I initially was making Buddha Bowls but it all looked so crazy in one bowl so I show you them in little bowls. My favourite way to eat these meals is ALL TOGETHER! Literally was on cloud 9 munching through all the recipes. Hope you guys like the recipes! xxxx
Rachel Ama I left my beautiful rolling pins in an old apartment and cried...then I emptied a wine bottle and made sweet potato roti lol. The wine bottle made a great rolling pin...
Rachel, these all look amazing! Thank you for sharing. I want to get the specific recipes but the link in the description doesn't work :( can you update it, or put the full recipes in the description? Thank you!
You are such a ray of light for vegan cooking, i can actually follow the way you cook which makes such a big difference. Thank you for all the effort you make in producing such delicious food!
You are like an artist in the kitchen! You are so creative and it looks so beautiful. And you seem to do it with inspiration of the moment Love the recipes 😊
Another wonderful vlog. I pressed like right at the beginning with you dancing and singing. I do that when I cook. Thanks for these recipes. I will try all.
Everything looks yummy 😋! In Grenada they call the fritters fish cakes 🙂. I'm going to add some nori to mine for the seafood flavor. Can't wait to make/eat it all. Thanks!
This is a big Buddha bowl feast! Everything is delicious. Never thought of using artichoke for the saltfish. I would add some ripped up nori and dulse too. Gives it that "fish" flavor -- if that's what you're looking for.
Doubles or roti, either way...this was awesome, Rachel. I soo need to get on sharing my family's vegan Trini recipes. Some tamarind sauce on the channa, or some mango chutney on top of that salad?? With a drop of kuchela?? Yum! Oh, and I stan soo hard for Chief curry powder...seriously the best out there. I highly recommend it (it's on Amazon). Thanks for this!! 💚
Rachel Ama No prob! I grew up in Trinidad with a mango tree and a coconut tree in my Granny's backyard and weekends were mango chutney/curry mango/red mango/kuchela (and soursop ice cream!!!) making time and I was her little helper, so my kids are obsessed with all those things now, lol! ALSO...Matouk's green seasoning is great with Caribbean-inspired dishes too. It's perfect for when you're in a pinch and don't have time to prep your seasonings. It's another Trinidad-made product that I grew up seeing in my Granny's kitchen. She had her own special green seasoning recipe that she'd keep in a glass bottle too of course, but Matouk's was an awesome option as well. Thank you so much for your videos, btw. You are a treasure!!
Josanne Phelps I swear I make myself hungry every morning just thinking about all the Trini food I need to veganize for my family, lol. The list keeps getting longer the more I remember from my childhood. It's a struggle!! 😂😂😂
Chief is the best , or the ones you get from the vendors in the market especially chaguanas. I am just starting out my youtube channel, will be sharing vegan foods with a caribbean theme as well, although i make my dhalpurie totally different
this is the first video i've seen of yours and i'm subscribing!!! amazing recipe!! I've never heard of those mushrooms before or that roti!! Beautiful colors and you have a lovely personality!!
Amazing recipes as always Rachel! I love caribbean food! Those vegan salt fish fritters look incredible! And I need that kale and mango salad in my life ahaha! Love those corn cobs! 😍😍😍
Thanks for sharing this I'm not vegan but I've been vegan on some days lol. I'm carribean and it's good to see how to incorporate carribean flavours in a vegan way. I love the roti idea!! I've got to make that now can I use a normal frying pan?
THIS is what we need YES Rachel, the RUclips vegan community is great but it’s amazing to see more diverse recipes! I’ve never cooked Caribbean food myself and I can’t bloody wait to make all of these, variation is exactly what I’ve been looking for- thank you!
So glad I found your channel!!! I have been craving fish cakes (that’s what we call the salt fish fritters in 🇧🇧Barbados🇧🇧 )since I became vegan and it’s really great to find some West Indian vegan recipes to make the transition more familiar. Thank you so much for sharing. I will definitely give the fish cakes and some of your other recipes a go!...and yeah we say “plantin” lol
Instead of frying the plantain all the time you can spray a light coating of vegetable spay on a tray or silicone sheet lightly salt with sea salt and spray the top of the plantain also and bake in oven it comes out sweeter and less fat and not oil you will not have to pat dry or lay on paper towel.
Okay so I made the fish fritters for dinner and OMG IT IS AMAZING AND THE SALAD ...OMG..I MADE A ORANGE JUICE DRESSING WITH IT SO GOOD AND I ADDED BREAD CRUMBS TO THE FRITTERS ...ON FLEEK ..STRAIGHT POPPIN ..ALL THA WAY!!!
Everything LOOKS Amazing!! I will def try them. Also just a tip on the salt fish fritters. Try mixing dried roasted seaweed in them to give it a lil fish taste😉
Mmm yum! The recipes all looked delicious. I’m going to try the “salt fish” fritters or accras. Oh and the roti looked bomb! Very doubles-esk, LoL. Plantin down in a Trinidad 🇹🇹
I initially was making Buddha Bowls but it all looked so crazy in one bowl so I show you them in little bowls. My favourite way to eat these meals is ALL TOGETHER! Literally was on cloud 9 munching through all the recipes. Hope you guys like the recipes! xxxx

you can, depending on the size of your pan, you might need to make the roti a little smaller so it fits and gets an even distribution of heat 🧡
