I'm lowkey blown away by how the whole nWo started. Like, Bischoff studied wrestling in Japan, which is clever, and Hall and Nash just wanted more money so they jumped ship and then they all just went like, "yeah let's do this" and that's the beginning of the biggest storyline in wrestling. It all just kinda came together.

Hogan was a sloppy heel, if it wasn’t hogan or sting it would have been no different then hhh or Jarrett, even jbl in their reigns of terror, they barley got over, I’m glad it never happened but sting would have been much better in hogans spot in the nwo as a game changer heel, I view hogans run as John cenas run from 2006-2014 it popped but got stale really really fast

Sting was life when I was a kid. The look, hanging out in the rafters, how he was always able to outsmart the nWo, the baseball bat. So many things WCW and Steve Borden did right by that character for this era. Being a fan of Batman as well, Sting I think really hit a lot of those vibes as well. As a kid, I was always more into Nash as a heel. He always oozed scumbag (low key he still does in interviews and stuff too lol)

Should have been a steel cage match at Starrcade with Sting vs Hogan. This way to keep everyone out. Then have the NWO come down to try and get in and help Hogan but WCWs best come down to help avenge Sting. WCW stop NWO from helping Hogan and Sting goes over clean. Then 98 could have been the split of NWO with Nash challenging Hogans Leadership. This leads to the Wolfpac. Have the War Games match. And Starrcade 98 Hogan vs Nash to put and end to all the NWO mess once and for all

    • @jessewood6964

Definitely the biggest and most important turn ever! Without him going heel, the nWo fizzles out in a month, there's no Monday Night Wars, and no Attitude Era!!! That's how I see it at least. Even though he wasn't a part of the WWF during the Attitude Era, without Hulk becoming Hollywood Hogan and the 3rd man in the nWo, WCW doesn't takeover the ratings and force Vince to phase out the old school characters and get more mature and take bigger risks with the storylines so we probably would have been in the old school period much longer and certain superstars may not have gotten over (Stone Cold, Edge & Christian with The Brood, Godfather, Val Venis, etc) at all without the Attitude Era.

For instance, I could see a monster Crow Sting leading the nWo and plowing through WCW top faces like the Brandon Lee's character in the movie "The Crow". Whereas, Hogan could have emerged as WCW's top babyface and hero, while also changing over to the Hollywood gimmick.

Vince messed up a lot of great opportunities to be fair.. the whole invasion angle could have been the greatest thing ever if he had patience and if he was hell bent to destroy the WCW wrestlers.. people like DDP, Stink and in a way Booker should have been so much more. Imagine if the NWO were there, although I understand that they were getting paid still and did not need to come in straight away, which for me killed the invasion angle big time.

I remember being at a WWE event at MSG when Scott Hall was probably doing his last Razor Ramon character there. At the end of his match, fans were chanting, "You sold out!" Scott picked up a microphone and said, "So?" They knew he was heading for WCW for a better salary. This video provided an example of Vince's attitude towards his wrestling roster that still stands: he believed that the wrestlers were expendable and didn't appreciate them for their giving their all. I don't think he appreciated them from a business perspective.

I don't think I can agree with Hall and Nash looking lame by coming out to hip-hop music. Hall and Nash were legitimately fans of hip-hop music and actually came up with most of the NWO's "street" style. Nash has notably said that he started wearing the backwards bandana because he was a fan of Tupac. Keep in mind, those "old guys" coming out to hip-hop music were the same age as members of the NWA (rap group) and despite being significantly older, Randy Savage was even a big fan of hip-hop music and made his own hip-hop album after he left wrestling. Anyone who knows Konan knows how well hip-hop music fits his personality as well. In my opinion there was absolutely nothing unauthentic about the Wolfpac using hip-hop as their theme. That was actually very similar to their real personalities. Except for maybe Luger and Sting, the members of the Wolfpac were legitimately fans of hip-hop music.

Konnan and Randy Savage both loved the Hip Hop Scene.. both made Rap Records.. it is just odd hearing a guy who is a Rap Fan himself say it was corny.. I think he's saying they were doing it because Rap Music was popular and Pro Wrestlers wanted to cash in on it even though some of them don't like it.. Wrestling Bio feels they weren't genuine about having the music as their theme.. but I do feel that Kevin and Konnan really are rap fans..

I wasn’t watching wrestling at this point, when I was flipping channels and saw Scott Hall on WCW I was hooked.

Dude the nWo was absolutely fantastic, it’s been said many times, imo the best faction ever. If WCW didn’t mess this one up, WWF would definitely lose in the Monday Night Wars

Bullet Club???? shoot hart foundation, corporation, nation of domination, four horsemen and raven's flock/nest over Bullet Club. No impact from them whatsoever

WcW didn't mess up, WWF was that much better over time, give props to Mcmahon, Cornette, Austin, DX, Taker, Kane, Bearer, Russo, Sable, Dust, Mero, Luna, Foley for rising up and fighting back. nWo and wCw got desperate in the end and it failed, but WWF was better after 97.

Nwo would destroy every other faction. To big and powerful.

It was really great in the beginning, but WCW ran it into the ground real fast. I think there was a lot of hope for fast they would turn around, but nope...they ran it into dust.

Because WWF was better and gave better content, nWo sucked after a while, Horsemen sucked after a while, the Flock was an afterthought and the cruiserweights are curtain jerkers, while in WWF it was Raw and uncut.

Letting Scott Hall go was the biggest mistake Vince ever made, and he’s made SO many, especially during the mid 90’s. If he kept Scott he would have been bigger than Austin in my opinion. I also think it’s obvious that if he wasn’t hurt that Razor Ramon was going to win the 95 KOTR instead of Lame as Hell May Bell

There is no universe where Scott could have been even close to Austin on Austin's worst days.....The garbage Scarface thing would have gotten old fast....WWF went public on the back of Austin being the biggest thing to happen to wrestling.

Never watched WCW, only watched WWF from 2000 - 2004, however this video is an excellent production and great to stick in the corner whilst working from home.
