I first tried Yakisoba in a Japanese restaurant in my hometown, when I was about 10, and I quickly fell in love with it. My mum ate it all the time when she lived in Japan, and I always thought it would be too complicated to make at home. A few months ago I found a recipe on the Internet and discovered that it's not only really simple, but cheap as well. You can make it with whatever you have on hand, even if it's just old veggies that are about to go bad, and the sauce uses things you can usually find in your pantry or in an Asian supermarket. I like to use carrots, mushrooms, sliced onions, cabbage and some sausage or bacon if I'm feeling indulgent (not very authentic, I know, but it tastes great).
I'm making some for the fam tdy and am looking through recipes to see if there are any interesting new combos thx for the suggestions. A year ago my family thought regular instant noodles were the only kind you could make at home and quickly but I've been cooking them a lot this year and now they love it. Quick, delicious, filling and an easy way to get rid of leftovers no one wants. It's now become that I have to purposely make so much extra than our needed portion just so we can have a late night snack cuz 1 bowl is just not enough, it's too good. I constantly experimenr and change up the recipes and pretty much never make the same thing twice so they never get bored of it, now I got them hooked on basic Yakisoba and am experimenting.

Yakisoba is probably top 4 favorite meals ever....I ate every day for lunch in Japan when I lived there. I recently made some, very traditional cabbage/carrot/spring onion....but with shrimp, scallop and lobster tail.

Ah somethign I did when I lived in Aomori (Sanwando sells frozen tonkatsu! I miss it!). Make basic yakisoba with cabbage, lots of onion, carrot, somewhat heavy on the salt, and less sweet on the sauce. Then top with tonkatsu. Sooo very tasty different textures.

I wanted to make yaki udon cause I was looking up what other ways to enjoy fresh udon. And there’s yaki udon like yaki soba. I basically combined 1 and 4, I didn’t have worcestshire sauce so I substitute with a1 bbq sauce, oyster sauce, dark soy sauce, soy sauce, ketchup, chicken bullion powder, a little bit sugar, and shrimp! It was absolutely delicious with pickled ginger (sushi one) we didn’t have the Japanese red one, but it was really delicious

Yakisoba in Brazil is completely different from Japan's. It's like a combination of sauce Yakisoba but the noodles are fried in a teppan until crispy and the sauce has a lot of vegetables and meats, but the base is still sesame seed oil, ginger and scallions

The first yakisoba I ever made was when I found yakisoba noodles in my landlord's fridge. I bought a packet of stew-sized beef chunks to pan fry, then I went to an Asian market and purchased one large carrot, one long cucumber, some lotus root slices, and some taro root. I made yakisoba sauce from scratch using ingredients my landlord was willing to share with me, and when I put all the ingredients together it tasted wonderful.
Where can I get the recipes with the measurements?

Being from rural kentucky, i am not very familiar with japanese food. I have seen soba noodles in 1 large grocer, and i was wondering are yakisoba noodles the same as soba noodles? I like japanese food and would look to try and cook some at home, it appears to be a fast,easy, delicious supper. Any reply would be appreciated.
