    You're "old"?!? LOL. Naw, you're just right. Editing on a laptop is way, way better. You really have discovered and presented probably almost everything people should be aware of when considering one of these things, at least all the things I've run into with (older) iPad Pro models. For me, it is a media consumption device for commuting and carrying around, and for previewing photos and videos right after shooting them out on the road. (Hence, the 11" model is a better choice for me.) I have never, ever found one of these things even close to being a laptop replacement. This is a really great review!

      11" would probably be more enjoyable for me too. The 13" is a beast in the hands. Glad you liked the review!

      @ I’ve personally struggled to find uses for my M1 MacBook Pro, when I was in school it was so useful and now I just don’t know what to do with it. I feel like it’s a glorified Kindle, which I can use my phone for and a place to play chess other than that I just don’t see how it’s useful for someone that doesn’t draw. I agree with what you said with final cut just being so slow and I find that iPadOS just isn’t advanced enough for a pro user.

    • @TaylorBrauer
      @TaylorBrauer  8 дней назад

      @ interesting, thanks for sharing. Yeah, I’m glad I’m not the only one that finds Final Cut Pro challenging to work with. It’s like the interface is great for touch but it’s not ideal for workflows. I also couldn’t figure out the magnetic mask for the life of me.

    How’s your experience with the screen glass? Does it get scratched easily and screen protector is necessary or a good cover will do? BTW I completely disagree with people say it’s limited by iPadOS and they can buy a PC or Mac so they have a real computer. The whole point of iPad is doing something SIMPLER! Otherwise we already have Microsoft Surface pros, they are the exact thing people want from the M powered iPads, but why don’t they sell as much as iPads?

    • @TaylorBrauer
      @TaylorBrauer  8 дней назад +2

      @@kevinsmithfox4614 that’s a good question and I haven’t had any issues with it. It’s just an absolute fingerprint magnet. So, it’ll require a lot of wiping off with a microfiber cloth to keep it looking 100%.
      Yeah, I mean you have a good point with the Surface devices. For me personally, a surface isn’t appealing because of the underpowered and inefficient x86 processors. There’s Snapdragon but I don’t think Windows has a handle on adapting Windows 11 to ARM quite yet. And finally, having MacOS over Windows is a huge positive and I’ve been a Windows user most of my life. The QoL on MacOS is something Windows is far behind on, imo.

    I know this device is over kill for this, but would you recommend the 11” or 13” for college note taking? I wish I could consider the iPad Air, but I can’t stand 60hz screens anymore.

    • @TaylorBrauer
      @TaylorBrauer  7 дней назад

      If it were me, I'd say the 11" for note taking. The real recommendation is to go into the Apple store and see each in person. You never know which one you'd really prefer until you see it in person.

    That dirty screen makes me cringe every time you show it lol. I tried to clean my Alienware oled ultra-wide with screen cleaner and it left smears, since then I have seen a video and the guy said that those are hard to clean and scratch very easy. I need to clean the 32 in.4k oled too, but I'm scared to do it and also I need to figure how to get the smears off the ultra-wide

    • @TaylorBrauer
      @TaylorBrauer  10 дней назад +1

      It gets pretty gross quickly. A microfiber should work for most everything. I always dry wipe my OLEDs with a microfiber and never had any issues.

    • @nauscakes1868

      iPad screens are different than computer screens.
      I have an Alienware OLED too, may even be the same one as you, and I clean it with screen cleaner and a microfiber cloth. I sprayed the cleaner on the cloth. Cleaned it, and then did another pass with a cloth with water.
      No smearing, no scratches, but I wasn't exactly delicate. My screen is two years old now, so I'm waiting for the burn in to maybe show. ;)

    iPad is just a glorified screen to watch video, play games (with limitations), write notes, draw (great if an artist but doodling is a waste). Why for all this money and power can’t people manipulate files like on Windows. Many learning apps are developed in iOS the ones I need but that all I use it for. Because when I tried to create different files to download videos to and create a filing nested system it took forever on the iPad. It kept failing and just wasn’t smooth and any Apple info on it was rubbish. Who wants to pay for something with advance capabilities with a high price tag and it can do is essentially allow you to only look at it by watching things. Windows is actually office friendly and can watch videos, play games., play apps if made for Windows also. Can do everything iPad can do but certain companies make their apps only for MacOS and iOS and exclude Windows. If apps were made in both Windows and Apple only Apple lovers (in denial) regardless of how well they use iPad justifiably for the price tag would still buy Apple. Most people would always go to Windows cos Windows makes everything so easy and intuitive to use. Apple needs to do more with these machines housing M4 chips. Apple’s M4 chip is powerful but yet can’t do these simple office tasks smoothly. It would be nice to just be able to organise files the way office organise files (we all need to work in an office of some description), move files around easily, download into files easily at the basic level. Not impressed as I use my iPad for playing apps that I need made on iOS mainly. Exception portability is great.

      Yeah, for sure, I get your frustration. I think it fits the needs of a group of people and def isn’t a one size fits all kind of device. There’s some good alternatives out there particularly in the Microsoft Surface devices.

      The iPad Pro is pretty great for the use cases you mentioned and it's got the far superior screen. You'd just need to decide if you're fine with using it as a tablet or if you want to get a keyboard for more of a laptop setup. I'd recommend checking both out in the Apple store and see which seems better for what you want to do.
