Hi! First time on your channel. Nice review, honest. I am thinking about S23 right now, upgrade from Moto G23 (prev. Moto G7) and same for my wife (upgrade from Samsung A40). I want nice, strong, solid and small phone. My wife has small phone and wish to have similar, but I want the best for her. I've chosen S23. I was almost 100% sure, and then I've read about banana gate - issues with focusing, which are visible in a banana-shape out-of-focus area. Did you encounter such issue on S23? This is not a cheap phone and I am thinking about buying two. I want a phone for years. I know that Samsung is OK with updates. I like my moto, but it's a budget phone and camera is mediocre.
Lost my S10 to a pickpocket, so I have to find a replacement. Can't find any new S23s here in Pakistan, and the only used one I found is $767. Should I get that or a new S24 (exynos) at $946?
Those matte sides of 24, I don't expect them to show sings of usage as much as 23, I also suppose the materials to be different, like harder, less scratchy on the s24, so... I dunno, I care about practical and aesthetic shit like that.
Loved the flips in the end, bro! 🤣Cheers for the informative video. I'd get S24 as an upgrade from S9, but Samsung sadly shortchanged the European customers on that shitty Exynos and it's a deal breaker for me. You said there's not much of a difference, but I watched and read other media with detailed testing and that Exynos really falls short of the Snapdragon with higher temperature, faster battery drain (especially while on the move - a key feature of a MOBILE phone 😆) and some display and photography features. So, S24 Snapdragon > S23 > S24 Exynos. In Switzerland there's no big price difference for S23 and S24 at the moment and I expect the S23 will increase in price again while S24 will keep on decreasing. And sadly I can't go for Ultra for the sole reason it'd be too large for my hand.
exact same price.. S24 256GB by far display, gpu, updates, repairability most importantly the display with flat design and more nits and can go down to 1Hz I'd still recommend the Exynos even with a price difference of up to €120 you have the opportunity to get free upgrade literally the only problem with Exynos right now is overheating that being said.. in the past some of the problems with Exynos only started after a year or so but I think that is just anecdotal evidence and I don't think it will happen like that again
I have an old S9+ its about 4 - 5 years now, and really want to buy a new phone, am i doing a bad purchase if i buy the s23+ for example? I dont want the newest but I also getting second thougths of buying the S21 Ultra since the size of the screen is perfect in my hands
Differences are very visible: s23 has the flash hole higher than the s24 , s23has thicker bezels and the s24 has a very distinct and noticable boxy design. You can tell them apart in one second.
I feel like the s24+ is the underrated king, it has the resolution, brightness, display, battery, AI, performance, charging speed, smoothness, and longevity of the s24 ultra, but for 300 dollars less, and you basically only miss out on that sweet camera, materials and pen, which are all negligible.
I didn't pick over of them. I took the Samsung Z fold6. Honestly, it's the best phone I've ever got and the fact that it turns into a tablet, I just absolutely love it. At the end of the day it's not perfect the battery isn't as good on the fold as it is on the s23 Ultra which I had anyway but, This phone is just awesome and I don't regret getting not even for a second. If you do a lot of watching videos or gaming, your full screen, then get yourself a fold and obviously a Samsung not one of those cheap, crappy Google, pixel ones, or whatever.
I am looking for a new device because my beloved S20+ had fallen victim to the green line issue. I am really interested in these two phones, however I'm leaning more towards the S23 as it has the Snapdragon processor, which I read gets less hot and performs better in the long run. The 7 years of updates for the S24 also made me raise an eyebrow. I would think that with such a long period of updates, the phone would start to bog down around maybe 5 years in and at the 7th year of the updates, it'll be very slow, just like the iPhone 4 is with IOS 7 for exampe.
I got the S24 and dummped it on Swappa. Was nice phone but the screen looks washed out with the 24 model. Bought a couple S23's and will keep them as long as I can keep them going. I had a Moto G Power 5G (2023) sitting around and it had a more vibrant screen. The S24 screen looks like something you get at Walmart in the plastic blister pack. Other than a lousy screen te S24 is a nice phone, but so is the S23 with it's nicer screen.
Lol I wouldn't either if I had the S23 😂 I've had my S20+ 5G 4 years next month and it's still going strong! 🙃 I'm going to probably upgrade to the S23 only because my security patches also end next month! So I'm pretty sure you will have your S23 for another 2 to 3 years easily 🙃😃
I had the S23 but after the android update, my phone started to overheat and to turn itself off. I was forced almost to upgrade to the S24. And to be honest, both devices are fantastic.
This is the best review i have seen till now. The summary at the end was superb. I only have one challenge, samsung offers now the latest smartwatch with a value of 400 euros for free with any S24. What should i do….?😊
I have the option to buy samsung s23 256gb or s24 128gb in somewhat same price, in my country we get Exynos version. I come from huawei p30 PRO. I use the phone to watch you-tube, twitch, Instagram, discord, face-book. and read articles on it take few photos on it and videos. For videos I use Go Pro hero 10 mostly. S24 SD gave 17% more battery life than S24 E in one of the videos on YT. Performance wise, SD is stable, but I have S24 E (Germany) and the feel is better than any phone I have ever used.

I bought the Samsung galaxy A53 1,5 years ago, and are SO disapointed! I HATE IT!! Now I'm gonna get a new one. I'm looking st The S23 and S24. But which one to pick? I need a Great camera that takes Great pictures, even if The target modes. Good battery is Nice. Fast responding to my commands. Basically, i want my Huawei p30 pro back 😅 Which do I pick? S23 or S24? They cost The same where I'm buying them, so that doesn't matter. Please, help!
Only a Flat display NOTHING More. S23 still has many many years of support no need to upgrade for 7 years when your phone still has plenty left once you do upgrade you'll have those 7 years to start at that point down the road.
Tbh, almost no argument except bragging rights.I still don't get why non tech reviewers changes their phone annually if it's not broken or stolen. It's just not worth it. You can argue long years support, but these people would change their phone next year anyway...so why does that even matter. I decided to go s24 instead s23 from A50, and glad i did. S24 has way better deal during pre-order order period compared to s23 in my country.
Just got my s24 from pre order. Best phone for me 😊 Camera is good, also the video stability. For gaming also good. I can play about 5-6 hours for game 60 fps. But need wait to long for charging
I thought it was a no brainer to get the 24 Ultra over the 23 Ultra because of the trade in deals. I got $450 for my Pixel 7 Pro. I could have gone the used route and get an s23 for somewhere in the $750 range but it was too close to a brand new phone for me
24: battery, brightness, doesn't heat up as much, bezel, anti-glare screen, AI (if you consider it a pro), extended software service, iPhone "feel". 23: Galaxy "feel." Smoother edges and corners Both phones are disappointingly low in resolution. First thing I noticed upon turning on my Galaxy s23. It was also a little blurry but thankfully there is an accessibility option that removes it. I do not understand this at all why it was blury. I just purchased the Galaxy s23 mainly because of the way it feels in my hand but as for the specs I would go with the s24. Hold the phone in your hand and if you like the way to s24 feels, which is more like an iphone, go with that. If you hate it, get the s23. As for the specs, I think the 24 is superior. And everyone talking about the processor -- this doesn't apply if you're in America so if you're in America don't worry about it. If you're not in America -- aren't the specs faster? The disadvantage is it gets hotter?
The frame alone on the S24 is almost worth it even if it has the Exynos, so much better looking and feel than S23, and no fingerprints, people overreact about the Exynos tbh, S23 using SD Gen 2 not 3, alot of better things on the S24 exynos vs S23, but still shitty of samsung on locking out regions with a worse version of S24. I would for sure rather use SD version of S24 than Exynos version, but rather S24 exynos than S23

What is the painting like living wallpaper on the background tv? Program or animated gif? pls tell me.

Here from my s7 still working like it used to when i bought it. Never repaired. Battery lasts for the day. So im definitely going for the s24. I like keeping a phone for long as possible as you can see 😂
The best phone I have ever had…3 years user!!!
@@jimkobolitis the s23 ?
@clarapimontnogues3156 no the S7, which for me was Samsung's best phone ever produced. I wish my S23 Ultra that I bought, would keep up too!
I also have S7 🙏🏻
I like my moto, but it's a budget phone and camera is mediocre.
can anyone explain to me what do the shrugs at the end mean?
7 years update is crazy thats why im choosing s24 its expensive and i want it to be relevant for a long long time
Lost my S10 to a pickpocket, so I have to find a replacement.
Can't find any new S23s here in Pakistan, and the only used one I found is $767.
Should I get that or a new S24 (exynos) at $946?
I'm shopping for s23/s24 right now and curiously, s24 is 9% cheaper where I live than the older model.
Those matte sides of 24, I don't expect them to show sings of usage as much as 23, I also suppose the materials to be different, like harder, less scratchy on the s24, so... I dunno, I care about practical and aesthetic shit like that.
My s23 antenna is terrible. I struggle to get 5g even when the masts are close. Plus you can't add extra storage
Thanks Dayo! The comparison I was waiting for. Go 💯K
Woow, I have never seen a better explanation video..... thank you so much for this!
For the first time, I found a video that I actually helped me.
What is that animation/screensaver behind you? It's very nice.
Excellent review my man. I think I'm staying with the S23.
Hey, so i can get the s23(256gb) and the s24 exynos (256gb) for the exact some price. What is the better choice?
exact same price.. S24 256GB by far
display, gpu, updates, repairability
most importantly the display with flat design and more nits and can go down to 1Hz
I'd still recommend the Exynos even with a price difference of up to €120
you have the opportunity to get free upgrade
literally the only problem with Exynos right now is overheating
that being said.. in the past some of the problems with Exynos only started after a year or so
but I think that is just anecdotal evidence and I don't think it will happen like that again
I have an old S9+ its about 4 - 5 years now, and really want to buy a new phone, am i doing a bad purchase if i buy the s23+ for example? I dont want the newest but I also getting second thougths of buying the S21 Ultra since the size of the screen is perfect in my hands
Would definitely pick up the S23+ over the S21 ultra
hello there
can someone help me set up my camera and video settings
s23 user here
thanks
Can I use s23 screen protector with my s24? I can't justify paying 60 dollars for screen protector when best is having a sale for 9.99 on the s23?
Where can I get that TV background?
You deserve a million subscribers ❤
The S23 is the clear winner in Europe.
The S24 comes here with Exynos and that's really not good. It's downgrade compared to the S23.
My country only have exynos version S24, I definitely keep my S23 for long time 😅
If you don't go to the s24 plus from s23, imo there's no point for upgrade
Is your background is the shot from the game planet of lana?
Yes it is!
The outro is crazy
You did not discuss about battery back upon both phones
I am looking for a new device because my beloved S20+ had fallen victim to the green line issue. I am really interested in these two phones, however I'm leaning more towards the S23 as it has the Snapdragon processor, which I read gets less hot and performs better in the long run. The 7 years of updates for the S24 also made me raise an eyebrow. I would think that with such a long period of updates, the phone would start to bog down around maybe 5 years in and at the 7th year of the updates, it'll be very slow, just like the iPhone 4 is with IOS 7 for exampe.
I do like the flat edge of the S24 much better, but on Amazon renewed it's about $150 difference. I probably get the S23 plus.
The problem is, s24 here in UK is cheaper than s23. That's because of the ridiculous idea of putting back the Exynos on s24 and S24+.
Do you think that other phone companies will also offer 7 years of updates?
Nope ,
For Android phones 📱 looks like it will be Samsung & Google for now!!! 🎉
thank you so much! you helped me a lot and i finally found someone who is honest and has good, quality content :)
But am I not correct in thinking that the s23 will receive the latest update soon, including A I
tf are you talking about? samsung has 4 years of one ui updates and 5 years of security updates. the s23 came out in you know 2023.
You shoud do this comparison again, since now both are on android 14 with AI features
When I get back from my trip I will
Great review 👍
ordered a refurbished s23, also subbed.
me too! sold my iphone 13 for S23
How do you make the icons smaller ?
Settings > Display > Font
S24 better looking build slighly bigger. Better cooling. I had S23 SD but prefer S24 ..I got more storage and under 1/2 price so no complaint
Always on display will change soon for the S23 with OneUI 6.1 update
i was about to ask it. thanx !
Also just recently the S23 is getting the Galaxy AI features
i`m a proud owner of an s23 and i don`t plan to switch any time soon
Lol I wouldn't either if I had the S23 😂
I've had my S20+ 5G 4 years next month and it's still going strong! 🙃
I'm going to probably upgrade to the S23 only because my security patches also end next month!
So I'm pretty sure you will have your S23 for another 2 to 3 years easily 🙃😃
Thank you, Dayo! Very informative and simply explained.
Always awesome to get a new video that Nobody sponsored! Dayo is the best on RUclips - why does Nobody not understand that ?!
wich one should i take ? s23 ultra or the regular s24 ?
s23 ultra
get the s23 256gb with ufs 4.0. Is cheaper and very future proof.
Hahahah such a nice and clear video, no sponsor but u gained a subscribe from me and going to watch your next content. Good luck
Don’t jinx it, sponsors incoming 😉
So can you advice me what to get. Thank you very much
S23 hands down
@@Sanshitsanshy yes that is what I will get
After 9 months, would you still say that I should go for the s23
@@knuckles1546 yes
I like your review and I'm ordering S23 right now
0:21 "I'm shocked we're still getting documentation, when that can easily be inside the phone itself." Scary!
Dam! You are so honest , bro And u are articulate. Moby has now got a serious competitor
Will a change from 6.7(A73 ) to 6.1 uncomfortable ?
Feel ya, Im switching from A72. Did you buy the phone? WHat is your experience switching from A series to S series?
I wish if you could compare the S24 exynos with the snapdragon version to see if I can go for the S24 or stick with my iPhone 14
S24 SD gave 17% more battery life than S24 E in one of the videos on YT. Performance wise, SD is stable, but I have S24 E (Germany) and the feel is better than any phone I have ever used.
Great honest review. Keep it up!
i would have bought the s24, however, sitting in europe i do not pay more for a processor that´s much worse.
thank you for your honest review though!
I live in sweden, and don't know much about Phones 😅
I take lots of pictures of animals, mostly cats. And as you all know, animals don't pose for us 😅 they move, suddenly.
I bought the Samsung galaxy A53 1,5 years ago, and are SO disapointed! The camera SUCKS for what I use it for, The Phone turn The sound on on itself while in my pocket suddenly, it gets hot sometimes while Daily use, I have to re-start it once a week because it stops working and doesn't respond to my touch. I HATE IT!!
Now I'm gonna get a new one. I'm looking st The S23 and S24. But which one to pick?
I need a Great camera that takes Great pictures, even if The target modes. Good battery is Nice. Fast responding to my commands.
Basically, i want my Huawei p30 pro back 😅
Which do I pick? S23 or S24? They cost The same where I'm buying them, so that doesn't matter.
Please, help!
Good vid and honest review👌🏻
Little question, what wallpaper is the one that you are using on the tv behind you?
Most likely it comes from Wallpaper Engine, but I can't find it in the catalogue.
What would be the best argument for upgrading from the s23 ultra the the s24 ultra?
Only a Flat display NOTHING More. S23 still has many many years of support no need to upgrade for 7 years when your phone still has plenty left once you do upgrade you'll have those 7 years to start at that point down the road.
Just CPU and flat display.
For me? 7y of upgrades. I almost went pixel this year because of it.
@enesjei literally because when the s25 says I'll do 8 years of support are they gonna upgrade to that too? Like it makes no sense 😂😂
Hi guys using iphone 15 right now just wanna ask if its a good idea to swap it for s23 hope someone can help
Just got my s24 from pre order.
Best phone for me 😊
Camera is good, also the video stability.
For gaming also good. I can play about 5-6 hours for game 60 fps.
But need wait to long for charging
Exynos or snap?
@@Karthik_Hypnoticz exynos
@@Pro_player_2022 i see . Thanks
I thought it was a no brainer to get the 24 Ultra over the 23 Ultra because of the trade in deals. I got $450 for my Pixel 7 Pro. I could have gone the used route and get an s23 for somewhere in the $750 range but it was too close to a brand new phone for me
The S23 Ultra and the S24 Ultra have more differences than the S23/S23+ and the S24/S24+...
24: battery, brightness, doesn't heat up as much, bezel, anti-glare screen, AI (if you consider it a pro), extended software service, iPhone "feel".
23: Galaxy "feel." Smoother edges and corners
Both phones are disappointingly low in resolution.
The disadvantage is it gets hotter?
if you live in Europe, the 23 is the way to go. they switched back to exynos for some odd reason.
I like smaller phones and don't like my Samsung looking almost identical to the iPhone so I am going with the S23 😃😀
