Passed in the first time on 8/01/20!! 5 questions from mr DVLA and 5 answered correctly 100% 😀I was singing like a bird 😂 practical driving test passed almost in perfection, one small minor to fast on the junction 😀🙈 next step CPC🙈😬
I think having a PCV (PSV) already, helps if you go for LGV (HGV)... more familiar with air brakes and long vehicles regarding road positioning for example.. Only real difference being having to load securely and the unloading techniques.. some 7/5 ton experience a good idea too.. make sure vehicle is secure and all in food working order and condition..
also - when do you check the mudgaurds? - my cheeky examiner ask me a folow up about when - when you first start your trip or after each break etc. after it rains etc.
Mine's on the 23rd of August ... thank you for these Vids !!! Great stuff for others to get confidence and actually look forward to getting on. THANK YOU, Shaun ( and the camera guy ) !!!
@@seanpargeter25 Hey there! thanks for your message! I passed my practical and felt very confident throughout! When carrying IBC's the taps should be facing outwards so in the event of an incident the emergency services can couple up to the IBC's to empty them. If any IBC's do not have a blanking cap fitted do not accept them being loaded on your vehicle
You could also advise your learners to carry a wooden stick , jam the brake peddle against the seat base and check air leaks and brake lights at the same time ??
How times have changed.... I went from car to class 1, 10 day course, no Cpc nonsense back then in 1987.... Driver shortage now, hmmm, I wonder why. Having to sit in a classroom for a total of 35 hours every 5 years to be told how to do my job is, frankly, embarrassing. If I don’t know how to drive by now then I suppose I’ll have to hand my licence back....Still, the Government make money out of it so nothing will change.
It's also the fact that you have to pass a total of 7 tests first and now at a cost of between £3.5-4.5k. Drivers medical, Mod 1a Theory multiple choice, 1b Theory hazard perception, Mod 2 CPC Case studies, Mod 3a Reversing, 3b practical driving test, Mod 4 show me tell me. Then you could make a mistake on your first day and kill a family, or could be heavily fined and lose your licence. Maybe the incorrect wording from a trainee medical specialist to the DVLA and they revoke your licence (that's what happened to me) then have to get evidence from the proper specialist proving my licence should never have been revoke.
