Another disturbing thing is that they're too oblivious and naive and most of the time, they want to suck the fame and fortune out of their own child. That is disgusting beyond words existent. My parents wouldn't even allow me to use social media (like Facebook, snapchat, Instagram ect) and I only got 2 hours of "screen time" (is what they called it). They raised me "old school," I thank them for that every time I get to see them. Now that I'm a young adult, I love to be out in nature and enjoy the small things in life. It's a much better way to live (at least in my opinion).

It’s cause unlike mitt Romney stated, corporations are NOT people. They don’t actually give a shit about racism, sexism, child/physical/sexual abuse, or other unethical/criminal behaviour. Money and profit is all they care about. So how they regulate or react to controversy and illegalities, is solely dependent on if ignoring or acting on these issues is monetarily advantageous to them.
I experienced sexual abuse as a child from a close family member, and hearing Drake detail the beginning of the assault he endured nearly brings me to tears. It’s hard getting through this video, but the fact is that these types of encounters are far too common. I’m glad you’re shedding light on this touchy subject and, in ways, being the voice that I couldn’t possess as a child myself. No child should ever have to experience sexual abuse.

I think the MeToo movement was one giant pivot on behalf of the entertainment industry to sacrifice anyone who’d abused women (and men in some cases), while actively ignoring the many, many cases of child abuse. In the end it was branded as a women-first moment in order to side-step the issue of child abuse. MeToo was basically Hollywood’s way of absolving themselves while making minimal sacrifices and taking ZERO responsibility.

the turnaround from the mid-80's with Nick being the lowest rated channel to one on the top rung of the ladder by the mid-90's is really impressive.

The media sure took its time to make their predatory behavior an issue. 10 years ago, parents were already warning people of the cringe situations going on and off stage at Nickelodeon.
A lot of kids didn't get justice because they weren't believed in those days.
The media takes their time because groups with money collude with one another and watch each other's backs. Then when the dust has already settled, they'll release shit like this as if it's there to taunt everyone and say, "HEY ASSHOLES, THIS SCUMBAG DID THIS ALL THESE YEARS AND NONE OF YOU WERE ANY THE WISER!"

Additionally, yes the channel creator IS promoting gambling if he’s being paid to do an ad read, that’s the EXACT definition of promotion.
Furthermore, people with gambling problems typically DO avoid being around things that trigger them (such as gambling promotions and depictions of gambling in entertainment) for a fairly long while in the early stages of their recovery in the same way drug addicts do in their early recovery, yes they have work to do, that’s the entire point, but when people with totally unrelated content start promoting gambling that will by it’s very nature of appearing on a channel that otherwise has nothing to do with gambling is entirely unexpected, which absolutely can create problems for people who are attempting to avoid addiction triggers.
I’m not going to insult you or anything, but you’re fairly misinformed on this topic, so you should probably avoid talking about subjects that you aren’t familiar with in the future, it’s not the best look for anyone when they chime in on subjects that they aren’t informed about.

These grown people who abuse kids all have one thing in common- they all have the closest bonds with kids and many kids find that endearing, especially the ones who don't share that bond with their parents. As they grow closer to the kid, they start taking advantage of them. It boils my blood to remember all this and to realise that its the exact same formula for most of these creeps.

Honestly this one, or many of them, aren't really hot off the press... more like heat-lamped by dozens of commentary/essay channels. Patrick has nearly homogenized to his brethren; his channel uses slightly slower editing and a soothing cadence, but the "research" he presents is on par with Illuminaughti (sp?) and her infamous Fyre documentary. That is to say, it's all 2nd pass reporting, rather than anything unique whatsoever. The commentary community has turned into little beyond rehashed tales and cannibalistic callouts on each other.
I never really thought about it before, but the Nickelodeon logo being an orange foot during the Schneider era is ironic and surreal.

A bunch of people in this comment section are making light and making jokes about Dan Schneider but this is f***ing serious, can we not forget that real life peoole have been affected by all these situations and it is f***ed up. We are all aware of the affect of childhood trauma has in adulthood so can we not make jokes and make light of the fact real life people had to go through all of this
Sometimes only way people can cope is by laughing or making joke doesn’t mean they not care . Me for instance I make jokes all the time of my past tramas so I can deal with them and go in about the day they probably a few who are being jerks but not everyone

The sad part (and something I can understand) is that many people who defended Dan come from broken families. He helped them, as bad of a person as he turned out to be, and so its likely difficult for them to recognize anything he may have done to them or to reconcile that the Dan Schneider who helped them deal with so many personal struggles is the same Dan Schneider causing problems for others
