This lady should learn how to drive a Lexus Hybrid. I have a IS300h with the correct throttle control I can achieve high 50s on consumption. Lexus IS a great make and superb customer service. My next car will be the RC300h.
Indeed. I drive a Lexus myself (ct200h) and you just have to know how to drive it to achieve great mileage. Drove a is300h over 200km and averaged 5.2l/km.
With my commute im around 3.5-4.5l/100km usually(winter accounted for), mostly 80-100km/h roads with 60km back and forth. With my is 300h from 2014, but been thinking it would be fun with a rc 300h facelifted.
I think all these car reviews really down the Japanese car manufacturers. I don't see any issues with these cars, plus they are really reliable compared with the German rivals. You get more for what you pay for
How often do I need to thrash the car into corners and and put pedal to the metal ..... Never. I drive to work and back on local roads in a rush our. This car is perfect, stylish, quiet, refined, reliable, loads of standard equipment and good for the environment. Non if the engine stop/start crap of other car makers, hate that. If you drive the lexus hybrid as recommended you get excellent mpg. Trying to convince the misses, but it's hard to get through when all they talk about is Audi and BMW!
I saved for almost 2 years to buy this car. I bought a used prefacelift RC300h about a month ago. The infotainment needs some time getting used to, and the EV range is relatively small, but other than that the car is superb. No shakes or rattles, build quality is on another level. Seats are super comfy and it's a great cruiser. OK it's not a rocket, bit it's also not a snail by any means. And it's extremelyyyy rare car where I'm from. Top notch car, I'm really enjoying it :)
Great car, Lexus leading the way! I own a 2016 RC coupe & love it. I get 45/46 mpg constant on various driving roads & I have found the system is more efficient with age, perhaps it’s bedding in when new
I picked up a Lexus RC300h Takumi edition on Friday, loving the car so far and getting about 42mpg. I made a first impressions video on it if you want to check it out? ruclips.net/video/HXV7cLsSQJM/видео.html
This would be my pick if i was looking for a premium coupe. I think it looks fantastic since the facelift came out and it's much rarer than the germans!
Are you going to review the car or just moan about it. Probably best to step back into your boring, run of the mill, two-a-penny 4 Series, C Class or A5 diesel coupe..... or you could have something a little different......
I knew, this will be a crappy review from the moment, when the reviewer said, that the full hybrid and the self-charging hybrid mean the same. O dear o dear....Full hybrid means, that the car can go full electric for a certain time, and self-charging hybrid means, that it doesn't need to be charged from a plug. Driving a hybrid mainly on a highway, and compare this number to nonhybrid opponents isn't fair either. Why do the reviewers from UK always compare the hybrids to the non-hybrids in parameters where they simply can't be better?
But it would be a nice concept. Putting a turbo into a hybrid of this type. Having the turbo sleeping under 2500 RPM, for letting the engine work in Atkinson, and suddenly waking the demon up over this point for sport applications.
I saw one today on the road for the first time. I was blown wawy. I immidietly started googling it and was shocked to find out it has only 181hp! I thought it will be closer to 400. Such a waste of a beautifull design.
It's not rubbish and, yes, its old. But many builders are unable to do it and use plugin hybrid as an excuse to avoid taxes when adding hybrid capacity to extremely inefficient cars. This car gulps 5.6 L to the 100km in real life application. This is ridiculously low and even underpass the little 1.2 turbo engines you will see from other brands.
Please stop using and seemingly buying into the misleading "Self Charging Hybrid" nonsense. Petrol charges the battery via the momentum it creates. Nothing more than a battery to help petrol efficiency. I know you must know better than this yet you still say it in the reviews.
And enjoy paying a fortune to have the multiple faults fixed that it will in no doubt suffer with when your 3 year warranty runs out. I will enjoy my ten year warranty that I am unlikely to need. I see BMW this and that all the time on the roads. All the same, look the same, boring, bland and in no way stand out. I chuckle every time I walk up to the red Red F sport Takumi on my drive way...nothing German matches it for looks
Yes but the BMW and Mercedes will be in the breakers yard, whilst this will still be reliably running! Im done with the German stuff.
It's not diesel, it's not German and it's always being slagged off by wanky British reviewers. What's not to like?
The terrible infotainment system

Don't have a RC. But can replicate 5.3- 5.4 L to 100 km with the IS without even trying to do ecodrive.

And of course a LOT more reliable than the Germans
@@BlatentlyFakeName reliability doesn’t matter on new cars since most people are keeping these for 4-7 years and then get a new car

She has no clue about how good Lexus is!! Its unreal!! 😅
One is parked outside my house right now they look really nice
It’s true Lexus should have a non hybrid option
Why always comparing with crap German cars? This Lexus is a class of it's own.
Indeed
it's not turbocharged
Compare the reliability and its game over
It's not a turbo.

BMW and A5 cheaper? You've probably looked at used cars
I don't think this is turbocharged
No. It's NA.
But it would be a nice concept. Putting a turbo into a hybrid of this type. Having the turbo sleeping under 2500 RPM, for letting the engine work in Atkinson, and suddenly waking the demon up over this point for sport applications.
It's definitely not turbo'd
No She's clueless. Its a 2.5 NA
Go buy a bland German car and give off the perception of being well off then .....Lexus has much more cache
Exactly. Class. Not everyone wants to go round corners sideways...
Lexus = will not break!! Good luck with plastic toys like BMW and Audis 😂
"turbocharged" 😂😂😂 she's clueless...
Great car poor review..
Thanks for the great review!
I easily get 47mpg mainly on dual carriageways.
It gets ten more miles per gallon than the turbo and v6 model.

If you want +400hp there is the RC-F with its 5.0 V8 ++460hp

Yes similare difference price between a BMW 420d and a BMW M4 ^^

What is the technical name of Hybrid that is non plugin types ?
These are slower than the saloon version
No such thing as a self charging hybrid!
the term is used for full hybrid that you can't plug in
Agreed on all points:)
You agree that it is a turbo???
What a crap review and the 300 h is NOT a turbo hybrid that's the 200t
Not a good reviewer at all. Very amateurish in language, delivery and tone.
Great Video Review. Not the best Coupe as there are much better rivals
Could you explain which hybrid sportscoupe you are refering too ?
You know people have different opinions...
I like when people state said "opinions" without examples or facts.
I’d love to see how those ‘much better’ rivals will compare to the Lexus after 200k miles
Who cares when it looks like this!! Name a better looking rival?
8.6 seconds 0-60?
CVT?
This is a SLOW car.
0-100 mph in 20 secs, this is not a slow car!
This confirmed why I shunned buying the RC in favour of the BMW 440i.
