I’m a Harley tech for over 20 years now and trust me when I tell you Harley has major design flaws. Harleys major design flaw is the single pin crank that is pressed together and is prone to failure by the flywheels twisting or pinching on the rods. I have studied the Indian 111 now a 116 and the water cooled challenger and they are way better engineered! All that being said please don’t stop buying Harleys because I need a job and Harleys breaking down keeping me employed! If all I had to work on were Indians I wouldn’t have a job because they are super reliable and I’d just be sitting around like the Maytag man.
Thank you. I ride an Indian Roadmaster 111 and absolutely love this bike. Wish I could post a photo for you... thanks for standing up and speaking your truth. So glad to know I made a good decision when I elected to purchase this bike rather than a Harley.
@@onerider808xl evo sportster was the most reliable Harley in the lineup. I only had to rebuild 2 in all the years I’ve been working on them. The evo engine in your 93 fxr still has a press together crank but it’s a better design than the twin cam or the m-8. The evo crank pin is tapered therefore holding it press fit better than the straight press fit crank pins on modern Harley. Evo engines are very reliable and simple.
The Indian dealership where I bought my Scout gave me all kinds of swag (including a shirt), played my song of choice over the speakers, and revved a few motorcycles in the showroom while I rang a bell. It was pretty awesome. He completely failed to mention the Indian Motorcycle Riders Group (Indian's version of HOG). Lastly, I don't know where he bought his motorcycles or compared prices but my Scout was a better value than anything comparable that Harley had. I'm pretty sure he just did this video to get views and comments. Well, it worked.
Now he’s telling you they suck. 🤦🏽♂️ and he’s riding one I think. 🤦🏽♂️. Love my scout. Going for the bagger next summer. Harley stands for hardly working & running. And a lot of throttle play. Don’t care what Harley you got!!
@@IsmailiaSix It is ok when you work harder and apply yourself more you can quit telling yourself you love your fake Indian. Including today because those aren't Indians my man Indians ceased to exist in 1953. The "Indians" are a plastic facsimile of Harleys for guys who have to go around the internet and tell you why their Indians are so amazing. They just aren't. They could be better than your old lady at ATM, blow dollar bills out the exhaust and I still wouldn't be seen on one of those lady bikes. I hate the Indian scout. By no means am I a Harley fan boy. Yes I have a 2017 HD breakout but I’m not biased. I actually want a challenger dark horse in the near future. That being said, my friend bought a scout bobber and sold it within 6 months. wait until you have to change a battery. Also you can’t jumpstart a scout. suspension is garbage as well and the seat is terrible.

I'm actually confused with this video. I fully support critiquing indian because that's how you end up with a better product at the end of the day.... but alot of this video was just points that were not true at all or straight opinions that come from a harley salesman
Thats kinda what this video series is about. You can't think too much into it, theres a video for every brand and why it sucks, with just fun or arbitrary points not meant to be taken seriously. Just fun content to meme about.
Also, the Challenger comes with leds all the way around, remote locking saddle bags and 3 rider modes for the same price as the basic roadglide. Win Indian.
If my Harley ever starts leaking coolant, something is horribly, horribly wrong. Oil, sure. Fuel, maybe. But if coolant ever comes out of my very air-cooled Harley, I will have some questions.
@@jeckwhite9099 yep, and everything else started making the switch in 2014. I was just talking about mine specifically, which is not a vrod, and is an older model.
An an Indian owner, I came with the mindset that we all have to laugh at ourselves once in a while. I get the spirit of the video but I couldn't help but notice a lot of these talking points are not accurate. The Chief is solo but the cruiser class also has the Vintage which is equipped for a pillion. The Challenger starts at $21,999 whereas the top-of-the-line Limited and Dark Horse models start at $27,999. This is similar between HD's standard and Special models. The Challenger has a 108 and not a 106. Despite it having the smallest engine of the big Indians, it is unquestionably the most powerful. Just a little more time on the Googles would have paid dividends here.
This kid is a douche, 42 years on HD and I bought a Roadmaster. Everything I wanted, but my 49 pan has owned me for 36 plus years and its still the best.
Despite some valid points, there is so much bias in this video it makes me feel sad for its maker. In 2021 I'd rather ride a Chieftain of a Challenger than their H-D counterparts and I'm running a Harley Custom bike shop... At the end of the day test ride both, get the one you like the most, whatever the reason, period...
The only way they "breakdown" is not being ridden but my God are they willing to come back to life for more! (Picked up a 75 that sat for 20 years, thing was seized but came back with some work by a rather inexperienced backyard mechanic....me)
"Harley set the standard." So did Ford but much better brands followed. Harley's issues created the Japanese motorcycle industry. I rode a Yamaha 1100 in the 70's and 80's while my friends all rode Harleys. I spent so many hours sunning myself on the side of a highway watching them trying to get their bikes to run or trying to find the part that fell off. Just about every Harley "innovation" came about 10 years after it was on a Japanese or European bike, so they have no right to get condescending. Harleys are the beautiful blonde you marry that can't cook, clean, work or f__k.
But just think of all the guys that were inspired to become Bike mechanics!! If bikes never broke down, there would be no need for bike mechanics. Bikes would be disposable n no improvements would be developed. That's why there are tons of aftermarket parts available for Harley's. They can be improved, and made to go faster, if that's your thing. The ground is just as hard at 50mph as it is at 200mph... 🧐
@@kacowboy there are kits to put hydraulic clutches on any bike over 250 cc,i've seen em,,you can even put a draw thru turbo charger on engines down to 50cc,the 21st century is going to kill the gasoline engine motorcycle, but it will have no effect on mine,as i will raise the compression and burn whisky
As an actual Indian owner I was actually interested to see this video, but so much is really wrong in this video that it wasn’t even an interesting watch. And that has nothing to do with indian or Harley, just not even getting facts right or conveniently leaving out facts. Like not even mentioning that the challenger is water cooled, only focusing on the displacement. Or forgetting that indian has offered “cruiser” options but people opt to buy the ones with the bags(since it’s the same bike underneath and you can take the bags off and have you’re cruiser whenever you want) so they’ve stopped offering the stripped down versions(though yea they do need a more middle weight option). And forgetting that the vintage darkhorse was just a Chief darkhorse last year, so now you get the bags with it, instead focused on what you don’t get from a different model(the vintage started as just a Chief with a couple extras added, vintage darkhorse did the same thing). Also specifically knocking the vintage darkhorse for not having passenger seat(while showing one with a passenger seat) even though the Harley deluxe doesn’t come with a passenger seat nor does the electraglide standard(both of which are also “only” a 107 for barely less than the vintage darkhorse). And to even start with Indians prices while never mentioning harleys CVO is just ridiculous(and if you’re comparing top trims that would be the comparison, you even say fanciest version then don’t use the fanciest version because it would make Harley look stupid). And again never mentioning that the challengers 106(which is actually a 108 not 106 as stated here) is a water cooled engine just comparing displacement. And not mentioning that the reason Harley aftermarket is so large and you can build a sportster at home is because their bikes haven’t really changed in decades. That’s not really a good thing. Plus the challenger has barely been out a year, of course there’s not going to be much aftermarket for it. And from experience riding with harleys, nobody mistakes my indian for a Harley and every ride people ignore the harleys and praise the indian. If anything every Harley looks exactly alike so nobody cares anymore. Can’t even remember the last time I saw a Harley that wasn’t white or black out on the road. I like both brands and enjoy the banter between them, but this video just didn’t do either side justice really. To me just made Harley owners look worse. Trying to trump harley up by leaving out facts from both sides and misleading/wrong information. Most of this is just conjecture and bias. If you’re going to make a video like this at least make it worth it. Again, I enjoy the banter from both sides of it, so this isn’t just an Indian owner being biased(unlike this video clearly being a Harley owner being biased). Just get all the facts and get them right before just picking and choosing what makes Harley sound better. Then go ahead and make a video about indian sucking. If you do it right I’ll enjoy it even with being an Indian owner. But this wasn’t enjoyable.
You can keep all of that fisher price chrome, and all of that crappy plastic. You can keep all of the rusty parts too. Every bike is overpriced, but Indian wants way too much money for these crappy bikes.
I had a 2015 Chieftain until recently and every where I went I got complements. On a group ride a few years ago my IMRG chapter pulled into a bar and grill as we were dismounting our bike a group of Harley riders across the street pulled out their cell phones and started taking pictures. Each one of the Indian motorcycle looked different. Most of the Harleys were black and looked very much the same. Loved the Indian so much I just purchased a 2021 Roadmaster, and love it. Its a head turner too.
So basically what you said in 11:30 minutes is that Indian sucks because when you brake down you need to go farther and Harley's break down so much they have many dealers. There are so many aftermarket parts because people don't like the looks of them so they have to spend thousands more just to like what they own. They have to have a club to make them feel better about their purchase lol. good video just you can tell you a bias for Harley, I have owned a Street glide and now own a darkhorse challenger and can not be happier with the bike. And a crucial part you left out of your rant is you get more on an Indian for their price, whereas the base model Harley comes with nothing.

7. H-D’s cruiser/softail line up is 11 versions of the same bike. Second, Challenger has a 108, not a 106, and it is water cooled which is why it is smaller. Puts out more power than H-D’s largest stock motor (117)(yes I’ve ridden both) 6. It actually starts at $23K. The road glide will scrape earlier than the Challenger. H-D does not include the electronics, but will gladly sell them to you for $2K. Challenger has higher wattage sound system with more clarity. There’s no way you did any research before this edgy nonsensical video. 5. Bought or sold, a brand is a brand. H-D would have died twice if no one took pity on them. 4. H-D Storefront and buying experience truly is pretty sweet. But then again, they sell “incomplete” bikes, so they need to soften up customers to make sure they come back and buy those accessories and better handlebars. 3. Literally no other manufacturer has (or needs) the aftermarket/factory part support of a Harley. Again, it’s because they always leave “something missing” on every model. 2. This argument gets old and is baseless. Cue list of bike manufacturers that don’t have immediate dealer support in every city in every state (sorry moto guzzi). 1. My niece thinks every sports car is a Lamborghini and every sports bike is a gixxer. What’s your point. 99 percent of unbiased riders taking a blind test of both brands will pick the Indian after their spine bottoms out, they don’t find the adjustable windshield switch, don’t find the saddlebag lock button, and have to go back to the H-D dealer because they didn’t pay for the Apple CarPlay “module”.
Yup, having recently made the choice to buy Indian these were my thoughts exactly. Knowing Yami I assume most of what he says is sarcasm but if he meant it, you points are exactly correct

I wish Harley came in mens sizes. Instead of that short little wheelbase. If your over 6 feet you’ll end up sitting on the tank. If you have a passenger it’s really cramped…
I bought a new 1994 Harley FLSTN and rode it for 20 years, I had many service issues with it, but fortunately my son was a Harley mechanic and took care of them for me. The engine gave out at 100,000 miles. My son put a new engine in for me. I took a demo ride on a 2014 Indian Chieftain and loved the ride & power. I gave the Harley to my son and bought the Chieftain and have added the 2 stage exhaust, air cleaner and cams. It is the best riding bike I have ever ridden and the power is hot. I had my Harley up to 100 mph and seen other Harley’s at similar speed and it looks very scary and feels scary feeling the suspension getting a speed wobble. I have had my Indian up to 140 mph and it feels & rides stable and smooth. I am 78 years old tomorrow and still riding.
You are the first person that created a post that addresses the reliability question between the two bikes. I would guess that Indian would try to outsell harkey davidson by creating a slightly more reliable bike.
I jumped to Indian from HD. Never really had any issues with my HD’s. My Challenger has been in the shop 5 times in one year. Still has some “phantom” issues. Not really happy, but taking such a big loss in trade isn’t feasible. And just a side note, the Challenger starts to shut down @ 114.

I actually just bought a Triumph from a HD/Triumph dealership solely because the experience at the dealership was better. I was originally buying a kawasaki z650 but the salespeople were absolute tools so I decided to go with the Triumph instead. I understand not everyone is going to have the same bike purchasing experience but for me I just bought from the salesman who treated me better.
Just bought a 2021 indian springfield darkhorse sagebrush smoke with only 1500 miles (previous owner could not ride anymore because of lower back surgery) and I am in love with it, and this is from someone who has ridden sportbikes since 2011. It's incredibly comfortable and fast enough to get by any traffic situation or on the highway. Saving up to get the stage 1 camshaft set and forward intake with tune installed somewhere next month or the next. It doesn't matter what you ride as long as you enjoy it
My sister got a 2019 Indian Springfield Dark Horse and 2 weeks later they gave her a 16"×30" mirror plaque with her name and a picture of her bike and date of purchase and other info. Also a leather Indian toolbag AND a t-shirt. No Harley buyer ever got that. Plus the bike is sexier, faster, smoother, and more unique than the equivalent Harley, if it existed.
I picked up a scout bobber and about a month or so later a package arrived full of stickers, pins, a shirt, and a canvas backpack. It was a nice and unexpected surprise.
You don't say the bike is faster because the Harley Davidson Road King Special has 100 horsepower but the Springfield Dark Horse is rated at 92 horsepower. No beef, both are great bikes but you can't say that the Springfield is faster. It may be at par in terms of performance.
I got a bookbag, a leather patch, a scout owner patch, a tshirt, an imrg patch and pin. My second indian I got 3 facemasks, sanitizer, sunscreen, tshirt, koozie, pen, 2 keychains, and a bunch of other trinkets from the dealer. Haven't got my second box yet though
Pathetic. I’ve tested every single Indian and Victory in production as a former employee of Polaris. (I’m now an RN) I’ve tested many Harleys for direct comparison as well model for model. Not demo days, not hours, not days but months of test riding. Since 2014 HD been changing their depends trying to figure out how to keep up. Features, overall dependability, comfort, performance, bang for the buck are all there on the Indian showroom floor. If you’re going to shill for HD then just say it. I’m open about being an Indian guy as overall Indian makes a better motorcycle. Yeah Indian may not TOTALLY have the name and expansive apparel selection of HD, but the bikes speak for themselves. I used to be more diplomatic about this but I’m not in the industry anymore. My greatest enjoyment during my time in the business was when a Harley rider would trade in his Harley for an Indian. I don’t give a damn about a name. I approach it from a scientific perspective. If you want an overpriced name, underperforming bike by all means go Harley. If you want better performance, better balance and better price go indian.
I’ve owned 3 HDs and can’t wait to try a Challenger. Love HD; but tired of the over-priced association (because “HD”) and the stupid little problems that are outrageou$ to fix.
Any company that would wrap a driveshaft in a piece of rubber and call it a carrier bearing doesn’t deserve to be in business. I’ll never own a Polaris product.
Ha! So far I have own 8 HD's. I use to own a Victory Cross Country and a Victory Judge. Nice bikes and very solid engine until Polaris kill the brand to focus on the Indian brand. Once they kill the Victory brand I trade both Victorys for two Harleys. Never again buying a Polaris product. Wait until they kill the Indian brand. Polaris just bought the Indian name/brand. The bikes are not really Indian Motorcycle like the original brand that die in 1953. They just make the engine to look like the original Indian bikes. No warranty they will not kill the brand. Harley-Davidson has been Harley-Davidson since 1903. You get an HD and pay high dollar because of the name and legendary tradition. Is as American as Apple pie. If I want cheap and reliable I will get me a Jap bike but it will never have the appeal of the HD brand.

Easy there on the “showing individuality by looking like everybody else”. Although that is true to an extent with Harley riders, BMW riders are in a class by themselves on that one and own that award. And some may say the same with the crotch rocket riders in all their race gear (although most have never scrubbed a foot peg). The certain “look” just goes with certain styles. I don’t really know which one is better though. If the Harley has a 114 the challenger is more power and speed for sure. But in the end they will both be big baggers anyway... sport bike still gonna slap I found it challenger is 103hp/113tq the wheel
@@snakeoil2182 Indian makes the 116. He's saying their smaller engine is actually more powerful than their biggest engine. The point being that displacement is not relevant in that argument. *Other brand makes more powerful cruiser than Harley* Harley people: "Nobody cares about power in cruisers" *Harley makes obscenely large and expensive crate motor* Harley people: "HAHA! TAKE THAT!"
@@aircooledgaming In all fairness, power doesn't matter in cruisers. Torque does. I like that Harley has put out a big bore engine, but if you want real performance from your Harley there's only one place to go and that's aftermarket. The 131 is an overpriced motor that underperforms so you can keep your factory warranty and keeps the EPA happy. Get it tuned properly, and it runs cleaner, and more fuel efficient. I just don't get how the government gets important things so wrong. EPA controlled engines use more fuel, and pollute more than engines with a good tune. DOT helmets don't do shit to protect your noggin. You want a good helmet look for ECE or SNELL.
The reason you enjoy the showroom experience of buying a Harley is because after you purchase one that’s where you’ll spend 95% of your time with the bike, the other 5% will be riding there! Also how you can ignore the premium mechanical extras on a challenger vs a road glide and then say you get more for less with Harley is just moronic. The reason I didn't go with anything American is really just for 2 reasons 1) they're RIDICULOUSLY expensive. How do American motorcycle brands expect to get to get any kind of new brand loyalists when their bikes are so expensive? 2) is there a single bike they make that isn't a cruiser? I started off with a rebel 250, and you can hardly call that a cruiser for someone my size. After trying some boulevards, I decided cruisers aren't for me. Don't get me wrong, I love the vintage look, but I want to feel sporty on a motorcycle. Not like I'm on a recliner going 70mph.
Yeah this video is extremely lazy in general, poor quality stuff coming from this channel lately in SPITE of it being called "Yammie Noob" (see what I did there?)
In his defense, he was talking specifically about the Darkhorse. You have to order the regular Vintage seat separately and install it yourself, or the dealer would probably do it for you.
I recently met an old man in his early 70s. He's a Goldwing man now, and all he said to me was "Take this lesson from me, because I wasted many years of my life riding Harleys"
"Indians just don't look as good as Harleys" I dunno, I'm not a cruiser guy but imo the visual lines on literally any of Indian's offerings flow way smoother and nicer than any Harley I've ever seen (I especially like the Scout and the Vintage). Not to mention the FTR which looks cool as hell and doesn't really have a rival on Harley's end.
Yeah, many of the points seem either valid (dealer network and part availability) or kinda weak, but the aesthetics point is bullshit and completely subjective. I own a Sportster, I like my Sportster, but *NOTHING* in the Harley catalog looks anywhere near as good as the Polaris Indian line. The Challenger has some odd visual elements that look too modern for a more retro styled line, but holy crap do the rest of their bikes look fantastic. They're just better looking machines, IMO. And FFS, nobody buys an Indian if they're yearning for a Harley. They cost roughly the same. You buy an Indian if you like a Harley-like bike but aren't as sold on the styling or find the whole Harley culture off-putting. Used Harleys are way cheaper. You have to buy near-new for the Indians, so if you're actually buying one, it's sure as hell not from Harley jealousy.
@@packgrog We own Harleys but imo an Indian Chief has the most beautiful lines. I've adored them since the first time I saw one which was in the early 90's, while in my late teens.
I loved the classic art deco lines of the early Indians, but Indian seems content on discontinuing that look in favor of a knock off Harley look, they already got rid of the original Chieftain design, the Chief (!?!?), and the regular Vintage. Only the Dark horse Vintage (both the regular Dark Horse (Chief) and regular Vintage have been discontinued), Springfield classic, and Roadmaster Classic, still have that look. Roadmaster is next to be dropped for sure, now they introduced the new style Harley Wannabe Roadmaster.
I agree. To me different Harley models just seem to be different combinations of parts on essentially just 2 basic bikes. Traditional with a conventional pair of shocks and soft tails where an attempt is made to emulate a hard tail with a suspended rear frame section. Then it's like full or minimal blade type front fender. Mags or conventional spoked wheels., handle bars. Honestly though, when i look at the bikes; Harley's all look alike to me and it's far from a look on equal with the old hard tail classic knuckle head.
@Car&Track7 I've ridden a good few Indian bikes, and I have to say that I disagree. More than that, when you compare them to harley until just a couple weeks ago, the performance to price was untouchable. Also, mechanically they are more sound. Post-PanAmerican(dirtglide) this may not be true, but at the time this video was released it absolutely was. The dirt glide may change harleys outlook a bit though.
@Car&Track7 Pure bullshit. The only thing I've had to do to my 2016 Scout is fork seals. My Harley riding friends have spent way more on maintenance and paid more to buy their bikes.
Funny, I went riding with my uncle who rides a HD Breakout. He's spent big $ on customisation. We stopped for lunch and everyone who walked past was admiring my scout bobber.

Also starts talking about the Indian not having passenger seat when they show the bike with a seat and foot boards. Then start talking about harley accessories while showing a Honda Shadow 🤦 YN needs some new editors lol
And when showing the dash he showed the Street glide and not the road glide he had been showing. Every time I watch one of his videos it just confirms why I don't subscribe...
Apparently Indian dismisses him. The Indians are light years ahead of Harley. And he got all the prices wrong. He must be begging them for sponsorship and they dismiss him What a joke. By the way I ride an 2019 Indian Scout. It has 20 more hp and 14 ft/lbs of torque than the Harley Fat Bob. It has ABS, electronic fuel inject, better brakes, weighs 120 lbs less and is liquid cooled so you don't cook your legs. And it is $6000 cheaper than a similarly equipped Harley. This guy can't get it correct to save his butt.
I have a chief dark horse and a springfield darkhorse, both of which outperform any harley cruiser stock to stock, you have to dump money into harley to get them to indians level haha
If you are going to review a company you should at least have one clip of you riding their products. I dont have a whole lot of experience with a ton of motorcycles but if I had the platform that you do I would make a way better effort to actually review the bikes you are trash talking and not just make vague accusations about the brand as a whole.
It is clear you love and only see Harley, but your very wrong about Indian bike it's faster, nicer, and has everything with the price sale. I don't understand paying all that money Harley wants and still have to add stuff to make it faster. Harley does corner the market with part changes and the bikes done right really nice looking but they have been around second to Indian, and should be first to no one.
Indian classifies the Springfield as a bagger technically. But I would say it's a cruiser as well. Not that it matter noob is an idiot and just trying to get the clicks.
@@4tech69 the funny thing is the only difference between the chief and the springfield is the rake and the springfield comes with the 116. And stock bags but those bags fit on the chief and the 116 can be swapped into the chief as well
He left a LOT of relevant details out. Especially on the Challenger, that bike obliterates any Harley out there (except the Vrod) and he expressly picked the most expensive trim model.
F9 actually just had a good video going in depth about why the scout makes so much more power than the sporster, and its a noticeable difference, I've owned both
Stopped at my local Indian dealer today to check out the Challenger and Chieftain Dark Horse. Gorgeous bikes. And I was amazed by how many used Harley's they had for sale. That is saying something.
Well now I'm really leaning Indian for my next bike. This video, and all it's pretentions, are the exact reason most motorcyclists can't stand Harley bros. Get over yourselves, no one thinks your bikes are any cooler than a Indian...or for that matter anything Japanese or European. And for the record....if it wasn't for posers HD would be out of business. Indians are the anti-poser alternative for those who want an American bike without all the drama and baggage associated with the HD brand and all it's vest-wearing non conforming conformists.
I don't know now what to choose between the Harley, The Indian and the Ridge wallet. Right, the Ridge has no pillion and you loose some chrome, but what the heck
And if it wasn't for Trump, I'd be a Harley owner. Won't forget Milwaukee HD cancelling Trump's visit as they surrendered to the woke mob threatening protests; Wrote HD off and went Indian.
Sorry, but the Indian motorcycles look a thousand times more sexy than anything H-D spews out. Soon as I can buy a Scout, I’ll be in there. Plus it shits me up the wall that H-D don’t seem to have a configurator available on their site, Indian does. I could spend hours on Indian’s 360° interactive configurator.
You can talk about heritage, amount of options, dealership experience etc etc but at the end of the day Indian are making slightly better motorcycles at the moment. Plus I’d buy a FDR 1200 over anything with a Harley badge
@Tyler Staton Dealership experience is a stupid reason to buy or not buy a specific bike. If a dealer doesn't treat you right, you don't switch bikes, you switch dealers. If the bike sucks, you switch bikes. There are plenty Harley dealers that suck, and there are plenty of Indian dealers that suck, but there are also excellent dealers for both brands.
@Tyler Staton i have never ridden a fdr1200 because I'm 6'3 and no interest in that type of bike. I like Indian and harley but was looking at Ultra's and RM. After going back and forth i went with harley for it's huge aftermarket and since i wasn't buying brand new there wasn't alot of selection on used RM near me. Hell there's only one indian dealership in the whole state but is in the city i live in but have 3 harley dealership's with in 25 miles of my house. I think their both decent bikes and if your happy with your indian thats all that matters. If i was looking to buy that style of bike I'd pick the indian over a sporty too.
The point about the dealer network is hard to argue against. Harley sells a lot more bikes and so the only way Indian's dealer network will expand is through increased sales.
Harley's don't come with LED lighting, or remote locking saddle bags, or adjustable height windshields, and for the same price, they make considerably less power.
Do you even know the difference in a road glide and street glide? Not according to the pics and things you said. Why the hate on cruisers ? Ride what you want to ride, wear what you wanna wear, buy what you wanna buy. Wish I hadn’t wasted my time watching.
At 5:20, those are two different models. The Harley is the Street Glide and the Indian is the Challenger. The proper Harley comparison should be the Road Glide for the Challenger. Or the proper comparison for the Street Glide should be the Indian Chieftain. The Chieftain Limited or Challenger Limited would be compared to the Harley Street Glide Special and Road Glide Special, and the Indian Chieftain Elite would be comparable to Harley's CVO option. Both the Chieftain and Street Glide base models start at $21,999, the Chieftain Limited starts at $27,999 and Street Glide Special starts at $27,099, and finally the Chieftain Elite starts at $34,999 and the CVO Street Glide starts at $40,599.
I love my scout bobber. I don't hate Harley's by any means, bit I fell in love with my bobber the second I laid eyes on it and don't regret my decision on any way. My old man picked up a 883 two months before I got my scout and I rode his HD plenty. I think they are both great bikes but my scout smokes the sportster in every way possible, including looks (in my opinion anyways). Pull the trigger on the scout, you will not be disappointed I promise. P.S. -. To all y'all out there. As long as we are on two wheels and being safe who cares what brand we all choose to ride. As long as we are out there riding that's all that matters really. Be safe out there guys. Word to your mothers!!! Also the Scout sixty is a couple grand cheaper and will still smoke the sportster, not even close really. Very sweet ride as well!!
Like how you mentioned looks and didn't bother to discuss the Indian Scout.. the bike they actually sell the most of, which in my opinion looks way better than any harley sportster or dyna equivalent. But touché on every cruiser technically copying Harley. I'll give you that one. Harley is cruiser cruiser is harley but that's like saying every sportbike is an iteration of Kawasaki or every dirtbike is an iteration of Honda. A Suzuki DRZ and a Honda CRF aren't very different at all, but to make the assertion you did is kind of a stretch.
Well, there is Moto Guzzi, which turns the engine 90°. I think i'd notice that. Also has a drive shaft. I know some of the big Japanese cruisers did that. Not sure how prevelent that is anymore.
Have common sense. Walk in the Indian dealer and look at / ride the bikes. They are the best made bikes I’ve personally seen. And no I don’t own one probably never will. But I’m not a click bait sheep.
All I have to say ride a Harley then ride a Indian and it’s not even close Indian is a better ride . Also go to a Indian dealership you will see a ton of used Harleys end of story.
After the launch of the Challenger, most bikers said the Challenger was a better bike then Harley, and most test riders are H-D riders...Indian Rocks\m/ !!!
I've ridden both road glide and challenger..I personally like the challenger, sport mode option, beautiful sound, and better tech including speakers and map nav, plus a better price
@@alkeron598 I rode both and I prefer the HD. Better ergonomics, better handling, more torque off the line, better sound and nav system plus feels more premium. Indian dealer support is terrible.

Thanks for being honest. You might get hungry for lack of work but you'll sleep good.
Thank you. I ride an Indian Roadmaster 111 and absolutely love this bike. Wish I could post a photo for you... thanks for standing up and speaking your truth. So glad to know I made a good decision when I elected to purchase this bike rather than a Harley.
Well, you didn’t get my 93 FXR or 03 Sporty in the over twenty years I rode the hell out of them. No problems, all fun.
I cant stand to look at a scout closer than 20ft. Pictures were great. In person it looks really cheap. Like Taiwan cheap
Literally every single motorcycle dealership does that
When I bought my Chieftain DH this summer, they were running a special and I got $750 worth of free apparel and parts.
I didn't get my song played but , got some shirts and a vest and a killer bobber
Took my new Challenger by the finance guy's house (for the local HD dealer) and he said there's no way HD could have come close on price.

An an Indian owner, I came with the mindset that we all have to laugh at ourselves once in a while. The Chief is solo but the cruiser class also has the Vintage which is equipped for a pillion. The Challenger starts at $21,999 whereas the top-of-the-line Limited and Dark Horse models start at $27,999. This is similar between HD's standard and Special models.
Nobody is reading this long ass cry baby comment.
You can keep all of that fisher price chrome, and all of that crappy plastic. You can keep all of the rusty parts too. Every bike is overpriced, but Indian wants way too much money for these crappy bikes.
@@John-td5lu what insight

Puts out more power than H-D’s largest stock motor (117)(yes I’ve ridden both)

You had me at your sister!? What da
Haven't got my second box yet though
try selling it, see how much value an used indian has compared to a Harley? try not to cry
And there’s a showroom full of HD’s at my Indian shop! And Don’t Mess With Texas!!

The challengers stock motor is more powerful than harleys biggest crate 131 motor.... huge oof. You danced around that real slick like.
Right? And the Scout 1100 puts out more power than a Road King while weighing in 300 lbs less
Challenger is 122hp at the crank... 128tq 131 gets 135hp 145tq on a Harley tuner. 155hp with a power vision. That’s at the wheel numbers too... what’s the challenger make at the wheel like 105? I don’t really know which one is better though. If the Harley has a 114 the challenger is more power and speed for sure. But in the end they will both be big baggers anyway... sport bike still gonna slap I found it challenger is 103hp/113tq the wheel
Wrong
Yeah!
Um no man thats just not true the 131 stage 4 is making 150ftlbs 140hp
The challengers engine doesn’t need to have the biggest engine cuz that “smaller” engine is more powerful than their 116
Harley Davidson 116? That's a NEW one....News flash they dont make a 116!
Sundown Headsup he is referring to the 116 from Indian not Harley. The 109 engine has a better torque ratio over the 116.
@@snakeoil2182 Indian makes the 116. He's saying their smaller engine is actually more powerful than their biggest engine. The point being that displacement is not relevant in that argument. The Indian 108 puts out more than Harley's CVO 117 and is not far from the $6000+ 131 crate motor they just released.
*Other brand makes more powerful cruiser than Harley*
Harley people: "Nobody cares about power in cruisers"
*Harley makes obscenely large and expensive crate motor*

He forgot to mention that HD has more letters in their name than Indian
The reason you enjoy the showroom experience of buying a Harley is because after you purchase one that’s where you’ll spend 95% of your time with the bike, the other 5% will be riding there!
Also how you can ignore the premium mechanical extras on a challenger vs a road glide and then say you get more for less with Harley is just moronic. It’s fine if your more of a Harley fan, but if you’re gonna make a video like this try and have some objectivity.

@@davehahn5639 no they're not.
The reason I didn't go with anything American is really just for 2 reasons
1) they're RIDICULOUSLY expensive.

"Indians just don't look as good as Harleys"
I dunno, I'm not a cruiser guy but imo the visual lines on literally any of Indian's offerings flow way smoother and nicer than any Harley I've ever seen (I especially like the Scout and the Vintage).
@@packgrog The Scout is way cheaper than a Sportster and a better bike when you consider it has better performance, water-cooled and belt drive.

It was a 883 so ofcourse it sucked.
Get a clue.

At 5:20, those are two different models. The Harley is the Street Glide and the Indian is the Challenger. The proper Harley comparison should be the Road Glide for the Challenger. Or the proper comparison for the Street Glide should be the Indian Chieftain.
Harley had to beg the USA to put large displacement restrictions on imported bikes just to stay a float. Just saying
All the other reviews where they ride Challenger and The harley back to back every time they said challenger was the better bike.
I live in the largest metropolitan area in the world and only one Indian dealer in the entire area. I know many that have bought from the one dealer and god forbid you need work done you have to leave your bike with them for two to three weeks.
He he. I'm still buying a new Yamaha in the spring. I've had my share of Harley headaches. No matter how much you polish a turd, it's still a turd.
Indians are way better than Harleys in all aspects.
Nope
@@justinpino8115 yeah it is, the only reason why yammie do these kind of videos is to get views and subscribers, it is indeed a form of getting them, but somewhere in the future people wil realise it. Dont get me wrong here, some of their critiques are true, but every single bike that's not a 1000cc they are giving free hate on them.
You can always take your much better Indian, unbalance the crank and throw in a misfire and have a bike that is better quality than harley but sounds like one ...
