Owen Hart falls to his death in the middle of a show in front of thousands of people, Vince has them haul his body off and then continues on with the show with Owen's blood still on the mat as if it wasn't a big deal. If that doesn't say everything about his character, I don't know what does.

Everyone has known Vince is a monster and that it's not just an act since the 90s. The sheer number of wrestlers who have tried to call him out, only to be ignored is terrifying.
That's why it's so important to know the source of you consume or where you're at because behind every product is someone pulling the strings. And I didn't even realize that Vince was the puppeteer for the most part controlling how these wrestlers act. I mean I did to some degree but I didn't know how deep everything went.
12:16 OK, some quick clarifications here. 1. The woman you see on screen is not Katie, that is Terri Runnels, a female wrestler Kane was dating in storyline at the time. 2. That is not Kane fucking a corpse live on air, that is Triple H, his rival at the time, in a Kane Mask and a mannequin. The whole thing was fake even in storyline and was just a failed attempt for Triple H to try and provoke Kane. Doesn't make the angle any better.
I was waiting to see which things would be incorrect/mis-researched. Especially because most of Pat's vids are topics/people I don't know much about, this is one of those rare ones where wrestling fans will probably know 8x the stuff covered. As a childhood wrestling fan and military member, it is abhorrent what happened to Ashley, but it also makes sense that two of the best organizations at covering up sexual assault did so.
I was a big fan of the divas, for obvious reasons, as a kid but even then I thought they were too gratuitous with what they put them through on air. It didn't help that they were literally treated like barbie dolls during that era when Ashley spilled the beans that they had to jump through hoops to get any semblance of training for actual wrestling. They had little to no professional training that Ashley and who knows who else got injured during practice.
FACTS but also patrick said that kane did that katie vick segment where he had sex with a deceased body on raw in 2003 even though that was triple h and he also said that the the name wrong of the PPV owen hart died at and called it over the limit not “No mercy” since wwe did not start doing the “over the limit” PPV until 2009.

I'm a corporate employee and do 12 hr physical work in 110F heat and over 60% humidity. Every morning our manager gives a speech in which he acknowledges our hard work, says that we can take a break at any time, while also reminding us of how fortunate we are to be paid that good and get bonuses. Yes you can officially stop work when the heat gets too much, but do that too often and suddenly they start noticing the leaves you're taking and the overtimes you're skipping. I remember back in 2005 when Jim was written off TV because he had colon cancer, and Vince decided it would be a good idea to write a vignette around it. Vince played a character called "Dr. Heiny", and he spent the segment pulling things out of Jim's colon like a football helmet and Jim's own head (get it?). I soured on Vince ever since that moment, and it's even harder to forget considering it aired the night before my birthday. Jim may have been involved in an angle with the McMahons at the time, but it was so ghastly, and the audience had no clue how to react beyond stunned silence.

I am from South America and love wwe so much I couldn't live without looking at new chapters, you can say I am strange but they make me laugh and enjoy so muxh that I re-watch old chapters just to overcome sadness.
For someone, anyone, of his status, it takes a mountain of evidence and controversy WITH a media shitstorm. Even back in the 80s, Vince already had many accusations and scandals but he was able to wriggle out of each one due to his connections and how much easier it was back then to bury anybody trying to smear him even if it was true. For someone, anyone, of his status, it takes a mountain of evidence and controversy WITH a media shitstorm. Even back in the 80s, Vince already had many accusations and scandals but he was able to wriggle out of each one due to his connections and how much easier it was back then to bury anybody trying to smear him even if it was true.

Weren't children watching this in the US? I always thought this was just some fake fighting and cheesy storylines, but some of this is almost akin to snuff porn.
The rating system puts the responsibility on the households; if it's PG-14 and is broadcasted at night, why do you let your children watch it? that would be their argument. They eventually cut it back big time after year 2000 and it became a lot less extreme

The whole reason for the attitude Era was because Vince got too comfortable and catered to the kids they were losing to WCW that was integral for WWE, I was surprised that it was left out.
The steroid scandal rocked the prowrestling industry into a recession so it definitely took the rise of the NWO in WCW to push Vince again.
