today, we’re going to be diving into the world of devil may cry and looking at our favourite comedic relief Main character Dante and how strong he’s gotten throughout this Incredible series slaying Demons that come in different shapes and sizes. Can anyone defeat the Demon hunter Dante? I hope you all enjoy!

great vid, but the brothers aren't trapped in hell Dante escaped hell in DMC 2 and Vergil can just travel through dimensions using the Yamato, their farther did try and close anyway the demons can come back but most highly powerful demons can still make it through and with Dante basically surpassing them all I'm sure he can get out when ever (it's mostly so Nero can become the lead character going forward)
I know in DMC 3 vergil is trying to fine a way to get too hell and doesn't use the Yamato but the sword is stated to be able to cut through dimensions and in DMC 5 he begins to use the sword to travel to different location

Great vid. I feel like there were some feats you could’ve touched on though.
Such as:
- During Dante’s fight with Mundus, it’s been confirmed by the writer Mundus did actually create an entire universe(not a dimension).
- The underworld is infinite.
- The underworld might be a multiverse: it has several hells such as the Fire Hell(Berial& Balrog), The Great Forest(Echidna), Hell of Jealousy(Leviathan), 4 Nirvanas(DMC3), and several heavens.
- The underworld also contains multiple realms and “dimensions”: Fire, Ice, Lightning realms, Vergil’s Soul realm & Incineration Dimension from DMCPOC, Evil Dimension(Nightmare/ DMC1), Purgatory(POC), Fault’s contain a “dark habitat,” inside their body’s.
- The training arena in DMC5 is described as a “special pocket dimension,” and contains a Galaxy in the sky, as well as what looks like a black hole.
- Dante acts surprised to see Frank’s Hunter’s Guild houses a realm with a “starry sky,” with innumerable stars and a moon in POC.
- Nobody’s “skew dimensions.”
- Some demons are Jungian archetypes, such as Nightmare(Nightmares, Destruction), Argosax(Despair, Chaos), 7 Sins(from the DMC3 manga), Msira(savagery, greed), Hell
Vanguard(Death), Hellfilth(Nightmares), Nemesis(Vengeance), Mundus(Living Universe/ world).
- Sparda split two infinities(the underworld and human universe).
- Dante and Urizen shatter the dimensional barrier, Pluto/ Plutone from POC casually shatters the dimensional barrier.
- The Beasthead’s presence ends the world by freezing it over and causing cataclysmic events.
- The Beastheads send Dante to an alternate/ parallel timeline. One where Nelo Angelo is a hero, and the famous omnipresent Mundus rules.
- Argosax had power that rivaled Mundus.
- Savior had the power of Sparda.
- Argosax’s speed was stated to “transcend time and distance.”
- Argosax could passively warp past, present and future times with his presence.
- Nightmare was stated to be so powerful he could destroy& lift the infinite underworld.
- Dante defeated Lucifer.
- Dante defeated Bolverk(Odin), as well as Freki& Geri.
- Bolverk is a ruler of Gods.
- Bolverk was a rival of Sparda.
- Dante defeats Agni and Rudra(based on two Hindu gods).
- Dante defeats Leviathan, who’s stated in DMC lore to be a God.
- Dante defeats Chen, who uses the Beast-Heads in the novel to know all past, present, and future, and uses that knowledge to fight like Sparda.
- A demon lord gave Kanigam some of his power, so he could see past, present, and countless futures which were deemed impossible.
- Dante and Chen’s battle somehow strikes fear into inanimate objects.
- Dante has some low-end Toonforce.
- Vergil as Nelo Angelo could regenerate even after having his 9th dimensional soul erased.
- The Fallen Priest can “reduce a soul to nothingness.”
- Soul eaters eat souls.
- Conundrums can “shatter souls.”
- On top of the soul being 9D, if not destroyed it returns to a “higher dimension” beyond the 8 fold path, which is known as Nirvana. Dante visits Nirvanas in DMC3, which actually makes him 10D minimum.
- Dante’s Dreadnaut form, sustains no damage, even when attacked by Savior, who wielded Sparda’s power.
- Majin DT is immune to damage.
- Dante doesn’t need his human form, and is stronger in the underworld.
- Having access to the Bangle of Time, Chrono Heart, Key of Cronus, and Quicksilver.
- Having the ability to create a perfect clone of himself.
- Void Mundus was stated to be free of time itself, and omnipresent within the void.
- Mundus’s palace was also stated to exist outside the flow of time.
- Dante is able to exist in a realm that “transcends space,” when Mundus creates a replica of his childhood house in the DMC1 novel.
Etc, etc, etc
Perhaps he didn't touch on these because:
- Kamiya (Devil May Cry 1's "writer") hasn't worked with Capcom for more than a decade, and thus his words might not apply to what the franchise is now. Also, his responses on Twitter to power-scaling questions were either nonexistent or trolling (Is Mundus Universal? Ask him) and has repeatedly expressed dislike for the topic, making his "universe" statement unreliable.
- The underworld is infinite according to mistranslations and localization errors - Capcom devs are guilty of a lot of those, ask Megaman X6. We don't actually know how big the underworld is, just that it's big enough to contain multiple areas and biomes. The underworld should be explored in DMC 6.
- Sparda didn't split the underworld and human realm through sheer power alone. He didn't divide them at all. He just sealed the doors between the two. He didn't even do it alone, he needed the help of a human priestess (Lady's ancestor).
- True.
- ...I think so.
- ...Maybe?
- It was never stated that Nightmare could destroy the underworld instantly. The kanji utilized in the original manga pages of VoV points more to a gradual destruction of the underworld.
- True.
- True, though Bolverk isn't really Odin, the god. He's just a demonic parody of an alias Odin took.
- Agni and Rudra (DMC) shouldn't be confused with Agni and Rudra. The former are demons, the latter are, as you say, Hindu Gods. Another example of this is Beowulf; Beowulf (DMC) isn't a heroic warrior as Beowulf from the original story is, he's a vengeful and cruel devil set on killing the descendants of Sparda.

- Don't know about this. Maybe the creator of the video didn't either.
- Don't know what that is. Maybe the creator of the video didn't either.
- The existence of "9th Dimension Souls" in DMC is doubtful. The sole source of this is a loading screen from PoC that doesn't actually appear in the game at all and the other loading screens that DO show up on the same level don't say anything about 9th Dimension Souls, which are also never mentioned anywhere in any of the games - don't know about novels, as I've only read the DMC 1, 4, and 5 ones. You could've just said that Vergil regenerated after having his soul erased.
- Not sure what Dreadnaught is. Sounds cool. Might check it out later.
- True. Quicksilver is OP. The video could've shown it.
- True. Doppelganger is also OP.
- It's not really impressive to be omnipresent in the void of his castle.
- Don't know about this. Maybe the creator of the video didn't either.

There was a single, original, primordial universe which was spawned from pure darkness. Unending darkness. A crucible of chaos. But even to that primordial existence there came a ray of light. The universe was eventually split in two. The darkness became the realm of demons... and the light became the domain of mortals.“ The dmc3 manga mentioned that the demon world was spawned from unending darkness. There’re also multiple character files that mentioned infinite seas or places within the demon world.
@@solomon7985 - Kamiya may have only worked on DMC1, but that’s still a canon game. He’s actually been asked at least three times this question, and each time provided a link to the same response or gave the same response. Whether you take his word for it being a universe or not; be it a realm, it still had thousands of stars, making it at minimum galactic, and that’s a feat worth mentioning imo.
- The guidebook states Mundus’s goal is to conquer the universe.
- The Beastheads of the DMC2 novel create an entire alternate universe, where in this timeline, Void Mundus resides and rules, is stated to be omnipresent, and more powerful than the original Mundus. It’s not just his castle like in DMC1. Dante easily defeats him.
- The DMC novelization describes the Underworld as unending darkness, the Sargasso enemy file in DMC3 describes the Underworld as an endless sea, the DMC3 Astronomical Device describes the Underworld as an endless void, and a DMC guidebook describes the Underworld as eternal darkness.
- Sparda sealing hell gates is an entirely different feat, as they were created after the division of the universe. In the novelization, it specifically says the universe was split in two, and that Mundus wants to reunite them in order to rule both. Sparda’s ability to split them, even if through sealing, is a great demonstration of power.
- Bolverk is stated to be a “king of the Gods,” has Odin’s alias, Odin’s familiars, uses a spear, and has a scar across one eye to represent the eye Odin sacrificed.
- I should also mention Gods and Angels are just another subset of Demons in DMC. Argosax is even stated to be a God.
- Lore for Nightmare: “The demon king is said to have created a powerful weapon that he even feared would destroy his own kingdom, and sealed his power to stop it. With his immense great power, he could effortlessly lift the entire structure of the underworld or destroy it. Only a being comparable to her creator could surpass his strength. A weapon would be a nightmare for any entity, living or dead.”
- The feats from POC weren’t removed from the game. They’re from version 1 of the game which is no longer a beta version. Version 2 is essentially part 2.
- Even without time hax, Dante could defeat Pluto and keep up with his speed, which was so quick it allows him to “bypass the dimensional axis of time.” That’s 4-5D. Argosax has equivalent lore stated to “bypass time and distance.”
- Vergils sword can cut through dimensions, which implies beyond 3D, but most demons scale to 9D through effecting souls.
- The 9D soul feat was included in this video, and there are several statements of demons who are fodder to Dante being capable of completely annihilating souls.

DMC has always been part of my life ever since I was a kid watching my dad play it. Dante is an absolute fucking unit
I need to point out the fact that the statement in peak of combat isn't spacial. the translation is:
"The Soul It continues to hide mysteries that humans and demons don't understand, mysteries but every human has such.
A basic nine-dimensional form, generally speaking, it originates from and returns to a higher dimension beyond the Eightfold Path.
It not only contains the mind and memory, but also contains all the information of the body and its ancestors since ancient times."
The 9 dimensions are not referenced as spatial, in fact, if you delve deeper into the context of the game, you will realize that the Eightfold Path is a basic concept of Buddhism consisting of 8 mental practices. 9 dimensions could also be a reference to Dante's poem Inferno, where Dante Alighieri is being guided by Vergilius through 9 circles of hell, these two alternatives make more sense, are more cohesive at this point in the plot and more in line with the lore of the franchise , which is about approaching mythological and philosophical concepts, not mathematical/physical ones. There are also nine holistic dimensions, which are interconnected between: physical, emotional, creative, environmental, financial, occupational, intellectual, social and spiritual. In alchemy there are also nine dimensions and they are mental. The concept of alchemy was already used in DMC with Agnus.
