Great Video, but your energy and your painted nails come across as so NOT genuine, and I JUST CAN NOT Believe or listen to this guys voice! Seems like a queer baiter? WILL DEFINITELY not buy this sizzle crap! 💩 🤮 YUK!
The best part of this video is the very beginning where you showcase that a 720p camera, in a streaming setting, can look just as good as 4K. People need to learn that more pixels do not necessarily equate better image quality.
If you have an iPhone and a Mac, the OS uses the camera automatically without any software. OBS recognizes the iPhone's continuity camera and it looks amazing. An added benefit is that the camera feed will ALWAYS be level, no matter how you position the phone.
Hey, as a serious hobby photographer, I will point out one minor incorrect information. The bigger sensor of mirrorless does not necessarily give better colors. But they operate better under low light. So if you operate in a dark room, then yes, it will be a significant improvement if you full-screen the web cam. But if you have a well lit room, or only have a cropped image, it will not make a noticeable difference. The quality of the color (if you have enough light) depends more on software than the sensor, as the sensor (even for professionally grade cameras) produce a boring flat image, and you need to add contrast in software for the image to look good. But another property of bigger sensor cameras is that you can get a more blurred background, making the image less cluttered, as you stand out from the background. An effect often desired in portraits that modern smartphones tries to simulate it in software, particularly if you choose portrait mode. The bigger the aperture in the lens (lower f-number, longer focal length), the more blurry the background gets, making you stand out more in the image (but also requires focus to be more precise for you to be in focus)
Helpful, simple and honest. Love it how you mention the phone cameras, which many people will have right there, ready to use without costing any additional money apart from a stand for it.
I stream multiple angles, but I don't clutter up my scene with said angles. I recommend the Source Switcher plug-in. Kind of the same idea as Scene Switcher, but you don't need a ton of scenes in your OBS. You can also program it to choose sources at random. Makes it feel like an editor is switching angles in real time.
Bless you for making these tutorials! I've used OBS for almost 4 years now and still learned some amazing things from your videos which I didn't knew before. 💜
Great video!.... I have few questions. 1. How long does the battery last on the Sony? 2. What about the temperatures after being on for so long? 3. Do they protect themselves and turn off themselves? 4. How to ensure that the video settings in OBS are preserved and do not have to be touched every time the program is opened again?
So glad you mentioned exposure! That hack made my C920 nearly indistinguishable from a Brio 4K. I will add that for more brightness after turning down the exposure, I make my lights brighter rather than turning on brightness in the settings.
I switched to a Sony ZE-10 as a webcam 1 year ago, and the quality, control and reliability are way better than any usual webcams. I use it with the sigma 16mm f1,4 and its autofocus, bokeh and low light performance is really awesome!
The drop I've been waiting for!!! Started streaming earlier this week, been using your spotify playlist for Twitch!! Thanks a lot Senpai, you are the bestttttttttttt
I've seen your videos a couple years ago when i first had the idea to stream. every year or so, i catch myself looking for your channel for tips to start streaming again but you keep changing your name lol glad i found you again
Helpful webcam intro (and reminder for those who watch your stuff regularly!) thanks. For the microphones: I'm struggling to find a shotgun or super-cardioid that I can use as a set-and-forget out-of-shot streaming mic. Those I've tried (AT875R, NGT4+, NT5, E614) sound boxy even just 2 feet away and are really very little better than just putting my current PodMic up there and turning up the gain. FYI: My room is small, but is pretty well sound treated with sound clouds and whatnot. Also, they all - even the shotgun ones - pick up my quiet keyboard and mouse clicks even though they are pointed at my head. Am I trying for something that is just not possible? Does it require a lot of money? To be clear, I'm very happy with the sound of getting close up and cuddly with my PodMic, but would love to not have to be constantly trying to stay 'on mic' when I'm using multiple monitors, etc. I realise I'm probably late on feeding into your next vid, so I'll hope you cover some of this anyway! :) Thanks
First time seeing you.. Thought I knew alot about OBS and Webcams.. Already i've learned 2 new ways to adjust the webcam image.. I'll be checking out your other vids.. Thanks
Next ep Mic set up and settings in OBS? Would be interesting to see USB mics, especially budget ones tuned and how to tune them. i.e. what options would you touch/ leave alone.
Great video! I didn't learn a lot as you've taught me well in previous videos but it was incredibly informative and will be a great resource for people wanting to upgrade or start out w' streaming! Also, gotta shoutout GoPro cameras as cheap options. I still use my refurbished Hero 3+ for most things (don't stream much atm but use it weekly for gaming stuff with the family) and the image quality is still really good. You are limited on the options in OBS for adjusting the image (no gain adjustment etc) but it still looks fantastic. Mine cost me, like, £70 refurb'd? Also rocking an Amazon special £10-£15 HDMI capture card. My setup is at least 2-3 years old, hasn't failed me yet. Recommend trying it! Lookin' forward to your mic vid! Again, 'cos of your recommendations previously, I am still using my Elgato Wave 1. LOVE this thing. Will never go back to headset mics ever again. Also looks amazing on work Teams calls (I use my home setup for my WFH job, pretty slick) so ye, bonus props for that! ! ! Hope you and the family are well my dude. Take it easy, ciao!
I have a question about streaming consoles. Is there any capture device/method that lets you stream the console via obs/discord but also still allows you to use the console alone without turning on the PC? I wanna be able to play without wasting the extra electricity when im not streaming or with friends I use a generic capture card from amazon that functionally works the same as an Elgato HD60, with the HDMI in and output, and the USB between it and the PC, but if I wanted to play the PS5 without being on my PC I had to unplug the capture card and move wires around to play but i'm looking around to see if I can avoid doing that so much. I wanted to try enabling my motherboard to keep USB power on while still being powered off but my motherboard doesnt have that feature apparently...
Thanks for the vid. I always appreciate your breakdowns and tips. For your next segment can you please go into new GOXLR update and how to use the sub mix options for streamers. Thanks!
Fantastic video. Quick question, what is the minimum requirement when it comes to the computer/graphics card when using so many different streaming sources :)?
So you go straight from your camera into your computer when you stream, but what about making youtube videos? Do you record to your camera sd card then move it to your computer after? or do you record directly to your computer somehow?!
Recently I got an Elgato Facecam. I've been experimenting with lighting and tailoring some LUTs for it. I'm curious if OBS filters can come close to what a LUT can produce.
Maybe this will be covered under mics but it’s prob I’m a newbie but I got that nice 5 sec delay echo starting and could not figure it out for the life of me. Granted that was with a rodecaster duo and as a beginner streamer for just gaming I really didn’t need all the extras it had plus I have smart lighting so a stream deck plus with a simple audio interface took its place. My mic can be XLR or usb but it always sounds real quiet and I’m guessing the interface doesn’t have the power like the Duo did. But please if you can go over the mix output for each app (total output, mic, discord, game volume, music, etc. ) And then eventually how to record/ make clips for your own shorts separate voice from it. Thanks! Loving the series idea
My question for the OBS Masterclass is how to use the Advanced Sound Settings and how to balance your sounds...example: how to make sure that the game's sound doesn't overpower your voice mic without having to manually monitor your audio at all times.
I was always under the impression that if you change the settings in the "Configure Video" menu of your OBS Source (i.e. Webcam 2), as soon as you shut down OBS and open it back up the settings will be reverted to default.
If you use a dslr with the hdmi, so they are not classed as a camcorder, the camera has a 30 minute timer on the video output. So you have to reset the camera every thirty minutes. Any tips on getting around this?
I think my biggest struggle is getiting the right amount of lighting that isn't blinding and then working on settings based off that. I like feeling in dark area but still let colors pop without it seeming too much saturation
Using a desk mounted monpod for your cameras on a standing desk, have you ever run into a shaking problem. If it was an issue, what did you do to alleviate it?
been waiting for theh ep2. can you also make an episode about optimize setting. i play 300-400 fps in valorant but when I do streaming my fps drop drastic to 110-190 fps.
Yo, Harris, where you at? I thought you said you were going to be on Twitch more this year? Did you go to Japan yet? If so, I hope you are making lots of great content! Would love to see some vlog type stuff, or even a live stream, while you're in Tokyo.
Just a side note. I have a Sony A6000 camera with a uGreen capture card. You don' need to spend $100 on a capture card, some of the cheaper $15 cards would work fine. Also not everyone has an iPhone. what is the android equivalent app for the phone set up?
Very useful, but what are the best positions and angles for the camera and lights? I got a d750 with a wide lens (the whole package was a free gift) the mf is super heavy and I was wondering if there are good desk arms that could hold it
I got the Epoccam app working with the Elgato software no problem, but I can’t get it to play as a source in OBS. I tried adding it as both a video capture device and a capture card device and no go. Do I need to be using the paid version of the app for this to work maybe?
Hey Harris. I have one more question in this subject. Could You show how to set up camera on it's software? I have Sony 6700, picture looks very bad and it is lagging like 10fps. I just can't fix it :/
I'm curious why everyone makes it seem like a capture card is required in order to stream while using our IPHONE as a webcam within OBS? I've never bothered with using a capture card before and I don't have any problems streaming 1920x1080p while my IPHONE 11 Pro Max or even my Samsung Galaxy S23+ is being used as a webcam within OBS through software both on the phones and on my PC called (CAMO). I don't have issues with lag and the quality of my streams are fantastic. I'm not against purchasing a capture card but I've never used one before and I don't understand what the benefits would be to having one versus not having one? Could someone explain?
Are you using two webcams on the same PC? I've found that using two webcams on a USB Hub doesn't work. In addition, plugging multiple camers into the back of my PC doesn't work. I ended up having one cam on my USB hub, and the other to the Front USB port of my PC. I was wondering if there was a fix to this?
Still yet to finish the video! Very good advice in here. An issue I have is the logitech C920 which I use as a secondary cam always resets any settings I change in the video properties. Is there a way to set and forget these?
Can you do one on how to set up a stream if a game goes into full game screen mode, I wanna stream other games but it’s one of the problems I keep having.
I have the problem that I have to unplug the Cam Link and plug it back in every time I switch on the camera and want to stream. Otherwise the camera is not recognized by OBS. Is there any quality of life feature?
i just got the facecam pro when I connect it to OBS I have two options. 1. Elgato webcam 2. Elgato Facecam pro. When I select facecam pro I just get a black screen. When I select Elgato webcam it works. Am I doing something wrong?

Loving this series already man. Started streaming a few months back and there is still so much to learn!!

DUDE. I looked a few hours ago to see if a part 2 was up and I was bummed 😂. So happy!
Great vid. Covering cam/mic latency added by plugins (e.g. AI noise removal) would be a good topic to cover in a future video.
Bless you for making these tutorials! I've used OBS for almost 4 years now and still learned some amazing things from your videos which I didn't knew before. 💜
Ive been looking for a series like this for months. Im so glad you came through like this. It's great.

Great stuff. I will have to find more of these. Keep up the good work.

ZE-10? Or ZV-E10? Can't find the ZE-10. I do read the ZV-E10 to has quite some shortcomings. But It also depends on how (and for what) you us it.
asks to distinguish 4k, uploads in 1080p
Image will still be sharper even tho he rendered it in 1080p
@@GreedyOffline no
It's better than 1080 😂
@@okmedialive it's not
Isn’t that the point? Streams don’t support 4K. Both are compressed into 1080…? Or so I thought
The drop I've been waiting for!!!
Started streaming earlier this week, been using your spotify playlist for Twitch!!
Thanks a lot Senpai, you are the bestttttttttttt
Love this series. Super helpful
love this stuff...starting to stream is pretty daunting, so i really appreciate all the work you do for newbs like me. Thanks!
thank you harris another great video and Im loving this masterclass series cant wait to see the mic video
I've seen your videos a couple years ago when i first had the idea to stream. every year or so, i catch myself looking for your channel for tips to start streaming again but you keep changing your name lol glad i found you again
The best thing you can do to make your webcam shine is have proper lighting
Helpful webcam intro (and reminder for those who watch your stuff regularly!) thanks.

Next ep Mic set up and settings in OBS?
Would be interesting to see USB mics, especially budget ones tuned and how to tune them. i.e. what options would you touch/ leave alone.

Nice work, just getting started and the vids will help me choose the right equipment and techniques. I’m in your debt good sir! Thank you.
what's your opinion on the Logitech web cams?
Which elgato is good for great quality image, is it elgato Facecam Pro or elgato Facecam Pro mark 2?
I'm using the iPhone and epoccam pro with the nvidia software on my RTX 4070. It does background blur and everything. Beautiful detail
Is it worth buying an old Iphone 11 rather than a Logitech MX Brio or Elgato Facecam MK2?
The background gave away the qualitty of choosing which camera is which.
Very insightful and helpful. This was very good 🙏
This is very helpful.. but I’m also invested in your Japan house hunt! How is that going? 😊

Great video as always mate. love the short and sweet 💘😊
i was looking forward to these master classes until it looks like it will be months of waiting for all of them before its complete

Wait what's the deal with the comparison at the start? The left side is clearly sharper, are there supposed to be some tricks?
Does your hdmi cable need to be 4k ?

Do you have a video on setting up your mic? You look like you’re sitting a good distance from it, yet you sound so good. TIA
Would these tricks work in PRISM Live Studio too??

What picture profile did you use for the zve10
best obs plugins?
Thank you for the content!
this series 😍
Thanks for making this awesome video! ❤
this is great. really helpfull

I have the problem that I have to unplug the Cam Link and plug it back in every time I switch on the camera and want to stream. Otherwise the camera is not recognized by OBS. Is there any quality of life feature?
Just keep up the good work! Congratulations and thank you Sr 👍
I have a Sony zve10 can I use that as my cam?
