When i used to be a driving instructor, I came home one day and said to my teenage son, 'I was nearly killed today: He answered ''well dad thats what you are paid for'' 🤣😂
I finally got my driver's license after two tries! It is pretty easy to make simple mistakes that might lead to a failure during the test, but don't get discouraged if it happens to you. Failing doesn't mean you're a bad driver-just keep practicing and give it another shot. As for my case I took an extra step to help myself out. I reached out to a private licensed DMV attorney who helped me write a provisional letter. This allowed me to bypass the driving test altogether, and I was issued a provisional driver's license that's valid for 12 months. Now that I have my license, I can drive for a year before I need to renew! If you're feeling really nervous about the driving test, consider switching to a provisional driver's license. It's a great option that doesn't require a driving test. Good luck!
Test on Thursday, took it thrice already. I get extremely nervous and forget everything. Each test result is worse than the previous one. Can you help me with the contact of the private attorney who helped you?
I'll be having super driver anxiety in a couple of days during my road test! Now you got me curious, where did you find a DMV attorney, I may need one. My brother tried to give me pointer on parallel parking, my worst fear of the test, and it gets so much worse, I'll be using an SUV, not a small car!
My fourth fail was last Friday despite my preparations and watching videos i still failed, this last two were the worst, arrogant and rude instructors were the ones assigned to me. I am fed up tbh but seeing this gave me a slight relief. How can i contact this your private attorney of yours...
He is too proud to be taking lessons right now - hope the comments will humble him a bit so that he takes driving A LOT more seriously as he is currently a big danger for the road....
I think everyone coming from a foreign country needs a full driving review, whether they are coming to England or Canada. Like he himself admitted, he's bringing driving habits from home whatever they may be and they are not compatible with our roadside. Then accidents happen with lack of training and our insurance rates go up!
I absolutely agree. Different countries have different driving "cultures" and it's just not safe to allow license exchanges. I drive in Canada and would be a hazard in Korea because I drive the speed limit and keep space-- my driving just would not be compatible with the aggressive driving there! You should have to take written, road, and highway tests just the same as any new driver. And if you're actually safe to be on the roads, then that shouldn't be a problem.
@@williambartlett7483 There is a list of countries, whose licences are acceptable for exchange with a UK licence, because driving standards and laws are very similar, but India is not among them.
From Canada here. Passed my test first time. It’s not rocket science … nor is it some elite level of driving. You just need to pay attention and not act like your father owns the bloody roads.
I mean he has basic knowledge of how to move a car, he doesn’t struggle massively with the gears, brake or clutch. His first move off is because he’s probably used to having an actual handbrake next to him, as opposed to one near the wheel or an automatic parking brake. I’ve been used to a handbrake in my car and my most recent instructor has an automatic one (button) which took me a while to get used to. Only main issue I could see in regards to clutch and gears etc is that he puts that clutch in a lot when he doesn’t need to, it almost looks like he thinks that helps slow the car down alongside the brake 🤔
@@Hels97_ I genuinely could not figure out why he was going for the clutch in all those scenarios cuz if anything itd speed the car up if hes not coming to a complete stop 🙃
Dude is defending his ego hard at the end lol. Driving is hard bro, especially in a new country with new rules. You'll get it 👍 Gotta be humble and learn from mistakes.
Wrong. India is a Commonwealth country, and the rules are the same in every Commonwealth country worldwide. I believe the highway code is international. I'll use the Caribbean as an example, if I get convicted of drunk driving in some of the Caribbean islands, it follows me to the UK or Canada. Before you could get away because there were no computers but now people be careful out there. This guy can't drive, the clue is what he said first, his friends let him drive in the park.
@@bigon42 Are you ok mentally dude? You think India and the UK share the same highway code because they're in the commonwealth? The highway code made by the UK government is international? Hint: These two countries don't even have the same driving test, let alone highway code Every word you said is 100% wrong
@@bigon42 Have you seen footage in India, let alone visited it? The only thing that India kept from previously being a Commonwealth country in regards to driving is left-hand driving. Traffic lights, lane discipline and signals are mere suggestions and in many places across India, drivers operates on sheer chaos theory than actual driving. Ironically though, I'm yet to see an accident in India, but I think that's simply because everyone's head's on a swivel because the driving standards are so low.
@@SamoryDouglas that guy can't drive, PERIOD. His gear selection and clutch control are all over the place which are the two most basic skills to drive anywhere. In India, you are gonna get yelled at and abused in multiple ways if you stalled your car multiple times on a busy road. It doesn't matter if you are a learner, people have places to be- thats the mindset
I made the same mistake when I moved from one country to another and they drive on the other side of the road. I thought I could just do a mock test and get it all figured out I realized it’s not easy and I needed lessons cause muscle memory was making looking at the wrong directions, my leg was used to different road speeds, and the rules were different entirely when it came to traffic lights. So it’s always important to take a few lessons and do your studying before going for a test or a mock test
@@jasonvargas7564yeah I think this type of ego trip is common in India and in many other countries that aren’t as liberal. I don’t think he fully accepts his faults and it seems apparent to me that that is in fact the case. All around such a bad time
I’ve been driving for nearly 6 years now and you need to chill yourself out, put both hands on the wheel and stop being so cocky, you’ve got a lot of learning to do before you pass
Putting both hands on the wheel was one of the first educations in my driving lessons - in Germany its not allowed to steer a car with one hand (except you have to switch the gear). My driving instructor always told us: "Imagine a clock. Your hand should be at nine and three o'clock."
@@DanySahne85I’m in the UK and my instructors all taught me that too. The 3 and 9 O’clock, two hands on the wheel at all times Edit: obviously unless changing gear.
@@DanySahne85 In Belgium it is "allowed", just not during the exam. The same clock reference is made. However, in the north, Flanders, there's a mandatory session after 6-9 months of having received your license (since it's during that period new drivers start getting comfortable and thus begin taking more risks; it always involves a group talking session and during mine I remember someone talking about having committed a hit and run after hitting a bollard, which would've cost him his license if caught). During the session, certain risky situations are simulated (drunk driving, emergency braking, taking turns at a relatively high speed and aquaplaning). Some of them (the last 2) illustrate the importance of having both hands on your steering wheel. A lot of people aren't really happy with this extra session (despite it being very informative and generally quite fun), since it's, well, mandatory and quite costly at just over €120 (with some potentially very harsh fines if you don't show up, up to €4000). It's also dangerous to put your hand on top of your steering wheel - something which admittedly is extremely comfortable - since, if your airbag is deployed, there's a good chance your arm/hand will hit your face at a pretty high speed (airbags open at speeds of 150-350km/h), which can cause injuries.
Honestly, watching these are not only entertaining but helps with learning about mocktests, traffic and observations your instructor might make. Good knowledge to have as someone studying for a driver's liscene
4:44 I gotta say, that is a poorly designed road for turning right, or turning into that road. I'd hazard a guess that the "keep clear" sign is often ignored, and the combinations of the island for the pedestrians and designated traffic area makes turning right more awkward than necessary
He probably used to a different car as well. Not every car used manual transmission . Seems he struggles to know how and when to even shift. You have to know where the gears are and how to shift or you will stall every time let alone grind the gear box
The car was new to him which explains some of his confusion like the stalling when trying to pull away. My car has an automatic hand brake, so it doesn’t have the usual hand brake lever. The car’s hand brake was by his right knee; I’ve only come across such an arrangement in the USA.

He disclosed it right at the beginning when he said he's only driven in India and never had.a lesson in the UK. He's only applied for his theory test and got his provisional license, which if you're from the UK, you'll know is something you apply for before starting your lessons. The fact that he's not taken the theory test also means that he's probably not as familiar with traffic rules as he should be before attempting to drive on the road. It was her responsibility to ask these questions and ensure that it was safe for him to drive before agreeing to allow him to do the mock test! She, as the instructor, made an error in judgement here because he was upfront and honest from the start!
Now we know why he took mocktest rather a basic lesson. Stubborn and he thinks he knew basics. I hope he will be a good listener and a student in the future
Unless you are driving an Ferrari and making turns at 100 km/h there is zero reason to be tensed up with both hand on the steering wheel when you constantly have to change gears. Of course that is if you can control the car with one hand with ease
@@ektrfirefox2571 No one can properly control the car with one hand as well as if they were holding the steering wheel properly, but there are many people who falsely believe they can such as yourself.
@@PointNemo9 just the fact that you have been commenting so much on this channel tell me you must be a learner. In Ireland they make you do your theory before you’re even allowed behind the wheel. I think the uk might want to change that law after seeing this video 😂
I did an intensive course here in Scotland and sat my theory two months before my first practical lesson. The company I booked my lessons with insisted on it. I agree it should be mandatory for everyone.
As someone from Ireland I was shocked to hear in the UK you get your learner's permit first before you do your theory. I had assumed our driving rules were similar. How does that make any sense?
@@abbiereynolds8016 I thought so too, my friend moved to England was able to get lessons before her theory and I was like??? 🤨 how do you know the road rules? Or what certain signs mean?
I’m from Canada the road rules are roughly the same as the UK we have some traffic circles not many and we drive on the right not the left. Some cars are manuals most are automatics. When I was learning I drove the car a lot in empty parking lots and I got familiar with the car first before I hit the roads.
After my first two fails I came to realize that the test drive seem to be a business for the state, the evaluators purposely fail is because when we re-apply it lines their pocket. Luckily for me I got information about a private dmv agent who could help get my license without taking the test, it can be a provisional license or the official one but all the same I got the provisional license which will serve for 1 year then I renew again. sigh. Now I just watch videos to improve my skills.
I got my permit at 16 and I'm now 18 and I'm so scared of driving I never went back. I probably need to tho cuz my permit expired and it's not like I can use it for the rest of my life but I also can't even park a car. So they'd probably fail me if I went since I haven't even been on a road with more than one lane and I need my license for my car insurance. Please can you recommend the dmv agent who did yours?

Not everyone can drive but I sure can and its because of 'unfortunately' watching others fall through not knowing better.
As I’m watching this, “s**t” show I’m surprised Aman hasn’t kicked him out the car, outrageous, he was more interested into driving with one hand instead of focusing on the road and paying more attention to driving. One of his biggest issues is using the clutch to brake and the brake as a secondary stopping method. With the clutch pedal down he's essentially coasting and he's doing this around roundabouts or whenever he feels unsure of his speed or direction.

I’ve often considered becoming a driving instructor but watching this makes me question whether my nervous system could handle it! Kudos to the instructor who was an absolute champ, even under significant stress! To the driver I would simply say to get a bunch of lessons and try to clear your mind of your existing preconceptions of what “driving” actually is. I totally understand that driving in India might be completely different and so you need to unlearn to a certain extent what you learned there. I learned to drive in the UK and the first time I drove in another country, Spain in my case, was a big shock due to the fact I had to switch sides of the road and deal with different road signs and an unfamiliar car etc. It’s not easy. You also need to prioritise listening and get yourself into a focussed mindset, and start studying the highway code. I would even suggest finding a circular bus route and get yourself a ticket and a seat at the front and observe how the bus driver navigates traffic and roundabouts and junctions. Watch how they observe the road around them in their mirrors and how they smoothly but deliberately make progress in a much larger vehicle than a car. You’ll learn a lot. Oh, and both hands on the wheel please. I passed my test in 1989 and driving with one hand on the wheel and one on the gear stick would probably have resulted in a fail. An examiner won’t give you bonus points for looking cool on your test! :) Good luck.

I also want to add that this is the first video I've watched on this channel, and it was informative and tutoring. Most definitely because I'm going to Great Britain with 3 other friends who all have never been there. I'm sadly not the one who's going to drive due to age restrictions with the rental car company. It makes sense when he says at the end of the video that he was driving a 2 wheeler for 6 months in India. If he drove a 4 wheeler for that long in India he would have already been very good given how skillful you need to be able to drive in that occasional chaos.
4:50….What a sketchy junction, there should be some traffic lights here , very ambiguous… Steering with one hand is a strict no-no. Hands should typically be at the 9 and 3 position or 8 and 4
I have tried 8 and 4 and no no that is so unreliable. If I need to make a large rotation you’ll have to abandon it anyways. In a split second decision on a highway hands on the bottom of the steering wheel is essentially driving in the backseat. A bunch of mini rotations or having to let go of the steering wheel to reposition and BOOM you’re dead. 9 and 3 is also icky for me. I feel like I’m hugging the steering wheel, having to extend my arms more and driving uncomfortably is just not safe

As a learner, definitely, since you're unlikely to have good enough control of your car. In The Netherlands here you actually get failed on your test and told off by your instructor were you to drive with only one hand on the steering wheel (which is a good thing, this video serves as an example).

I took an extra step to help myself out.
Good luck!
Huh 🤔
Isn’t the permit the same thing as the provisional license?
Skipping it? No, not necessarily. But if you failed multiple times, then skipped it?

Then accidents happen with lack of training and our insurance rates go up!
I absolutely agree. Different countries have different driving "cultures" and it's just not safe to allow license exchanges. I drive in Canada and would be a hazard in Korea because I drive the speed limit and keep space-- my driving just would not be compatible with the aggressive driving there!
You should have to take written, road, and highway tests just the same as any new driver. And if you're actually safe to be on the roads, then that shouldn't be a problem.
I think that should only be the case for some countries. Countries that drive similar to the uk and have similar laws shouldn’t have to.

By the looks of his very first pull off. he not been driving for any 6 months in India. This looks like his first time in the car
I mean he has basic knowledge of how to move a car, he doesn’t struggle massively with the gears, brake or clutch. I’ve been used to a handbrake in my car and my most recent instructor has an automatic one (button) which took me a while to get used to.

In Belgium it is "allowed", just not during the exam.

You handled that whole situation so well. Very bold of him to assume that he was ready to drive on UK roads after 6 months of driving in a completely different country. Hopefully he realises that now and takes some lessons to understand our roads better.
Guys you shouldn’t be proper bullying this guy it’s his first time kind of in the uk please show him so respect you DONT know how hard it is and dangerous it is in India and he is used to India
Poor Aman, you're amazing in your patience, restraint, I'm sorry you had to endure this unpleasant and uncomfortable situation. I hope Harmeet can learn from his mistake and this test.
Please hold both hands on the wheel when youre going that fast 😭😭
Only idiots that lose control drive with one
Both my paws are less don't make up for a human hand and I still do great driving. That's a skill issue on your part if you can't handle it homie.
@@ClaseyMeanAhdoubt you’re old enough to drive pal
@@ohyeahyeah1068 Cats are not allowed to drive, yet I can still do a hell of a better job doing it than you buddy.
@@rosekay7090 All idiots drive one-handed, but not everyone who drives one-handed is an idiot. It's very safe if you've been in a car for more than 10 minutes, and the driving test allows it, which says something. Our test fails you if you don't check under your fucking seat before pulling off
I feel like some people just should not be behind the wheel of a car, I say this as someone who had two driving lessons and was told after the 2nd one that I should not be driving and said he wasn't gonna give me anymore lessons.
Patience is everything, I like that Ema just stopped it and prioritized their safety and took the the time to actually show him his mistakes, that was the best thing to do. Also, I think if he called for this test is because he is actually trying to adapt his way of driving to that new culture, so it is a beginning
I don’t believe that. Find a better instructor.
2 1h lessons or 2 2h lessons. If some instructor is telling you to give up after 2h, that instructors ass. Some people shouldnt drive, but noone can tell after 2h of stepping into a car for the first time
@@infinite3joyhave to agree sounds like someone not will to put the work in teaching
Why instructor said that
Best looking driving examiner, if I may say! I am currently in lessons and I sometimes drift too far to the left as well. That roundabout was a bloody maze!
One of his biggest issues is using the clutch to brake and the brake as a secondary stopping method. With the clutch pedal down he's essentially coasting and he's doing this around roundabouts or whenever he feels unsure of his speed or direction.
Thank you for saying that. So many comments but no one was mentioning the excessive coasting going on! His clutch was down more than it was up 😂
It's not even that he's making mistakes. The dude just can't drive!
Not just that, he doesn't seem to understand a thing. A huge red sign to wait there when the light is red, and he just drives past. Even after she told him to wait once already. I mean, how!? "I didn't see the red light." WTF?
He literally said he's new to UK and UK's roads are pretty messed up sometimes, y'all literally can't hate the man for taking a fresh driving test, I know it was unsafe and that he shouldn't drive like he did and the multiple mistakes, but it all depends on his origin.
@@75APSeven if it was a mock road test he is able to take classes for driving. he knew the roads were bad and had minimal concepts of uk roads. his driving juet needs more experience and luckily the other drivers payed attention to the road; and teacher stopped the test because it was too dangerous for everyone.
So ? We all started somewhere, he will be a great driver.
@@Annador123 there’a always options to start in parking lots and side roads like i did lol.
Driving in India isn't the same as driving in uk he shouldn't do a test just because he can drive in india
It wasn't a test it was a Practice test so had he passed it would NoT have resulted in a full licence 👍
@@Lordmarkstuckey4161 a practical test is a test it wasn't a lesson he tried to take a test to pass his driving
@@f20aru98it wasn’t a practical driving test 😂. She said multiple times it’s a mock test meaning not real. It’s just meant to see how he drives without someone guiding/teaching them but she ended needing to teach him anyway because he did not know a lot.
Its a mock test to evaluate where his level of driving is so they know what to focus on in lessons. She explained this at the start of the vid
Driving in india is way harder
Honestly surprised you let him continue he was extremely dangerous. Well done tho interesting watch. He definitely needs to start from the basics and have many many more lessons
Good luck.
its definitely a learning process but dont give up. you will get it eventually ❤ keep your head up

I love how this was so surreal with Aman’s rolling eyes and the lorry moving slowly 😂😂
Aman looked over it from “your handbrakes still on” lol
He’s not accepting feedback… Danger on the roads
@@Taqwatrain yeah, he is not the type of guy who gets in an accident, but causes them and keeps driving on because he wasn't involved.

Hey, just somebody here from the Netherlands,
I have to say that I would behave in the exact same way as this man did. Especially there where he had to take the exit to Uxbridge.
I also want to add that this is the first video I've watched on this channel, and it was informative and tutoring.
Most definitely because I'm going to Great Britain with 3 other friends who all have never been there. I'm sadly not the one who's going to drive due to age restrictions with the rental car company. But next to that, I also might be a little bit happy. Cuz I would stress myself out at those kind of intersections and junctions. 😅
So, to this man, keep your head up. I feel you. You'll get there eventually, if you haven't already done.
To the lovely lady making these videos, thanks for teaching me stuff about driving in the UK. I'll definitely watch more before I go.
Sincerely,
That one guy from the Netherlands ❤
People like you are so amazing, you are the reason why we still have care and love in this world. You were honest but also showed compassion for this guy and I know you will be blessed for it.
Sincerely,
The woman from London ❤
Ontario, Canada here. In a license road test here, he would have failed in the first 2 minutes, starting with it's the law to use both hands in a specific position. Here you're only allowed to make 2 minor mistakes or it's a fail.
I feel extremely anxious watching this guy 😮
Aman, for our safety & his, please tell him to take plenty of driving lessons!
Thanks 🙏
Lol you still sounded polite when you was sp frustrated
Hearing her blasting his driving brought back memories of when i took driving lessons lol especially the part on the roundabouts haha
Bet you didn’t like being criticised
I got my drivers license 20y ago; for new drivers, it's waaay more difficult then when I had to pass my test. I am experienced now but I can imagine it can be stressful bro.. It's so busy on the roads now. So be kind to this bro ❤
It makes sense when he says at the end of the video that he was driving a 2 wheeler for 6 months in India. If he drove a 4 wheeler for that long in India he would have already been very good given how skillful you need to be able to drive in that occasional chaos.
4:50….What a sketchy junction, there should be some traffic lights here , very ambiguous…
Steering with one hand is a strict no-no. Hands should typically be at the 9 and 3 position or 8 and 4
10 and 2 is what I was taught 😂
I have tried 8 and 4 and no no that is so unreliable. If I need to make a large rotation you’ll have to abandon it anyways. In a split second decision on a highway hands on the bottom of the steering wheel is essentially driving in the backseat. A bunch of mini rotations or having to let go of the steering wheel to reposition and BOOM you’re dead. 9 and 3 is also icky for me. I feel like I’m hugging the steering wheel, having to extend my arms more and driving uncomfortably is just not safe
I've never been so stressed by any of her videos
felt like I was on the edge the whole time 💀
Just passed my ADI part 2 so really digging into your channel at the moment. You have a great teaching style.
Awesome! Thank you! Welcome 🤗
We learn by doing, Good Teacher, Good Luck Harmeet.
This was the same question asked to me for my practical. Cleared in first attempt. Really like your videos. After passing the test I still keep watching your videos for the inputs you give while driving, they are very useful. Driving with a P plate now 😊.
remember he has only experienced proper driving in india and this test was just to see where he was at in terms of getting used to how it is driving in the UK.

In Australia the second you make a serious/dangerous mistake the examiner tells you to go straight back to the driving centre
Yeah. I'm Dutch and when the instructor has to intervene you've failed.
When I did my test, within 5 mins in I stopped a bit close to a red traffic light, and the examiner asked whether I wasn't a bit too close. I was sure I had failed there and then and all my nerves dissolved; the rest of the test went absolutely perfect because in my mind nothing was at stake anymore. I passed. Pfew...
In Italy they don't even let you continue to drive the car. The instructor drives you back
USA too, but since this is a mock test, I'm guessing it's handled differently.
@@simonepriolothat is super disrespectful 😂
So in the UK this does happen but only if the instructor doesn’t feel it’s safe enough to continue. Some will continue despite a serious mistake and they all have different levels of tolerance. I would be surprised if this man would have had anyone letting him continue as long as he did.

Driving with only one hand looks so unnecessary, arrogant and dumb
I always drive with one hand, but I've been driving for over 25 years, so I'm pretty sure I have better control than he did at least.
As a learner, definitely, since you're unlikely to have good enough control of your car. In The Netherlands here you actually get failed on your test and told off by your instructor were you to drive with only one hand on the steering wheel (which is a good thing, this video serves as an example).
I've been driving since the time I started learning how to drive. Sure it did take me some help to make judgment about the car, but same would happen if I'd be using 2 hands. So imo, it doesn't matter much if you use 1 hand or 2 hands, like Aman said, control is more important.
The way he was driving (terrible, to say he's driven in India) that too with one hand, yes it's show off
@@dark_faerie Regarding manual cars, steering in my right hand and keeping the left on gear, makes me comfortable and gain more control in swift gear shifting on a safe road.
@@erandajanaka3790 yes, I also drive a manual, so most of the time I keep my hand close to the shift knob for better reaction time if I need to shift. It just makes more sense!
his driving is honestly reasonable; if you know anything about south asian or middle eastern streets you know how reckless and dangerous it is to even walk down the sidewalk, so imagine driving. when he thought the black car was going to come out in front of him it was probably a trauma response of some sort. you did a great job ego checking him and teaching him
I get he’s coming from somewhere that his driving might be perceived as reasonable, but as a driver in the UK, this is NOT okay, and the majority of his driving and behaviour was incredibly dangerous / hazardous to other drivers / pedestrians etc.
@@MissZoeiyou’re yapping so hard yet if you were driving in Spain with uk experience they’d fail you in the first few mins. So yes country is a huge factor
Just because one country has a backwards and dangerous driving culture doesn't mean that it's acceptable for someone to bring that over here.
