How to Fix a Toyota Hood that Won't Close

  • In this video I will show you a few solutions in case the hood of your Toyota (Corolla, Tacoma, Sienna, Prius, Camry, Rav4..) will not stay closed. This could be dangerous when driving at higher speeds. UPDATE: This can also be solve by adjusting the rubber bushing that are on the left and right side of the hood latch. Sometimes they get out of position and block the hood from fully closing down.

    Amazing, thank you for that video! I managed to fix it myself and avoid paying a lot of money to a garage for something that would take them 10 min and cost them close to nothing 😊

    If you find out that the handle on the inside is staying out. Grab the wire right behind it and push it back into the wire housing. If need be get a wire lubricant tool that is generally used on bicycles and motorcycles two lubricate the inside of the tube housing.

    FYI: wd40 is not a lubricant! It’s a penetrant that will continue to bind up if you don’t use proper lubrication.
