Well I took my class 1 test yesterday 11/12/20 and passed with no minors, I nearly cried! I was more proud of myself that all week I was using shunts on my reverse, on test first time bang straight in. Could not believe it! I start my new job with my company in the new year on class 1.
@A320 REMF cheers pal.
WELL DONE GAVIN!
@@NationalDrivingCentre thank you very much
Who you working for Gav?
Nice man, I’m hoping after lockdown to start the process, how long does it roughly take from getting your provisional to medical to all theory’s tests/ training and assessments ? Can you be done with everything in a month or is there a lot of waiting around for things to be processed?
I have driven articulated vehicles for 30 years and must say your explanations and teaching are excellent.
Thank you so much.
Thanks guys. I think I learned more from watching your online lessons than I did from my shouty short-tempered instructor.
I passed my C+E mainly because of your input.
Thank you so much for your comments. Congratulations on the bus well.👍👍
Still the same voice I know from Paul eight years ago when I done my C+E. such a professional instructor well done Paul
He's still doing what he does best!
Take care out there Newton.
When I "did"
I failed my reversing test on Saturday. The instructor over complicated it all and only gave me less than 1 hours tuition before my test. Anyway..I'm going back today to re sit and I must say I feel way more comfortable this time after watching this on repeat since then. The tuition in this video is simple and clear. Completely different from the standard of tuition where I am training. Unfortunately I'm no where near your area otherwise I would have booked in with you guys! 👊😁
Anndd..Passed! Thanks guys! 🤘👊
Thank you so much. Great work.
So you failed the first time and great that you passed the second time. I changed company myself and I was learning to reverse on a site that was bogged down with mud, massive holes and basically a makeshift was taken out when the wind came.
Hi Sonny, I have my reversing test tmrw and I'm having kittens. Came home in tears today. I just couldn't get the angle quite right, was awful. I'm hoping this video will help me for tmrw's last bit of tiny training too before the test 😥
@@kylefordham Thank God, well done 👍 i think i'm going to fail my 1st test tmrw
I'm doing my class 1 at the moment, and you're videos have been brilliant, really chilled me out and helping me with my training,
Thank you Thomas. Good luck with everything.
Hi Thomas, I’m doing my class 1 practical soon. Would you mind to share your experience so far if you’ve done your test yet?
Any advice etc would be greatly appreciated.
Many thanks in advance.
I hope gonna help me too the instructor said I am the enemy so you can imagine
I’m going to take me taring this week Thursday
Your video are really help full guys thank you
My instructor was useless and I had to look up a lot of info on RUclips. I wish I done my training through these guys but I'm based in North wales. Super informative videos covering a lot of content. Definitely helped me through.
Thank you so much for your kind comments that really means a lot. 👍👍 please make sure you leave feedback to the company you trained with.
I remember watching this vedeo before upgrading my license to C +E License. I never went to learning practical but went straight to do the test and passed. Am here today to say thanks to these instructors.❤
Thank you so much. Great work well done.
I start my C+E intensive in 2 weeks and your videos have given me the insight and right mindset for the whole training. Thank you guys 🙏🏽👍🏾
No Problem, Best of luck👍👍
How did it go?
I admit I only came to this to help me learn to park my truck and trailer in my sim game and a couple of the hints/tips have helped me make so much more sense of the reversing, very clear and professional instruction
Thank you so much.👍👍👍
@Edoc sounds like my kind of logical thinking taking “opposite steering” out of the equation, thanks!
Looking at that tutorial, classroom talk and yard driving manoeuvre takes me back, it’s daunting at first but after a couple of months after passing you get the hang of it, always take your time, your less likely to make a mistake
Some great points Edward. Thank you so much for the hints and tips. 👍👍👍👍
Want to say a massive thank you to you guys followed all you’re videos through my class 2 and just passed my class 1 yesterday you’re videos were a massive help

I've spent 3k on C2 and now C1 in the last 6months. I have learnt loads watching this vid. It's clear and concise with key indicators.

Many thanks guys. I watched several of your videos before and during my lessons and tests. I passed my 3a last Friday and C+E today. I really appreciate your time and support.
Great work, well done. Thank you so much 👍👍👍
WOW WOW WOW. I am from Canada Toronto Ontario and I went to school for truck and trailer. I can easily tell you guys that the way you teach is amazing. Here they do not know how to explain this backing. In Canada we call this Offset backing and no one and I mean no one knows how to instruct this one. Even the 90 degrees backing in Canada to learn is just one tunnel towards hell. Plus your trucks are amazing Mercedes with flat front. Here they are Mack, International, and the best ones are the Volvo. the first two are junk. Thanks for your perfect way of explanation. Cheers.
Thank you much Jessy. 👍👍👍👍Thats amazing to hear.
Very Good reversing lesson as i just got my semi license here in Melbounre Australia didn’t teach me that good. And i failed once in reversing too. You guys doing great job well done 👌👌

Absolutely amazing I would love for this guy to instruct me, so professional and easy to understand
Thank you so much, very kind.
Interesting, wish I had video tutorials back I my day. It wasn’t uncommon to go through three or four trailers a day when I started driving. Some were 40 ft and some 45 ft with either a twin axle 8 wheel trailer or a triple axle 6 wheeled trailer. All turned differently due to the drag when manoeuvring sharply and also the overhang was different.
Because of the variations one thing I’d do with a new trailer is once hitched up to it I’d place a coke can at the very back of the trailer on the ground. I’d then hop into the cab and look at the can through the mirror and check which strap on the curtain lined up with it. It meant that looking through the mirror I knew exactly where the end of the trailer was even if I was backing into a bay that had the weather proofing seals on the bay. It meant you could stop within a few inches of the required spot.
Also note that you don’t want to park the trailer against the bump stops on the loading bay as some of the doc ramps get caught when they are lifted from the park position before they extend into the trailer. Best to pull forward a bit for clearance!
One other point, this exercise although handy is no where near as important as reversing a trailer at 90 degrees onto a bay, especially one which has a unit and trailer either side. That really is an exercise that should be taught and tested on!
Some great hints and tips thank you so much.👍👍
Cheers guys doing my C+E course soon and found this video a massive help
Best of luck Kristan! Let us know how you get on 💪🏼
on the rocks about obtaining a C+E licence as thinking to do it after the 15th of november when you can go from a car straight over to an artic....very clear and professional video! would love an instructor like Paul! extremely calm and clear!
Thank you so much you're very kind good luck in the future which ever way you decide to go.👍👍👍👍
I have been driving class 1 for over 30 years. I have never had a situation that required this manoeuvre. The test would be much more useful if it included reversing exercises that were true to real world requirements.
I can see exactly what you mean but unfortunately the test is set by DVSA and we cannot change it, however during our student refresher training for C+E we tend to do a lot more real life scenarios for the reversing exercise.
Im glad i came across your vids, i start my class 1 soon definitely will be helpful
Thank you so much we're so glad it helps. Best of luck hope everything goes well.
Thank you I passed this week 🎉

Rewatching you guys for the past few weeks. Failed a few months ago as the examiner I had told me I had to go between the comes you move up to and not where your Paul said pull up to. Which ultimately made me fail by hitting a please drive carefully in the car park sign.
With another company now with proper learning facilities ( learning on road and not mud basically like my old company I learned with) next week so better results I think will happen.
Thanks again for these terrific videos this one and the uncoupling and coupling one aswell.

What a brilliannt description of everything
Thank you👍👍👍👍
Excellent video after struggling to get to procedure correct it’s enabled to pass this element on the second time many thanks and such great content.
Thank you so much Andrew. Thats so great to hear.
I failed my reversing 2 years ago. I done as you said and my instructor said to go towards the left cone. The examiner told me off the sent me around the building and yard then to park between the cones. This put me totally off and messed it up. I have now decided to do the training again because my confidence was knocked massively.
So sorry the hear that. As long as you have not obscured the left-hand A cone with the B cone then the Examiner can't do anything. Listen very carefully to the wording that the Examiner use at the beginning briefing. If you have any questions at that point ask him now for example, "if I was to pull up close to the left-hand cone, would you have an issue with this?" As long as the cones on obscured by the vehicle, and there should be no problem at all. You can download the wording and the procedure online from the government website.
Hope this helps and best of luck for the tests 🤞🤞👍👍👍

I don’t know how to thank you guys. I have passed my C+E Reverse today. I watched your vedios through out the weekend and it was easier to understand than what my instructor was saying. My advice to anyone that’s doing this is to stay parallel to the Yellow line as Paul said in the vedio. Once again thank you
Well done in the past that's great work 👍👍👍Thank you so much for your kind words it really means a lot👍👍

What a fantastic instructor
Thanks Lee, we'll pass on your kind words!
Got my test tommorow. You make it seem so simple, its give me some confidence that i can manage this.
Best of luck, Take your time and remember, there is nothing wrong with having a stop and think.
Keep the basics in the back of your mind if you want to trade a straight up, steer into the mirror with more trailer, and if you wanted to bend stay the opposite way, keep the angles small, it's easier to control a small angle angle. And don't forget to take your shunts "if you need them", don't be a hero.
Hope all goes well 👍👍👍👍🤞🤞🤞🤞
