Frying in sesame oil will damage the taste - instead, use peanut oil or canola to fry, and dab sesame oil into your sauce or over the top when finished! A little goes a long way :)
I would have also added Kalamata olives and thick slices of cucumber to the bowl that had the feta cheese and pickled red onions since it's a really nice Greek flavor. Fresh ginger keeps for quite a while in the fridge I would never use powder because it just doesn't have the same flavor
I'm confused as to why these are called Buddha bowls? As a Buddhist myself with a dad that is super religious and follows Buddha's way, a Buddhist meal doesn't contain any meat, garlic, or onions.
Because people love to just steal someone's culture and just ha-ha and commercialize it up. It makes people view the word Buddha differently. It's a word rather name that is supposed to carry weight in the world, but they couldn't care less.
@@jenna-eq5pc you must be kidding right? Your ignorance is clearly showing. The big guy is budai. Gautama buddha in reality, by the time he achieved enlightenment was extremely thin. He was performing ascetic penance. That resulted in him fasting a lot. Being from the kshatriya family(ruling and warrior caste) even before he became a monk, he was still extremely fit.
Buddhists can eat onions and garlicss, also Buddha never told you can't eat non-veg, he told one shouldn't kill and eat or any animal shouldn't be killed for you to eat. You can eat non veg that's already dead or is not killed for you(like from a butcher you ask to kill a chicken for you). Buddha told this because monks ate what was given to them as bikshu which means they go around with their bowl to each person and people who are ready will give them whatever they have at home as monks can't buy something for themselves, so people are giving it out free as their offering to a biku so a monk shouldn't be perticular about what he/she gets. They can't say 'oh I don't eat this'. That's why Buddha made that law. Also as a fact, Buddha died from food poisoning after eating mushroom and pork which was offered to him by a poor woman. He knew that was stale but still had it, atlast Buddha died of food poisoning and dissentry which was a serious and common cause of death in early India. This same is mentioned by His Holiness Dalai Lama, his favourite dish is pork and he mentions how his brother told him that his mother while visiting him brought his favourite pork that she went to the butcher and bought rather than buying pork that's already killed not particularly killed for you(which is followed by almost all Tibetan Buddhists).
Can you add meat to these? Due to past medical issues, I cannot eat soy products. I primarily eat veggies and stick to fish or chicken when I'm cooking.
I’m a Buddhist and can’t stand how the buddha has been so commercialized like this. The Buddha statue is in every restaurant or bathroom to offer a zen and exotic vibe and I hate it. Do y’all think my religion is an aesthetic or trend ? How about it if we put a Jesus statue or some Islam thing in bathrooms and restaurants for aesthetic purposes? And now you are calling food witb Buddha’s name in it? STOP IT
I understand what you're saying but I think if you put Jesus or Mary statues around your house/restaurant Christians and Catholics would just be happy and assume you're a part of the same religion and aren't afraid to show it.
Too cumbersome. So many different ingredients to wash cut and cook. And it's not healthy to eat overnight vegetables. It is not feasible for single household.
So disappointed to see chicken in the recipees! Dont call it Buhda bowls! Buhda was about compassion. When you eat meat there is no compassion. There is the ingredient called cruelty.
Who care about the name? People make a big deal if NOTHING 😂😂😂 just a enjoy the food it would do some good maybe people are cranky because they are starving 😅
That music would drive me crazy
Thank you Tasty, back at it again, reading my mind when I´m trying to think of meal ideas for the week
Everything looks delicious!
The answer for my life.
This is exactly what I was looking for 🧡🧡🧡
Such a pleasure to watch. So colorful. Music is fun 👍
OMG Buddha bowls 🥣 have become my favourite food. I literally eat one for lunch every day.
Terrific wow
Frying in sesame oil will damage the taste - instead, use peanut oil or canola to fry, and dab sesame oil into your sauce or over the top when finished! A little goes a long way :)
It's probably untoasted sesame oil which is much more neutral tasting than the toasted sesame oil that is used for flavor accent.

Amazing recipes👏
That music for that long lol🤪
I would eat Thursday's bowl. Maybe substitute some stuff in the others.
I have my doubts about eating raw kale, but looks good !
It tastes like spinach if cooked good in omelette's
Thanks, Tasty! We're back again.
I wish I could have these on recipe cards
If you don't own a printer you could type some up on a simple word doc then take to a copier place and have them printed on card stock
How much is "2 bunches" of greens? Approx ounces is helpful. Love these recipes
One bunch is one bundle. Most greens are sold or picked in bundles

Catchy alliteration
No garlic? Lame.
Because Buddha is usually seen as a big guy and these bowls are supposed to be big and hearty and nourishing

Since Jesus is my Lord, I just call my bowls, veggie bowls.
There is no chicken no meat in a Buddha bowl. A Buddha bowl is a vegetarian.
not necessarily
@@tipshustle856 Buddhist are vegan almost all the time and Buddha was vegan
Don't forget no onions or garlic either.
How long is it gonna take y’all to realize nobody’s calling these Buddhist meals it’s just a name

What could you use instead of butternut squash? Not a fan. Thanks for the recipes!!!
I like to use yams or sweet potatoes. Or if you like acorn squash or spaghetti squash, they are wonderful.,

I don't see why not
Any suggestions on a tahini replacement? Allergic to Sesame!
Sunflower butter would be pretty similar in texture and taste. Get the unsweetened kind
@@gloopgloopglorp Thank you! Perfect!
A “Buddha bowl” is really just an unmixed salad. Don’t know why everyone is being so dramatic
Okay I'll call it a bowl of food

How much protein has it got tho

Buddha bowls do not contain any kind of animal meat!
I wanted to enjoy this video, but the music was an absolute nuisance.
The music becomes very annoying after about one minute.
Why is everyone watching this so upset in the comments.
My thoughts exactly!
If these same ingredients were served on a flat plate, nobody would eat them. 😂 much like “mason jars”
Substitute for tofu
Silly music, speeded up video and no narration may seem "hip" ,but it's rather fruitless. You come away with nothing. Too bad.
I agree, I tried writing down the ingredients and even in slow motion, the ingredients are way too fast for me to write down. I just gave up
Buddha never had chikpeas
It's meditiranien.
Too much oil!
soo much!
Misto oil spray would cut so much of that oil.

Is overnight vegetable a nightshade family ?
She was on some hard drugs and hallucinating, along with psychotic episodes.
