The theory that this guy was Venom has circulated before, and there was a tiny bit of evidence for it, so why not?

My very first MGS game was Peace Walker. In that game, I literally spent hundreds of hours building up Militiers Sans Frontiers, I especially liked collecting strong soldiers and then playing tough missions as them. Then when Ground Zeroes came out, I found out MSF is destroyed. I was genuinely pissed and upset. All my work, all my staff, the place I spent so much time, gone. Going into the Phantom Pain I resonated greatly with the themes of loss, and finding out Venom is the best MSF had for me validates the time I spent and how upset I was. Because Venom is the embodiment of that loss very literally, I even played as him in Peace Walker! Now he's torn apart, physically and mentally, a truly haunted man forced to bear the burden of that phantom pain, just like me. Thanks for making this, I really like it.
Venom is a symbol of the strength you built, and Outer Heaven is 'his' legacy just as much as it is Naked Snake's. In the end, the legend of Big Boss was too big for just one man.
@@awangnabil4687 I only played Snake Eater, Revengeance and Phantom Pain. Metal Gear Solid 3 was the first game in the franchise that I played on my ps2.
I still feel robbed of what MGSV could have been, it should have included Venom's last few moments, as a departure from the series and pretty much our own persona from the series, it would have been great to see our demise to the hands of young Solid Snake in-game, would have cried seeing that happen as it would have truly signified the ending of the saga.
I agree. While it technically did fill the gap in the series, I still wonder what would have happened if Kojima was able to finish the title more properly. Perhaps even he never would've done this (he certainly never would've used Hayter, tragically), but that's why I tried to do it here now.
I feel robbed that we didn't get the real story of big boss creating outer heaven and instead follow some medic with a pretentious plot all for the sake of a twist that doesn't matter in the grand scheme of things along with several unnecessary retcons.
Venom snake is hated just for Not being big boss or one of his clones, But he's Big boss' soldier and they were all family. From the beginning to the end
Now i did noticed that, the guy from MGS Peace Walker, the guy who called Snake as Vic Boss, is the Venom Snake that was a "clone" of real Big Boss Kojima and his history's . _ .
While I wouldn't say it's confirmed, the signature on the back of the photo was certainly evidence enough to make it plausible, so I went with that theory in this video. I love the idea that Venom was someone you could identify in all 3 games.
@@MechaSalesman vic boss was a name all his men called him, because at the time he didn't want to be called Big Boss. Literally all his men and the sandinistas cheer "Vic boss!! Vic Boss!!" In the communication tower towards the end of PW. I don't think that noob at the start of the game us meant to be Venom
What Venom did show was that, he was hypercompetent, even surpassing Big Boss in term of Combat prowess. Almost all of Big Boss's legend and achievement were mostly done by Venom post-Ground Zero till Intrude N131. He deserved that Title of Big Boss Meanwhile, Naked Snake basically became Cypher 2.0 until MG2.
While I agree with you, we do know the real Big Boss likely is the one who went to rescue Gray Fox (again), sent Naomi back to America, recruited Sniper Wolf, and actually created Outer Heaven the nation (with Venom's help of course). Of course, I suspect the two would often swap places on the battlefield (I doubt Venom ever returned to the States himself), but I don't think Naked Snake stopped fighting himself. He would be Saladin, so to speak (One of the hornless old Venom modes in MGSV is called exactly that.
Nothing Venom did in MGSV comes close to surpassing what Big Boss did in MGS3 and PW. Not even close, its bizarre you'd even try and get away with saying this. His missions were miniature versions of what Big Boss did in MGS3 and PW. Big Boss took out the entire Cobra Unit, The Boss, and a fuck ton of mechs, APCs and attack choppers on his own. Venoms missions were mundane by comparison. Only a fucking MGSV fanboy would try and make BS statements like this. And even after Cenom became the phantom, Big Boss was still fighting. He was fighting in ethnic conflicts all over Africa with Gray Fox while Venom ran Diamond Dogs, all whilst building the true Outer Heaven in South Africa. Big Boss lived to fight, he just had bigger priorities than fucking bitch ass skull fave and his lame plan to eliminate the English language
Thank you. Better emulation and a more sophisticated mod scene now allows for much higher quality content across the board, allowing people to make even better looking footage. I used both for this and the other 2 AMVs I made (for Solid and Raiden Respectively)
A place where soldiers are respected. A place where soldiers don't fight for some flag. A place where soldiers fight for their brothers. An army without a nation. Outer Heaven.
@@kosbusterchannel Only at final stage of developing. I read somewhere that Eli boss battle originally was in the middle of the game - but later missions were scrapped and Mission 51 should have been the ending.
In the end, after realizing his true identity, he wasn't upset at all with the deception. Rather he was honored to help out his fellow boss, the very man he had looked up to during the MSF (Peace Walker) days. Loyal to the end.
I can't say whether or not Outer Heaven committed acts which were good or bad (I guess that depends on how you the player handled DD in MGSV!), but in a sense it can make Venom more heroic than John, who essentially descended into Zero levels of deception. In the end, who was really the demon? That's up to you.
@@MechaSalesman Based on Venom's reaction to the "Man who sold the world" tape, the first thing that popped into his head must have been, "Damn it, Boss, the shit you get me into..." Followed by, "I'm no phantom, I AM Big-goddamn-Boss." What I wonder is... Was the Medic that skilled? Or was it simply the unshakeable belief that he was Big Boss that made him into Naked Snake's equal?
The whole point is that big boss became the very thing he hated. He manipulated venom snake the same way the government manipulated him and the boss. And he let diamond dogs be cannon fodder for cipher and xof.Even though he was against the idea, he still went along with it. That's his downfall.
@@MechaSalesman I feel like if we're to go back in time to when metal gear was first made then outer heaven probably did commit crimes but since kojima created the big boss saga it can be safe to assume that they mostly did good things and that the Patriots just manipulated solid snake.
I prefer it this way; Venom went along at first (the smirk) but eventually got pissed at BB for ruining his life and using him for his own gain and started the Outer heaven uprising to go against him, prompting BB to send Gray fox then Solid to take him down. Venom probably still kept the ruse of being BB to smear his name further, an act of defiance. Finally, BB sends him the Intrude tape as a last “fuck you” and Venom smashes his mirror in disgust for being tricked by BB all those years and allowing himself to be turned into a demon by him.
Venom snake or Ahab is my favorite snake. He deserved so much better. He's such a tragic character. He even came closest to the Boss's will by dismantling all nukes. Making world peace. A good man in a horrible world.

@@skunto No, it's really not. Ultimately, I felt that while the game didn't give us quite as much narrative for Venom as I would hoped, if you sit back and think about it, he actually has an interesting story and history in the franchise. I wanted this video to show a condensed version of just what that story really looks like across the timeline.
And in the end he betrayed a man that preffered to spare the lives of the soldiers he faced in the battlefeild...also the animals and children...he also strived to denuclearize the world....so yea...VENOM SNAKE...my dad...is the better man...because even through the HELL of the battlefield he still saw others as human beings and not just obstacles to his own selfish plans and desires.
That final momment.... with that music... with custom voice lines !?.. goosebumps are real my friend.. Thanks for making this video. I can’t stop watching now.
Editing the voice clips was the very first thing I did. If I couldn't get enough clips of Hayter/Sutherland to approximate their MG1 conversation, I might not have made the video. Luckily, it worked.
I have read the novelizations and the comics and dearly wish that they would do a series focusing on Vic Boss and his Phantom, the games are legendary, but the story, ah the story is what made it the best damn franchise I have ever played.
It's been nearly 5 years since the Phantom Pain released. I've played it twice since and both times it's absolutely amazing. After watching this, I'm firing it up on Steam for another play-through to take down Skull Face, build Diamond Dogs, let the legend live again.
Yeah, when I started making these, it made me do a deep dive into FOBs and other parts of the game I'd neglected for awhile, and with mods and other tweaks it's still a ton of fun even after 5 years.
Big Boss was the one loyal to war. Venom actually embraced pacifism, evidenced by his nuclear disarmament activities and wish to see the day where "the gun would no longer be needed" - his philosophy actually directly contradicted the real Big Boss's. And had Venom been allowed to continue down his own path his version of Outer Heaven would have differed greatly to the real Big Boss's. But instead he allowed Big Boss to consume him use him as nothing more than an expendable shadow working towards Big Boss's goals, throwing away the last remaining pieces of his original persona. Thus becoming a 'demon' just like the man he served
@@supremeworld87 I don't see it like that. My quote of "Forever LOYAL to the flames of war" goes beyond what you have understanded as it is directly tied to The boss herself. Naked was at the end a slave to war. He was too afraid of ending wars because he saw himself as a weapon, and to evoid this reality, he just wanted a world where wars always existed, thus giving his existence a true meaning. Venom was different, and the thing is, he was the person who shared the biggest similarities with The Boss. They both wanted pacifism, a day where their guns won't be needed anymore. But what truly makes Venom loyal to the flames of war is that just like The Boss did, he remained loyal to the mission. Because that is what good soldiers do, follow orders. Venom could have used his own Outer Heaven against Big Boss real one, to take revenge for the man who sold the world and took everything from him. But he learned a valuable lesson with Skull Face regarding "Revenge". And instead of doing what it was the moral thing to do, betray the man who took everything from him and wanted to drown the world into chaos, he decided to remain loyal to him, as a good soldier. He was forced to become a demon in order to draw the worlds attention towards him and that ultimately ended up being his doom. And that is why Venom was truly *LOYAL* to the flames of war. Because unlike Big Boss, he didn't had the chance of just walk away. Everything was forced upon him and when he had the oportunity to use the power and influence of his name, he remained loyal to the man who stole all from him, because that is what soldiers do. A true soldier, loyal to the end.
@@warchiefvenomn7612 I don't agree with your assessment. He wasnt loyal to the flames of war, not really, because he was a pacifist. Whereas the real Big Boss most certainly was loyal to the flames of war, hence his gravestone Venoms loyalty was to Big Boss. Not to the flames of war Being loyal to the mission is not the same thing as being loyal to the flames of war I'm afraid
@@supremeworld87 But doesn't that make him loyal to it tho? You are saying that Big Boss was all around war, and Venom was loyal to him, so by definition and logic, Venom was loyal to the flames of war regardless if he was a pacifist or not. That is my point. If Naked or the patriots never thought this was the case, i don't see the point in making Venom a tombstone saying he was loyal to the flames of war as we saw in MGS4.
@@warchiefvenomn7612 the tombstone wasnt venoms, it was big boss's. Venom doesn't have a tombstone, this is the whole crux of the twist. That tombstone was erected following the demise of the real big boss in ZL. Venom has no tombstone of his own, everything he did as a phantom became part of the legacy of the true big boss. I'm genuinely confused at why you think that tombstone relates in any way to Venom, a bit part player in Big Boss's legacy
Awsome detail in the beginning V is the one teaching the rest of the soldiers cqc showing how good he was compared to Big Boss, no wonder they chose him.
They didn't just make another Big Boss, they turned an angel into a demon by force. Once a healer, the medicine for the world, now a destroyer, the venom that will rot the world to its core.
This was awesome. Any fan of the story would wonder at some point if the timelines were different- if Solid came to takedown Venom earlier as a young man instead of old, maybe Venom won that fight and recruited Solid to Outer Heaven. Great series, great game 🎉
Venom snake or punished snake was virtually Big bosses shield. It was big boss who helped venom snake escape the hospital in the beginning of MGV while disguised as the patient to avoid cypher (the patriots).
Well, he literally took missiles the Patriots meant for Big Boss (since Solid was essentially their proxy in the early years) directly to the face. A shield right to the end.

I dig Venom Snake. I actually think it’s a cool concept. And it plugs a plot hole. But I’ve erased XOF and Skullface from my head canon. The idea that Big Boss wasn’t such a badass at Operation Snake Eater, but just had another unit sneaking around and protecting him pisses me off. Naked Snake went in, took out every member of the Cobras one by one, killed Volgin like 5 times, destroyed the Shagohod, and defeated the Boss in single combat. Booooooo Except XOF was protecting him without him noticing.
@@MechaSalesman Ah man me too, that's why I thought it was cool of you to provide that visual. The fan legacy of this game burns bright I tell ya, we might see it for real one day

It's subtle, but there. It's not stated who Venom was, but the idea was that he's someone from among who you recruited. Essentially, your best trooper aside from Snake or other named characters.

In the end, the legend of Big Boss was too big for just one man.
I only played 4 and now 5. But damn I feel your emotion reading this!
If you have feelings like this, how do those who were happily killing the soldiers of Outer Heaven and Zanzibar Land feel.
@@awangnabil4687 I only played Snake Eater, Revengeance and Phantom Pain. Metal Gear Solid 3 was the first game in the franchise that I played on my ps2.
Big Boss is not a name, it's a title
Anyone can be Big Boss, as long he or she had a will of a Big Boss.
Truth.
It doesn't help that the concept art of Young Snake actually existed and were suppose to appear in the game.
Does MGSV support mods on PC or something? Is it possible some dedicated people could make a mission like that?
@@punishedchad8733 well side mission is done but custom maps with custom assets are currently getting developed so you can expect some mission mods.

Kojima and his history's .
He deserved that Title of Big Boss
Meanwhile, Naked Snake basically became Cypher 2.0 until MG2.
I remembered the mission called_Operation Intrude N313.

I believe that the real Venom snake was the soldier who was training the MSF men at the very beginning of the story
Gustavo Vazquez “real” DOESNT exist
In the end, after realizing his true identity, he wasn't upset at all with the deception. Rather he was honored to help out his fellow boss, the very man he had looked up to during the MSF (Peace Walker) days. Loyal to the end.
I can't say whether or not Outer Heaven committed acts which were good or bad (I guess that depends on how you the player handled DD in MGSV!), but in a sense it can make Venom more heroic than John, who essentially descended into Zero levels of deception. In the end, who was really the demon? That's up to you.
@@MechaSalesman Based on Venom's reaction to the "Man who sold the world" tape, the first thing that popped into his head must have been, "Damn it, Boss, the shit you get me into..." Followed by, "I'm no phantom, I AM Big-goddamn-Boss."
What I wonder is...

This is good! Isn't it?
Thank you for this. Just an amazing video and tribute to a hero forever loyal to the flames of war.
@@supremeworld87
I don't see it like that.
Whereas the real Big Boss most certainly was loyal to the flames of war, hence his gravestone
Venoms loyalty was to Big Boss. Not to the flames of war
Being loyal to the mission is not the same thing as being loyal to the flames of war I'm afraid
@@supremeworld87
But doesn't that make him loyal to it tho?
They turned him into skullface
This was awesome.
Any fan of the story would wonder at some point if the timelines were different- if Solid came to takedown Venom earlier as a young man instead of old, maybe Venom won that fight and recruited Solid to Outer Heaven. Great series, great game 🎉
