If you find out that the handle on the inside is staying out. Grab the wire right behind it and push it back into the wire housing. If need be get a wire lubricant tool that is generally used on bicycles and motorcycles two lubricate the inside of the tube housing.

Get a spray bottle with rubbing alcohol….spray it down really good…work the cable…close your hood…thank me later

FYI: wd40 is not a lubricant! It’s a penetrant that will continue to bind up if you don’t use proper lubrication.
