Still waiting for a Bluetooth n portable Webcam for my laptop, something like how I can plug my USB into my laptop and my mouse works.
Anyway, this ad brought that dream back to my attention.

Also this camera is pretty steep at $250. This is a seemingly high quality product with a good future, but jeez...

Bit of a niche product at that pricepoint I think. Creators might opt for a second hand dslr or something even more basic for that $250 to get similar/better quality as you rightly point out. Everyone else needing a camera for being on zoom/teams will probably settle for whatever is built into their work laptop or get a cheap logitech webcam.
I think the target market here ks people that like thr aesthetics and look of their setups. Probably the kind of person to have a nice desk set up, mx master 3s mouse, a nice watch, etc.

I agree on the target market. This makes sense seeing the creators that support the C1.

Great video, beautifully shot. Curious, have you done a video about your set up? I love the studio lighting. Looks so good.

Thank you! I have actually. I’ve made a handful of setup videos over the years but the one in this video was shot in my garage studio: ruclips.net/video/LKZxBgprYBo/видео.htmlsi=9-VeAomP3FMKhDZv

@@MichaelSoledad curious what kelvin color lighting do you use? I’m about the same skin tone. I was thinking better colors would be more towards the warmer tone because I’m darker.

It's interesting that the camera still exhibits overheating issues so long after its initial launch. Opal appears to have a hard time keeping up with software and stability improvements on a steady clip.

2:33 sure the larger sensor and better lens helps but the real background blur effect with the Opal is still software based like the many other webcams and yes, that is being processed by your computer. Not the webcam.
But yeah, besides that, that webcam looks incredible.
A big downside is that the Composer software is not available for Windows, even a year after the release. This kills this camera for every streamer. Bummer.

Looks like an awesome camera! Surprise at the field of view though.. it’s not super wide 😭 how does the camera fair in low light?

Why do they love it? Because they are being paid to love it or are investors.

    • @MichaelSoledad
      @MichaelSoledad  Год назад

But it totally makes sense to invest in something that you truly believe in or love, right? Regardless, the difference in quality is obvious.

@@MichaelSoledadmaybe. I'm prohibited from investing in companies that I have influence or business relationships with. I think there's been plenty of RUclipsrs caught peddling scams and ponzi schemes lately that should make us question where our trust is placed.

      Definitely valid point of view.

PSA: What a horrible camera. I bought this camera a couple weeks ago, such a nightmare to setup and always out of focus. Software doesn't work properly, and support (or the lack there of because their customer service is just as bad) made excuses for where to plug it in. I returned it, I got so tired of it. What a waste of time and money. If you see RUclipsrs or IGers talking well about this camera, saying MKBHD invested in it to use it as a plus, they're probably cross-advertising, don't fall for it.

Without Windows support this thing is still useless. Such a huge mistake to not give Windows support this long after launch.
