Possibly the best, easiest to understand video I’ve ever seen to set up flash irrespective of the background colour. Only thing I’d say is, because I couldn’t remember the calculation for the main flash setting I’d use a light meter. Brilliant video. 👍🏻

I SO love your videos because you make things that I do/had thought was SO difficult and time consuming to figure-out/test, so simplistic and it's an extreme encouragement for me to try what you are showing us. Please continue to do what you do. The photography community is benefiting so very much! I do have one question/suggestion/wish....I have a Nikon D7100 and a looking to move up to a full frame camera (yet keep my Nikon lens...can't afford to completely "jump ship" to another system at present), but, I an wondering if you have the inclination to do some pro/cons and sample pics with a crop and full frame for dynamic range, etc.? Was thinking about the D750 model. Many thanks!

@@Cotictimmy I upgraded to D800 (fx) from D7100 (dx) about a year ago. D800 is a killer! although I heard that D750 is good too but targeted for videos. I am hoping to buy D850 or D820 in addition to this. If you mainly use your camera for studio work, D7100 or D7200 is not bad and would be close to those full frame sensor if you use very good glass like 24-70mm in front of it . @Beyond Photography; The model is fascinating, is she based in malaysia too?
@@ay1ism I tried a D800 a few weeks back (looked like a real bargain for the money) but my brother and I could not get consistently sharp image no matter what we tried (tripod, mirror up, studio flash etc.) . I think that one was just a dud (which would explain the low price.) In the meantime we tried a cheap 155k actuation D3x and absolutely loved it. We since bought a 30k actuation D3x and they the work identcally - turning out super sharp, high quaiity output for low price. The D700 is sold and the D7100 is on loan to a friend.

So today with my 3 Falcon eyes 200D I did exactly what you told. F-stop, distance, camera ISO, shutter and F8. Horrible results. Not even near yours and I can blame it on the person who was my subject. What a bummer.... 😢

This was a really great tutorial. Very detailed and thorough. Since this is studio work - I would like you to add in something about doing this with studio lights. Like the placement, settings and such - just like you did for these speed lights. Great tutorials!

Hi Andrew, love all your tutorials. You make everything seem so simple and easy to understand. I have noticed that you use the pop up flash as a trigger to the other speedlights and my question is do you reduce the power of the pop up flash so that none of its light hits the model ?
One can set pop up flash to 1/32 on Nikon camera, but its better to invest in affordable triggers like Godox X1T & flashgun likes TT685(TTL) or TT600(Manual)

So today with my 3 Falcon eyes 200D I did exactly what you told. F-stop, distance, camera ISO, shutter and F8. Horrible results. Not even near yours and I can blame it on the person who was my subject. What a bummer.... 😢

This was a really great tutorial. Very detailed and thorough. Since this is studio work - I would like you to add in something about doing this with studio lights. Like the placement, settings and such - just like you did for these speed lights. Great tutorials!

Hi Andrew, love all your tutorials. You make everything seem so simple and easy to understand. I have noticed that you use the pop up flash as a trigger to the other speedlights and my question is do you reduce the power of the pop up flash so that none of its light hits the model ?
One can set pop up flash to 1/32 on Nikon camera, but its better to invest in affordable triggers like Godox X1T & flashgun likes TT685(TTL) or TT600(Manual)
