Nice job on the outside of the plenum...I just did a minor porting and polishing of the inside of both the upper and lower plenum sections. First after removing the lower, I started by reshaping the big fat intake tubes with a grinder. Then using a 3in course wire wheel, I worked on the mouths of those 6 tubes. I followed up with 200 grit sandpaper and wire wheel. Repeated on the upper plenum to also trying to remove the original sandcasting roughness. Used the wire wheel on the throttle area also. Clean everything and applied Graphene coating to the inside to reduce oil vapors from sticking to the interior plenum. Bottom line: A definite gain in power without adding a plenum spacer.
just stumbled across your 350z valve cover video earlier as ill be taking on the project this weekend and it answered all my questions and concerns. you deserve way more subs than you have but I just added one more for ya. thank you!
I did this during the quarantine last March. Took forever 😭 but I guess it was worth it. Sanding disk for the win. Finished with 1200 grit then used rogue compound with wool wheel. Then fitz aluminum polish.
The inside of the plenum was cleaned during a valve cover replacement and then a catch can was installed. This keeps blowing by gases from Re-contaminating the inside of the plenum. Thanks so much for watching!
Rice guy read my comment on plenum port/polishing...My lower plenum had minimal oil residue also...I believe using 100% synthetic oil and not always visiting Redline at every shift, reduces the need for a catch can. I don't need one.
@@stealthg35infiniti94 hmm sounds about right, perhaps some synthetic oils are not equal. lol as far as redlining that will definitely increase the blow by gases
You did a great job we'll done my friend. I just watched full and I just observed on how you did it you explained it clearly and amazing demonstration on how you just polish the plenum and install the 5/6 spacer on a 350z very tidy and orderly.More power to your channel and thanks for imparting your knowledge to everybody it will help a lot my friend. Keep safe and stay blessed.
Nice video! Would it be worth it install this plenum spacer on my 2005 350Z convertible with an automatic transmission? I drive conservatively, rarely exceed 4500 RPM, and the car already has over 120,000 miles on it. Thanks.
Only if your seeking to improve the airflow in your plenum, you my not notice any difference in performance! But your engine will love ❤️ you for it!!🏁👍
For the centre bolts being tightened, raising the plenum must raise the gap between the plenum and engine, thus when it is tightened back down, you risk breaking the plenum, as there is no support underneath it as there is the gap. Do they not supply spacers to negate this issue, as other manufacturers of this type of raiser do? Also as its raised the centre bolts risk air being sucked in as there is no direct contact between the plenum and engine anymore, would fitting o'rings on the bolts, prevent this issue? Thanks.
Love your channel and your content. Just recently purchased a 2004 350z which I am in the process of fixing up and adding mods. I just posted my first video if you want to check it out and recommend any mods please do. Your Z looks sharp I love it. Keep the videos coming.
Maybe just a slight increase in power, but when you add a e-tune or dyno-tune it should help increase your mid range torque and top end power! Thanks so much for watching!
Where is all the washer placement for the strut tower? Is it 2 on inside and 1 on the outside to use all 12 or was it 1 for each bolt/nut to make it 8?
I had to add so coolant to the reservoir after I drove the car around. But, I didn't lose enough coolant from the throttle body hoses to cause me to have to bleed the system! Thanks so much for watching!
underrated channel, you're good at filming the details and tight spaces and im amazed at the spotless engine bay
Thanks so for watching!!
Man. Excellent work. I ran an aircraft plant, you have such clean work areas and habits. I’m super impressed.
Thank you so much for watching!!!👍🏁💯
awesome video and a great idea. i did this to the wheels on my 83z and they looked brand new. now i want to do this to the plenum on my 350
Thanks so much for watching!🏁👍
Your the best and most thorough out there for the VQ35DE
Thanks so much for the support!!!!
Awesome and very informative, I’d like to take on this project one day. And when I do I’m pulling your video back up! Thanks man great work.
Thanks so much for watching!👍💯🏁

Was it hard? Any tips lol
Not to hard, just time consuming, but the more time you put into polishing the better it looks! Thanks so much for watching!💯👍
Love your enthusiasm. 👍

I am amazed on how clean the DE engine bay is along with inside the intake plenum. Nearly Spotless

Yes, the center bolts come with self sealing washers!
@@Zspeed hi, do they have the spacers though?
No, the Z1 motorsports plenum spacer didn't come with plastic spacers!
Good stuff man.
Thanks for watching 👀!

great video! easy and clear instructions
Thanks so much for watching!!!
My guy. I love your videos.
Thanks so much for watching!
Very clean engine bay bro...did you notice an increase in torque with the spacer? From a fellow vq35DE owner. Also you have a very relaxing voice
Maybe just a slight increase in power, but when you add a e-tune or dyno-tune it should help increase your mid range torque and top end power! Thanks so much for watching!
Cool video man👍🏽
Thank you so much for watching!!Tee-shirts and Hoodies coming soon!

Great video🙏 & beautiful car brotha

great info i must try this

Where is all the washer placement for the strut tower? Is it 2 on inside and 1 on the outside to use all 12 or was it 1 for each bolt/nut to make it 8?
I ended up using all of my washers to get my strut brace high enough to clear the plenum!! You my have to add some washers as well!!
I have an 04 350z. Will my strut bar still fit with a 5/16 plenum spacer
If you use enough washers under the strut bar!
RIIIIGHT ON!
Thanks for watching 👀 💯👍
Would trading a normal plenum for a chrome plenum plus 100 dollars be worth it?
Sounds like a pretty good deal, actually!
@@Zspeed thank you you’ve got yourself a subscriber!
🏁👍
You were able to install a spacer and keep the strut bar?
Yep, use lots of spacers!!!!
@@Zspeed I have a 05 g35 coupe , I don't have strut studs that long to be adding spacers
Do you have to burp the radiator after you put back the cooling radiator fluid hoses?
Yes, burp it for at least 10 to 15 minutes!
Do you get better gas mileage with plenum spacers?
Not anything noticeable, thanks so much for watching!
Did you notice any difference in midrange torque ?
Slight increase, but more noticeable after getting a e-tune!!!
@@Zspeed E-tune? Whats that?
I got a tune sent to my laptop from UpRev tuning, after doing some data logging. Not as good as a Dyno tune, but less expensive!
Did you have to bleed your coolant afterwards?
