Lexus drivers are not speed freak drivers. We are comfort drivers. There is more than enough power in the RC 350 F Sport. Quick sporty and a luxurious interior that is unlike others in this category. Looks unlike anything else on the road AND it is a smooth as silk ride. IF you want FAST...get the top of the line RC F with 479 hp. Don't get why you are reviewing the least powered of the three and whining about it. The owners of the RC 350 F Sport's rely on owning the car for longevity and low costs maintenance, unlike the German cars: BMW's, Benz's and Porsche's who perform much better with very high maintenance costs later. Lexus owners desire image and comfort with sufficient speed upon demand. The RC's rear passenger seats are more suitable for shorter individuals; however, it is rare that we have 3 or 4 passengers. The rear seats fold down and increases cargo space (10 sq, Feet+) that is helpful. Unlike the Porshe 718 Boxer, cargo space is about 5 sq, feet, very limited, and the car is very expensive. Lexus is more suitable for the luxury and somewhat sporty class.

Having driven my 2020 RC350 for almost 3 years, I consistently get between 31-32 MPG on the FWY to work, and overall between 24-26 MPG combined. Nothing to fix other than routine maintenance and no driving fatigue after spending up to 4 hours driving without a rest stop. I commute 98% of the time, which is probably similar to many other drivers here in Southern California. I drove and modified street cars back in the 1960's, but cruising Van Nuys Blvd has mostly long vanished in the past 50 years. For a daily driving, it is IMO, one of the best vehicles to own and drive. And, one cannot beat the styling of the car, especially given the questionable designs coming from Europe at this time. Older electronics, for sure, but, they do not leave you stranded. A keeper among ultimately disposable cars.

I don't disagree with you. However, For the sake of conversation. On the low end a 6mpg difference over 150k is $7k. Throw basic maintenance into that and your cost of ownership is a lot closer than people might think.

@@PerformanceOnWheels Just a bad chain tensioner, bearings, horrible VANOS on any VAG/Euro vehicle = $5-18k or more depending on engine type/size, which is why VAG got sued and lost in a class action lawsuit, along with their horrible oil consumption issues.
When that VAG/Euro part goes, that $80 part is financially devastating to anyone owning the car to come up with a new engine for $5-$18k right now, not over 15 years. Would you rather pay $10 more at the gas pump weekly for the next 15 years for reliability that is tested and true, which is not life-changing for anyone, or have a engine failure that you have to pay for in 30 days at the horrific cost of $5-18K?

I’ve now had three: a 2017 200t, a 2021 350 Black Line, and now a 2023 350. All F Sport models. I’m 45 and do use it really for just commuting to work and general cruising. I don’t care much about racing; I don’t anticipate or care about driving Nurburgring types of roads. While I would say the performance is better than mediocre compared to a Camry or some other everyday driver, I chose it specifically for comfort and reliability with a touch of sportiness. I also chose it specifically for its attractive looks. I was cross shopping the BMW 4 Series and anyone I asked for an opinion said the RC hands down was the more aesthetically endowed of the two. For me, the car does exactly what it’s supposed to do and I enjoy it. I don’t feel Lexus duped me into thinking I bought an enthusiast’s racing machine. The looks vs performance may suggest it, but I’m getting precisely what I wanted from it. Feel like racing or you like a harsh ride with less premium materials, by all means go to the competitors. Gas mileage seems fine to me. I have zero critiques.

Damn this is such ignorant review to the philosophies and point that the Japanese had for this car.
The 6 speed is the vastly preferred transmission in the community due to the flexibility of the first two gears. In an 8 speed you have a choppy 2 speed interval where you can only drive slow or fast. I have both an RCF and an RC350 AWD Fsport. The RCF has the 8spd and its a very poor daily due to the gear shift points. Its easy to get into trouble. The RCF is a TRACK vehicle, not a daily. THE RC 300/350 was meant to be "good enough" for the street WHILE giving great comfort, nice looks, high quality finishes, in a reliable package. No it is not a track monster, you do not need that on the road. I have NEVER come across a time where I needed 400+ hp or incredibly agile steering that totally sacrifices road comfort. My 350 easily passes and dominates the highway if I need it to.
IMO the RC300/350 is a gentlemans daily sport driver. It is for the more mature owner that wants a spirited daily that looks great and won't give them headaches. All the turbos out there and reliability issues that come attached with the slightly quicker or nimbler steering or fancy gadget there....not worth it!
My RCF is a terrible daily, especially in Canada. I used to own an M4 and it was the exact same experience. The moment it rained or any snow, put the car away... start it up in the morning or come home late and all the neighbours complain about the noise. Oh whats that... a pothole / any road debris...feel that in my ass.
To me, the fact that the RC doesn't sell as well as German equivalents is a perfect analogy to the lack of sophistication in North America. Everything is 0-60, horsepower numbers, and quarter miles. Everyone is a hotwheels kid. Big truck, fast car /theend.
Anyways, this video missed the mark for me. Totally sideways to what the car is supposed to be and spoke nothing of engineering masterclass of these vehicles. Which is not surprising.

why did you buy the RC in the first place if you didn’t like it to begin with that’s of a waste time and money it’s actually country to popular believe it’s a good car but it’s not a race car it’s a grand touring car and a reliable one at that that will go up in value one day unlike it’s competitors yes it might be slower and heavier than everything else but it’s more reliable than everything else and it will be a good time to have in the future I feel like it’s especially misunderstood by the time people really start to understand what this car is about and what makes it so good that will be when prices start to go up but it it will be a while from now 15 to 20 more years from now mine is a 2017 I see 300 that I just got the other day in fact it has 27,000 original miles on it color is ultrasonic metallic blue fantastic color and the interior is a light tan when the car was new it was $52,000 with the F sport package which is what it has I paid 41,000 so the depreciation hit was only $11,000 on a 5 year old gt car you can’t get that from a BMW M4 or an Audi nothing else holds value quite like a Lexus well except maybe Porsche and another thing about the Lexus versus pretty much all of them you can go on a long trip for 10 days or more and you don’t even have to leave the battery connected on a trickle charger and when you come home it starts right up not to mention there’s no droppings on the ground for you to see when you move it oil or coolant you can’t say that about the European competition even a Porsche is guilty of that I have a 986 the five speed manual I leave it on the trickle charger all the time for that reason when I don’t use it but other than that the Lexus RC is not a rubbish car you shouldn’t of put it in the first place if you’re going to complain about how terrible it is it’s not a race car yes Lexus was overcompensating for something when they made this car compete with the BMW M4 and all the other European luxury cars it was supposed to compete with but if you recall Lexus was never really in the sports car game it was a luxury car first actually started as a luxury car only until the IS line which was a bit more sporty not much but a bit And then the SC came along which also was more of the grand touring coupé than anything it was a bit sporty but again it paid more attention to luxury but they never were known for that sports car image so you have to cut them some slack the only successful sports that’s not really a sports car because it’s a super car is the Lexus of a really made with the LFA but I did make the RCF with the 5 L V8 it’s just that exact RC 350 that you’re trading and because you don’t like it but it has a V8 in it but that was is a limited production run car which it’s faster but it still a gt car with more cylinders but the RC is not a sports car it’s a grand touring car a BMW M4 is a sports car that luxury comes second to sports with the Lexus RC it’s the other way around luxury comes first sports come second as well as reliability and good build quality in the interior being king of the whole thing the whole reason the RC model gets a bad wrap is because no one actually understands the car for what it is it’s a luxurious GT car that you can still have fun with maybe not as much fun as a BMW but name me one BMW owner that doesn’t worry about their BMW sports car having a catastrophic injury failure and leaking coolant on top of that it’s like range anxiety in an electric car in any sport European car it’s when will this break anxiety I also on a 1997 jaguar XJ6L so I know a lot about the break anxiety this got very lengthy apologies

As an RC 350 owner the performance is lacking against many cars but the interior beats them all. The comfort is on another level. Very driver oriented, the materials are far better than most.
Sure I’m not the fastest but who cares.. there always someone faster n then you’ll be chasing number dropping 100k overtime.
If you wanna be next level.. get a supercharger.. you’ll net 450 wheel horsepower for another 20k.. hear me out.
RCF 55k Supra 55k 392?? Bro everyone has one. Mustang? Really?..
An RCF would need full bolt on which is 20k on top of the 55k just to win. I know trust me
450wheel beats them all for 35k car plus 20k mods.. you’ll have comfort and speed. Do you sacrifice reliability.. sure.
Even if you get beat. Wow bro you beat a Lexus? No surprise.. then when you beat them.. Lmao you got smoked by a Lexus

For the guy saying Lexus drivers don't care about performance maybe you should think with a little business sense. If you're going to market a "sport" model it should have some sport capability.
