I switched from lg oled 48c3 to this monitor. But after the TV, the hdr brightness was very low. The monitor's adjustment joystick was not working. I sent it back. I'm undecided about buying it again. I had the chance to check some settings with the software I downloaded to the computer. Sdr brightness was much better than hdr brightness in an absurd way. Could it be that I could not make a healthy setting because I could not enter the menu?

I turned off dolby vision and set monitor to HDR Peak 1000 but in the windows Advanced Display window, it shows peak brightness is 500 nits. Any Idea why it is not showing closer to 1000?

(70/30) I have a spyder X calibration tool. for this monitor should a do the calibration doing first factory monitor rest and then activate HDR 1000/true black? what would be the optimal procedure to calibrate the monitor on a MacBook pro m1 max? You plug in one thunderbolt 5 and it provides three full-speed USB-C ports. Full speed, due to the incredible Thunderbolt 5 interface. Ecosystem is a very important factor. Non Apple products just aren't going to support your Apple ecosystem like an Apple display will. And, I'm sorry, the quality of the image on these ultra-wide plastic displays is shockingly bad. And it's blinding. It glares.

Is there a way to see what frames your running on while gaming? I have the ps pro and I wanna see what frames I’m at while playing.

I tend to avoid working on that model iMacs of that year. Those AMD gpu will crap out. No getting around the fact the cpu and gpu are roasting pan HOT! I've run Ubuntu on one for a year before the gpu crapped out. Replaced it will another...month later crapped out too. Now years later I find out with a little tweaking. I could of jerry rigged a metal gpu from a Dell Voodoo laptop. Hence allowing me to run Ventura. Live and learn.

Thanks for the concise and useful information, Taylor! I'm researching this monitor as an option. I use mac computers (27-inch imac and macbook pro laptop) due to my work as a writer, translator, and editor, which involves reading text on the computer for 8 or more hours a day. (Also, I use three Adobe products on a consistent basis.) So, a good screen that displays text accurately and in focus is important. I've also heard and read eye doctors who recommend the retina display because it lowers the risk of eye strain and long-term vision damage. I wouldn't use the studio display for gaming, so that's not a factor. Neither is the camera, which I would need mostly for meetings. Other monitors I've checked at lower prices are 4K and don't have the 218 ppi that help make text on Mac screens so sharp. BenQ announced a 5K last fall, but it seems like it's not yet out for sale, and its price may be comparable (or higher) than the studio display. Any additional insight would be greatly appreciated.

Somebody tell this kid that the hdmi to usb cable he recommends in the begining of this video is useless since the usb type c port on this monitor is not for video signal, only for charging, SMH 😂😂

I feel like im FORCED to buy apple studio display to use with the mac mini M4 Pro. Because I'm using Mac mini m4 pro for complex documentary video editing, music production & writing ebooks. Here's why I think im forced: 4k monitors: I need a 27 inch because space limitations. If buy any 4K 27 inch monitor, then MacOS will either scale everything too big or too tiny. If I change the scaling to the right size which is 1440p then it hinders the performance while video editing. 4k 24 inch would work but rgey are basically non existant at this point. So 4k monitors are already out of the question. 1440p monitors: These monitors have the right scaling size show text blurry, which won't work for me staring at text all day trying to write an ebook. 1440p out of the question, same thing with 1080p. Therefore I am forced to buy the apple studio display which cost the same price as a used car because of scaling issues as its the only display that won't have scaling issues and will have sharp enough text to stare at all day. What's annoying me is that I keep seeing youtubers recommending 3rd party displays buy they are failing to mention the scaling issues which are leading there viewers into traps. Because they buy the display then come across scaling and performance issues which then leads them to return the display. (I know 4k displays work fine with simple things like browsing the Web, photo editing, writing etc. But if you are planning to high quality video editing for RUclips then you only have 2 options. 1440p or 5k.)

Trust me, learn to type on the touch it will change the game also touch controls are scary but the skill ceiling is just as high if not higher than on controller

why do you compare the coating on the OLED and IPS screens and then make it sound like IPS does a better job defusing the reflections? Has 0 to do with the panel, you can have either panel with either coating.

It's a solid upgrade over the GTX 1080. However, you simply traded one bottleneck for another. Before, the 1080 was holding the system back as the i7 6700 could handily max it out. Unfortunately, now, the i7 is what's holding back the 4070ti quite heavily. You would need to upgrade your entire rig to a more modern platform to get full utilization out of your new card.

Was using tn 1080p 60hz for long time. Did some searches decided on the dell one. Main flaw with hdr is win10's functionality but wont be issue between now and next year since i move to linux which at least now has only wip hdr. Overall crazy good monitor. Waiting as long as possible was a great choice since went from 0 to 100 in terms of specs.

Where is that screensaver from?

I have a 43” 16:9 Samsung Neo G7. 103 ppi. Works fine with an Intel macbook pro. There is no substitute for surface area.

This is an excellent review. I’m thinking for my own use, skip 13” iPad Pro and Magic Keyboard, go with 11” iPad Pro and a favorite case, then buy the new MacBook Air when it comes out soon. (I’m currently on an iPad Air, older model and Magic Keyboard but missing my 2011 MacBook Air.)
