I have taught for about 12 years. One time I called a parent about their child. The next day she showed up in pajamas, a robe, slippers and hair rolls. IT WAS PRICELESS!!!
My Mom did something similar to my brother. He was skipping class so she left early for work and would stare through the window at him in his homeroom. He stopped skipping.
I did the same thing to both my boys in junior high and now they're both going to state college, graduated with honors, and graduated certified in pharmaceutical
I did the same thing! When i got a phone call from the school about my son talking to much in class. When i told him about the phone call i said i was gonna show up in his class. I didn't say when but when did all the kids were looking around to see who's father that was. When i left i walked over to his desk and said see u when u get home. Never got a phone call again!😄😄
Lol thank god my family was too busy to care enough to do that to me. So me yapping in class was no big deal to bring them in to sit in class w/ me. Me misbehaving at school and they got a call. It only meant my phone and games were gonna get taken away a certain amount of days or hours.
In my school in(Texas) one of the “punishments” is your parents to come to school and sit and be with you all the school day for like a week or more lol
Back in second grade, I never ate my lunch and always threw it out. My mom already knew I wasn't a very big eater so she told me that if I didn't start eating she'd come into my lunch room. One day, all of a sudden a girl from my class came up to my lunch table saying my mom was in the principals. So I ran to the entrance to the lunch room and started begging her to not come in and that I'd eat my food. *thanks for the flashbacks*
My gramma did that to me once. She stayed with me the whole day. That was back when grammas us to be on us and not spoil us like my kids grammas do. #ToughLove
I sat through a couple of my son's 8th grade classes. The only problem is my kid is difficult to embarrass, lol! However, because of my exemplary behavior, the counselor let me leave early that day 👍
I forewarned my kids that if I ever found out they had skipped school that I would take time off from work and go to every class with them for 2 or 3 days. I was VERY disappointed when the principal of the school told me that they could not allow me to carry out that consequence because they need to "protect the confidentiality of the other students". I'm sorry, but if my child does something wrong, what consequences I get to carry out are not the school's decision. I'm more firm than the schools are. I'm just absolutely disappointed in the school.
Heck my mom and my best friend's mom would do this any time any of us(all of the neighborhood children who called them mom)would get in trouble in school. they would dress awful(house coats, house shoes or slippers, with white basketball socks, and hair curlers in their hair) and come to the school and come sit in the class! LOL needless to say, it only took the first time to get the message.
Excellent! My dad would not allow me to use a calculator in physics or math class. 'If you cant use your head and be able to do simple math in your head, under pressure then you are no use to anyone in the bush or service. Don't think, know what to do react to your environment. If you think on what to do your mind will stop and that's dangerous'. My dad, an Allied Veteran of WWII. I did learn those, 'required skills' and I considered them normal back then and to this day have been useful. This kid has a decent dad because he took interest in his son's studies.
Maybe that's true for military, I have no idea, but if physicians or engineers are doing shit in their heads.... they're doing it wrong, and will probably end up fired.
That's an objectively stupid barrier your dad set for you. Unless you only took math up to algebra, not having a calculator would render you unable to complete tasks in the alloted time. It's important for students to know why their calculator is spitting out the answers it is but the calculator is essentially just a time saving device. If you don't know what operations to enter for a specific problem, the calculator becomes useless. Just try to take a linear algebra, or 3rd year calculus exam without a calculator, it's impossible.
I, did the same thing with my son at page middle school and even sat next to him in cafeteria and pick up his tray up for him... and we sat in front ...just got tried of my son behavior ...
You got a great Dad , Bradley, buckle up and study hard ! It’s a hard world, soon you will graduate ! I was definitely a if I say I do ! It’s hard being the mean parent !! But you will come to respect you Dad and Mom too! They care so much about you and your education, make the pride they have in you ! Not go to waist !
That's a man right there, he's a father for what he does and not for what he did. Like the book of Life says, As iron sharpens iron so does a man sharpens another.
OMG!!! I can't believe he did that, he actually followed through on a threat, he actually taught his son there are consequences in life, how dare he not be a typical "helicopter", "l awn mower" parent who coddles, isolates, lies for, is a feckless guardian of an out of control tyrant (sarcasm), KUDOS Dad.... 👍💓😀👍😇🙂
My mom did the same thing to me when I was in elementary 😃 I actually didn't mind it at all lol. But i think I would have been embarrassed if she had done that when i was in high school 😶

A great blessing to have a dad who is involved in your life.
Another top notch parent. More parents should do this.
I love a strong father figure, something that is missing in a lot of homes today..love this story..
I did the same thing to both my boys in junior high and now they're both going to state college, graduated with honors, and graduated certified in pharmaceutical
True father-son relationship. Rare nowadays, but beautiful.
the son looks like clark kent from Smallville XD
Dang,cute dad and son!!
I can’t let my mom see this 😂😂😂😂
Yay dad!!! Respect for being hands on and keeping your son in line. 👍🤛👏👏

Bravo dad!
My daughter talked too much at school when she was in the 3 grade , so the teacher made her sit alone in a corner of the class room
t
Love this Dad! Need more like him!!!
If my dad got a call from school. I was painting the house. It was the best looking house on the block for 2 years.
In my school in(Texas) one of the “punishments” is your parents to come to school and sit and be with you all the school day for like a week or more lol
What a handsome boy.
*The dad that we all want !!* 😭
A dad could plays together with their son and friendly ✨
teachers need to start asking parent to sit with their kids if behavior get out of hand...

Hold up
So nobody's gonna talk about how cute he is?😍

More parents should take the time to make themselves part of the solution. Good caring teachers welcome parental support.
I would want my dad in my class
I sat through a couple of my son's 8th grade classes. The only problem is my kid is difficult to embarrass, lol! However, because of my exemplary behavior, the counselor let me leave early that day 👍
With no homework!
Honestly I would do the same to my own kid, this punishment isn’t abusive and my kid will think twice before doing anything wrong next time
The Dads voice is for radio
I did the EXACT same thing to my daughter when she was in middle school. BEST. THING. EVER!!!

Basic. My mom did this to my brother all day, lunch and everything.
My Dad explained a thing or two to me and he was as serious as a stroke. I listened. And I never tried him on it.
I, did the same thing with my son at page middle school and even sat next to him in cafeteria and pick up his tray up for him... and we sat in front ...just got tried of my son behavior ...

I wasnt on the news when my dad came to my class
He kinda sounds like Walter jr and somewhat looks like him lol
My mother did the same thing with my brother. For the whole day. The next day was my turn lol
Why has that young man not learned to be respectful in class at his age? He’s pretty much old enough to be down-range w/adult responsibilities.
Wish I had done that with my son.
My mom did this to my little brother when he was in 8th grade.
He looks like a very hot version of jim from the office
Now that's a great dad!.. he could be a great help too in answering my exam.. hahaha. 😃
The dad and the son a whole meal
