'Three Voices': Video of Alex Murdaugh Allegedly with Son, Wife on Night of Murders Played in Court

- A video taken by Alex Murdaugh's son shortly before he was murdered on June 7, 2021, was played in court Wednesday. Lieutenant Britt Dove testified that you can hear three different voices in Paul Murdaugh’s video, although the visual focus of the video is a dog’s tail. Prosecutors allege this audio places the disgraced lawyer with his son and wife, Maggie, just hours before they were shot and killed at their South Carolina home.

Thank you for the link. I’ve looked all over for evidence or exhibits and haven’t had much luck
Wow the “little detective” solved his own murder. Justice. RIP Maggie and Paul.
Paul didn't deserve to be murdered but he was a piece of human waste just like his father.
This is why Alex fiddled with Paul's phone after he shot him.. he admitted to picking up Paul's phone but why pick up your son's phone after he was supposedly murdered by someone else literally seconds before? Alex's story doesn't add up
Something that has bothered me since the first interview. You worried about your son's phone falling out of his pocket while his brains are splattered out in the barn? Makes no sense! That was his reason for his prints on the phone.
Ya he literally admitted that he "tried to do something with it"

Fainting.......

He killed his son . How evil can one person be!
thats just the tip of the iceberg. so many other people died around this guy mysteriously and he stole a ton of money. hes a straight monster
He’s not guilty. You’re misinformed

He doesn't listen to the voice in the clip with curiosity (since that IS the perpetrator's voice)
He just looks down and cries.
Guilty.
Glad u aren’t on the jury then
Yes, his reaction says everything!
I agree .. he's going to prison for killing them
His body language...check his body language.
The nod, the head lowering, his breathing. He seems to be reliving that time in his head.
Yes - and his older lawyer was very much taking that in and looks like he is believing it, but pushing on...
Reliving that moment doesn't bother him nearly as much ...as the realization ...of his voice there at that time ........is going to send him to prison for the rest of his life ...He has no soul ..He plotted this for awhile ..He and he alone made sure Paul and Maggie where there that night ..Neither one wanted to go
The way his lawyer looked at him after hearing the video...WOW! they know he's guilty, so sad...praying for justice for the wife and son
of course they know
It was a reaction...I think he made a noise cuz he was about to start crying and was tryna hold it in
this was my first thought... but maybe he was crying cause he misses his wife and son. Also understandable if he didn't kill them. probably guilty, but would be a terrible shame if he was set up.
@@bermchasin 98% of the time we don't get to hear the voices of our loved ones...as a person with only 4 living family members left that would have broke me
Not the first time they've heard it
well by his reaction he sure did verify who was on that tape and when.
Goes to show how low a person will go for love of money + drugs. Profoundly disgusting.
absolutely explains why alec handles Paul's phone when he found the bodies he was trying to get rid of that video but was unsuccessful
Why else would any father have the least interest in his dead sons phone at such a time.
Absolutely!!! That is very telling, that a father would be interested in his dead son’s phone. And Alex said the phone was in his son’s back pocket…. How on God’s green earth does a phone just pop out???
can't even hardly look at him he makes me sick
Right, and thats what he thought was important after seeing his sons brains splatted everywhere! "Let me check his cellphone." Certainly doesnt look very good for Alex. Not that it did anyway, but this is pretty bad.
can't they ping Alex's phone to cell towers to verify his location that night or did I miss that
He’s crying when he hears his own voice on the video and knows he’s screwed.
tOTALLLY, HOPE THE JURY SAW HIM DOING THIS!
There's more than just the voices.... can't wait to see the video 👁👁
Speculative 😂
If you look closely at around 5:01 you can see him briefly look toward the jury. It’s an act for sure.
Or he gets upset at the voice of his loved one
I love how the attorney threw up his arms and said, "Did Alect say NO I WASN"T THERE!". Really made point there.
Why is Alex allowed to sit and talk to his lawyers after court is dismissed? I’ve watched other trials where the defendant is immediately removed after dismissal. Is it another example of preferential treatment?
Not preferential treatment on this issue. South Carolina allows this in court.
they definitely don't treat him like a defendent in a double murder case.
protocols differ from state to state
He has a private atttoney they come visit you in jail too that’s normal
Been watching the Antifreeze murder trial and Jensen also speaks to lawyers after close.
This case is absolutely off the rails
@ashleyyy1 isn't it!!! ?? I am fascinated!
It’s definitely super intriguing! I have so many questions and I hope I get some answers lol
Display a time-line so the jury can see everything.
YES! Also did the corner give a time of death for the victims? Does anyone know?
Oh they will. They save that for closing arguments to wrap it all up and have it fresh in the jury's mind
@@janethinojosa7519: Yes, in a revised court filing the State presented the time of death at between 8:30 and 10:07 when the 911 call was made by Alex.
So Alex had time to get rid of the gun and clothes.
If this ain’t a perfect example of poetic Justice, I don’t know what is.
Buster should know if that's his dad's voice. If so, he could have answers to whether or not his dad was there when his mom and brother died. He may still have loyalty to his dad, so he may not say publicly or in court, but he'll know in his heart.
All he does is sit in court, smirking and chewing gum and appearing to be without much emotion or concern. I doubt he recognizes his own voice.
@@Annie497 he’s probably only worried about his inheritance
Im sorry id rather plead the fifth then get up there n lie
Don’t look like he is getting much once Alex debtors collect 😊
He knows that’s his dads voice.
I thought for a second that he was going to stand up and scream "I did it"
Yes. One female voice. And two adult male voices. One close (the one holding the recording phone) and one distant (not holding the phone).
Yes, I noticed one man's voice further away
Case is over at this point. I feel so bad for Buster. I can’t even imagine what he’s going through as he learns this information.
Fortunately, this is not how the US justice system works - it is in the constitution that all are entitled to a fair trial. We are only partway through. Some people are watching too many US crime dramas and jumping to conclusions.
Is the reasonable presumption that Alex, his father, lied to him also, about his whereabouts during the murders? Seems so. Would this trial be the first time Buster is exposed to the truth of his father's whereabouts?
Buster knows.... Because he knows his father who involved his children in various illegal activities as they got older. He supplied thousands of ecstacy tablets and cocaine for his sons to sell at the open air raves their vast Moselle property was renowned for hosting where party goers travelled from California and even England to attend. They were legendary raves with an entrance fee, alcohol being sold and any type of drug you can imagine. It went on for 3 years or more and must have netted them 100s of 1000s of dollars in tax free profit. Buster knows.
I kinda agree.
@@Lucienne-zz1sw NAH ITS OVER.
Alex: you just sank my battleship
I hear Alex's voice you can tell from listening to all of the interviews he's done so he was there and this is right before their phones permanently locked. Not looking good. Also no one else was at home with them that could account for the third voice
I couldn’t even imagine sitting and listening to all the evidence against yourself. Wow 😬he’s crazy
He cried during the playback of the recoding. Cryin cause he knows he’s toast.
Curious. Does anyone know. Did the defense team have knowledge of this video (via discovery) prior to it being submitted at the trial? Or was this the first time they are seeing and hearing it?
I would like to know
Certainly has Alex's attention now!!!
That attorney walking all over the place gives me a headache, just stand still fool and ask the questions.
I wonder if he picked up Paul's phone to erase the snap chat but realized it was locked
Ya and that's probably why in one of the police/car interviews, Alex went ON and ON about how Paul was so private about his passcode and nobody would ever be able to guess it.
Definitely three distinctive voices.
Alex getting uncomfortable
Because you would be totally fine sitting there listening to your deceased spouse and son’s voices? In your own murder trial? You ppl are gross..
@@kevinjamesposs9229 of course not, especially if I was the one who killed them, which I believe he is 100% responsible for

He exudes evil. Textbook pyschomurderer.
Blubbering 😂 funny word
That's the moment he realized he's done!
That was the most damning evidence I'v ever heard! Agree with LeTea & Tales, his lawyer looked a little ticked off more than surprised. More like outraged. Alex looked down and kept wiping the sweat from his brow. Talk about awkward moments! Sor sorry for his oldest son because now he knows his dad murdered his brother and mother.
All so unnecessary. You would expect better problem solving skills from a prominent lawyer! The way the criminal mind works is like a machine. No thought for the pain he has inflicted on his surviving son.
I dont know if I'd start feeling sorry for Buster just yet. They reopened the murder case where Stephen Smith was found bludgeoned to death in the middle of the road and they have multiple witnesses that link Buster to the crime.
This case just baffles me on so many levels.
Evil narcissistic sociopaths care about no one but themselves. To your average normal person, it is baffling.
If you watch the docuseries Low Country its obvious Paul was an out of control liability to the family. Furthermore, Paul didnt call his father from the hospital after the boating accident. He called his Grandfather. Guessing that death of the teenager in the boating accident set all this in motion. Then on top of that Maggie was divorcing Alex. There's your motive. Plus Alex was high on opioids not thinking clearly at all. Maybe super paranoid.
Just that morning the law firm Alex’s family founded busted Alex with evidence that he was stealing big money from the company. Old Alex had what you could call a very bad day!
Yes, your analogy explains it all best, but do add in the part about the drugs Alex was addicted to....
Great acting from Alex while the recording is playing!
Display a visual timeline for the JURY!
That second male voice was definitely high pitched like Alex's. Also explains why he went immediately for Paul's phone.
from what little i've heard alex speak it sounds like him yelling something like "get it off him."
Wonder if Paul's phone had a password. Makes sense he would pick up his phone if he knew there could be evidence on it.
It did because special agents in explained how long it took them to guess the correct code as Alex didn't know it.
@@leannehickey1986 thank you for that information. I haven't been able to watch this trial as I'd like to but I have always had so many questions because I love not far from there

He has no soul this would never have eaten him alive had he not gotten in trouble for it! It's eating him alive because he is looking at his dismal life from the suburbs to life in prison without parole.
It’s not the voice that’s the issue it’s what the man says “Bubba “ what attacker knows rhe dogs name ?????
Alex said in the car interview video that after he reached Paul he tried to turn him over, then Quote "his cell phone popped out of his pocket, and I started to do something with it, thinking maybe....but then I put it back down really quickly" His initial statement to SLED in the car. HOWEVER according to Chief Deputy Kenneth Kinsey with the Orangeburg County Sheriff’s Office report, THIS is actually what the evidence says "According to the report, a cell phone in Paul Murdaugh’s back pocket had been removed and a blood stain was found *inside the pocket*. Kinsey said he believes the phone was taken out of Paul’s pocket by someone else after he was killed and the blood stain was produced during its retrieval. It did not 'pop' out of his pocket! So many contradictions between what Alex says happened and what evidence actually shows. I bet he was going to try to get rid of that video but didn't really have time to because he know timelines can cost you a case. Thoughts?
Paul’s sign on was his face.
Hmm no sense really. He did get rid of his clothes and guns so why not phones as well. You just need to put them off and gps doesn’t work anymore.
There are others dead, shot, left on side of roads, points directly to him! Young Young Men!
Could you imagine being his wife & son and seeing very clearly he's killing you. This dude.....uhg
His reaction is scary, like he's losing it.
Ole Alex thinking to,himself "I do believe I'm screwed"!
I am unable to make out what was said in the video. Anyone able to transcribe? My Scottish accent is likely difficult to understand too.
Does anyone have a transcript of what is said in the video? What are your guesses?
He was crying cause he knew that was there last moments before he shot them
Hes crying because he feels sorry for himself
I imagined he is crying when:
a) he thinks it may impress the jury (he is a criminal lawyer)
b) he knows he did that to his closest family
c) he killed them and all because he was a thief
I just want him to stop the bobble head to bring attention to the crying!

Some people have been saying that Maggie was texting her friends or talking with her friends, saying that she was going to divorce Alex. Have I missed this taking place in the courtroom during the trial?!? Just wondered where the proof was. Thanks.
Sounds like Alex voice first with dog barking..then Maggie telling Alex Babe don't hurt yourself..then Paul saying get him Pop...referring to the dog. The video was of the dogs tail, maybe that's how they were lured into the kennel area?
Thank you for this. Then they are debating whether it's a kitty or chicken? The words were so hard to make out.
So, does the video show Alex?

Even if it is, that does not prove that he murdered the two, only that he was present at that specific time, if it is his voice. This is not how justice works.

How incredibly sad !!! Literally 2 minutes before being brutally murdered by their husband and father. At least one of them if not both knew they were being betrayed in the worst possible way !! I can’t imagine the fear. Especially for Maggie who I believe would have definitely known her husband had murdered their baby in the most disgusting way which is a pain worse then death and she was next. Again how beyond grosss to watch him shoot her then walk up to her step on her and shoot her in the head too. Fry him !!!!

AM was sleeping and never at the kennel? This blows his alibi... Or is that 3rd voice some stranger? This is all I need to prove he was involved in the murder. Enough to convict? Maybe not..OJ did it...AM did it
Why two different guns? Was there a significant space of time of death and distance between the bodies?
To make it appear two different shooters

This is why he was trying to get sons cell phone off of his body. Only thing that makes sense.
He can't even look at the video and tries so hard to make himself cry.. pathetic
