Blue light special ~ Yes! Bring back Kmart!! Also miss Sears and the catalogs! Save the department stores! Go old fashioned shopping at the store/mall y'all !
Lol...we realize that the malls killed downtowns, right? There's nothing wholesome about malls, it's all just economics & not the community development kind. But, ultimately every era of shopping ends, we'll always change, but trends involving buildings have to last a long time. I said 40 more years in the 80s & I was about right, at least in the rural west. But malls do need to be repurposed STAT, they are ideal for medical offices, social services hubs, education, & potentially housing. But there is no reason to get that nostalgic over Kmart or malls, my friends, they were once the "bad guys" and they all did undo themselves. And the world keeps turning... Now, the print catalogs, omg that one does get me, my family has weird generations (lots of older parents, most ppl have 5 gens where we have 3) so my grandfather was a teen in 1898. The idea that he and I both used the Sears catalog used to really get me, altho turns out he was terrible & met a karmic bad end. But we really still do have the catalogs, they're just digital, and every history museum in the USA prob has 10 sears catalogs from 100+ yrs ago. We have several that kids can play with, they are very common. Will be interesting to see if we get offered any more modern ones, I'd love to get a 78 or 79 one...I still remember what I wanted lol!
I agree with you about Target. I walk in, look around, and suddenly have this urge to leave. It's just not what it used to be, and their clothes are awful. I miss K-Mart too.
You crack me up. Shopping with you would be the same as shopping with my sister. I would have gone on my own while you were pondering buying the Golden Girls notebook. I absolutely love your videos. You are an amazing dermatologist. Thanks!!
I love listening to your ramblings. I usually get a useful skincare nugget and if not I enjoy your vocab & way of putting things. It’s a pleasure listening to a clearly well educated person.
I remember that Jaclyn Smith used to sell her clothing line at K Mart. K Mart was very popular when I was young in the 70’s. My neighbor used to work in the “wig department.” 😄
And Cheryl Tiegs! I bought the most beautiful aqua blue Cheryl Tiegs pants there. I loved them so much. I was 16 and thought I was a supermodrl in those pants lol
I love that Cetaphil airless pump bottle too and wish more brands would use them. It just makes so much sense. I hate dealing with regular pump bottles with the tubes that stop working once u get near the end and so u have to throw out the last bit of product
I loved Kmart!! Im 45 and agree wholeheartedly with you on shopping. Its so funny because I tell my kids stories about stores I shopped back in the day and my 10 year old randomly says I wish theyd open Kmart back up! Just based on my stories 😂 Great vlog! ❤❤❤
I never find anything at Target anymore & it used to be one of my favorite stores. The only time I shop there now is if they have a certain Lego in stock (which they rarely do anymore either). I remember when my 3 boys were young, we loved to go there. We’d get popcorn & walk around & shop. I avoid it now. Edit- I have honestly been really impressed with Walmart’s clothing recently. They have really have upped their game in their clothing department.
I usually put aloe vera gel on my burns, but we were at a family weekend and i got splattered with grease while cooking hamburgers. I ran cold water on it and my niece said to put yellow mustard on it and it would take away the burning and also not blister. I had never heard of this before, but it actually works. Just leave the mustard on till it dries and the burning has stopped.
I rarely go to Target unless there's something specific I'm looking for in skin care that I can't find in Wal-Mart. I used to be able to find cute clothes and pajamas there but not any more. And their home decor is ridiculously priced. I used to love K-Mart! Worked there as a teen. Enjoyed the vlog and shopping. Happy Sunday, Dr Dray! I hope you have a lovely evening. 💕
I miss TCBY and I agree that Target used to have some of the cutest clothes! I bought a lot of stuff from there until they remodeled the store. I love the make up section and hair care section but I rarely find cute clothes there anymore.
I can vouch for the Cetaphil Healthy Renew serum with the beads. I’m in my 50’s and hoped it would help with the texture of my skin on my face. I couldn’t tell a big difference at first (I got discouraged and almost stopped using it) but after using it for a few weeks I could tell my skin was smoother. Now a few months later my foundation goes on better and looks better. I’m a fan of that one.
I finally purchased the Bondi Sands Fragrance Free Face Lotion spf 50 for $6.99 on Amazon (for 2.53 oz) and I'm loving it! I also bought the body version of this you've talked about of the channel before and loving it for my body. Definitely underrated products . Might be my new favorite based on the price point alone. Happy Sunday!
Do you notice any difference between the face and body? The ingredients appear basically identical. Curious since the body would be the best value if it's the same.
I agree with you that Target has changed. The vibe there is strange and I can't put my finger on it. Yes, They used to have cute clothes and I always found sundresses. I don't frequent that store anymore. Happy May, Dr. Dray.
Target is still my favorite place to shop. They have really good variety and I still appreciate the price, design and quality of their clothes and lingerie.
I was a huge Designing Women fan! I was just quoting Anthony the other day. But I especially loved Julia and her righteous rants. I often ask myself "What would Julia Sugerbaker do?" Thanks for your videos and just for being you, Dr Dray!
Same thing here in Delaware. They all seem to have the same exact signage in their windows. I have a hard time believing there are thaaaaat many people who vape who need thaaaat many stores to choose from... but what do I know. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
I burnt my wrist 6 days ago touching a cookie sheet bringing it out of the oven. It was pretty bad. Ran it under cold water and that night out silicone on with a bandaid over it. I’ve been changing out the bandaid and adding more silicone every day and it’s almost like nothing happened! I am amazed!
Spot on with everything you missed. Service Merchandise was a favorite of mine. Got all kinds of things from there. Brass vanity from an electric guitar to jewelry.
Haha Andrea I always love it when you say “I digress” 😂 I, as well, go off on random tangents and feel you 100%! It is what makes you…you. Someone we all love. Don’t ever change who you are. ❤
Re: Target- absolutely agree with you, Dr D. I feel like I’m being assaulted by the loud sounds the minute I walk in. Between the loud overhead music & the constant beeping of the pricing “guns”, I can’t take it. I put my AirPods on with Boise cancellation just to dull the “loud”. Thanks for all you do, Dr Dray🙏🏻
I bought the L’Oréal mask based off your recommendation and L O V E I T!!! It made my hair soft , my frizz calmed down but the best part was the SHINE! No product has made my hair this shiny. I could only find it at Walmart , it was $10. Thank you for sharing.
My neighborhood Target is still amazing. I love going in there and just looking at all the things when I go in for something. I hope it doesn’t change!
A silver cream or a silver wound gel is amazing for burns. I keep it in the kitchen because I’m clumsy and burn myself often. I once spilled boiling water on myself and immediately applied the silver cream. The pain was minimal that day. And nonexistent the next day. The wound looked bad but no pain and healed quickly.
Happy Sunday Evening Dr. Dray!! Loved the Video!! I Really Liked Shopping at K-Mart Too, Things have Really Changed that for Sure! Thank You Always, and have an Amazing Evening!!💕
My Target has a lot of very nice things, I shop there often. K-Mart is a sad story. They went bankrupt so many times. I still have my Martha Stewart bath towels that I bought there in the late 90's and they're holding up unbelievably well.
Hope that Golden Girls notebook has a section for sarcastic thought of the day!!! I'm old enough to remember being able to smoke at work! Here in Maine we have more "pot shops" than grocery stores😝😜 Many blessings!!!💖💖💖
Totally agree with you re Target!! I have not found it interesting or fun to go to in years. I just don't know if the focus of the company has changed, or the buyers aren't on point anymore or what the deal is, but Target is NOT the one!
Yes, vapes stores r abundant in TX ! And can we talk about how loud music in retail stores is becoming! No wonder we are all anxious & wound up all the time, nervous systems are overloaded!
When i got a burn i tried to cool the area too with cool running water in order to stop the spread of thermal injury to the cells. But at that time i hadn't had with me the cicaplast baume but a flamigel, a gel that specializes in treating wounds thermal or physical (cut and scrapes) and promotes healing and scar prevention. Although it was not helpful because my scald injury was serious i had it covered and proceeded with a different treatment. But cicaplast was with me and still is and is super helpful 😊❤. Yeah frozen yogurt back then used to be super popular but now you search to find one. We are speaking like from peak to bottom that kind of gap. Thanks Doctor Andrea for another wonderful Vlog 😊❤.
I still love my Target, I buy groceries there a lot. Their best kept secret? In my experience (and at my Target) is avocados, the 4 in a mesh bag. Never had a bad one yet. The staff curate them carefully, there's not a huge pile to choose from, but what's there is choice..
This episode was so much fun👏👏👏 I liked seeing all that plastic in the first store! Yuck!!! I do not miss these stores! But I want to go to Costco! I live in the woods without a town nearby. I have good memories of Target! Now you say it is sinking!
I hope you know how hilarious you are! The line about doing whatever to the epidermis all in one stop. Died laughing! Then “speaking of bananas that need to be financed. I’m headed to Whole Foods”. Dying! 😂. Oh I needed that. Thanks 😊
Shopping with you is hilarious! I can't believe you're old enough to remember K-Mart as being a good store. I can remember, but I'm certainly old enough to be your mother. Before K-Marts disappeared from my area in New Jersey, they had disintegrated into depressing squalor, I do remember finding nice things there. Walmart took the place of the K-marts, and depending on the Walmart, I can find nice items there too. Hit or miss--I once had some women in an upscale mall ask me where I'd bought something I was wearing. They were shocked when I told them it was from Walmart. There wasn't one in their area. There still isn't. I will go to Target to get my son that Golden Girls notebook. He's a huge fan. And both of us can recite some of Julia Sugarbaker's most stirring speeches.
I still love Target. I go in there, get Starbucks and walked around. The bullseye section has really good stuff if you have kids - their toys in bull's-eye section is on point.
Grackles are the best! One reason you don't see them as often has to do with overly-manicured lawns and the pesticides used to keep them looking like carpets. No bugs means nothing for the birds to eat. Birds provide free lawn aeration and fertilizer, and are really important part of the ecosystem! Seeing fewer birds is never a good sign. I used to travel to Austin all the time for work and music, and I loved seeing all the grackle gangs doing their birdie things. Their green eyes make them look slightly devious, but they're super-cute and a really important part of the ecosystem.
We still have a TCBY in Birmingham. Haven't been there in years though, mainly because there are just so many newer, more exciting local places to get froyo or ice cream.
I still very much enjoy target. I go almost once a week if only just to walk around and check out the new makeup and Bath and Beauty products. Yesterday I walked over to their active exercise section and picked up a joylab onesie in taupe. It is so cute! Target has been around since I came to America in 1983 so I imagine it will be around for another 25 years at least!
Love the pump packaging too. No waste. "Don't let me buy this" hahaha! Yeah underwhelming for me too. Target will be here. Where else is there to shop? Yes miss K Mart, loved Ames too. Kohls is okay. Walmart has gotten better. The good ole days! miss them.
Yes! Designing Women! The episode where Julia Sugarbaker goes OFF about men..."so if the world isn't quite what you had in mind, you have only YOURSELVES to blame!" 👑🙌🔥🔥🔥
I agree about target, it’s not fun to shop there anymore. I do pickups for essentials or cat litter lol but I prefer going to a mall now to do my shopping for fun stuff. And I almost exclusively buy j beauty or k beauty for skincare/hair care so I don’t need to browse target anymore. It’s sad because I used to love target but it has gotten so annoying to shop there.
The hair masque sounds interesting. I wish it didn’t contain a silicone…..L’Oreal used to have an EverPure line that was silicone free and I really liked it for my curly hair.
Interesting. Water not cold from the tap. Never considered that might be a problem. The water here is always cold out of the hot tap and it takes a while to get warm. Canada vs. Southern USA.😊
Hey doc! Can you do a video comparing the net difference between consistent at home red light mask usage (i.e. 2-3x per week) vs getting in office laser treatments 2-3x per year?
“Addictive substances is generally a well paid entrepreneurial pursuit” you have the BEST lines. 😂
Blue light special ~ Yes! Bring back Kmart!! Also miss Sears and the catalogs! Save the department stores! Go old fashioned shopping at the store/mall y'all !

Yes yes yes❤
Me Too!! Those Were the Days!!😊
I agree with you about Target. I walk in, look around, and suddenly have this urge to leave. It's just not what it used to be, and their clothes are awful. I miss K-Mart too.
I do love Target….but their clothes have been crappy for a few years now …..
Aww me too.
Aww I miss Kmart too
Yes indeed I don't like the clothes at target and never have.
target clothes are made of tissue paper at this point
Designing Women was SO GOOD!! Loved it!
So good!
My mom loved this show 💕
You crack me up. Shopping with you would be the same as shopping with my sister. I would have gone on my own while you were pondering buying the Golden Girls notebook. I absolutely love your videos. You are an amazing dermatologist. Thanks!!

True, Target isn’t a relaxing place to hang out at anymore. It’s become like Walmart-you just want to get done and leave ASAP.
Yup. Ours has too many tacky acting ppl
I never find anything at Target anymore & it used to be one of my favorite stores. The only time I shop there now is if they have a certain Lego in stock (which they rarely do anymore either). I'm HERE FOR Dr Dray rants! Preach, Sistah. I agree with you 99% of the time. :)
I miss TCBY and I agree that Target used to have some of the cutest clothes! I bought a lot of stuff from there until they remodeled the store. I love the make up section and hair care section but I rarely find cute clothes there anymore.
Yess ! I agree on the target thing . Lately I haven’t been able to find any cute outfits and I used to love shopping there .
Target is only as good as how it's run. Loved Kmart! Had really cute clothes. Love the video. Thanks for taking us along!

13:41 god I miss KMart it was my favorite store to shop in. It was so nice. I miss it so very much.
Yes wondered about Pantene Straw + Cream products, and going to checkout Target, thanks!
We have KMart here in NZ and there is a superstore about 30 mins away and its a great drive on a Saturday for a peruse
🤯🤯🤯Oh My Gosh! Just before you mention the store you missed, I was thinking Kmart, I have Martha Stewart cooking utensils😊Yep, Oldies, but Goodies😎
They were so good 😊
I love target, I hope it's still here in 10 years and more ❤

Loved K-Mart! They're kids clothes were great. Well made and better styles than the Walmart crap.
Amen on Martha at Kmart! Loved shopping there with my mom.

My neighborhood Target is still amazing. I love going in there and just looking at all the things when I go in for something. I hope it doesn’t change!

Yes!! Kmart in Canada was great!! I have Martha Stewart bowls!!!
Yes! TCBY were at every airport. Now you cannot find one.

Here in Maine we have more "pot shops" than grocery stores😝😜
Many blessings!!!💖💖💖
My state still has a few TCBY's, I don't go often anymore but the white chocolate mousse is just amazing 🙌
I love that you were “that kid” who had deep thoughts about having tcby look like the sign. Totally would have been me too! 😊
Designing Women is on Hulu! Loving your videos lately. Happy Sunday! 💚
Totally agree with you re Target!! I have not found it interesting or fun to go to in years. I just don't know if the focus of the company has changed, or the buyers aren't on point anymore or what the deal is, but Target is NOT the one!
Dr Dray, please I would like to hear more about products to tighten skin, please and thanks so much 😊
Yes, vapes stores r abundant in TX ! And can we talk about how loud music in retail stores is becoming! No wonder we are all anxious & wound up all the time, nervous systems are overloaded!

Yes! I loved Designing Women too......I wish they would re-run the series here in Aus! (They replay The Golden Girls often)
I still love my Target, I buy groceries there a lot. Their best kept secret? In my experience (and at my Target) is avocados, the 4 in a mesh bag. Never had a bad one yet. The staff curate them carefully, there's not a huge pile to choose from, but what's there is choice..

I wander around Marshalls on my day off! Btw they do have Martha Stewart products there
Yep….Marshall’s & Tj Max ❤
I too lone Designing Women and K Mart . It was the Blue Light Special. thanks for all your good tips. sty safe and healthy
Good afternoon Dr Dray! Ya gotta get the Golden Girls notebook that would be so fun❤
I Love the L'Oreal conditioner
Haha I bought that shampoo and conditioner this weekend too! It’s not bad….not too overly fruity despite the packaging…I like it.
Totally agree on both Designing Women and Target, used to love browsing around there but now I just want out.
I use honey on burns and it neutralizes the burn instantly. This method has worked many times for my family.
Looking forward to see how the heat rollers work for you.
I worked at K-Mart many years ago. It was the blue light special.
I still love Target. I go in there, get Starbucks and walked around. The bullseye section has really good stuff if you have kids - their toys in bull's-eye section is on point.
I still have Martha Stewart stuff from Kmart. I loved Kmart. I too wish they would come back.

NO SMOKING Such a good choice😊
Have a great Sunday!,, ❤️❤️👏👏
Hey doc! Can you do a video comparing the net difference between consistent at home red light mask usage (i.e. 2-3x per week) vs getting in office laser treatments 2-3x per year?
