Man, I love talking about guest characters, especially the weird ones like recently Jason Voorhees in Multiversus, like who tf expected Jason in a family friendly platform fighter where you can beat the heck outta Shaggy from Scooby Doo, Superman, and Finn from Adventure Time, and what makes it better is that he's probably one of my new favorite characters to play in that game. Onimusha Blade Warriors is also a game I really hope to play one day as I just love platform fighters in general, (Why do you think I like Playstation All-Stars?) Mega Man characters are just the icing on the cake. (Especally because I like the Zero series version of Zero a lot more than the X series version) It's also funny you mention Onimusha in a video when I recently got copies of 1, 2 and... one of the two discs needed for Dawn of Dreams, yeah I'm just waiting for when I get the time to go back to the store I got it from to see if it even has disc two right now. Also I know it's doesn't count technically, but come on, Solid Snake vs Optimus Prime is art. (I'm talking about Dream Mix TV World Fighters, now that's another game I really want to play)
Onimusha Warriors was my shizz for a long time when it came out! I played it from the day it released until Onimusha 3 came out! I really appreciate that Gargant was a teaser for one of the bosses in the main game on 3! My mains were Exe, Zero, and Musashi!
Acknowledging Treasure and their games as some of the best ever made was one thing, but mentioning how Platinum is similar to them made me sub. I always thought of Platinum as a sort of successor to Treasure. Always making great unique games. You've got elite taste m8 🔥
I got one insane one. Fancy pants in the newgrounds 2d arena fighter Newgrounds Rumble (doesn’t count as a smash clone because you lose like a normal fighting game). He didn’t originate from Newgrounds, and he is also the one “family friendly” character in a game full of edgelord characters and franchises like Pico, Tankman, Salad Fingers, Madness Combat, and Alien Hominid.
Re: Toshinden URA, the word “裏, うら, ura” itself does actually mean “behind” or “back”. It’s often used in Japan the same way English-speakers use “B-sides” when talking about music. :)
Well, theres this cool little game on Steam called Ultra Fight Da! Kyanta 2, and in that, you can play as the real life ZackyWild as a guest character in the game, ZackyWild is a Japanese fighting game player that has a nack for wack-a-mole, I don't know if he counts, but i'd say he does!
I always thought it was cool when characters from movies get into fighting games as guest characters because movies are a visual medium and seeing get transported in an interactive medium such as video games was interesting to me. Also while not a fighting game example I also count Kingdom Hearts since that game series sees characters from various Disney movies in an interactive medium form.
As a DC fan, I have a love/hate relationship with the guests from Injustice 2. On one side they are really great picks and is amazing to see the TMNT in a official game with Batman and Superman On the other hand. Yeah I would easily trade them for a couple of DC characters I wanted to see
That's pretty fair! If it were up to me, I'd probably axe the MK characters (as cool as they are) for two more DC characters. At least TMNT and Hellboy are still comic book characters at the end of the day. I still appreciate that they took some swings with the DC characters they did add. Enchantress, Scarecrow and Black Manta are pretty great picks.
Speaking of guest characters funny enough i did a video a while ago talking about Spartan 458 in Dead or Alive 4 I've always found that fascinating and it did lead to some other stuff in DOA Dimensions and even the guest characters in DOA5 and 6
Imagine forgetting to pause as you go grab a snack. You are in the kitchen and your character getting beat up. You can't leave as you need to tend to the cooking food. Then yoy hear it, the Pepsiman theme song.
Well, I do know a very obscure indie fighter with a bunch of special costumes based on other indie fighters and two guest characters: Schwarzerblitz, featuring K-069, a character from the dev's old shmup, ENiGMA, and Sir Rattlebone from another indie fighter Duels of Fortune. And to return the favor, DoF also featured Mystery Johnson from Schwarzerblitz.
I know it's dumb and there's dozens of things to prove me wrong, but in head-canon, I like to think that Ehrgeiz characters are from Midgar. Yeah, there's the cop girl with a yo-yo, not very Shinra-ish. But the ninja guy's outfit loosely resembles a SOLDIER uniform (especially the helm.) Inoba is salaryman that works for Shinra (and does Sumo on the side), the dude with the rocket leg lives in one of the slums (judging by his ending.) Prinze Doza, the kickboxer, trains at the sector 6 gym. The last boss, Django clearly symbolizes Nanaki's race (his alt color is literally Seto.) His stage is a hi-tech laboratory and his 2nd form is a chimera... sounds pretty Hojo-ish. Other characters may have hailed from other parts of the FF7 world. Also, if anything, I'd like to think that the brawler game The Bouncer takes place in another modern FF setting. I know there's a cactuar cameo on one guy's jacket, and they're just designed by Nomura. What I CAN point-out is that the main character Sion was the original version of Sora from Kingdom Hearts. Same design, came out 2ish years before KH. So yeah, silly head-canon. Spare me the shoot-downs🙃
I live for deranged crossovers, even via guest characters. Also, IIRC, Akira and Selvaria in DBFC aren't as out-of-place as I had originally thought, though I imagine you'll dig up more details if you ever get around to either one or both. The short and dirty story is that, much like the rest of the roster, both Akira and Selvaria's respective IPs have been adapted into both manga and anime in the past.
The thing is that the fg genre got in a particular period when these ideas became much harder to be done and go well. First of all, every veteran franchise still carries a lot of old school fans, meaning a significant portion of overly critical, grumpy, not rarely jaded and bored players. Secondly, modern games are more expensive, and in some cases lack the content volume they had in the past (or they had without paid dlcs), because of growing development costs. It's hard to just drop a huge roster at launch. The practical result is harsher criticism about modern games lacking some veterans, either in the initial roster or the whole game roster. Also that note about being "grumpy" is important: I've been seeing a lower tolerance in the fgc about goofy stuff over certain levels... Like the reactions when Dan was announced in SF5, when Kuma and Panda were announced in T8, etc. In short the fgc bit by bit is losing the good sense of humor to appreciate what these games generally do. So the current fgc wont forgive a veteran franchise putting a ridiculous guest char replacing a veteran. I think the current fgc wouldn't even be able to handle jokes from not too long ago like in SFxTK.
Well said, and I more or less agree. I'd argue that SFxT might've been the beginning of people being more critical of guest characters, though; Even divorced from the BBA Mega Man inclusion, I remember Capcom getting flack for dedicating five roster spots to guest characters; three of which being platform exclusive at that.
A video of Zero and Megaman.EXE fighting in Onimusha Blade Warriors was one of the first RUclips videos I ever watched, if not THE first. I just recently picked up OBW too after finishing Genma Onimusha, but haven't played it much yet. A very strange game, but very nostalgic to me due to those two additions. I was a HUGE fan of obscure Mega Man stuff at the time (and I still am lol) I also REALLY need to play Rakugaki Showtime. I always knew of it but seeing it in action just makes me wanna play it even more lol
I really need to start Genma one of these days. Picked it up for cheap not too long ago and never got around to hooking up the 360 for it. Weird, since console exclusive re-releases with obscure exclusive content is usually up my alley. Rakugaki's great! Just... don't look at eBay prices. 😆
While not related to fighting games Final Fantasy has also crossover with Mario series in Mario Hoops 3 on 3 and Mario Sports Mix. Dragon Quest also crossover with Mario in Fortune Street on the Wii which is such an underrated gem on the Wii.
There was supposed to be another guest character for Sonic the Fighters, Pengo from an arcade game of the same name. PatmanQC has a pic of it, when talking about the history of that game
Gonna throw in one that would at the very least be "wild" from a historical context if not "weird" (as in, it must have been pretty weird/wild when it was a new thing): Ryu Hayabusa, the guy from Ninja Gaiden, being a character in Dead or Alive.
That Onimusha Smash clone actually look pretty good and it sucks that there aren’t too many good Smash Bros clones out there because Smash Bros is such a fun concept for a fighting game and it sucks that there aren’t other Smash clones out there that are actually because one of my dream fighting games is a SEGA Smash Bros because SEGA characters would fit so well in a crossover fighting game and I would to see a fighting game where Kiryu teams up with Alex Kidd to beat up Sonic.
10:11 - "If you look closely at the sickly green club Jim is using, you'll notice that it's not just any old weapon he's using to mimic Rungo's moveset. It's his buddy Snott from the first two Earthworm Jim games." Ohhh, this is one of those statements that is *only just* correct, the most "technically" of technically correct. Snott is a major player in Earthworm Jim 2, no question. He lives in Jim's backpack, and you can use him to swing between patches of snot from the ceiling, his addition is one of the main mechanical differences from the first game. And, he was apparently in promo art for Earthworm Jim 1, so was certainly intended to be important in that game too. Aaand, yes, he does appear in the first game. As a platform you can stand on. Once. At the end of the game. You don't do anything special to "summon" or control him. He isn't given any characterisation or animation. He doesn't appear at any point before the final fight, and disappears literally the moment you land the final hit, never to be seen again (until the sequel). He's just a platform. If you gave a random block from Super Mario Bros googly eyes and a name, it would be as much of a character as Snott is in the first game, and I guarantee you that the majority of players who made it that far gave it no more attention than they did anything else Jim stands on. I'd be amazed if 10% of people who played both games back in the day knew that Snott wasn't completely new for the second game; I certainly didn't.
This was one of those things I actually learned in the last few years; Growing up, I mainly knew him from EWJ2, but a friend a while back informed me of his minimal presence in the first game. I thought about going into that detail in that part of the video, but ended up cutting it for time. That said, I mentioned he was in the first two games in anticipation of someone going "Well _technically_ Snott was in the first game" lol
Since you brought up the Yakuza series I was wondering if Kiryu were to be in a SEGA All Stars Racing 3 I been wondering what his car would look like because I thinking they could do something similar to Ryo where instead of driving a cartoony looking car like the other SEGA character Kiryu would drive a more realistic looking car considering that the Yakuza series is mostly grounded in reality and not set in a fantasy world like most of SEGA’s other franchises.
@@TheSeventhForce A pocket circuit car would be cool but I think a more realistic car would be fitting because the character designs in the Yakuza series look more like authentic people so I think a realistic car would fit more with Kiryu’s character. I would also like to see a Kamurochō track in a SEGA All Stars Racing 3 but I’m worried that the track might affect the game’s age rating since Kamurochō is basically a fictionalize version of Japan’s red light district and since the SEGA All Stars games are aimed towards a more family friendly audience I’m worried this cause might cause some problems.
They could just give him something Taxi based to reference Yakuza 5. They managed to work in House of the Dead (though they had to rename it because HoTD as a series is banned in Germany), so I'm sure they're creative enough to think of a way to do a Kamurocho track for a hypothetical sequel.
@@TheSeventhForce A taxi could work and be a cool nod to Yakuza 5 but I still think he should have a traditional Japanese car since we already have another character who drives a taxi B.D. Joe. Kamurochō would be such a cool track (or stages if we’re talking about a SEGA crossover fighter) because Yakuza is probably one of my favorite game series of all time and I think it’s about time that the Yakuza series gets some representation in a SEGA All Stars games.
Speaking of SEGA’s arcade output I was wondering if SEGA were to every make a SEGA All Stars Racing 3 or a SEGA Crossover Fighter I would love to see the Space Harrier and the Roman Centurion (Altered Beast) as a playable racer or fighter. I feel like if Capcom were to ever take a crack at a platform fighter, it would be in a Nintendo vs. Capcom game that combines Smash Bros. and Pocket Fighter.
I believe there is some solid viability in these ideas of platform fighters: MegaMan all worlds; Capcom franchises; 3rd party franchise (anime, game, etc); Capcom vs a big 3rd party company; Capcom vs multiple 3rd party companies. They are in crescent order of ambition and scale... but even that last idea is fairly realistic. Exactly because high quality Smash rivals are scarce (also have been), and Capcom has a long history of competence in general games and in 2d fgs. And that Capcom game would have the advantage of being multiplatform. Capcom really could conquer this market if they wanted, but they stick to traditional fgs.

I would vote Steve is the weirdest smash brow character as a blocky pixelated 3d character is in smash is weird to me. Also maybe snake is another weird one for smash based on the amount of other characters are not that violent except maybe simon and richter but even then those characters can be made less violent whereas it is hard to determine how to make Snake seem less violent.
Basically, Treasure assumed that Enix got the publishing rights for the games they developed for them while Treasure kept the rights to the characters; A lawsuit came out of that that got the game pulled from shelves quickly (it's part of why the game is so expensive & rare) Considering Rakugaki got re-released on on PS3/PSP as a PS1 Classic in Japan published by Square-Enix, I think it's fair to assume Enix won the lawsuit. Considering Enix more or less folded not long after the game's release (necessitating their merger with Square), I doubt their working relationship with Treasure would've continued much longer anyway.

The Sega CD version of Earthworm Jim 1 is still one of my gaming white whales. Maybe if this channel blows up or something down the line, I can justify getting it to treat myself, lol
@@TheSeventhForce I wish Sega CD wasn't so price gated, it has so much cool stuff.
Personally, I really want a PAL PSone copy of EWJ 2. PlayStation 1 is my favorite console, so there's something about a character so deeply rooted in 16-bit and early 90s being on a 32-bit console that feels odd in a special way
As cool as MegaMan.Exe was to see in Onimusha, I hope we do eventually see him in a proper Vs. Series Title.
Hopefully!
The problem is that it's hard to compete with the legacy status of either MM or MMX (including important secondary chars like Roll and Zero). They are the natural best choices to represent the franchise in crossovers. Any other appearance is extremely rare, sadly, like MM Exe, MMZ, MML... when these are the only MM representatives in a game.
Mega man zero and mega man volnutt (legends) DID get into the vs series, mmzero was in snk vs capcom and volnutt was in tatsunoko vs capcom. Only starforce, zx and exe havent got in@carlosaugusto9821
@@carlosaugusto9821 Unfortunate, but understandable. Though the BN Legacy Collections supposedly sold decently well, so who knows for sure?
@@carlosaugusto9821Tron bonne, servbots, zero from MMZ and even megaman Volnut already appeared in VS games, so.. they kind of appeared already, they arent that unthinkable to be include someday
Fun fact zero is voiced by spider-man and Batman voice actor Rino Romano
Karnov and Atomic Runner Chelnov appears in Fighter's History series.
My holiday-themed fighting game concept does have Weird Al Yankovic as a character to represent Weasel Stomping Day.
I didn't know where the name Seventh Force came from, but I knew that your profile pic is Neku from Neo TWEWY
That just means you have impeccable taste
A video idea I think would be cool that i havent seen is unique announcer call outs. Like we all know "round one, FIGHT" but i want to see more stuff like "cant escape from crossing fates" or "Lets rock!" type ones.
Ive looked for a compilation in the past even and no luck
That's a good idea!
Gotta say, love the shout out to Thor. This was a super fun video and definitely worth the watch.
DreamMix is bonkers enough that it's getting it's own video at some point, haha.
16:00 That scroll across the character select felt ominous lol
that chocobo dance is.... something
This was a really sick video, love guest characters especially in some of the more underrated figting games
Onimusha Warriors was my shizz for a long time when it came out! I played it from the day it released until Onimusha 3 came out! I really appreciate that Gargant was a teaser for one of the bosses in the main game on 3! My mains were Exe, Zero, and Musashi!
I'm bad at it, but I've always enjoyed it lol
19:11 renewable energy good idea
17:55 I hope one day you cover Neo Geo Battle Coliseum. Favorite fighting game bar none
Also great FOTNS mention
Acknowledging Treasure and their games as some of the best ever made was one thing, but mentioning how Platinum is similar to them made me sub. I always thought of Platinum as a sort of successor to Treasure. Always making great unique games. You've got elite taste m8 🔥
Lmao a video about crossovers just before terry & mai were announced for sf6 s2
Yeah, that's a pretty hilarious coincidence. At least they fit in SF!
Thanks for taking Tobal in consideration.
I definitely need a third episode !!!!
Always love when we have time to BLESS THE RING, despite that part not being about Ehrgeiz
I always get so surprised and happy when I see Guardian Heroes mentioned, one of my favourites
Such a great game. Shame it's stuck on Saturn and Xbox consoles.
As a DC fan, I have a love/hate relationship with the guests from Injustice 2.
On one side they are really great picks and is amazing to see the TMNT in a official game with Batman and Superman
On the other hand.
Wow, great vid. A lot of these kind of videos feel like re-runs, but you added quite a bit of uncovered content to this.
Not wanting to talk about most of the usual suspects was definitely the goal here!
Bro when you said throw I KNEW who it was gonna be that's awesome.
Speaking of guest characters funny enough i did a video a while ago talking about Spartan 458 in Dead or Alive 4
I've always found that fascinating and it did lead to some other stuff in DOA Dimensions and even the guest characters in DOA5 and 6
I actually learned tons of new info from this! Excellent video!
Thank you! Just wanted to shine a light on the more obscure stuff.
This is agreat video, never heard of Onimusha Bkade Warriors until now
Imagine forgetting to pause as you go grab a snack. You are in the kitchen and your character getting beat up. You can't leave as you need to tend to the cooking food. Then yoy hear it, the Pepsiman theme song.
Thank you algorithm for suggesting this one
I'm surprised there wasn't a secret guest in the video. Seemed kind of apt, given the subject matter.
Here I thought I heard everything.
Whoa, Toshinden had a PC port?! That's different.
This was a lot of fun. Great video!
If you waited a few days, you could've said Terry in Smash AND Street Fighter.
Alien Soldier mentioned, Absolutely based. Gotta love Seven Force in that game (it only has 5 phases). Great video overall!
the thorhighheels shout out was crazy and amazing
A video of Zero and Megaman.EXE fighting in Onimusha Blade Warriors was one of the first RUclips videos I ever watched, if not THE first. I just recently picked up OBW too after finishing Genma Onimusha, but haven't played it much yet. A very strange game, but very nostalgic to me due to those two additions. I was a HUGE fan of obscure Mega Man stuff at the time (and I still am lol)
I also REALLY need to play Rakugaki Showtime.
My understanding with Pengo is that he wasn't meant to be a playable fighter, but a cameo in a stage background (more than likely for Bark's stage)
Gonna throw in one that would at the very least be "wild" from a historical context if not "weird" (as in, it must have been pretty weird/wild when it was a new thing): Ryu Hayabusa, the guy from Ninja Gaiden, being a character in Dead or Alive.
Awesome video. Perhaps a video about the best/craziest fighting game victory poses/game over screens could be cool if you're interested.
That Onimusha Smash clone actually look pretty good and it sucks that there aren’t too many good Smash Bros clones out there because Smash Bros is such a fun concept for a fighting game and it sucks that there aren’t other Smash clones out there that are actually because one of my dream fighting games is a SEGA Smash Bros because SEGA characters would fit so well in a crossover fighting game and I would to see a fighting game where Kiryu teams up with Alex Kidd to beat up Sonic.
oh, and takara released playmates' '80s tmnt toys in japan while playmates released takara's ronin warriors toys in west!
10:11 - "If you look closely at the sickly green club Jim is using, you'll notice that it's not just any old weapon he's using to mimic Rungo's moveset. It's his buddy Snott from the first two Earthworm Jim games."
Ohhh, this is one of those statements that is *only just* correct, the most "technically" of technically correct.
@@TheSeventhForce I'm glad you brought it up, I never would've know otherwise! :D
I'm going to get tobal 2 just to play as Toribot. It will be a huge disservice to toriyama if toribot isn't included in sparking zero
I now finally know where the seventhforce name came from. Cool
New seventhforce lore just dropped
I swear the entire Yakuza series just feels like a giant homage to games SEGA made when they where back making consoles.
Something realistic would work, though I think sticking him in something based on one of the Pocket Circuit cars would be kinda funny.
Earthworm Jim, Spawn and Kratos are the cool kids in the popular table. Both have appeared in two different franchises haha Terry could be in that too
"High School Juveniles"
Jotaro. Just say Jotaro.
Speaking of SEGA’s arcade output I was wondering if SEGA were to every make a SEGA All Stars Racing 3 or a SEGA Crossover Fighter I would love to see the Space Harrier and the Roman Centurion (Altered Beast) as a playable racer or fighter.
I would also add Bahn from Fighting Vipers in SEGA All Stars game.
oh man I forgot about the chocobo in tobal 2! definitely one I need to import, I think. also shout-out to PEPSIMAN in fighting vipers! I imported a saturn last year with a handful of games, one of them JP fighting vipers. I had heard he was unlockable, so that was the first thing I did when I set up my saturn! freakin' hilarious. (I didn't know you could use the pepsiman fight to skip the end fight, though!)
Yeah, Saturn goes from good to outstanding once you factor in that import library. Have fun!
for anyone who thinks they're having a Mandela Effect moment with Honey, depending on the region and whether you're playing Fighting Vipers 1 or 2 she was also known as Candy
I should've mentioned that in the video 😂
There was a cancelled Tiny Toons themed sequel to Rakugaki Showtime called Tiny Toons: Defenders Of The Universe. It was supposed to release in 2001-2002 on the PS2 and GameCube alongside their actually released GBA Tiny Toons game.
Yep. Even had the same director as Rakugaki. Pretty sure there's a leaked build of the game out on the Internet, too
@@TheSeventhForce That build is actually the complete game.
@@Nathan-rb3qp I heard it was only a near final prototype as there are some visual aspects that aren't fixed yet, like one of the dialog boxes going off the box itself, the character selection screen not matching with the character positions, causing characters in the back to float, and Space Montana Max not possible to unlock.
Last comment because I made 3 others already, but I think a great video idea would be "Unpopular fighting games I like" since I know there's a lot of things I play that my friends don't, and I think it would be cool
"Pepsiman Reset" sounds like a new fighting game term
I think my favorite guest character is Rash from Killer Instinct.
The JINGI STORM rages on
Soul calibur 3 had secret guest characters in the customizer like kos mos and some namco classic characters
Marvel super heroes has anita from darkstalkers in the code and she wasnt even playable in ds
Street fighter alpha 3 max on the psp had ingrid from capcom fighting evolution
Kof xiv had some characters from pachinko machines
Last one is just a theory but fans think that takuma from art of fighting is the main character from street smart, an earlier snk game
I know this isn’t necessarily a guest character but are you aware of the time when Tekken Tag 2 had a crossover stage with Snoop Dog?
It honestly might be the strangest crossover in the Tekken series which is really saying a lot considering that the Tekken Series has had more strange crossovers with Gon and the Walking Dead.
This Ones a Wrestling Game Not a Fighting Game but Afro Thunder from Ready To Rumble Boxing In 2008's TNA Impact The Video Game which caught me off guard at first but the game was published by Midway Games So I'm not surprise heck we got the T-800 from Terminator In WWE 2K16 a decade ago crazy
I didn't know that! I'll have to look that up.
Similarly, Fred Durst of Limp Bizkit got into multiple WWE games, plus the Fight Club game, as contractually obligated for including his music.
Matt McMuscles made a good video on that in particular.
Honey is so wild cuz she even like became canon to sonic. Like some scrubbed data ended up becoming a character in sonic comics and stuff.
Yeah, they've been really good about embracing that kind of stuff lately
Blade Warriors also had Musashi and Kojiro from... Folklore/history i guess
16:15 injured in some hilarious way…? Distasteful. A man in the line of duty being harm, **eerrgggGgh sOoO fUnNiI** dude how would that feel if that was your own dad or something?
Cursed chocobo dance in Tobal 2 😂
I can't *believe* you didn't bring up the Battle Arena Toshinden port on the Tiger R-zone!
jokes aside, I did have the R-Zone XPG and remember playing toshinden on that and uh...it's so terrible
Pepsiman reminds me of s Kinnikuman character Blackhole.
Noctis from FF15 being a guest character in Tekken 7 will always be the best guest character in a fighting for me personally due to hin being the only reason i even gave Tekken the light of day. Had Noctis not came to 7 idk if I would have become a huge fan of the series now. Hoping to see Tifa from FF7 come to Tekken 8 as DLC
Okay, 1) That's fantastic and 2) experiences like yours is exactly what developers are aiming for when implementing guest characters.
oh and 3) hell yeah, Tifa would be great
Here is a tip for next video: "Xenophage: Alien Bloodsport" a weird edgy PC fighting game with pre-rendered characters somehow has BARNEY THE DINOSSAUR as a guest character
Oh damn, I've gotta look into this lol
That's not Barney, it's Blarney. It looks like Barney, but due to international copyright laws, it's not!
Tobal 2's lizard dance was a meme
Since you mentioned you love Mischief Makers, have you ever checked out the Smash 64 hack Smash Remix?
Ironically one of the weirdest guest characters is actually from a Street Fighter game, that being Street Fighter Online Mouse Generations' Barack Obama (yes the actual former president Obama)
18:13 ....you didn't wanna talk about Isuka, did you?
here we go!
Zero was also in SvC
9:25 We could've had a Sonic Grand Prix in CTR Nitro Fueled!?! What a waste!!
I would vote Steve is the weirdest smash brow character as a blocky pixelated 3d character is in smash is weird to me. Also maybe snake is another weird one for smash based on the amount of other characters are not that violent except maybe simon and richter but even then those characters can be made less violent whereas it is hard to determine how to make Snake seem less violent.
for some reason i always thought that Rakugaki Showtime and Ragukakids were from the same franchise. Even more when the later was made by Konami
I make that same mistake a lot too lol
There's a rumor that Enix stopped working with Treasure after Rakugaki Showtime over a lawsuit about the ownership of Marina or something like that
Basically, Treasure assumed that Enix got the publishing rights for the games they developed for them while Treasure kept the rights to the characters; A lawsuit came out of that that got the game pulled from shelves quickly (it's part of why the game is so expensive & rare)
Considering Rakugaki got re-released on on PS3/PSP as a PS1 Classic in Japan published by Square-Enix, I think it's fair to assume Enix won the lawsuit. Considering Enix more or less folded not long after the game's release (necessitating their merger with Square), I doubt their working relationship with Treasure would've continued much longer anyway.
Late to GOAT upload but I arrive
