the speakers on its own just fine. It can process up to 11 channels with the help of an external amp. 🤘
The satellites’ frequency response dips down to 90 Hz, according to the spec sheet. Rule of thumb is to set the crossover 10-20 Hz above that. The center speaker dips down to 80 Hz. So 100 Hz might be the sweet spot for the whole system. Although the height speaker response isn’t specifically listed, so a system-wide crossover of 120 Hz might even be better. It’s been awhile since I’ve had that system, so I’m just using my best judgement here. 😄🤘
You’re so quick man! Now I’m looking forward to your review of this pack, can you also compare it to the Reference Dolby Atmos 5.0.2 Surround System. They’re similar in price..will I be better off getting the mentioned system paired with a Klipsch SW12 Sub with a 7.2 receiver or this with a 9.2 receiver?
Honestly, if you have the space for towers, and don’t mind the bulkiness of them, towers all day. 🤘 I definitely want to put those 2 systems against each other, though since they’re so similar in price.
I went with the 5.0.2 system then got two 12 inch subs. Total came out to just over 1k with sale prices. I'm guessing the bigger system will be much better for larger rooms. Obviously. But for medium to small rooms it might be a bit closer. I'm wondering how well the two extra atmos speakers perform. Dont know if its going to make a huge difference.
Thanks guys for your quick response! I kind of expected that answer and so extremely excited for my first home theater system to be this. Just waiting for Black Friday now. Going to pair it with an LG C1 OLED TV And still undecided on a receiver under $1000.
Hi Ealan, great review. Can you confirm that the speaker wire that this comes with is in fact 16 gauge? If so I will buy some Monoprice 14 gauge to replace it, should be a little better.
I no longer am in possession of the system, but I do remember the speaker wire being very thin. So yes, I would go with your gut and get some 14 gauge Monoprice wire. 🤘
I'm glad i stumbled upon this great channel, nice content, i'm a novice in this home theatre system stuff, but your easy step by step guide is quite helpful I'm looking for a budget first home theatre set up, this Klipsch Reference Cinema seems to be highly promising, i i'll go for it, i love warm sound signature, full sounding bass, deep bass, i'm great lover of music(mostly Edm, Rap & all genres) i'll mostly be using this set up for mainly music & other things, its currently $360 on Amazon, what budget dolby atmos AVR according to my description above do you think is the best i should go for? Thanks!
I understand utilizing ALL 9 channels of the Klipsch Cinema system isn’t cheap, since 9 channel AVRs aren’t the cheapest. But for the time being - since you’re first getting into home theater - you could also get a 5 or 7 channel AVR and just not use 2 or all 4 of the upward firing speakers in that system (until you maybe get a 9 channel AVR down the road). Onkyo is killing it right now with great sales on Crutchfield. I’d recommend the brand new Onkyo TX-SR3100 for 5 channels, TX-NR5100 or 6100 for 7 channels, or perhaps even the TX-NR7100 if you want all 9 channels accounted for already, depending on your budget. 🙌🎉
Looking forward to your comparison of this to the 5.1 theater pack! The size comparison alone is mind boggling. I don't know how I feel about the upward firing Atmos though.
i remember when Klipsch was entirely us made, i still own my 4 kg's and strong as ever, can see that they are struggling financially that have to partnership with Cosco, now they are Chinese product, also remember that here in Houston to buy those speakers have to go at a reputable hi-end store alongside with hi-end equipment, not just anyone could afford them, i been inclining for mor quality dependable speaker like Miller & Kressler and SVS Subwoofers with excellent customer support and better much better quality products
As always I love your content. But I am shocked that nobody has pointed out that , the wood you have in the background cost more then both sets of speakers :P
Haha, thanks! And truth be told, it’s mostly my brother-in-law’s wood who has a tiny apartment in San Francisco and does most of his woodworking projects at our place. 😄
Ah I don't know if I told you. This last time we went to Costco yes they had the refrence pack and I touched them again. I'd love to hear them though. But any who I bought the Pro Media 2.1 anolaug Klipsch speaker system for PC. They are THX cert. So I don't get how the refrence Cinema 1s aren't. Well perhaps as the satolites are 10 Hz above. What are the speks subs must meet?
I’m not exactly sure what it takes to get THX certification. But it is a bit strange that Klipsch didn’t make it a point to get THX certification on all their budget-friendly packages. 🤷♂️
Yeah. Though Bose hasn't even tried either. So not surprised from that angle. The sub for these apparently goes to 32 Hz just like the cinema sub. But who really knows what these pro media speakers are based on. I like them though. It's just to bad they aren't USB. Or heck even tause link or coax. But USB would be better.
I bought the 'Klipsch Reference Dolby Atmos Surround system" and added the R-12SW, any word on if the rear/front speakers in the Cinema System will be available in pairs separately? They'd make an easy upgrade to 7.1.4
To utilize all the speakers and upward-firing drivers, yes, you will need a 9 channel receiver. But if you already have a 7 channel receiver, it will still do great only having the front speakers doing upward firing audio until you decide to upgrade to a 9 channel. 👍

But if you want to utilize all 4 of the upward firing height speakers, you need a 9 channel receiver - Onkyo 7100 is the cheapest (new) AVR right now, unless you find a good deal on a used one.
look nice, but it appears the 4 satellite speakers can not be wall mounted. That would prevent me from ordering these even though they look great.
They can be wall mounted. I point that out in the video, with their standard ¼” x 20 threaded inserts. 🙌 So there’s still hope! 😊
Ahhhh gotta wait to hear your thoughts on the sound!
Thanks for the review!
Btw thanks I love your videos. Great job
What are the Model numbers of undividual speakers and woofers. Ie is the 10 sub the R101-sw? Which sub do we look at for detailed specs
hi Osborne .... your videos are great and very informative. Great work
Please do advice
i've a dilemma buying Klipsch Reference Cinema Dolby Atoms 5.1.4 System for 450$ vs Polk XT60+XT15+XT30 ($684.68).(no sub for now)
our Living Area is 12*19 and the between the 12 we have the TV and couch.
I also have this same question!
Sad it looks like Costco stopped selling this kit.
I know, right? ‘Twas but a fleeting moment. Maybe didn’t sell as well as they thought it would. 🤷♂️
Sadly..NO included speaker stands if needed to be placed on the floor end to end if no console.
Gloves? Do you return them after filming content?
Normally, yes, including this system. Most that I receive from companies are “review units” they purposely set apart and pass around to content creators like myself. 👍
waiting to hear how do they sound testssszzzss lol
Thanks long awaited the speakers are damn big
Wow I’m not gonna lie, I did not expect them to be that big either!
Does this come with wall mounts. If not which ones would you recommend for the satellites?
Great video ! They have it on sale
Oooh been waiting for this one!
I don't regret my purchase of the Costco Klipsch 5.0.2 system I bought with the Klipsch 12" subwoofer also from Costco but damn this is an awesome system. I don't think you can go wrong either way. I will say though the really nice thing about the 5.0.2 is that you got two R-625FA which retail on Klipsch website for $829 each in a box with 2 - R-625FA Tower Speakers
2 - R-41M Bookshelf Speakers
1 - R-52C Center Channel Speaker
Speaker Wires Included - 95 Feet Total
For the low low cost of 899 and for if you buy them in the store I've seen them as well as $699 but you better have a truck on an SUV for that box because boy oh boy is a big box.
Yeah, short answer is - you made the right decision. Still think the 5.0.2 package is such a killer deal. But the official head-to-head review I’ll go over why. 🤘
Hi, can connect wisa device to the rear speakers to play them wirelessly?
No, sorry. It doesn’t work like that. You could get a wireless transmitter for your rear speakers, though…something like this:
Rocketfish Wireless Home Theater Rear Speaker Kit - Model: RF-WRSK18 www.amazon.com/dp/B07KSGYFX3/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_glt_fabc_72MT7XFHA57VZ7HXDC0C
@@ealanosborne okay, sound cool. Thanks Bro for your guidance. 👍🏼 I do a search wisa only works well for wisa certified speaker. Now I understand.
Awesome! I think you made the right choice. :)
Jesus Christ. I'm looking at the 5.1 theater pack here in Europe and the cheapest is $600.
Whats the difference between the cinema and the theater? Which is better?
Cinema is bigger (bigger speakers, bigger sub), has upward firing Atmos speakers, and can handle more power. 🤘
@@ealanosborne thank you.
This speakers system need extra amp for denon x3700?
No. The x3700h is a 9 channel receiver, so it’d power all the speakers on its own just fine. It can process up to 11 channels with the help of an external amp. 🤘
What would you say the best crossover settings for each speaker would be?
The satellites’ frequency response dips down to 90 Hz, according to the spec sheet. Rule of thumb is to set the crossover 10-20 Hz above that. The center speaker dips down to 80 Hz. So 100 Hz might be the sweet spot for the whole system. Although the height speaker response isn’t specifically listed, so a system-wide crossover of 120 Hz might even be better. It’s been awhile since I’ve had that system, so I’m just using my best judgement here. 😄🤘
Where I can buy this
Could you do a sound test video
I’ve actually narrowed it down to 2 options. What do you guys think, should I go with the
Denon AVR-X2700H or Marantz SR5014?
Hi Ealan, great review. Can you confirm that the speaker wire that this comes with is in fact 16 gauge? If so I will buy some Monoprice 14 gauge to replace it, should be a little better.
I no longer am in possession of the system, but I do remember the speaker wire being very thin. So yes, I would go with your gut and get some 14 gauge Monoprice wire. 🤘
Just bought one at Costco and the wires are 24 gauge, they look super thin. Does anybody have an opinion on that?
They do the job. But I used 14 gauge that I already had. Thicker and more durable. Just a personal preference.
I'm glad i stumbled upon this great channel, nice content, i'm a novice in this home theatre system stuff, but your easy step by step guide is quite helpful
I'm looking for a budget first home theatre set up, this Klipsch Reference Cinema seems to be highly promising, i i'll go for it, i love warm sound signature, full sounding bass, deep bass, i'm great lover of music(mostly Edm, Rap & all genres) i'll mostly be using this set up for mainly music & other things, its currently $360 on Amazon, what budget dolby atmos AVR according to my description above do you think is the best i should go for?
Great content as always, thanks
Looking forward to your comparison of this to the 5.1 theater pack! The size comparison alone is mind boggling. I don't know how I feel about the upward firing Atmos though.
does the supwoofer support 220V.?
i remember when Klipsch was entirely us made, i still own my 4 kg's and strong as ever, can see that they are struggling financially that have to partnership with Cosco, now they are Chinese product, also remember that here in Houston to buy those speakers have to go at a reputable hi-end store alongside with hi-end equipment, not just anyone could afford them, i been inclining for mor quality dependable speaker like Miller & Kressler and SVS Subwoofers with excellent customer support and better much better quality products
I hear ya, man. Times have definitely changed trying to keep up with demand, price of parts, and their overall bottom line. 🤷♂️
Hi can u share the box dimensions and total weight .for shipping purpose abroad. Appreciate ur response. Nice video .
H: 44 inches
W: 21 inches
D: 17.5 inches
89 pounds 👍
Great video
I'm crushed. I just got the r51m, r41m and I went with the Sony dobly atmos speakers because the klipsch was really expensive.
I bought the 'Klipsch Reference Dolby Atmos Surround system" and added the R-12SW, any word on if the rear/front speakers in the Cinema System will be available in pairs separately? They'd make an easy upgrade to 7.1.4
No word yet, but I agree on making it an easy 7.1.4 setup that way. 🤘
Awesome video
Should i need 9 channel AV receiver for this setup? or My 7 channel should work? Thanks.
To utilize all the speakers and upward-firing drivers, yes, you will need a 9 channel receiver. But if you already have a 7 channel receiver, it will still do great only having the front speakers doing upward firing audio until you decide to upgrade to a 9 channel. 👍
I remember it has a 9.2 channel receiver
This speaker system would require a 9-channel AVR to power all the speakers, correct.
@@ealanosborne I see this after I bought 7.2 Could you connect 2 to the same outlet?
I’m trying to pair the new Costco Denon s760h with one of these sets for console gaming in a small bedroom Is it possible to get dissent sound out of it?
Absolutely. In a small bedroom it might even be a little too much with that subwoofer. But if going big is your thing, do it. 😄
@@ealanosborne thank you so maybe that smaller set would be more appropriate?
@@2104T34 for a small bedroom, yeah (the Reference Theater Pack). Even that subwoofer still produces some big sound! And the little satellite speakers sound bigger than they look!
I need your help, from costco I got the both which is one best 5.1 or 5.1.4? Please help me
5.1.4 is the slightly better/bigger sibling, so I'd stick with that. :)
@@ealanosborne it's very heavy and I am buying yamaha v6a receiver. Adorama 5.1 selling 299 and costco 5.1.4 selling 499 which one should I get please suggest me
@@ealanosborne I am looking your comparison video please give me the link
@@insuhomes I didn't compare the 5.1 vs 5.1.4, but if you have an apartment, go with the 5.1. If you're living in a home, go with the 5.1.4. But overall, the 5.1.4 is a bit bigger and better.
