All Metal 44 Inches Sprayer Wand,Suitable for 1/2" & 3/8" Hose Quick Connectors, 1/4" & 3/8" Brass Barb Sprayer Wand Replacement Built-in Shut Valve Stainless Steel Spray Wand, w/Hose Connector
The plastic valve on the $15 harbor freight 2 gallon weed sprayer failed in the "ON" position. I used this sprayer wand replacement kit to replace it. [Yes, this wand costs more than a replacement sprayer from HF...but I was sent it to review for free, and the pump part of the sprayer still worked fine.]
This is a "serious" spray wand with adapters for hoses in the 1/2 down to 1/4" size. I used it to replace the cheap plastic wand on a 1/4" hose sprayer.
It can put out a large volume of spray quickly, but if you use the two 22inch extension tubes there is a lot of volume between the hand valve and the nozzle. This results in the sprayer continuing to spray for a half second after you turn it off (while the pressure in the tube behind the nozzle drops off) and then it drips as you walk around because there is still a lot of weedkiller in the tube.
It also has a metal "lock-on" ring that will allow you to lock the spray handle down. It will sometimes "auto-lock" if you turn the sprayer on while pointing the nozzle downwards so you must be ready to unlock it with your finger when you are done spraying.
Both of these (long tube, auto-lock) are fine features if you are going to be spraying large areas. However, I'm using this for spot applications to kill individual weeds on my patio and driveway, and excess spray and drips after turning off are not great for that.
I fixed the issue by removing both extension tubes, and using the nozzle tube directly attached to the wand handle. This makes the spray turn off almost immediately when the valve is released, and mostly eliminates drips after use, as there is much less volume in the tube between the nozzle and the handle valve. On the downside, I need to squat down to reach the weeds. On the upside, the nozzle/valve/handle store nicely on the short sprayer without touching the ground.
So overall I am happy with the build quality and materials of the spray wand. I think it is an excellent replacement for a backpack sprayer where you will be covering a large area (such as with killing off everything in a field, or applying broad-leaf to an entire lawn). It's not quite as good for very small sprayers that you want to use for spot applications unless you don't use the 44 inches of extension tube.

Thanks Jay for your good detailed review… they thought of & made provision several different connection types, however my ECHO MS-402 backpack sprayer has a simply hose screw-on type spray wand & I don’t want to cut the host lest i wind up a creek without a paddle… they could have easily provided a standard hose type connection… too bad cuz otherwise this seems like a pretty good nozzle

@@racebiketuner other than dribbling everything in the pipe after you shut off the valve it's worked very well for me.
