    Thanks so much for the video plus the YN 560 IV tutorial. Both very helpful. But I'm new to flash and trying to figure out how to set up the 2 units to work together with the speedlite off camera. Any suggestions how to figure it out or fing another tutorial? Thanks Joe

      @JoeJacksonJr  7 лет назад +1

      Hello Fred, its explained in these tutorials. If you want the flashes to work as one together. Just put them in the same group.. That way when you control the power it controls all the units in that group. Hope this helps.

    Hello Joe...I've had my flashes and transmitter quite a while now, but recently noticed that the transmitter isn't emitting the infra-red beam on it. Can you help me out?

    • @JoeJacksonJr
      @JoeJacksonJr  6 лет назад +1

      Hey Patrick, I am pretty sure the transmitter does not have the IR focus assist. If it does I have completely overlooked it all the past few years :-D

    Will this work with the Nikon SB600 flash?

    Joe - question .. i can't seem to set group A channel 1 and group B channel 2 on this unit as two separate flashes. do you know how?

    • @JoeJacksonJr
      @JoeJacksonJr  7 лет назад +1

      Hey MT. This controller may be different from what your used to. Channel is used to keep your flash units and the controller all on one channel so its not being triggered by other flash units or triggers. You then control your flashes by the groups. So for example set this controller and all the flash units to channel 1. Then you can set the flash units to seperate groups. So if you have 2 speedlites on a light stand you want fired together, you can set them both to group A. Then if you have a single speedlite for a background light. You can set it to group B. You then can use the controller to control the speedlites (flash units) by their groups. Hope this helps.

      i am using this 580tx to trigger rf603C ii for three studio strobes and one of them is paulc buff 1600 .. i'd guess i can only use one channel and one group fro these lights, right?

    • @JoeJacksonJr
      @JoeJacksonJr  7 лет назад +1

      Correct, just use one channel and then you can put each one of the triggers on seperate groups.

    Hi Joe, I bought this and a YN968EX-RT, I cannot get them to connect, are these controlers just for the yn560 speedlights?

    • @JoeJacksonJr
      @JoeJacksonJr  5 лет назад

      Yes they are just for the 560 series and their newer manual only flashes.

      @@JoeJacksonJr another question if you dont mind please, Im just starting out which is what brought me to your channel. so now that I have the yn968 and another yn560 IV could I buy the yn e3 rt to control the 968 with e ttl off camera and then use the yn560 in optical slave mode? would that work as i need both flashes off camera with umbrellas. TIA!

      I would suggest using all radio wireless or things could end up out of sync. Hope this helps.

      You have not got it pushed back far enough into the hot shoe. Loosen the twist lock and push it further back. Should do the trick ;-)

    hey Joe i really cant figure out why i get Black Bars on top of my photos when shooting 1/250 sec. with this flash controller. My flash sync speed on my Sony a7ii is 1/250

    • @JoeJacksonJr
      @JoeJacksonJr  8 лет назад +1

      I can tell ya, that your shutters you seeing. Your x-sync speed is only about 1/180sec on that camera. Lower you shutter speed to 1/180 and you should be fine. :-) Keep in mind shutter speed mostly only effects ambient light anyway with flash photography. Hope this helps.

    • @ultramuc466
      @ultramuc466 8 лет назад +1

      +Joe's Photo & Video Channel thanks Joe however on dpreview they say the sync speed og the a7ii is 1/250 and also when the flash is on camera i can get 1/250 with no Black Curtain

    • @JoeJacksonJr
      @JoeJacksonJr  8 лет назад +1

      martin heleabadi When the flash is on the camera yes. But often when you go throw a transmitter, sometimes there is delays with some cameras. I am not 100% why this is, but it happens. Even Gavin Hoey mentioned this in on of this flash videos a while back. Its why he uses 1/200sec all the time with his flash point system from Adoroma, even though his camera is stated to be able to go to 1/250.

    • @JoeJacksonJr
      @JoeJacksonJr  8 лет назад +1

      martin heleabadi Just try lowering and seeing if this corrects it. If it does then thats the reason. If it does not, then we know to start looking for other issues. :-)

    I understand that you can, "Can go up down left and right", but what I don't understand is how to use and make these devices communicate with your camera. Every video they just speak in Chinese. How do I use this product with my camera?
