    Joe, this video is a lifesaver. I had glanced at it before, but missed the snake eyes part and did teo events where i had to switch to M and only use bounce flash to make the pictures work. Thanks a million, i did a few free events in anticipation of a paid gig and now I can walk in with confidence knowing how to fire these hush puppies. I had made the assumption that the on camera flash was "A" and kept on trying to figure out why my fill flash was not giving the results i had on M. If it wasnt for you i was planing to use my TX and hold my flash with my left and shoot on my right. That would have been a drag!
    Thanks , again Joe!

    First of all, I like this video. It is clear and easy to understand.
    I'm new to speedlite. What is the purpose of 'zoom' function in this flash?

    • @JoeJacksonJr
      @JoeJacksonJr  7 лет назад +5

      The zoom function just helps focus the light down to a more narrow beam to reach further. Hope this helps.

    Hi Joe, I've just bought a yn660. In Tx mode I can manage my yn560 III, but in this case when I take a picture only the yn560 III triggers through my yn660. Both trigger if I set the yn660 in Rx mode but then I cannot set remotely my yn560 III. Can I have both: setting remotely my yn560 III and getting both triggered ?
    both are in same channel and group and I trigger with the RF-603 on my camera
    thanks

    Great info. I just bought and realized its not TTL :) Nevertheless it has the power. Is there any Yonguno which TTL ?

    • @JoeJacksonJr
      @JoeJacksonJr  7 лет назад +1

      Yes YN makes a good number of TTL flashes. The YN600EX-RT and YN685 are two that come to mind right off the top of my head.

    Hi Joe Hope you can help, I'm using 2 YN 622N TX with my flash and now want to add two more flashes, Q would the RF 603 11N3 be compatible with the 622? Looking at cost..Many thanks Joe, I found your videos very helpful.

    • @JoeJacksonJr
      @JoeJacksonJr  7 лет назад +1

      It should be compatible. Normally most all their stuff works together to a point. That said the 603's are basic triggers and none of the TTL information, HSS or power control information will be transmitter through them. Hope this helps.

    Hi Joe got the 660 great flash and thanks for your review was a great help, but have a problem can't get back to full manual mode, where the M and flash symbol is on the far left,hope you can help John

    • @JoeJacksonJr

    I recently purchased 4 YN660s and a 560TX. I set the 4 660s off camera on stands. All same channel/group. A set in RX mode and linked. They respond from the 560tx on camera adjusting the zoom or flash intensity. However when firing, only 1 or 2 fire with no consistency. Any suggestions for settings to make all 4 fire each try?

    Hi Joe, I haven't had a flash before still new to photography. So for my first flash, would you recommend the Yongnuo YN660??. Thanks for your help.

    • @JoeJacksonJr
      @JoeJacksonJr  7 лет назад +1

      Hey Mark, I will say yes. I do recommend it. However, keep in mind this is a fully manual flash. You will have to control the power output. Its not recommended for run and gun shooting as exposure is always changing. So if you are looking to get a flash that you can just put on your camera and let it work out the exposure. Then this flash is not for you. The YN685 is very close to this flash and has ETTL metering and is only about $30 USD more. amzn.to/2jijdOl
      Hope this helps.

    @Vimes. 7 лет назад +1

    Hi Joe
    Thanks for the tutorial, most appreciated. I have you tried this flash with your 80D as I believe that some of the Yongnuo flashes and controllers can have some issues with this camera..? AF beam assist typically can be affected.
    Have you made a video or given any information about buying and using external flashes for the 80D..?
    Thanks again for the videos

    • @JoeJacksonJr
      @JoeJacksonJr  7 лет назад +2

      Hey Morgan, I have tried it on my 80D. Seems to work fine for me. But honestly I have not pushed it to see if there is an issue.

    • @Vimes.
      @Vimes. 7 лет назад +1

      Thanks for that Joe.
      It can get a little overwhelming as there are so many variations of the Yongnuo flashes on the market and with the 80D being a little new I have read of issues, from an email from Yongnuo, referring to their hardware made prior August last year.
      I love your presentation no nonsense style Joe, your tutorials and reviews are very impressive.

      Hi Joe. I'm new to photography and I have the canon 80D & Yongnuo YN660 but I'm having the hardest time trying to figure out how to sync the two up. Would you consider doing a video on how to sync the two up? thanks for your time.

    • @JoeJacksonJr
      @JoeJacksonJr  7 лет назад +1

      X sync on DSLRs vary. But normally using a shutter speed of 1/200th should work on %90 of the cameras out there. The 80D can go as high as 1/250th shutter speed. Hope this helps.

    • @JoeJacksonJr
      @JoeJacksonJr  7 лет назад +1

      The 660 is larger, but its more powerful and only cost just a little more. So if you do not mind the extra size, then I would go with the 660.

    I mean does it work directly without a receiver, like a yn685 does ? Does it have a built in receiver?

    • @JoeJacksonJr
      @JoeJacksonJr  7 лет назад +2

      It has a built in wireless transceiver to be used as a transmitter and receiver. But only from other YN flashes or transmitter & controllers. Not directly from your camera without a YN transmitter unless you want to use pop up flash to trigger them.

    • @JoeJacksonJr

      They really small speedlite softboxes. They mostly just good for a diffuser. That fit pretty much all normal flashes. But do not forget if you have a white ceiling you can bounce off that also for nice even illumination as long as its not super high.. But I have did that in churches for weddings though..
