So far this A129 VIOFO daul dashcam works Great, Installed one in the new 2020 car, The only complaint I have with it is FM radio signals get weak from having the rear camera hooked up looking through the rear view window glass where the radio antenna is located in the glass, I guess most new cars have the shark fin antenna now, Just using the front camera takes care of this problem, But most of the time we use the bluetooth link for Music and other content anyways making it not a big deal, The passenger likes to playing Scotty videos etc while doing a Road trip as well anyways 😎👍 . O and remember if you want to Zoom in on a license plate just screen shot the paused image then ZOOM in and read it, Works Great.
I’m so excited to know you’re here in the Volunteer state Mr. Kilmer!! I would love to bring my vehicle to you to fix and analyze!! Are you taking new repairs 😂?? You sir are the only mechanic I would 110% trust!! 🙏
I agree that Bernie owes you lunch and a margarita or two. I just ordered some of his products because you brought it to my attention. Thanks for all the great information!
Actually you will always always get worse mileage while using Cruise Control. It's because it's constantly speeding up and slowing down over and over and over again. When you control the throttle yourself, you're often using a constant pressure with the throttle (if you actually know how to drive that is) and you're not braking constantly like modern cruise control systems to maintain a target speed and distance to vehicle (which is handy on long straight roads. I've tested this info with older and brand new vehicles, and so have countless others. Cruise Control is convenient, and you only lose a few mpgs, but using your foot is better (and safer, in case you need to avoid a hazard in a fraction of a second) for outright mpgs and will always keep you more alert while driving.
Something to watch out for on the smaller lithium type batteries ( little bigger then your hand ) with the miniature set of jumper clamps included. Since made to jump your car (fairly strong drain when your car battery is low), it doesn’t power small low draw items very well, like a little LED light or small personal fan. The draw is too small on those ( using the 5v micro usb plug ) and it powers itself off. So if you want to use smaller items good to check for this “ feature “ ( auto-off ) or look for a manual off, manual on. Cause of this, I didn’t use it much (thus didn’t charge it up much ) and it didn’t last near as long as it should have.
AC recharge kit.. Added a bump to my older dodge, ice cold!! Added a little bump to my mid-2000's VW.. Destroyed the ac compressor and ended up putting the car in the shop for a week costing $$$. Be careful
My Chevy Metro got is first carbon clean with 505 Cro at 274,000 miles. Before the carbon clean, I had to use 89 octane to keep it from detonating in the summertime. After the carbon clean I can use 87 again.
For a flashlight similar to the one scotty showed there is one called Olight Perun Mini, these will cost you around 70 bucks on average depending on the model and i believe these are also magnetic so you can stick them on the car hood or bay and light up your sight, I have an Olight baton 3 which I can clip to the brim of my hat and Just aim with my head to what ever im working on, they are great little flashlights for anyone wondering
@@MemphisMojo15s The Olight Perun Mini is a tiny flashlight that puts out an astonishing 1000 lumens, and fits almost anywhere. It has a two-way pocket clip, a magnetic tail cap, a heavily textured body, and a velcro attachment system for use as a headlamp. This rechargeable light is a perfect addition to any EDC, camping, hunting, survival, or emergency loadout. Olight Flashlights are high-end and high-power flashlights.
One thing I do to keep cooler especially here in Texas is to close off my passenger vents while driving. It makes logical sense when I’m not carrying passengers. Just make sure to open them back up when you pick up someone.
That's why I'll stick with my 1991 Dodge Daytona with a manually aspirated 3.0 liter V6 engine 5 speed with a set of Mickey Thompson Super Swampers on it and T birds on the roof so I can get a tan. Got 320,000 on the clock and never even changed the plugs.
#1 OBD2 scanner with live data. You can usually find one under $100. It not only directs you to a problem , but gives you good information that the fixed you make are working or not.
You know there is a fuel additive that I found called 104+. The one with the red label is the one you want. Really increases the gas mileage and cleans fuel injection too.
The fuel additive you recommend easily the worst product I've ever used. My mileage went from 28 to 16. I drove it 500 miles in one day...pitiful. I called the company...oh and I used both products. Here we are months later and it went to 15. Honda CRV so it shows on the dash. I put in some Gum out today and it went back up. I can't imagine what went wrong, but they never called me back. Stay away unless you want it to go down. I'd love to hear other experiences with the ATS product.
My friend was coming up on a line of parked cars and someone pulled over at the head of that line suddenly pulled a hard left and gunned it. They wrecked her new car and told the police that she passed them on the left, on the other side of the double line. The cop believed the guy until I recovered her dash cam footage and showed him. It clearly showed she was in her lane at a reasonable speed and the guy suddenly rammed her. The cop fixed the report. I once got sued for $50,000 because a local cop, who was angry about handling the accident for the state police, decided to call me at fault for getting rear-ended because he didn't like how I pulled off in the grass and he wanted to believe a hot young lady. But like Scotty said, it could be incriminating. So far they don't demand footage.
I don't know how a cop could "demand footage" anyway. It's your personal property to do as you wish (4th amendment, 1st amendment) and you certainly can't be required to incriminate yourself (5th amendment)
Hi Scotty, we have 2013 Prius, have had 3 Priu's since 05 and love that I have clean driving record and enjoy pretty good mileage if i keep my foot out of it! Anyway a cpl questions for your expertise 1) vehicle has death rattle when starting vehicle after it sits for a few days ( started when we switched to Kirkland Oil! Switched back to Mobile and was fine for about 4,000 miles, level still full) ( we have heard possible head gasket 2 years ago when we started researching this, Idk, but doesn't make sense to be! also oil is clean and antifreeze is clean! Praise The Lord) 2) when cruising vehicle runs fine ,but stuck in traffic for log periods of time or toodling around slowly admiring Christmas decorations and such vehicle starts detonating ! I put new Quality NGK plugs in it 6 mos ago, about 8,000 miles ago, vehicle has both issues still! Could this be dirty EGR or ?? even oxygen sensor? There is no Maint Required light or other on! Mi
@scottykilmer , I love your content man. Just started wrenching on cars again since my son bought his first car. Luckily we aren't chasing any problems and only cleaning/maintaining and of course, a few minor modifications - mostly aesthetic. You are entertaining, straight to the point and full of great info. I am still surprised that even at 70-80 mph on flat roads I can still get 38+ MPG on my newer Camry (which is the 4 cyl version). Going below 70 yields 40+ MPG (and this is also a non-hybrid Camry) but will usually result in a line of people behind you on the freeway as the speed limit is 70 but everyone goes 75-80 including the cops. I think one of the best flashlights I ever had was one that was about the length of a pen, maybe 1" in diameter, held 2 AA batteries, had a solid LED strip and was magnetic, and only cost about $10. The clip was magnetic so you could put it anywhere and see what you were doing and it was very bright having the solid 2" LED strip (not just small LED bulbs but a solid LED "strip" not these tiny little LED bulbs that don't put out that much or uneven brightness). Need to find another one like that as the clip did break off eventually (after a few years). Yeah that battery on that flightlight looks like a CR123 which is becoming more common it seems. I have an Energizer LED light that uses 2 of those CR123 batteries.
2.5 semi direct injected enigne + the 8 speed aisin transmission made the Camry more fuel efficient than a Hyundai Accent with the 1.4l engine. This car is a bargain and it drives so much better than any car in it's segment.
I have a 07 lexus and i noticed occasionally, there was a strong smell of gasoline coming from the engine compartment when the car was first started. I suspected fuel injectors were not spraying correctly. A month ago I used bernie's fuel cleaner, and haven't noticed that smell since, and I think the gas mileage may have improved a very slight amount. Not enough to crow about, but I do believe the fuel injectors benefitted.

Scotty, you could have done anything in your life, and be successful at it. For me, I'm glad you're a mechanic.
get yourself a midget flash light like Scotty showed cause you never know when it will come in handy to have it🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
I’m so excited to know you’re here in the Volunteer state Mr.
I tried the ATS chems and it fixed my rough idle and the engine running far too lean.
this stuff is legit
You are a good human being! Thank you for all the many many helpful tips!!
My Corolla 2007 with 250k gets 37mpg on highway @65mph without cleaner. They are just good 👍
Actually you will always always get worse mileage while using Cruise Control.
Thanks
AC cold on one side and not so cold on the other could also be a defective blend door.
You rock Scotty, good guy Scotty!
Thank you Mr. Scotty for the nice information, you are the king 👑
Techron complete fuel injection cleaner is the only one I use it works
How often should someone use ATS fuel & oil cleaner? Stuff is expensive! Great video! Thanks !
Much Gratitude Scotty
AC recharge kit.. Added a bump to my older dodge, ice cold!! Added a little bump to my mid-2000's VW.. Destroyed the ac compressor and ended up putting the car in the shop for a week costing $$$. Be careful
I am not even a “car guy” I just like to listen to Scotty Kilmer
I bought the ats chemicals both last year , haven't used the oil cleaner yet.
Another informative show Scotty
how much are they? i looked in their website but it doesnt say
My Chevy Metro got is first carbon clean with 505 Cro at 274,000 miles. Before the carbon clean, I had to use 89 octane to keep it from detonating in the summertime. After the carbon clean I can use 87 again.
Natural magic 😂😂😂😂
Very few things can get me to put down my xbox controller...and I'm glad this channel is one of them.
Lol! I’m glad I’m not the only one nervous about cruise control, like your wife, Scotty. I just can’t bring myself to use it.
Big up Scotty straight out of Jamaica 🇯🇲
Thx Scotty. Bought both treatments. Now to figure out which car to use it on.
Scotty, you never seem to amaze me, your videos are always great and I think you should have your own comedy show one day!
Hey, Scotty… you totally should start sharing cool footage of your road times with us! It will be fun!
Scotty, 3 years ago your video advised against using the DIY a/c gas can!

I Have OCD. IM VERY PROTECTIVE OF MY CAR. THANKS SCOTTY FOR ALL YOUR ADVISES😊
Hey scotty the only thing worth watching on RUclips 😂👍
this gentleman is so cool and got lots of knowledge.
It also looks like the Fenix LD15R.
Far more reliable...
Appreciate it Scotty, national gem!!🍻
Just did my 1998 Subaru with ATS cleaner for my oil and absolutely amazed the oil was dark and engine ran a lot smoother
This is not true 😂
Love your enthusiasm, work ethic & integrity.
i love this guy he is so down to earth love you Scotty i all way watch all your videos thank you jose iglesias
Scotty, please make a TOP 10 TOOLS FOR DIY (backyard mechanics)
#1 OBD2 scanner with live data. You can usually find one under $100. It not only directs you to a problem , but gives you good information that the fixed you make are working or not.
You know there is a fuel additive that I found called 104+. The one with the red label is the one you want. Really increases the gas mileage and cleans fuel injection too.
I’ve been learning a lot from Scotty. Thank You for sharing your knowledge!
Mi
head gasket, first thing to check if not that, there is a plate between the motor/transmission/inverter. look it up on youtube
Thanks!
HI SCOTTY,
JUST LOVE YOUR COMMENTS ESPECIALLY YOUR SENSE OF GREAT HUMOR AND SPOKEN KNOWLEDGE OF VEHICLES TO OTHER ISSUES!!!
YOU ARE MULTI TALENTED 👍😀🙏🙏
horses or mules get the same millage per lb. walking or running!!! think about it. you feed him corn and good hay. if he quits you can eat him if not well liked.. no 5$ per gal. food and usually friendly if you are friendly to him or her...wonderful video thank you tons scotty
Yeah that's impressive Mpg
2.5 semi direct injected enigne + the 8 speed aisin transmission made the Camry more fuel efficient than a Hyundai Accent with the 1.4l engine. This car is a bargain and it drives so much better than any car in it's segment.
Yep, I’ve got the same one, the 2.5. The mpg is incredible, averaged 42 over one 2200 mile trip.
How often do you need to use it once a month once a year just curious thank you😎
"505" is a fine name for me. Its name similar to another good product, "303 UV Protectant", and "Formula 409" general cleaner.
