Hi there I am looking to take lessons for practical for my minibus and i am wanting to use it for hire and reward. It says,we have to do a S shape parking in test,do you guys have any videos about it? Thanks
Absolutely correct although we don't have a specific video for D1. The link below will take you to our category C reversing exercise. Although the vehicle is a little bit larger, the principle is exactly the same. ruclips.net/video/OVlIX-mHb4M/видео.html If you've got any questions, please give us a call. Kind Regards Paul 👍👍
I've booked my D1 tests via .GOV. They've asked that I bring external mirrors and L plates for the test. It's being done in a minibus, could anyone suggest mirrors I can buy that won't cost a huge amount please? Would just a pair (two) L Plates be enough? Thanks!
When it comes to mirrors, this can be extremely tricky as the DVSA need to have a full view in the mirrors behind you. Because of the A pillar, this makes extremely challenging on our vehicles. We have used a small curved mirror which you can get from Amazon on the near side and on the off side we've had to use CCTV. I would strongly advise once you have fitted the mirrors to take the vehicle to the DVSA test centre to let them look at it beforehand. The last he want to do is go to the test and the vehicle gets refused. 👍
Hi, can someone with an EU drivers licence, drive a minibus in the UK. They got their licence in 1992. But currently it does not show entitlement for D1
@@NationalDrivingCentre Okay thanks. Our staff's main role is not to drive buses. We are a charity, and we use the buses for various needs. One being driving paying guests on residential experiences to our sites. Our staff are paid, and sometimes volunteers would also drive minibuses. The buses are 12,13 and 14 seat ford transits. Can you confirm who would need D1 entitlement and also who has to have a cpc? I understood a cpc was not essential for our activities but its really hard to tell...... really appreciate your help
Yes this is correct. You would need to check the ULW of the vehicle. As our D1 is a 5.5MAM the tread would need to be more than 1mm over 3/ quarters of the radio circumference of the tyre.👍👍
A good question. This is mainly down to the dangers of your goods in a panel van is not that high but passenger care and comfort for a D1 is very high.👍
Hi,i have my full bus driver licence but no experience as i only drove a mini bus in spain.I have just changed my licence from spanish to Uk.How do i find a bus driver job without experience and never driving in the uk.Thank you.
Hi Roberta, we would suggest getting some car driving experience first and driving on the other side of the road here in the UK! Then find a training provider who will go through and refresh your bus driving skills in order to get you ready for an assessment with a company 😃 If that's us, give us a call and we'll help you! 🙃
Hi I have a D1 on my driving licence, for me to drive a 17 seater and use it for business like airport journeys do I need to pass any outher tests? Or any outher requirments?
Hello Cosa Nostra, We hope all is well. If you have a look on the back of your driving license where it says the category D1 next to that just have a look and see if there are any codes if you have a 101 restriction then this means not for hire or reward if this is the case then you would need to pass your D1 driving license if there are no codes next to that D1 then you are good to go and all you need to do is obtain your CPC have a look at a video which will explain the CPC and what you need to do to get it.👍👍👍
@@musaaliev2596 sorry, do you mean the show me tell me questions or obtaining the license this all depends on what part of process you are at if you already have the provisional entitlement and the training could be anywhere between 2 to 4 days but obviously you would need to complete your theory test before this. If you pop onto our website, it will talk you through the whole process. www.nationaldrivingcentre.co.uk

I have a quick question. Apparently, a minibus is a vehicle with 9-16 seats. But does this include the driver seat or only the passenger seats.
No this would not include the driver.

To drive for a living you would need a full UK license with the CPC and the correct entitlement for example D1. 👍

You mentioned the tyre depth to be greater than 1 mm, but as I understand it if vehicle is under 3.5 tonne it is 1.6 mm. Is this correct

i drive a massive pannel van - why do i need a d1 for a minibus? is it the additional passangers?

What the best theory app to use for this ??? ASAP
I have put the link for the one we have been using for a few years now. Very good.

Hi how r u. I have B. B1 license. I am still driving 7 seats car. Bt if wanna drive 9 seats what I have to do plz let me know. Thank u
Yes you would need to do a D1 license and obviously if this is for a job then potentially a CPC.👍
is there a automatic D1 or only manual ?
There are some companies out there that do have automatic D1's. 👍
I have an up to date CPC card for my HGV. I plan on doing my D1, do i need to do another CPC?
Unfortunately yes. They are classed PCV and LGV.
@@NationalDrivingCentre thanks for the reply friends.
