    • @MaffeyZilog
      @MaffeyZilog Год назад +4

      You need to learn what the word "underrated" means.
      There's literally NOTHING underrated about Phil Collins as a songwriter.
      He's one of the most respected songwriters in modern history.
      You don't get Disney begging you to write entire albums for every movie they make by being underrated.
      Let's see, Eric Clapton, Jeff Beck, Jeff Lynne, George Harrison, Dave Gilmour, Bob Dylan, there are a few I can think of who have openly talked about how talented Phil is as a musician and a songwriter (some on that list have had Phil play with them live).
      So, what do you think the word "underrated" means?

    • @MaffeyZilog
      @MaffeyZilog Год назад +3

      @@scifimonkey3 It's not pedantic!
      Perhaps you should look up the word as it pertains to minor details.
      What you said was plain wrong, not a detail out of place.
      I noticed you tried an insult to my question as a way of deflecting without even attempting to answer.
      Shall I take it you have absolutely nothing to back up your claim that Phil Collins was underrated?
      It seems like an easy thing to defend given it was your description of him. But I guess why stand by your own comment when you can just insult people who ask for clarification?

After a couple years, he really likes it. Really good neighbors and he buzzes around the trailer court on a golf cart hanging out with people in the summer. OMG I luv u guys, Brads eyes and brain wanting so much to catch what he thinks is the deeper meaning, and yet Lex, so much letting go in a dancey, hippy, bodily freedom kind of way, so easily wanting to catch the emotion.. all good Brad n Lex

    I can just see the next person going through a break-up: "That's it I'm done! Put on some Phil Collins and grab me some damn carrots from the backyard, I am not. in. the. mood!" 🤣🤣 Please don't ever lose that imagination Lex, you're one of a kind! Great reaction, both of you!

    This song was written by Phil Collins over the frustration of his divorce with his ex wife...this song featured in Miami Vice has made millions...but the lyrics are such that anyone can relate to in any situation in their life...most iconic song ever

    Brad laughed but Lex is 100% right - If you tell yourself you don't care anymore enough times, eventually it will be true. This song has without doubt helped thousands, maybe millions of people through painful breakups.

    To a certain extent, people need to ground themselves in reality and not care that much about what others may say or do. Have a personality with some strong borders. Be independent. That's maturity as an individual.

    Sounds like an awesome song for the end of a toxic relationship. It's a great one for flat-out telling the ex that it's OVER, that if they left anything at your place, buy a new one, cause it's already been collected with the rest of the trash.
    He was singing this about his wife, who he was either divorcing, or had just divorced.

    I am listening to him sing about how much he doesn't care, but seeing that he took the all the time to write, perform and produce this song and then drove it up the charts, a part of me really feels he still cares. He is bothered, angry and mad.

      See, that's what she was telling her friends, that's exactly what he meant, all the talkin' he was done with, all the slander he's taken, he's done with it, it's over. It's not that he cares, it's that he wants her to know just how much he really knows and he's done with the whole situation. Just so happens millions of people feel the same way and the song hits with them. He didn't have the capacity to "push" this up the charts. People like me bought the album and we don't care anymore...
