Since the first day of my journey to become a HGV driver I have followed your videos through each step of the way. Passed my theory, hazard, CPC 2 & 4 and then my test yesterday all at the first attempt. Thank you so much, I have recommended you to others!
This is fantastic Victoria. I’m going to become a HGV driver also. Can you tell me if you drove an automatic or a manual please? Just wondering what they test in. Thanks

This week I passed my PSV mod 2 with 47/50 and sailed through my mod 4 today thanks to the great training from my instructors and also to you guys and your excellent, easy to follow video demonstrations. Thanks for putting these very useful and informative videos up here on YT. much appreciation and love to NDC and all your intructors. Cheers!
I've been watching your videos for a little while, very helpful, it's helped me on my cpc, my reverse manoeuvre and my practical, thankfully I got through them all first time, my advice to anyone is watch as many of these videos as possible and don't stress yourself out too much about any of it, I went into my practical today nervous as anything because I'd had a little bump with an articulated lorry only yesterday which heaped an even bigger load of pressure and nerves on me and I still got through it so don't give up and don't think for a second you can't pass.
Another important thing to remember is to make sure you adjust your seat to where you are comfortable. Making sure you reach the pedals and are comfortable with the steering.

Hey guys! Passed my Class 2 a few days ago on Friday with 2 minor faults. I'd like to thank the whole National Driving Centre for all of your videos, they've definitely helped me. 🚛
I wish I was based near you guys. Your videos are brilliant, and have helped me sometimes more than my actual instructor. I had to miss my final drive and my test because of illness, and it was partly due to the constant negativity I was getting the whole week. Put my anxiety through the roof, even though I was starting to enjoy the driving itself. I've driven multiple vehicles for 20 years, have taken and passed a three week basic police response course. And for me, the biggest asset in these things is the attitude of the instructors. And your positive, calm manner in these videos is perfect. Hoping to pick up my last few hours driving elsewhere, then take the test.
So sorry to hear of your experience, this is no way to instruct. Best of luck for the up and coming🤞🤞. We are worth a visit, thank you so much for your kind words👍👍👍👍👍

Just wanted to add a quick note of thanks. I watched this video (+ the show me tell me video) several times! I passed my class 2 on 01/02/22 at the 2nd time off asking after allowing nerves to take over first time round. Something else that I added that really helped was in my spare time I drove parts of the routes in my car and stood on junctions watching how lorries and buses took them. Weird I know but it helped me. Your videos really helped and had your voice on my head all the way round! 😂
hello passedmy class 2 today with only 3 minor fails I was worried sick all week, watched this video about 4 times and it really helped me chill out thanks
@@wilfswanderings hi mate, got my license back after 4 weeks, think it helped putting a thanks message on the envelope 😉 Sitting my theory stuff today, hopefully pass 🙏
hi , passed my theory ,hazard and cpc mod 2 on friday, waiting for when i start to learn to drive class one now. thnx for all your videos as been very helpful and informative.
Failed my class 1 today because I was too hesitant at roundabouts. Not really come up as an issue before in my lessons but think I was just being overcautious because I was on test! Retest in two weeks. Won't be making that mistake again. Thanks for all the videos guys, they've definitely been helpful.
So sorry to hear that Gareth, this can be a common mistake. But you know what it is and you know how to fix it. Best of luck for the next one 🤞🤞🤞and thank you for watching. 👍👍👍👍
I watched this video the night before my Class 1 test at Weedon Northampton. Bag of nerves, but you guy's (along with my instructor who was ace), settled me down. I passed with four minors. Thanks for the help.
I pass my class 2 along with my mod 2 and mod 4 in October this year. Start my first job on Tuesday nex week and really looking forward to it. Plus I'm also thinking to take my C+E test soon
I been watching this Paul and Keith' s an awesome video multiple times. It's been 3 years and failed my HGV C 3B test for fifth times. I had 3 driving school, 7 different instructors and 5 different examiners. Now, I still cannot figure out which is right and wrong. I think it's all about their faith really. These examiners knows that how to fail the L drivers. They will find something and somewhere to fail you. I don't know how many times I do need to go but I hope, I will find someone good examiner to pass me. I spent too much already, so can't quit.
Don't give up David make sure you do your homework before you find a school to go and train with. I know it sounds tough, but remember it's not the examiner that fails you, it's the mistakes or errors you make whilst out on the drive. You need to prove to Examiner, you're safe and that you understand the rules regulations of the road. Make sure you get the correct feedback from your instructor regarding your test fails that you know what to work on for next time. Best of luck for the future, and if you've got any questions, please give us a call. Kind Regards Paul 👍👍👍.
I'd just like to thank you guys for these amazing videos, ive watched every video in regards to helping getting my Cat C licence and was even watching this exact video this afternoon right up until my examiner called me to take my test! And I passed with only 3 minors. Thank you so much for such a comprehensive run down of everything and the advice given its helped me out immensely.
watched today in the morning just b4 my test and i passed thanks what i kept in mind is always talk with yourself always what you gonna do and it worked the examiner was quite happy
Completely agree with everything; the roundabout advice was especially helpful. Started learning to drive a car September last year, passed car test (4 minors) February this year and jumped straight to the class 1 and passed (2 minors) Friday after a 3 day intensive (which was essentially a 1.5 day course as my first instructor was somewhat unprofessional). Your uncoupling/recouping video was very helpful as I could focus on the reverse knowing I understood the principle of the coupling.
Absolutely amazing team, I had my Cat C test today and passed 1st time all thanks to a great pair of instructors, the whole team are friendly and made it an amazing experience, I'd definitely recommend going there and I hope to see them again in the future thanks again guys 😁😁😁
Really appreciate these videos. I'm doing my Class 2 next week and they're helping a lot. One thing though, I know where the test routes are going to be, do you think it's a good idea to go for a drive in my car so I can learn the area?
That's a very good question Jamie driving the roots in a car can have pros and cons it can help however because you won't be in a category C you won't experience the splitting of lanes the breaking and the general size. It's not really about knowing the test routes it's about reading the road and adapting to the conditions don't worry I'm sure you will be fine good luck for your test hope all goes well.🤞🤞🤞🤞🤞🤞
@@NationalDrivingCentre That's a good point, plus the route may change and throw me. Better to be in the moment than thinking 10 steps ahead. Aside from the show me tell me questions, is there anything else I should revise? (Already got my CPC)
Greetings from Cork in Ireland. Just want to say thank you Guys so much for everything. Your no-nonsence practical advice was invaluble to me getting my Category C licence today. I’m absolutely thrilled. You Guys do fantastic work on this channel!
Just got my C+E licence yesterday! The final point you guys made was a real one! When I recognised where I was and realised I was around the corner from the centre, I went into overdrive making sure nothing went wrong at the end. Those final 2 minutes felt like an eternity haha! Passed with 1 minor! 🎉
From the beginning till today (end) i was watching your videos and passed all my test. Thank you so much for the confidence. You guys are really helpful. Watched every single video and helped me a lot. Thanks again

Thanks for posting this video. I watched this video just before I toke my class 1 practical test and passed 1st time. I watched all of your C+E training videos and they helped me out a lot to help me obtain that C+E licence
@@NationalDrivingCentre Thank you Paul and I only got one minor too. I will recommend these videos to the people I know that will be taking there HGV driving lessons for next year
Thank you for your videos. They really helped me to pass my C + E test, first time, last week. Especially the part where you talk about being positive. 😊
Thank you, thank you ! thank you to all the instructors. it was not easy but you guys encouraged me and gave me a valuable knowledge, skill and mind set to pass my C1. From the ladies at the reception, to all the instructors thank you once more and to all the drivers out there; no other driving school or center can teach or improve you driving skills like the National Driving center
I took my class 1 back in 1980 when you could not only go straight in for your class 1 but you could do a double "L". Take your class one, pass it and get your full car licence as well. My instructor gave me the heads up with the examiner. First half of the test he won't say much. If he still says not much into the second half of the test you've likely failed. If he turns into a chatterbox in the second half youre doing well and wants to see if you can be distracted and you're on the road to passing as long as you don't mess up. It was true and I passed first time. Good luck to all of you‼️😎👍✌️
I did my test in 1987, same thing then, you could do a double L, my examiner was a typical government one of the time, black overcoat, trilby, thick framed specs and the so important biro and note board.... He fell asleep on my test and I had to cough loudly to wake him.... Got back to the test centre, he asked a couple of highway code questions and said congratulations, you’ve passed....
Good instructors, good people. Thank you for helping in getting my Category C and [ C1(after a few months on a class 2 job)]. Well done, Keith, in getting me ready for my driving test and passed yesterday. 😷😜

Thanks for the upload's informative and still very relevant, I watched all your Class 1 material and it certainly helped expand my knowledge and feel confident. I passed my Class 1 today and watched your videos before hand, cheers guys.
Did my Class 2 through the Fire Service. My examiner was being assessed by HIS examiner. Double the pressure with three of us in the cab. Anyway, i passed & go for my Class 1 in 4 weeks🤞 Great watch.
I've enjoyed watching this RUclips video with driving techniques especially when it comes to the maneuvering on blind spots, checking all mirrors and nearside mirrors and signaling left or right, and I've seen the techniques of patience at the roundabout by waiting patiently and proceeded by gently acceleration. Well-done! Guys I'm still learning over here as I'm taking my lessons until then, Thank you GUYS.
Taking my test Friday first lesson today whent well thank you for providing these videos there a great tool it's hard to take in on the day of lessons but these help in the evening just to recap again thanks guys for your time 👍
What i did on my class one and two test was to talk my way thru the test. I said everything out loud that i could see Pedestrians, traffic etc So he could hear everthing i could see 👍
This lockdown disturbed my driving assessment appointment with you as I have done my medical test. Hopefully I will see you soon and guide me through the journey to being a lorry driver. Thank you
Going through my class 2 I watched all the associated videos which really helped me to pass last week. This channel has everything I needed to prepare for on the run up to my practical. Thanks guys
Your videos for the coach and bus gave me the edge and mindset to pass my cat D licence first time this week and I will start my rigid truck journey at the end of this month , I am such you will give me the edge this time as well, great instruction and practical application, thanks in advance
Just passed my class 2 driving test first time and that video helps a lot with it as i was referring myself to some of the stuff I’ve heard in it and it helped me.😀
Failed my C+E test today with 2 serious no minors. First one was that I did not stop on roadwork sign as I should, I stopped between the sign saying stop here when red light and the actual temporary traffic light which was a serious for my examiner. The sign and the light have been 2 meters apart. The other serious mistake resulted as 4 same minors, apparently I brushed the kerb with the trailer 4 times, I did not feel or see anything, I remember once being very close to the kerb inside the roundabout turning right but did not touch the kerb. Nothing I can do about, retaking the test ASAP hoping for a pass. You guys are great keep up the good work.
So sorry to hear that. Yes, very difficult to know when you're brushing a kerb in a C+E because it's so far away. My best advice is to improve observation to see where the vehicle is and who it is affecting. Best of luck for the next one🤞🤞🤞👍👍

Just recently passed my c+e as of typing this, coming straight from a car license which was one hell of a jump. And it was helpful tips and guidance from your videos and many others that got me through it, right from the start of the application. So thank you!! :D
I was failed for... Lane straddling. I actually got a serious for that and this is exactly why I failed. Apparently I have done it twice when it was unnecessary. I was doing it in a full sized articulated lorry, those two lane splits I did while turning right on the road I never been to before so. Unbelievable.
@@blacov89 I think lane straddling is a important defensive driving skill examiners like you to use designated lanes as much as possible, driving around London lol if you don't straddle you won't make a single corner lol,my second name is straddle lol
@@outlaw6421 You got it the other way around. I did straddle and therefore I failed as I received a serious fault for this very reason. Apparently defensive driving is not what some examiners are looking for.

No problem at all. So sorry to hear that you didn't make it on the first go. At least now you know what to expect. You know how the examiner is going to speak and what kind of things you're going to be doing on the test. Best of luck for the next one, hope all goes well. 👍👍🤞🤞🤞
Great work David. Well done. A great point thank you👍👍👍
hello passedmy class 2 today with only 3 minor fails I was worried sick all week, watched this video about 4 times and it really helped me chill out thanks
Thank you. Great job well done.
Just sent off for my provisional licence and looking forward to it all. This has been a great help, cheers guys 👍
No problem Dave. Time to get your head in the books and start that revision 🧐🧐. Good luck any problems give us a bell.👍👍👍👍
How did it go? I'm currently doing the same...
@@wilfswanderings hi mate, got my license back after 4 weeks, think it helped putting a thanks message on the envelope 😉
Sitting my theory stuff today, hopefully pass 🙏
Yessss I passed the theory 96% and hazard perception 87% 👌
@@daveflyinghigh3209 Great work👍👍
Just passed truck today NDC videos get me over the line and took the doubt out of my mind and gave me the mindset to pass.
Great work, well done. thank you so much👍👍👍
hi , passed my theory ,hazard and cpc mod 2 on friday, waiting for when i start to learn to drive class one now. thnx for all your videos as been very helpful and informative.
Thank you so much Martin. Best of luck👍👍
My test on Wednesday loved watching videos feel like great help
Thank you so much.
I’ve got my C+E test next month. I’ve gone straight from car to Class 1. Your videos are giving me some confidence. Thank you 🙏
Thank you so much Daniel, best of luck for the test. Hope all goes well with the training. 👍👍🤞🤞🤞
I'd love to do an HGV test just for the experience of doing it. Being a pro driver though would probably do my head in.
Thank you so much for your comment.
Guys that video is what every student should watch if they are feeling nervous before a lesson or before a test, great info thanks for the UPLOAD.
Thanks for the support Trucker Whitney 😊
I watched this video the night before my Class 1 test at Weedon Northampton. Bag of nerves, but you guy's (along with my instructor who was ace), settled me down. I passed with four minors. Thanks for the help.
Nicely done👍👍 great work👍👍. Thank you so much for your kind comments.
I pass my class 2 along with my mod 2 and mod 4 in October this year. Start my first job on Tuesday nex week and really looking forward to it. Plus I'm also thinking to take my C+E test soon
Well done Mohammed! Get some experience on the Category C first and when the time comes...give us a call! We have a C+E waiting for you 😉
@@NationalDrivingCentre Which app I need to download for start learn for theory test.
Great job, well done. Thank you for your kind words👍👍👍👍👍👍
watched today in the morning just b4 my test and i passed thanks what i kept in mind is always talk with yourself always what you gonna do and it worked the examiner was quite happy
Great work well done.👍👍👍👍 thank you.
Very helpful lads. Got my training in a couple of weeks. Butterflies just watching the vid lol. Thanks for that.
Same thing im stressed by watching a video lol
I'm sure we'll survive lol
Don't you worry Martin- stay cool and calm, trust the training and you'll have that licence! 😃
Noooooooooo stress ToleQ 😇
Thanks guys. Learning loads from your videos.
Thank you so much for your kind words, Daniel. And great work. Well done.. 👍👍
where they've been this year on holiday? well that's an easy question this year...not much of a conversation there
🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
Absolutely amazing team, I had my Cat C test today and passed 1st time all thanks to a great pair of instructors, the whole team are friendly and made it an amazing experience, I'd definitely recommend going there and I hope to see them again in the future thanks again guys 😁😁😁
Thank you so much for your kind words. Great work on the pass well done 👍👍
Watched your videos religiously leading up to my test Yesterday, passed my HGV class 2 first time. Thank you for all your tips and advice
Great work Dee. Well done thank you so much👍👍
Don’t talk with your hands on your test 😂
Paul isn't on test, but a very valid point 💪🏼

Just got my C+E licence yesterday! The final point you guys made was a real one! When I recognised where I was and realised I was around the corner from the centre, I went into overdrive making sure nothing went wrong at the end. Those final 2 minutes felt like an eternity haha!

That's me passed my class1 hgv test yesterday. Many thanks for the videos that have helped me to get through & get my pass certificate certificate
Great work, thank you so much for your kind words and I'm very big well done. 👍👍👍👍
Good luck to all of you‼️😎👍✌️
Wow Alec, that’s some major changes sins then. Thank you so much for the comment.
Thank you so much. Well done, Great job.

Did my Class 2 through the Fire Service. My examiner was being assessed by HIS examiner. Double the pressure with three of us in the cab. Anyway, i passed & go for my Class 1 in 4 weeks🤞

Thanks for the vid guy’s, big help. My instructor was useless, I learnt more from watching your clips. Passed my C1 today 1 minor happy days.😁
Thank you so much. Great job well done. Would you like to share which company you went with?👍👍👍
I've enjoyed watching this RUclips video with driving techniques especially when it comes to the maneuvering on blind spots, checking all mirrors and nearside mirrors and signaling left or right, and I've seen the techniques of patience at the roundabout by waiting patiently and proceeded by gently acceleration. Well-done! Guys I'm still learning over here as I'm taking my lessons until then, Thank you GUYS.
Thank you so much, that really means a great deal. Bets of luck 👍👍👍👍🤞

Nerves are killing me for tomorrow; been watching all your videos they have massively helped me, made the reversing easier as well!

I was failed for... Lane straddling. I actually got a serious for that and this is exactly why I failed. Apparently I have done it twice when it was unnecessary. I was doing it in a full sized articulated lorry, those two lane splits I did while turning right on the road I never been to before so. Unbelievable.
@@blacov89 so sorry to hear that you didn't make it this time. Best of luck for the next one.
