Both are great amps. I have an original 1987 Silver Jubilee 25/50 pushing through a full stack, 1960 slant w/ an 800 bottom. Been loven that set up. Also love the JCM 900 combo. Awesome video.....really got the juices flowing!
I've been playing through my Quad cortex for the last 6 months with amp captures, and I'm pretty much convinced that the JCM 800 2203x and Jubilee 2555x are my dream stereo rig. They are finally back in stock at Sweetwater, so I'll picking them up after Christmas. I'll use the Quad Cortex for my Vox and Fender Reverb amps sparkly and round sounds.
I play a 2555 exclusively. It is amazing but the speakers that come with the 4x12 can be very bright and fizzy in the high end when playing with gain or boosted. I had to split my cab up with 2 greenbacks on top and the 2 Marshall Vintage speakers on the bottom. Holy shit it was the best thing that's ever happened to my sound. It is so fierce and balanced at the same time. It may not be for everybody but if you don't like the sound of your 2555x with V30s or similar speaker, swap out and blend with something like a greenback.
I play only Marshall amps. I bought and tried other amps, but I always end back on my Marshalls. Been trying to pick up a Jubilee for a while, and they seem to be on perpetual back order. Excellent Video!
Every time you switch over to the Jubilee it sounds better. It's got that little something extra in the Gain. Sounds like it would have more sustain. (On my phone)
Great video! Thanks man! I personally always loved using two different Marshalls at the same time… I’d love to hear the 800 left/right with the Jubilee in stereo. I use an old JTM45-100 with a Jubilee and that sounds killer 😎
Just upgraded my LP Standard 60s with a Bare Knuckle Mule p/u in the Neck and BK Riff-Raff p/u in the Bridge with BK 550K pots and oil/paper caps. Man, that thing ROARS. I went off into a PRS rabbit hole for a year. I love my Custom 23 and McCarty 594, but I keep coming back to the Gibson LP. I'm going to pick up a R9 in the near future.
Honestly with a good boost upfront both will do the job. I do tend to prefer the smoothness of the Jubilee for most styles. In triode mode it has a Mesa Mark vibe to me.
The Jubilee has the best EQ section of any Marshall ever. it has a bloom that around 6 is hard to explain unless you have used one for an amount of time. The re-issue has a really cool feature, you can bias it without removing the chassis. it is my vote for the best Marshall and opinion only, also , I have owned many Marshalls over the years. I use and EVH Overdrive in front and it is brutal. The effects loop on the Jubilee is truly great and the clean channel is again the best sounding clean from a Marshall again opinion only. It is a stellar amplifier. Sell my JVM before the Jubilee.
I still have my original jubilee, was my main gigging amp late 20 some years ago, haven't fired it up in a years though. The reissue sounds good, always wanted a JCM800, never got one though, but I do have a 78 JMP and JCM900
I love the sounds of both these amps a lot, and would absolutely love to own both. But if i really have to make my pick i'd take the JCM800 over the 25/50, for i think the JCM800 has more punch and attitude.
Curious how you dialed these in. So many I’ve heard and what people say is that the jubilee is a bit darker but you seem to be getting an equal amount of brightness here as well as the famous 800 “clank” as they call it. Fuck yeah.
I've got an 800 and always wanted a silver jubilee, but there's not much in it to my ears. The 800 sounds like what I think most chasing tone wise, the jubilee sounds a bit thicker with some subtle extra good harmonic mids.
@@Crypticmaskguitar So, I am choosing between the silver jubilee and the jvm too, what can you say about them? About their pluses and minuses? I will play old thrash stuff like megadeth etc. also I can boost sil. with sd Also excellent video!
Have a JVM 410H, it sits silent. the Jubilee has something special. Boost it with a Spark mini for leads. Great effects loop for a smidge of delay. Best EQ of any Marshall ever and bias is achievable without removing the amp from the chassis. Great amp
Jubilee hands down

Sold! Jubilee it is. Thanks bud.
Killer job! Sick riffage Thank you for putting the work into this for the rest of us!
Jubilee is slightly more rounder to my ears, where as the 800 is just brutal! Thanks as always for making great vids!

Holy Frick. Came to hear the toanz stayed for the tunes!

I waited something like 4-5 months for my Jubilee. Not a big fan of these supply restraints! Cheers -Ryan
Get one used, paid 1100 for mine a few years ago.

Booth amps are top of the line, really awesome, but your riffs.... Fuck yeah!

Great playing and tones🤩

The 2203 sounds a little more brash / in your face whereas the 2555 is a bit more polished and smooth sounding. Both sound really good.

Yeah legit sounds like a Mark IV on pentode mode. Has the same bitting treble and high mids. Literally almost a clone, scary how they sound so close.

They are very similar! Booth great.

How does the 900 compare to the 2550?
This compare is fucking nuts!! I'm devastated... Hands down... where have you been mate for such long..?😅😅😅😂😂😂
JCM 800 for me, awesome riffing 😎
I love the sounds of both these amps a lot, and would absolutely love to own both.

Both killer amps... It's a 50/50 for me. Certain places the 2555x had it over the 800 and vice versa... one should own both! lol
I've got an 800 and always wanted a silver jubilee, but there's not much in it to my ears. The 800 sounds like what I think most chasing tone wise, the jubilee sounds a bit thicker with some subtle extra good harmonic mids.
This dude is a killer player!
I used to own a silver and now I have a 800. Silver always seemed a bit more dark but fatter
Jubilee is a brutal amp 🤘🤘
hands down
one is better then the other. cant decide wichone.
James and Kirk need to give you a call
I wouldn’t mind some free tickets haha! Cheers -Ryan
Okay, so now we need JVM vs SIL. JUB.
In good time. I just bought an ENGL Fireball 100… so I might end up focusing some videos on that amp first. Once it gets here. Cheers -Ryan

Here the 2555x sounds a bit boxy compared to the 2203x
What speakers do you use?
Black Shadow C90. Cheers -Ryan
@@Crypticmaskguitar Thanks, i thing the best speaker for Marshall arr G12 Vintage made in UK, Marshall is't metal amp.
The Silver Jubilee sounds better
