    I walked into my AD on my birthday to ask about the Pelagos 39 with no expectation of the 42. I tried the 39 on but is just too small for my wrist. The dealer said he had the 42 arrive that morning and offered it to me. I tried it on and just appreciated it on my larger wrist. A great birthday gift to myself..! 3 months later and I love it. It does get lots of comments from people which is nice too. Lume, eligibility, clasp extension and comfort. Love the txt on it (that’ll trigger some) lol..

    Perfect summation when you said it was Tudor's most perfect execution of a modern watch. And lets be fair; so few companies are really trying to make original designs these days, especially when it still is instantly recognizable as that brand. Also...perfect watch if you live around the polar circle. You'd be using that lume 24/7 for 6 months! Maybe they will make the watch for the Marine Nationale a Pelagos with slightly more svelte dimensions? Great presentation as always Xavier. Say Hi to the Ming

      @theknightswatch  3 года назад

      Thanks Michael, and ya a MN version of the Pelagos would be pretty insane. If they ever made a slightly smaller Pelagos I’d probably but it instantly. But who knows. The ming says hi back. Review probably early next week. It really was a surprising one.

    This is a superb watch. You can wear it in many different scenarios. Looks outstanding on the bracelet, the Tudor rubber diver strap, and on the right leather strap as well.

    Always makes me laugh how much people complain about the text on the Pelagos but give the Daytona and the Deepsea a pass! The Pelagos is a fantastic watch, an unapologetically modern mechanical instrument. There's no diver I'd rather have than this one!

    • @theknightswatch

      Completely agree, I actually prefer the Pelagos with more text, for some reason it just looks good, same goes for subs, the 5 liners look better to me ( at least in person)

    Just get the blue one again and call it a day. I've had mine now for 3 months and all my Omega's, Rolex's, IWC's, Breitling's, etc are just gathering safe dust. Blue Pelagos is perfect.

    I've owned the last two generations of the Diver 300m with black dials, and never considered the Pelagos because I thought it was too big. You've changed my mind with your terrific review! And how did you source that Ming 17.06 Copper?? You lucky b@st@rd! Haha! Absolutely love that watch!!!

    • @theknightswatch

      In my experience the diver 300 does wear sleeker but the Pelagos still fits surprisingly enough! Haha got the ming on trade, a really fun one and review coming soon!

    Thanks for this video. Thank you for measuring the bezel and the case. This is exactly the info I was looking for. I also have a 6.5" wrist and worried the Pelagos is too large. I'm actually more interested the LHD but would wear it on my left wrist. I actually purchased the San Martin SN0121 39mm Pelagos homage (actually very nice watch) to test drive Pelagos 39 and BB58 sizes. I also purchased a Pagani PD-1671 42mm homage to test drive a Pelagos. The Pagani has very similar dimensions to the Pelagos...41mm case, 42mm bezel, 50mm L2L, 22mm lugs and 15mm thick. Do you still wear the Pelagos? What's your honest opinion of it on a 6.5" wrist? I'd be purchasing online so can't really test it on the wrist.

    • @theknightswatch
      @theknightswatch  2 месяца назад

      Something I’d also try to measure is see how long the top of your wrist is where you typically would wear a watch. Mine is about 52 off the top of my head so it just fits the pelagos. I love the 42 size and may get one again in the future but I haven’t had the watch for a couple years. I also have the 39 San Martin and probably would say I prefer the sleekness of the smaller size but I would absolutely wear the Pelagos 42 if I still had it. It’s bigger for sure, but that’s why you have multiple watches. This is not a suit and tie watch, it’s just an everyday, legible, comfortable sports piece. And does well in that area.

    Fantastic review! Best ever. Would you prefer a Seamaster or a Pelagos? Which one do you think will keep it value better in time? Thank you

    • @theknightswatch
      @theknightswatch  2 года назад +1

      Thank you and sorry for the late reply. It’s a hard choice. I would say the Pelagos may keep its value better as I have seen the prices rise up on the secondary of those over the last couple years. Even so it’s a pretty even match. I thing the dead master looks a lot nicer and more “premium” in person but personally I like the design of the Pelagos more. Just going to have to try to see them in person!

    Great review, I have the exact one as you. It really is an amazing tool watch and I feel it suits my style in that I appreciate quality products such as knives, tools, motorcycles, bicycles, shoes, etc. but at the same time I don’t like to appear flashy or gaudy. So the fact that the Pelagos is brushed titanium really makes it pop but in a casual way. As you mentioned it is ridiculously comfortable on bracelet, and again, like you stated the included silicone strap was a bit underwhelming and that is my opinion as well and therefore always wear it on bracelet. I think an after market strap from Rubber B has some excellent offerings. You should hang on to yours for a while as I think you will really come to love the watch more and more over time! Cheers.

      @theknightswatch  3 года назад +1

      We can only hope they release a smaller Pelagos but besides that I don’t know what other major update they would do. I would recommend getting one used so that way if some new version comes out, you can basically get all your money back and put it into the new one.

    I bought the LHD a month ago its an amazing watch. Going by all the reviews i saw beforehand, i expected to have to settle for the 39 as many say its too big amd thick which is nonesnse, if tou have a normal sized wrist or above .

      @@Jimmycricket- I thought the 39 was too small and light your opinion maybe different. The LHD doesn't really have many scratches that you can see at normal viewing distance the brushed finish seems to hide them , I'm told minor stratches can be removed with a pencil eraser. The stainless steel clasp shows far more scratches than the case or bracelet.

    The Pelagos is 42mm and the regular black bay is 41mm. Going by those same parameters, if Tudor comes out with a “pelagos 58” variant, keeping the 1mm larger than the black bay would make it 40mm. Please for the love of all things holy Tudor, make this in 40mm!!
