- After all the news that @Indian_Motorcycle wanted to close dealers and then go directly to the customer.. I wanted to reach out to Indian Motorcycle for an Official Response!
Also it came to light the biggest issue going around was the AI made videos that are junk and don't help anyone!

I can't count how many times I've been clicking off these AI generated lists. Cars, bikes, firearms, sports, computers and other tech vids.
As soon as I hear those 'voices', I'm done most of the time.
Of course, if they get the voices to sound human, maybe they'll have to put a disclaimer on the vids, like with accepting cookies?
It's also great with the AI generated lists that never match what's on the videos, but with the commenters complaining about it, I guess we're actually making them more money.

I have ordered Snowmobiles online.. It's called Snow Check .. I get a certain price. The sled is shipped to the Dealer who uncrates it and sets it up. I long for the Days when you could buy a motorcycle in a Crate for about $200.00 Less say in the 1980's
I worked for a service provider in North London. With 38 service engineers, , there was about 12 office staff, to remain competitive, they outsourced contact to our customers, to a call centre in Ireland. During covid Pandemic, everyone worked from home. So the boss soon realised he could save a packet, by having no office, as a permanent arrangement. Now all our competitors, do the same. Business is business..!! And eventually, yes, all motorcycles will be delivered direct to you. In a flat pack probably.. best wishes

My guy!! what i really found interesting is when i found the same video about D2C for both HD and IMC and the layout was so similar haha The algorithm loved their channel though!! I need to work on thumbnails!!
I bought my last Harley (used) from an Indian dealer as they were great to deal with compared to any metro Detroit Harley dealership I tried to shop at. IMO, the metro Detroit HD dealers are desperate, pressuring, and overcharging in order to cover their massive floorplans and new, HD corporate pushed, over the top dealer facilities.
I remember when there was a small dealership in a large town back in the 70's. They might have had a dozen bikes in there. Now the town has nearly doubled in size and there is a big box dealership with must be 50 bikes in there, many used, but I didn't see any customers. The old shop back in the 70's the one with the small building had lots of customers. You always saw a customer in there, back then.

I hope it's a huge success and then you open a second in Dayton, OH. We use to have a Victory Dealership that sold me on that brand, now we need an Indian dealership and not have to go to Columbus, Indy or Northern Kentucky

Good stuff. Specialized, Giant, and Trek bicycles all experimented with this route a number of years back and the bike shops ended up staying and they mostly just supplemented those with their own company owned bike shops. When it comes to bikes and motorcycles, most people want hands on experience before they spend thousands of dollars plain and simple.

According to my friends at the local HD dealer. DTC models of operations are absolutely real. It is also no secret that Ford and others are doing the same thing.
Ill hit up a few friends i have in the HD world but as for now Indian Motorcycles says they have no plan on going away from their dealers

Good video and information shared. I've clicked on a couple of those AI generated content videos. Within seconds, I knew it AI generated crap. Unfortunately just clicking and watching a few seconds helps them. Even a dislike helps their numbers.

Thank you! This year I’ve jumped all in with Indian. We bought a 2020 Challenger and a 2018 Chieftain Limited. I love both bikes and rarely drive a car now. THANKS for clearing this up.. Reminds me of what a RUMOR can do.... Remember High School?? Personally I don't do direct to Customer. WHY? When I purchase a vehicle I seat in it for 45 minutes minimum. I check ergonomics etc... On a bike I try for an hour!! 1 time I sat on a Suzuki M109 for 1 hour exact. Both hands on bars etc... Had a customer come up to me and touched my shoulder, when I turned my head towards him I think he filled his jeans... That was in 2006 I think? What would be COOL and I mentioned this to a Polaris Rep. Have the customer order the bike either online or @ Dealer w/ options paint etc... When it arrives @ the Dealer the Indian branded aftermarket parts are on the bike. Ok Take Care..

Yeah, that video really messed me up. I think the direct customer could work. But only with the partnership with the dealers for service and support. I really appreciate that. You have a primary source that gave you good information. Thanks riding fish.

To dealerships home by the same person in Florida are closing. Stus in Fort Myers is already closed and Stus in Fort Lauderdale will be closing their doors today.

That Indian wants to do away with the iconic Indian headdress. I own an older Chief, and have a small amount of Indian blood in me. That Indian headdress symbol is the happiest part of my Indian. The entire brand would become meaningless to my heritage without that important aspect of the company. Let me know, please, what your sources have to say. Please let them hear my thoughts as an Indian Chief owner, and I hear others stating thoughts to leave the company if it occurs. 😢 thank you for this interesting AI issue too.

I only got half way through your video and stopped there. In the early part of it I thought to myself that the information you were describing had come from an AI source. I feel that RUclips should be taking this crap down as this is supposed to be social media and there is not one thing about an AI produced video that is social. I stumbled upon one last week that had said how some of the M/C major players were going broke and much of it seemed purely made up so I started checking into the source for Motorcycle Central and it did not take me long to find out they are fake. If RUclips does not act fast on this it will alienate a large amount of viewer's who do not want to take the time to check the backgrounds of the content they are watching.

The Motorcycle Central stuff is absolutely worthless. Watched about 10 seconds of one, and knew it was completely fabricated. Harley Davidson and Indian should sue the owners of Motorcycle Central for slander.

I saw a video talking about how electric bikes are popular ... that must be fake too because I've never seen one on the road.
I'm not sure if it's true but didn't Livewire only sell like 100 bikes?? But I know zero moves a good amount. And electric bicycles seem do be moving well (super 73s?)
@@Ridingfish Zero may move a good amount of bikes , as you say, but I personally have never seen one on the streets... maybe they sell in other countries but I question their popularity here in the states.
I've been to a few rallies this year & have yet to see any electric bikes that weren't dealer displayed.
I always give a thumbs down to the fake sites.

Thought it might be false but it did bring up some questions. I did ask Throttle Blip where he got the statement from but no reply. I then sent a message to Polaris Corporate letting them know because if true it would be damaging if false & not put to bed quickly it could have been devastating. I am glad its false but Polaris need to increase the dealership reach here in the UK or at least get some approved service centres going to get anywhere near the reach HD have. There are about 20 Indian Dealers in the UK but only around 26 HD but there are probably more than 26 workshops that will work on a Harley & I would be surprised if there were more than 2 or 3 that will work on Indian. If you have an issue with service you have no where else to go. I have to go over 6 hours away!! But I love my Indians, thank you Fred hope to see you at IBW in 2024.

I don’t need a video to convince me Indian is not going to be around long term. I’ll I need to see is Indians dealer network has never expanded since Polaris purchased the name. They have steadily decreased. There was three in my area a couple years ago now I would have to go to another state to find one. Harley has at least seven within 50 miles and they all do great. I just don’t know how Indian can survive if they can’t get enough people excited about their products to get people willing to invest in wanting to build dealerships.

@@Ridingfish yeah, I watched a few mins of the HD video a few weeks ago and it had similar context to this one. I don't see Indian going anywhere or HD. Yes sales are down but this government has the economy so f'd up, it's hard to dish out 20k+ on something you don't drive everyday.

LOL could you imagine, you come home from work and there's a giant crate on your driveway that say POLARIS on it.... now what do you do, uncrate it yourself and assemble it your self, then some knuckle head somewhere assembles it wrong goes out crashes then Sue's Polaris, or damages it trying to install the handlebars and makes a claim for it. No dealers? Where do I get warranty work done or accessories installed? I would've never fell for that.
