That's absolutely horrific. I just cant imagine what was going through her sweet little mind. She was old enough to know she was left alone. The pain must had been horrific for her. So many don't understand what your body goes through when passing from dehydration & starvation.

I'm in Melbourne Australia and I'm a mother. My kids are young adults and 15 yrs old and I still worry leaving them home when I go to work. Which I'd crazy as they are grown but I do. I can't believe this so called mother and she isn't upset. I'm in tears over this case.
I have two kids and I have always enjoyed going on trips with them. I’m not into partying I love taking my kids to the zoo, games, museums. I am soo beyond angry for this baby. I wish the cops would’ve been called by a neighbor.

I cannot imagine chilling at the beach and sleeping at night knowing your kid is starving. How disconnected someone like that must be, ordering drinks at the bar while the poor baby is dehydrated.

The older lady is an aunt of the mother. She says that when the grandparents went back to Ecuador her neice pushed her away, became estranged - so she did not know what the arrangements were on a day to day basis for her great-neice.

If my neighbors baby was crying for an extended period you better believe I’d be over there checking to see if everything is ok or if they need help. As a mom myself, hearing a baby cry sets off a natural instinct in me to help.

How do you know they heard? I only hear my TV or music. I can't hear what my neighbours are up to, and I don't want to hear. You don't expect someone to leave their baby alone for weeks, so no one is listening out for that.

She just went to sleep she would have been to exausted to cry by that point people who die of dehydration and or starvation just peacefully drift off to sleep I hope that makes you feel better somehow but I see it all the time with dementia patients and honestly it’s the most peaceful way for them to go. It’s still super sad that she was suffering before that point and her crying was harrowing to hear almost unbearable to listen too and I can’t imagine how heartless you would have to be to do something like this.
Not to mention dying of loneliness and abandonment by those who should love and protect you.

I hate to do this but it isn’t that peaceful. Animals have been known to eat their young when they start starving. Also humans have resorted to cannibalism to avoid that pain. Imagine how desperate one has to be to eat another person.

I was just thinking about this if I was in that position and quite literally I just found my daughters body they’re dead I would be completely devastated and torn apart. It’s so crazy cuz I was just in PR, got back Sunday and I had my neighbor come by everyday to feed my cats and clean the litter box. I looked forward to the videos he sent me everyday and this woman left her baby alone. It’s truly insane!

When I was postpartum, I had dreams all the time that I left my kid & forgot about her somewhere. I'd wake up in a cold sweat, having to stop myself from screaming, & would instantly go to her to make sure she was there & OK. I can't imagine getting to the driveway knowing I was just leaving my kid alone like that, let alone on a plane & to a whole other country. It makes me want to have a panic attack just to think about. She's absolutely heartless.

Yes that is the sad problem too. Some people might think “oh it is none of my business” or they are afraid of the person they are confronting. However, I can’t imagine the awful pain the baby endured and I would have checked on her if I heard the crying. Just so, so sad.
My cousin fostered our other younger cousin’s child because she was being neglectful. It’s worth it to get in someone’s business when it comes to an innocent baby. I wish they would have called child protective services because after so many times of knowing she left the child alone this was bound to happen
*as a father who had an unfortunate physical and mental breakdown last year at my daughter age of 1 I never once gave up my responsibilities as a father! I put all my emotions aside to be there for my daughter!*

I know I’m stressing about leaving our three fur babies for 2 days with plenty of dry food and water and with my husband’s sister is coming by each day to give them wet food and check on them.

We don't know how much the neighbors could hear, and they were probably in and out of their own homes to go to work etc. And really, who would even fathom that a baby was left alone. If they heard the baby crying more than usual, one might think she was teething or having a particularly fussy time. I don't think it would cross someone's mind that a mother would leave a baby unattended for over a week because it is so unbelievable. Let's place the blame on the appropriate people and not on any neighbors who are likely feeling bad enough on their own without strangers condemning them on the internet.

The mother is speaking like it’s “a matter of fact” attitude with no emotion, no tears, nothing. The aunt doesn’t seem phased, no emotion either. This precious innocent baby is in peace and in a better place while the mother will rot and suffer in jail well deservingly.

I have a feeling the baby cried a lot due to the mother being an uncaring, selfish, demon. Neighbors may have been used to hearing crying, I dunno tho. I’d definitely be alarmed and check on the baby, I’m also nosey and would have noticed her not coming around.
I noticed the houses were close together and had the same thought as you. I know people mind their own business alot but you'd think someone would wonder about the crying. The poor baby had to be crying a lot.
This whole family is messed up. This lady also had an older daughter that was staying with her parents and she could’ve taken the baby to them to watch the baby also but she didn’t. The grandparents seemed to never check up on who was even watching the baby and then when they find out the baby was dead after being left behind in the house they forgave her right away and felt sorry for her this is crazy
I think the mother is even more to blame for that. Some families are pushed away by people that family tends to try and reach out. There are limits and the family wouldn't think their own child would stoop so low to neglecting a child to her death.
The families issurs definitely played a role, from what I recall she had many, many options for someone to care for her child and she just selfishly chose no one to care for Jaylen. She deserves everything she will get when she is in prison
In the stairwell, didn’t the aunt say that the parents/grandparents had returned to Ecaudor sime time ago? She said that the mother had not got on with her, and since then distanced herself from her aunt and other family members - so that they did not know what the day-to -day arrangements were for the baby.
@@lila-gracenunyasun1334nah she was a terrible mom, people were tired of babysitting because she was constantly asking. She would also almost never pick the child up when she said she would. She’d leave the baby with people for days, when they only agreed to watch the baby for a few hours or one day. Not to excuse what this woman did whatsoever, she is the only one to blame for her actions. I’m sure she could have easily made a phone call and told someone she left the baby after landing in Puerto Rico or whatever. That would still be horrible and dangerous, but far less cruel than just letting the baby go the way she did. I can’t think of anything mean enough to say about this woman.

The way the mother spoke was like she was reporting a robbery or something and NOT the actual death of her baby due to her actions. So heartbreaking.
Not even a robbery is like reporting that your car license plate was missing when you woke up this morning.
I had to skip forward for not to hear that poor baby last moments. This is beyond horrific. She is a monster.
Anytime I hear a baby crying I think of this. Even when my granddaughter cries. My daughter feels the same. So sad.

@@anthonym840 congratulations. My oldest, I adopted from my mom’s daycare. She was being neglected at home. Now I have two grandchildren 4 yrs & 3 months girls. I watch them 3 plus days a week and send them home bathe and stomachs full. I just can’t imagine leaving a child.
The world needs more grandma’s like you. Too often they’re complacent in abuse

She's a wicked, vile woman for doing this to that precious baby. All she had to do was get someone to watch her. I can't understand as a mother how anyone could do something so heinous to their own child, it doesn't compute. Post partum is real, but that's why you need to ask for help, and it sounds like she refused support from her aunt who probably would have loved a week or two with her great-niece. It's okay to ask for help, it's not okay to abandon your baby.
I can't imagine the fear and torture this baby endured. And by her selfish mother. The way she lied and showed no emotions... I hope she's tormented about this for the rest of her life, but I worry she's too demented for that.
