That's why we here at Cultaholic Wrestling have undertaken the monumental task of presenting more than 60 years of WWE history in this very special presentation, in which we will attempt to do justice the life story, so to speak, of the McMahon empire, the family business that has entertained millions for well over half a century. You’re welcome!
You guys are amazing. Such quality wrestling info and news. Amazing quality, great personalities, varied content. Much love from across the pond in America 🇺🇸
This is amazing
Great video
Although Hulk Hogan, Stone Cold, John Cena, & Roman Reigns were the faces of WWE. Undertaker was still the cornerstone for WWE in all of those era’s!!!
What about Rock?
@@Jetup24 the rock was never THE FACE of era of wwe. But he was always one of the too guys!
Fr all he truly is the cornerstone, all those faces of the company came and went while Undertaker was the one true constant for 30 years
@@TheGrandDame27 I'd say in the year 2000... The rock was defo the face of the WWE, that was rock's year
First it was Andre the Giant and then it was the Undertaker
This is what separates Cultaholic from the rest, they make fantastic in depth documentaries/ videos like this, what culture and other RUclipsrs should take notes
What Culture needs to figure out how to keep politics out of their videos before they attempt anything of this magnitude
@Max B This is just screams that you're butthurt that they don't represent whatever your politics are. You're being a snowflake while probably calling people that.
@@DevilSurvivor69 Maybe you don't understand most people just want wrestling content. If they wanted politics they would turn on the news or watch their favourite political commentator. Annoying activists are like locusts infecting everything from gaming communities to pushing politics in films and series. People like to escape reality without being told what awful people they are and they don't like being told how they are supposed to feel or think. Fuck What Culture lol, bunch of pasty white boys that love to prop themselves up on a pedestal of superiority feeling so high and mighty. I don't care wether somebody is on the Left or Right. Just stick to talking about wrestling. It's people like that what keep everyone divided when they should be joined together over their love of wrestling. You shouldn't judge people by your own standards, not everyone is like you.

Nazis...
They’ve gone mad. We’re one step closer to the “every wrestler ever” ranking.
Wat happened to jobbers ?
Every. Wrestler. Ever.
after the arrival of the shield and undertakers winning streak finally being broken by lesnar, we quit watching wwe. when aew came along it was about a year before my mom died from cancer that i decided to start watching wrestling again. for my mom and i all my years of growing up, watching wrestling together was our thing. much like how the world lost Luke Harper aka mr. brodie lee which broke my heart to find out he died. my mom's passing on april 24th 2021 broke me even more. i miss her everyday and watching this, not gonna lie, i did cry a few times.
1:26:14 that’s one of those things about wrestling today that I really miss, the flashes going off whenever someone would do a big move or something worth taking a picture and then seeing the 10s of thousands of flashes going off. It always made those moments actually feel big.
It’s just one of those small details that I really miss tbh.
That and every arena is filled with LEDs now
@@bxsicjeff2819makes them stand out though
It brings to mind iconic moments like HBK diving onto Triple H at SummerSlam 2002 and Brock Lesnar's spectacular botch at WrestleMania XIX.
Nothing makes a Sunday better than Cultaholic breaking down the history of WWE
This was class
I don’t know. Watching the patriots and cowboys both lose in exceedingly embarrassing ways was pretty cool
@@richardtherichard26 oh that’s always makes a Sunday great
How is your comment 5 days ago when the video is only 4 days old 🤨
@@Respect12948 because they had it set the day before to premiere
This did not feel like a 3 hour video. What an absolute beauty of a documentary.
I felt the same way. This could have been 5 hours and I wouldn’t have noticed. I can listen to Sam and Jack do documentaries all day long. Educational and therapeutic. ❤😊
It’s crazy how people booed Cena and claimed to have hated him, but he was literally keeping wrestling in the mainstream by a string for years and now everyone misses him
Ernest...No.. Characters like him are the reason why people stop caring 15 years ago..Facts..He could never fill Hulks, Rocks, Or stone cold shoes.. Just a silly character made for the 8 an under age group.
John Cena is the 🐐
@@BrandonApolloOfficial hulk hogan also a superhero like character always wins and impacted other careers and his problems out side wrestling but john cena is the guy which is the important piller of wwe
@@BrandonApolloOfficial If Vince had booked him better, and if he had chosen to elevate guys like Barrett and Riley when he was in his prime instead of burying them, he would be right up there today with those three guys. He had the talent, it was mostly the booking that let him down. Not saying he didn't make some poor decisions that ended up having a negative impact on the company, but still. It was mostly the booking.
And this is what I get for allowing someone else to use my account. $_$
John Cena is the epitome of “you don’t know what you have until it’s gone”.
Facts man smh fans that booed literally sabotaged John cena career total BS cena should have and could have won more championships and been on top more at like hogan.
@@JayWIll2000sI just watched wwe on 2000s bcoz of him. Idk he had that charisma as lead guy. His style and song and entry and his talks were cool to listen. I know it's scripted but he did his character very well. When I got older I loved stone cold and rock much more.
They're two of the main reasons I stopped watching wwe. Boring as hell when we'd just had years of absolute madness with the attitude era.
Give me 100 Hardyz, Dudleys, Blackmans over that repetitive boring crap that came after.
Don't miss him at all. He's the guy who drove me away from wrestling. The Super Cena era is one of the worst periods in WWE history. Just a dollar store version of the Rock and Austin.
@@NicCage-eq9tnCena's alot different. Not in-ring style, all 3 are pretty much brawlers with a few power moves, but with Austin it's better to see him chase the title and fight Vince, Cena's deal was crazy title reigns against whoever.
This is going to be an unreal video. Shout out to every single person at Cultaholic. UP THE FUCKING CULTAHOLIC!
I can't help but appreciate the sheer level of professionalism with which you spoke on the Benoit tragedy. It really took me back to first hearing of it on the news.
Life’s a trip
Three weeks later and this video could've actually been the COMPLETE history
I'm only 30 minutes in and all I can say is. Wow
The production value, the editing, the commentary, the seamless transitions. Absolutely everything on point lads ❤️
Now finished the whole thing I'm amazed
Rock’s importance was grossly understated. He wasn’t even mentioned until ‘98 and he was mentioned as just another name among many others. like he didn’t go on to be the biggest star in the hottest year in the history of the company in 2000.
A great, great documentary but should have made more mention of Rock's transition from hated face in 1997 to carrying the company throughout Austin's absence in 2000. Likewise, no mention of HBKs heel turn in 1992 or Bret Hart winning the IC from Piper, two moments that laid the foundations of the New Generation.
Still great viewing, though. Thanks lads! 👏👏👏
@@alm5266 I agree
Agreed
Based on the thumbnail it appears that the creators of this particular video lean towards other stars than the rock despite his status as arguably the GOAT

Lol
The best ?
@@ooooo524 yes! This is well-developed and has a voice built for it. Gives much necessary info
I wouldn't call this a documentary. This is more of a Wikipedia article in video format. Not saying that's a negative thing, because this is great. But a documentary usually involves going in-depth on a specific subject.
There's always one.😒
Very professional 1952 to 2022 wow. Very rare I would even consider or attempt to watch an almost 3hr documentary, but glad I took the time, thank you. I hope you hard work and talents bring you more success.
This is why Cutoholic is one of if not the best Wresting channel. Them doing stuff like this puts them above the rest of all the other wrestling channels. This documentary is so good. This is something you would see on TV. It's that good!
This is the best wrestling documentary ever created.
Guys - this was a stunning piece of work. Bravo the fantastic team at Cultaholic. It'd be cool to see one of these for WCW and ECW as well at some point down the line. Maybe even a whole series on a bunch of the old territories depending on what information is available.

This is as epic as it gets. No huge TV company with their multi-million dollar budget can beat that attention to detail, delivery and production value
They certainly could, but they don't.
@@thebugaboo that's not anywhere close to the truth. Just like we could feed the whole world but don't.
@@thebugaboo it's proven again and again. There is more than enough food, we just choose to worry more about individual success. But you really disagree that big networks could absolutely make this content if they wanted to?
@@thebugaboo I just think it's a wild fallacy that simply because an entity doesn't do something, that automatically means that they can't.
@@thebugaboo I never mentioned a time period, I simply said that right now WWE or whomever could make just as good a documentary if they were motivated to do so. Probably much better but I'll be conservative and say just as good. When did it become anything but a brand new company that I was talking about, in referring to a well established very very rich company with unlimited resources in both money, video library, and way more experienced staff.
This def helped me catch up with some of the more recent storylines as I get back into watching WWE again. Been watching once more for almost a year and I am so excited for this next Wrestlemania!

The complete history of World Wrestling Entertainment...? These CW guys are going big to close out 2022 with a huge documentary that is not sugarcoated. Great.

This is far too good , should be a 3 part netflix style documentary. I hope you are all rewarded financially for the clear time and effort you put into this. You choose the perfect guy in Sam to narrate
Damn, it’s amazing how you guys pump out better, more authentic documentaries than the WWE themselves, these kind of videos are so much better than stuff like the A&E docs and stuff. Thanks for this great content, must have been a massive undertaking
Best part about this:
Learning the entire WWE lore.
Worst part about this:
You keep searching every single moment of your childhood memories coming back.
44:27 Many who grew up during the Attitude Era assume that it was when pro-wrestling peaked in popularity. But the highest Nielsen rating that the Monday Night Wars achieved for a single show was 8.1 when Raw went unopposed, while the highest for Nitro was 6.0, also unopposed. Even if you combine those numbers despite them happening on different dates, they still don't reach that 15.2 by the 1st Main Event in '88. An 11.6 was achieved by the 2nd iteration, 12.8 by the 3rd, 8.6 by the 4th, & 6.7 by the 5th in '91. Saturday Night's Main Event also drew bigger ratings in general (reaching a zenith of 11.6) than either Raw or Smackdown (the latter maxing out at 5.8) during their respective heydays. That's one of the reasons why The Golden Era is officially referred to as such.
I hope you have forgotten when austin came out in jab 99 to protect man kind win ..with head shot on rocks head ..that was 9.1
@@jammyrapper7426 That was for a segment only. Raw drew 5.7 overall while Nitro had 5.0. At least half of the original 31-episode run of Saturday Night's Main Event drew higher than 9.1.
Just finished watching it and I think it is safe to say that this is Cultaholic's Magnum Opus from the 5+ years that it has been in operation. Bravo to Justin, Sam, and Dan for the excellent documentary and to anyone else who was involved in some form or another. It was quite a herculean task but you guys pulled it off.
I saw someone mention it below that it would be cool to see this done with WCW and ECW. At least the upside for those is it won't be as long to work on given they haven't been around as long.
This has got to be the best youtube video ever. I had to watch in parts due to the length, but completely worth the watch

I'm a wrestling historian, and after watching this, I finally was able to fill in the blanks about the company's existence before Vince Sr.. Information about Capitol Wrestling in it's early stages is hard to come by. What little I've read or heard has been sporadic at best. Thanks for pointing in the right direction to dig some more! 👍👍👍
Capital Wrestling was created by Vince Snr and Toots Mondt, their was no company before Vince Snr.
Im a professor of pro wrestling
@@andrewft31 Bro did you not listen to the documentary at all? Vince Sr. did NOT start and was not even a founder of Capital Wrestling… Jess McMahon was the original McMahon behind Capital Wrestling. Vince sr. Aka Vincent J. McMahon took over the company after his father if I’m not mistaken died. Then turned Capital Wrestling into the WWWF which later got shortened to WWF. Which then his son Vincent K. MacMahon aka Vince jr. bought from him & 3 other shareholders who keep it as WWF until he has to change it to WWE.
I know right. It's almost treated as if it all started with Bruno. I've always wondered why they keep everything from the early days so hush hush
Why would you care so much about mostly naked men, touching other mostly naked men? Definitely one of the weirdest forms of "entertainment"

Hogan v Andre, The Montreal Screwjob, CM Punk’s Pipebomb, Vince finally retiring, and WrestleMania X-7 are probably the 5 most influential and memorable moments/events in this amazing and controversial company. I sure do miss the Attitude Era.
Bruno beating Rogers, Hogan Beating Sheik, Wrestlemania 1, Ric Flair Bringing Big Gold to WWF and winning the Rumble, Tyson joining Wrestlemania 14>>>> the pipebomb and X-7
Stone Cold vs Bret Hart, Wrestlemania 13 is also a very influential moment in WWE as the double turn started the Era we known as the attitude era.
