Excellent video. I upgraded this year from a 7 year old oneplus 5T to the S24. The difference is night and day. The obvious reason that you are seeing worse battery life than the S23 is the crappy Exynos processor. It's also why you are seeing fluidity problems. I have no such problems on my S23 Plus nor did I on my S23U. Earlier this year I had 2 x S24 Plus devices and they both exhibited slightly worse battery life and micro stutters in the UI. If the Exynos is so good, Samsung would have used it in the S24U, which they didn't. The Samsung modem that it uses is also rubbish with far worse than a SD device.
Not half way through its life cycle, just half way through the release cycle. It's a very great phone (except the exynos versions unfortunately) and in my opinion they should bring back the s22 design for the base and the plus, they were so classy!
Hey Sam, as a customization enthusiast, can you please throw some light on 3rd party launcher compatibility one OneUI 6 & 6.1? Nova launcher was perfect on 5.1 but from 6 onwards, the animations are broken with all the launchers. The only thing I hate about OneUI.

My biggest regret is spending my money on a S21 instead of a iPhone 13 Pro. Since then, Samsung has literally not improved a single thing when it comes to real world usage and not those gimmicky 100x cameras.
as a Samsung user the issue with the S line up is the fact they willingly make the base model inferior by using inferior camera sensors nd cooling system than the Ultra, that why comparing a basic S model and a basic iPhone, the iPhone will always be superior. I wish they go back the days of the S8 when they made the phone just bigger but offering the same experience on all variants
Currently using pixel. I prefer the camera on the pixel but hate the fps. Even though samsung hardware design is mature at this point, it has much better fit and finish. It feels like a much more premium phone when compared to the pixel.
I’m considering jumping back to android after being on iPhone for about a year. To anyone who owns the S24, how does it do on phone calls? iPhone is hard to beat on phone calls so I’m hoping Galaxy phones are at least as good.
Pixels despite having Vanilla Android are notorious for having performance issues just in a few months into launch. Some third party apps are even better than Google's stock apps. Recent Samsung software is very stable from my experience. Clean yet Playful. As long as they allow us to delete their bloatware.
@@Techsnowball It's tough to pinpoint, but the overall way the Pixel handles Android still feels the most coherent and polished to me. Personally I like the simplified approach of the pixel. As one who came from iOS back to android (I simply missed it too much), I'd grown to appreciate the simplified approach of iOS. So pixel 8 pro was the perfect blend of both worlds for me at least. And even now, I've considered going back to iPhone 16 but the pixel is making me feel "meh" about the idea. So while I understand how people would prefer the samsung over the pixel, the pixel is currently what's keeping me rooted as an android user in general. Though, I have to say, just hearing "never gets warm to the touch" alone has made me start considering venturing back to the samsung flavor of android...
I love Sammy devices when they're just released. But, here's the thing: they become sluggish as they age. IDK why a device with 8-12+ GB of ram just goes to shit within 6 months -1 year of use... I gave the s24 Ultra a try, and it already had hang ups from the box, added to a subpar camera experience. If you have pets or kids, go with a Pixel or iPhone.
Snapdragon S24 must be the best, no doubt about that. In india the only version that's being sold is the Exynos one, trust me that's the worst!! That why I opted for the S23

Is this photoshopped to look good or a case/cover available for purchase?

It's not a problem related to s24 series alone, because I have an S20 plus with the same issue🙂 so it seems like it's google maps related issue ,because i don't remember having GPS issues with my phone before 🤷🏻♂️
Same here I switched to Waze bcz Google maps on my Pixel 7 pro is completely broken after the last update, and you know it's Google fault bcz when I uninstalled the updates everything worked perfectly, the moment I update Google maps everything would go downhill
The Samsung modem that it uses is also rubbish with far worse than a SD device.
what aspect ratio is this filmed in? in landscape on my Fold's cover screen, its almost full screen. looks great 👍🏾
yeah - since im always using my smartphone as an navigator the "laggy" gps is a dealbreaker for me^^.
Great video as always Sam, keep it up, please make home screen setup videos;
The Google maps issue has been a thing since s7. I didnt realise how bad it was until I got a pixel. Kind of shocking.
Biggest flaw is the Exynos CPU. No no for me. My S21+, also carrying an exynos, has been really starting to lag the last 6 months or so.
Amazing production quality as always Sam, love your channel, keep up the good work man
Top notch video quality. Congrats on your achievements Sam!
Halfway through its life cycle in 6 months?
I am using my OnePlus for the past 5 and a half years and it's still at around 80% of its life cycle
He meant with generational refresh, not battery (which I assume that's why you're shocked) ... As in 6 months time, there'll be the S25
@@benjaminobeng4772 im not talking about battery either. I'm saying that i could use my phone for another year and a half because it's still as fast as when it was when it was new
Best video of S24 i've seen so far. Im definitley buying this compact beast if i get the hands on Snapdragon version.
I just returned the S24 because the matt finish of the body made it so damn slippery I felt it was only a matter of time before it went flying off my hand (I don't like to use a case). Too bad because I loved everything else about the phone, especially the size. Hopefully Samsung will go back to a glossy for the S25!
In most indoor photos the S24 photos are better than the S24 Ultra. I have the two of them and that is the honest truth.
First time I ever heard that
My biggest regret is spending my money on a S21 instead of a iPhone 13 Pro.
I have the same problem with s24+ and think about returning it for s23
everything about this video is damn. how did you achieve the tiny icons?
S24 plus is what i would go for. Big screen, bigger battery, faster charging, more ram all better for future proofing.
I tried the S24 for a few days. Solid phone, but I missed my Pixel too much.
What did you miss about the pixel ?
@@Techsnowball It's tough to pinpoint, but the overall way the Pixel handles Android still feels the most coherent and polished to me. Plus I use Now Playing and Call Screening all the time, and I still don't love the look of Samsung's cameras. Don't get me wrong, the S24 is great! Battery life, in particular, was absolutely better. Other than that, I'm just so used to the Pixel UI it's hard to go to anything else.
@@majestikmoose9I don't miss my Pixel 6 pro. Way too much buggy experience, and low build quality. Never gonna use Pixel again. Pure waste of my money. Rather, i really love my Galaxy S23. Just pure better phone.
@@majestikmoose9 ahh that makes me worried to switch because I love my pixel 6a, but I feel like the upgrade to 8 is underwhelming.
Is the GPS and google maps issue solved?
Nobody wants Exynos.. but then again.. nobody wants Tensor.. 😢
What has your experience with GoodLock been compared to Nova Launcher?
Vivo X Fold 3 and pro baby! Innovation without software stagnation!!
i think you should try out the oneplus 12 aswell. its been one of my favorite phones aswell as some of my friends favorites
S24+ GANG in the building!!!
I like the plus a lot
This gang comprises of roughly 4 people
What's the launcher or icon pack you're using
Your homescreen looks so clean and dope
In this video, he is using the stock Galaxy launcher, and the icon pack is called "Drops Icon Pack" by developer Sam Beckman (himself). The widget is a customized KWGT widget.
That why I opted for the S23
im downgrading from a z flip 6 to a s24 as my flip 6 broke in the first 4 days of use
I wish i have the money to buy one and also I wish Android Smartphone Maker stick with 3.5mm headphone jack and sd card slot, that would be the ideal complete phone imo
as somoen who been a samsung fan boy for the longest nothing can make me leave the stock android on pixel
I hate the fingerprint sensor. Its too slow. I like one plus and pixel better.
Hey Sam.... I am stil stuck with S22 ultra ....😊
How can you have 12h left with 50% on your s23 while mine only have 7h with the same battery level ?
YOUR VIDEOS ARE ALWAYS SO WELL SHOT! JESUS H CHRIST!!!
I cant tell you how much I love your videos mate, been a follower for a loong while now and it baffles me how good your content it video after video. You're an inspiration, mate
6.2 inches is compact? Not long ago anything near 7 inches were considered tablets.
What about duplication of apps? samsung apps clone regardless of you want to use them and annoying reminder to login to Samsung account.
9:45 Samsung has had Snapdragon and Exynos variants for years and it was only the 23 series in recent years that was only Snapdragon across the globe.
