350Z bolt torque settings:
Manual gearbox drain and filler plugs - 34 Nm
Engine oil drain plug - 35 Nm
Engine oil filter - 18 Nm
Spark plugs - 25 Nm
Differential drain and filler plugs - 34 Nm
350Z coolant bleeding process:
1.Remove air relief plug on heater hose.
2. Fill radiator and reservoir tank to specified level. Pour engine coolant through coolant filler neck slowly of less than 2 (2-1/8US qt,1-3/4 lmp qt) a minute to allow
air in system to escape.
3. When engine coolant overflows air relief hole on heater hose,
install air relief plug with new O-ring.
4. Warm up engine to normal operating temperature with radiator cap installed.
5. Run engine at 3,000 rpm for 10 seconds and return to idle speed. Repeat two or three times.
6. Stop engine and cool down to less than approximately 50°C (122°F). If necessary, refill radiator up to filler neck with engine coolant.
7. Refill reservoir tank to MAX level line with engine coolant.
8. Repeat steps 1 through 6 two or more times with radiator cap installed until engine coolant level no longer drops.
9. Check cooling system for leaks with engine running.
10. Warm up engine, and check for sound of engine coolant flow while running engine from idle up to 3,000 rpm with heater temperature controller set at several position between COOL and WARM. Sound may be noticeable at heater unit.
11. Repeat step 11 three times.
12. If sound is heard, bleed air from cooling system by repeating step 4 through 7 until engine coolant level no longer drops. - Авто/Мото
Concise video but straight to the essential. In just 11 minutes, you managed to show the process of a complete service overhaul. Your camera angles and position are really well done! This will surely help for the future maintenance work. Thank you again for the time spent on this video.
Thanks Rob.
Sorry to be offtopic but does any of you know a tool to get back into an instagram account..?
I stupidly lost my account password. I would appreciate any help you can offer me.
@Frank Markus instablaster ;)
@Charlie Alec thanks so much for your reply. I got to the site on google and I'm waiting for the hacking stuff now.
Seems to take a while so I will get back to you later with my results.
@Charlie Alec It worked and I actually got access to my account again. I am so happy:D
Thanks so much, you saved my account :D
all of the cuts/bruises/stripped threads/busted knuckles/cursing is strategically edited out :D.....if only I could get all that done this fast :D I know this is an old video, but it's still relevant because I just bought an 06 350Z and I'm excited to start tinkering with it!!
This is quickly becoming my favourite car related channel on RUclips!
Big thanks Tommy.
Same here, mate.
Great video. Makes everything look so easy. Thanks for taking the time to help us 350z owners.
Most tricky dip stick for sure!
Indeed. Why so bendy?
SiMONEN there is a good way , think about it.
I just change oil every 5.000 km instead. Less risky and costs like 80 euros and takes 30 min tops. Worth it
Checking the oil is like picking a lock in oblivion
SiMONEN , watch what you’re doing , once you get the knack it’s easy, look where the top points and put it back like that, done.
This is the type of owner i want to buy a car from lol
Hi Neil, i'm a 350z (04) owner from Italy, very interesting content mate, i just followed the same process but i have a question: after reinstalling the throttle body did u run the ECU reset procedure?
You helped me so much thanks
Do a series against Car Throttle where you both buy a car on a budget fix it and get it ready for a track day or race
Would be cool. I'll propose it.
BTW what camera do u use (10/10 quiality)
Glad you noticed! I use a Canon 5D Mk2 with a 24-105 L lens.
"Since you have easy access to the entire engine, it doesnt hurt to pull it out and dissasemble it for a kick check on the bearings..."
Yet again, an upload while I'm at work but thats not going to stop me from getting my daily Z content from a great channel. Love the fast updates on this car from this channel. Keep making more videos :D
Big thanks Tyler. Glad to hear you look forward to the vids.
Just a humble opinion... Don't use Bosch products... they are bad. Spark plugs? NGK or Denso thats the way. Also, just put on a K&N air filter on it, it's better in the long run and you don't make to much waste compared to the traditional celulose disposable air filters. I also have a 350z, Mine is an 2006 Base model painted in Le mans sunset metallic like yours, great video by the way, but it hurts me seeing so many Bosch replacementes in a beautiful car...
In the market for a 350Z this was a big help on maintenance. Thank you Sir.
me too buddy, wanted to check how difficult is to keep up the car and it looks good!
Great Videoo well done
Fantastic video Neil!
Will you beat Gary's time?
Nope 🤷♂️
Them's be fightin' words meester! You'll see!
Road and Race thought it would give you some additional motivation mate.... although I doubt you need motivating 😊
Wiping Gary's smug smile off is face is very motivating...!
@@RoadandRacetv 😁😁
@@simontaylor3211 Brutal! 😂
Very nice. I done all these with my cars too, plus I have learnt 2 more things I could do too , thanks for you.
Also im seriously considering to get one of these Z-s .
Another amazing vid. Good job man
Thanks Lovasz. Get one, you won't regret it!
Road and Race I would go today tbh.
Im puttin my Is200 in good shape again so she must stay for a bit longer. But these vids are here now. Im sure loads of people find it useful n entertaining . Will try to support you👍
Hey! What brand car ramps are those? I HATE! jacking up a low 350z, its just a pain. Amazing video btw, nothing else like it on RUclips (:
Don't use 5w-30 oil!!! It's bad oil for the Z. Use only 5w-50
no. The service manual says 5w30 because the engineers designed it to use that oil and engineers that designed the oil channels in the engine know more than you do.
@@bjornironsides6474 yes but service manual is bullshit, 5w30 was wrong for that engine!
I'm terrified of Jack stands too! Wouldn't trust myself not to position them incorrectly or something.
Luckily my Dad dug a pit in his garage years ago so I go there now!
Great vid BTW!👍
Cool. So nice to have a pit.
Road and Race yes. Only issue with it is it's a little shallow. Could only get down just shy of 6ft due to rock. But sitting on a barstool makes most jobs easy.
Thanks great video have my 2005 z for 12 months only has 57000 ks done 4000ks myself your video will make my job easier 👍
These videos are fantastic! I have a 350z which needs a lot of these jobs done and it looks a lot more simpler in your videos than people make it out to be
Nice video, well done. And I applaud you for not waffling on and on and on like other RUclipsrs , you just get it done! One observation though: You are draining oil while the car is standing on a slope, that is not the best way to drain all the old oil, plus when you use the gearbox and Diff filler hole to check the level, it will give you a false amount. It's probably not a big deal, but it would be better to have the car level. Keep up the good work :)
I have a 2006 automatic 350z. I'm trying too change the transmission fluid for the first time on my own
Wicked video 🙌🏻 nothing better then putting new oils an filters on a track car yourself..!!!
4k miles 🙃 I do mine every 1k miles but that's just because I'm paranoid
Great video Neil. Quality content as always, and production quality is always increasing. Nevermind the satisfaction of a job well done when you DIY! Cheers and keep up the great work 👍🏻
Big thanks mate.
Major mistake, using shit Bosch spark plugs, horrible choice NGK or nothing on a Nissan, you will regret it.
Does the car feel smoother now that everything has been changed? Some of those fluids looked quite bad lol. Like watching the videos u upload and looking forward to next time. I'd say if u can knock 15s off your time I would genuinely be amazed!
I thought it would be smoother but not noticed any difference. Maybe I will when at the track.
@@RoadandRacetv i know diff oil change does nothing as with miles we got on our 350zs those diffs are shot. Even nissan does not have that fluid in service book. Think most do ot cause its cheap :p
Wicked videos bruv !!! God willing I’ll be getting a 350z as well
and?
Whats the correct colour for the coolant ? OEM (L250) is blue isn't it ?
So funny you mention removing the transmission fill bolt because ive been in a situation where i drained it and the fill bolt was almost stripped lol
Nice work as usual ! Top tip about removing the filler plug first - been there -nightmare !
Thanks Jon. Tell me about it!
Narration (vocals) are a fresh tune to my ears other mechanic videos why are the men raising their voices ? It makes it hard to focus
I thought you’re not supposed to add water on already diluted 50/50 coolant ?
what type of rotors are those ? they are black they look coated in somthing what is it ? do you have a link for them? thank you :)
Super job now I have seen this vid I will be doing some changes my self thanks again 👍👍🙂🙂✌️
Thanks mate. What will you do first?
Will do belts engine oil 👍✌️✌️😀
did you unplug the negative terminal of the battery before starting?
I want to see a brake flush and power steering flush
just got this sweet series in my reccomended, keep it up! youtube is noticing your efforts
Many thanks Harold.
Another quality video. Looking forward to you getting close to speedy Gonzales.
Marvellous video. Thanks very much 😊
I know this is an old video, but it would nice to see how much money you saved.
I thought that cleaning the throttle body could cause the engine to mess up a little bit?
Good video. From my own experience i always change spark plugs on a second hand car as soon as I buy it because every second hand car i bought had the wrong spark plugs fitted. After changing for the correct plugs I always noticed a big improvement.
Something so satisfying about doing such a high spec service to a vehicle. Good job on doing power steering too, often overlooked. What about brake and clutch fluid? Cabin air filter? Is that a spark plug socket without a seal inside to grip the plug? Bit silly lol but good idea with tape
Thanks mate. Yes both were changed in previous videos.
Great video as always! One thing you should buy is one of those magnetic spark plug socket. I've had a couple of spark plug sockets with those rubber things in them for many years and then I bought a magnetic one. Amazing tool and has probably been one of the best tools I've bought so far.
Great video, just one observation, I would've repeated the distilled water coolant flush a few times until only clear water comes out. It looks like you've put in an OAT coolant, not sure what came out so would be good to repeat this next time you get a chance.
Curious which race ramps you're using? Looks like the 2-piece, but couldn't tell if it was 56" or 67" version.
And also, which jack? Turns out my existing jack can't properly clear the underside of my 350 to jack up the front, even with the tyres on wooden blocks, so want to make sure I get one I know works this time!
Race Ramps 67". Sealey 2750LE Jack.
Hello. After clean throttle body do I need to relearn pedal position?
Awesome video I like how you did it in one single chug, cheers:)
Thanks Filip.
Very well done. Thank you.
Love these videos, just bought a 350z and these videos are really useful. You should bring yours to Cadwell park next season, I'll be taking mine round.
Thanks Murray. Cadwell isn't too far for me so maybe!
Quick tip ur supposed to use old oil to seal your filter it seals a lot better
the car needs to be level for transmission and Dif oil changes
Good idea that you changed power steering fluid. I boiled mine around donington haha
cartrottle takeover, very nice videos one day you will get more then 1 million subscribers
Cheers mate. So nice of you to say. That's the plan! Tell Alex I'm coming for him!
Great informative video!
how much oil did you use for the servo? thanks
Thank you. I just bought a Z and your videos have help me a lot. Mines is a 08 in Texas.
Thanks mate. Glad they were helpful.
What size oil filter socket do you use?
Do the gearbox bolts have a crusher washers?
good job!!! thanks
Perfect, thank you!
You're very good !!! Watching those videos I feel like I can repair my own car.
Thanks mate. Give it a go, it's not really that hard!
When You getting plenum spacer ?? You not put moly slip in to gearbox when changing?? No magnetic drain plug with oil change?
Nice job with flush of coolant :)
If I can pick up a spacer cheap then I'll fit it. Best I can find is £180 which is too much for such a small performance gain for me. Didn't think the Motul oil needs it. Maybe a magnetic one in the future.
get one I'w got from austrailia for 97quid shipped. took me 2 hours. Amount of crap in lower plenum loool

bro bosch? i cant take you serious
Fluidtastic, nice job 👏
Thanks as always mate.
9000 miles is a lot for an oil change
You can really see the videos getting better and better! More structure as well as great editing. Thank you! ;)
Thanks mate. Glad you've noticed the improvements.
This shows just how good the quality of your content really is. I can do all of these services on a car with my eyes closed and I don't even own a 350z yet I still watched the whole video... nice work man.
Cheers James, glad you liked it.
Good video. Sorry to see all the rust under the car though, but I reckon that is the shitty rain weather in the UK yeah? :D
Thanks. It’s likely the salt we use on the roads in the winter.
Hi can u please let me know which clips I need to use on the battery covers 350z 2006 I buy clips and have handful but can’t seem to get the right ones Thanks regards Ron Hornsea East Yorkshire 👍🙂👍
Thanks for the Vids 🤙🏼
I have a question, I took out my fans and drained the radiator because I got a new alternator but I filled up my engine coolant until it wouldn’t take anymore and took it for a drive and it overheated so I took it back home and filled it but it still overheats. What do I do? 03 350z by the way. Do I just keep filling it after driving around?
Hey, love your videos!
Some questions about the bleed process tho, #8 said to repeat step 1-6 with radiator cap installed, should i just keep on filling the refill reservoir and rev it up, and repeat untill there’s no air when i open up bleeder valve? How will the trapped air go away if i cant open up and fill direcly in the radiator? Thank you, and again, love the content, even been watching your daily bmw series even thou i dont even own one due to how much effort and love you put in to your cars! We need a channel that focuses more on older/used cars with relatively cheap fixes.
Keep it up and keep it budget friendly,
much love from Sweden 👑
we didnt get to see how she runs after that spectacular service. This mightve really set the bar for what a healthy 350z would sound/drive like.
I spent two hours changing breaks while at work too😂😂 it’s crazy when the need is great time consuming sometimes but we’ll worth it and satisfying💯👍
Where's the beemer gone ?
Really good video, preparing myself to replace my oil gallery gasket, timing chain, tensioners n guides, and all fluids as well.
I love servicing my car. Usually it's quite relaxing lol. Nice way to spend a weekend. I just replaced the steering rack boots and replaced the atf in my 370z. Planning on doing the diff next.
You really love your car
Great stuff! Keep it up!
Thanks Mo!
I used to watch your videos because I have a E93 M3. But why have I started watching them again? I think I find your screen presence down to earth and videos educational I suppose.
Good choice of engine oil. It should last 15,000 miles
Great video !!!!
Great video, if you showed the bleeding process it would be perfect.
Best learning vidéo so far on a 350Z maintenance. Great job.
I love how stock and original your 350z is :]
Amazing 350z video! I'm only 5 mins in and I had to give you a comment!
Start the plugs in by hand, don’t cross thread, bad!
There's a strong sense of disconnect with the damn exciting synth music and the narrator :D
Muito bom!
this my 3rd time trying to watch i’ve fallen asleep everytime
Gracias.
Watched this 5 times already in preparation! Great channel thanks
Hello New here on the channel From Boston/U.S just bought a 03 Touring with 125.xxx miles 2 owners no rusty, but looks like they only drove the car I think the only thing they did was oil change and brakes, just clean the Maf sensor and the throttle was so duty unbelievable, also changed the headlights was too yellow to clean next is the spark plugs and the fluids....great channel and keep up the good work!!!
Thanks mate! Glad to hear you like the channel!
Hello mate....great video! I purchased the 2004 350z roadster, surely it is the same method overall. Wanted to know the "song title or group" which started at 1:10. Really nice background music, edification and clarity of your channel! First time viewer. Thanks for sharing!
Thanks mate. So glad to hear you like the music as I wrote it!
Start plugs holding the extension by hand!!!
I would definitely put some antisieze on the spark plug threads before installing them. you can also get a spark plug socket which has a built in rubber gripper for about 5 bucks.
thanks for the vid!
