No no no!! I’m a labor & delivery nurse. Cutting an episiotomy is rare. This video makes it seem like a common part of delivery. An episiotomy can make you tear worse. It’s much easier to repair a natural tear. We only cut episiotomies in emergencies when it is clinically indicated. Again, not common practice.
actually, in some countries (I am talking for example about Europe) it is VERY common thing. Nearly every of my closest friends, that gave birth this or last yaer, were cut.
Thank you for saying this. I was cut against my wishes with my first delivery and it didn’t heal correctly, causing me pain every time I used the restroom for the next few weeks. I had a few friends give birth after me and episiotomies came up when talking birth plans and such, and I could’t speak out against unnecessary cutting enough. If baby isn’t in danger, just let mama tear!

im pregnant with my first child. i watch videos like these, idk why my mom thinks they’ll scare me but they just inform me on what I could possibly go through. I’m excited to have this kid, honestly.

You can still tear with an episiotomy and it is not commonly used to “create space so the birthing woman will not tear”. Here in the Netherlands an episiotomy is for when there is fetal distress and the baby has to get out at that moment to prevent anything worse . I also think that it is a pity they did not show any more birthing positions (like on all fours, squatting, etc.). Birthing in different positions has so many benefits because of gravity not working against you and creating more space in the pelvis. They also did not show different methods of pain relief during childbirth such as massage, Tense or even a warm bath. Sorry for my English
Shoutout to my mom for doing literal superhero stuff while she was pregnant (driving between cities, carrying a mattress into the house by herself, taking "pregnant people aren't sick people" to another level) so I came out easily 2 weeks before the due date lmao. She REFUSED to have a c-section because she was like: "I wanna remember what it's like."
Natural tears, according to the health care system where I live are NOT harder to heal and are the preferred method. Episiotomies are not performed unless necessary.
@@florentyna2372 can you request to tear naturally. I gave birth a week ago and have a second degree tear and haven't found it bad at all as far as healing goes.
That seriously should be considered violence against women. Some doctors just do it because they want to make it faster. God, women should get more respect, specially when they're giving birth to a child. And unless the child and the mother are in danger, the cut should be considered violence.
Maybe a video longer than two minutes would be more appropriate. There are so many more options and evidence-based facts around birth. Plus: not everyone heads to the hospital or has a doctor attend their birth.
Deenie McQueen yeah my mom didn’t make it in time I was born at my house. And my dad took me out since the ambulance didn’t make it in time... but if they did put that in the video, I think the population would decrease
I really dislike this video. Episiotomy 🤦🏻♀️ Flat on back during active labour🤦🏻♀️ the only thing I liked was they had her eating during early labour at least and showing the crowning was fine haha
I'm 8 months pregnant with my second. I was so terrorized of vaginal birth that I decided to have an elective c-section for my first. It was painless and pretty good. But now that I am less afraid would like to try natural birth (WITH ANESTHESIA), so that I can live both. So I am practicing and training for it. But I have to confess: those videos are kinda changing my mind. Lol Well, I only have a few days to decide now. Wish me luck!
My water didn't break when I was about to give birth and I was pushing my baby's head out for 5 freaking hours. Thank God I manage to stay alive and my little one is healthy ❤
Let your doctor know how your feeling post partum. My mom had post partum depression, and she didn't understand what it was or get it treated and I'm pretty sure it affected her for the rest of her life.
I’m 17 and had my baby a month ago and honestly labor and birth isn’t as bad as It looks, for me the recovery was soooooo much worse, but labor and birth and recovery is different for everyone so don’t judge by this video.

desi escondida I'm doing it again for the third time next year
@@marinatraverso9288 You'll be fine ♥
Marina Mancilla Traverso all the pain is SO worth it, I promise! Everyone handles their pain different I’m just a weenie lmao.
random chicks music congrats & good luck! I wish you a safe labor & healthy baby 💛
I definitely will always remember that "ring of fire" sensation for sure. I gave birth 4 weeks ago so everything is definitely still fresh and raw,but I have a feeling that even after my recovery I'll still remember that burning sensation
I sincerely hope the Dr NEVER cuts an episiotomy like that......EVER
Exactly -- episiotomies are ONLY to be performed WHEN NECESSARY, and the cut MUST be made obliquely, NEVER down the midline!
Man, I want three kids but I don't know if I'm gonna survive this 3 times... XD
Grumpycat 123 its hard but worth it I have two myself have miscarried 3 times and am carrying another right now
@@annak804 Congrats!!!
@@annak804 woah. I'm shook. :)
Grumpycat 123 good luck to you in your desire for little ones =)
@@annak804 I've always wanted to be a mum :)
im pregnant with my first child. i watch videos like these, idk why my mom thinks they’ll scare me but they just inform me on what I could possibly go through. I’m excited to have this kid, honestly.
How are you now?:)
how are you and your baby now??
@@asna5824 he’s 8 months old! we’re perfect, he’s such an amazing kid
@@ETH4NPECK how did it feel??? Like the video??
How old are you? *if you don’t mind me asking*
After ten years, I may be a mother. Hahahahaha Although I am only 14 years old now, 😂I have to feel that my mother is really great. My mother’s love goes beyond everything! I love my mother!🌹

I am 15 but still I want to give birth
I'm 31 and I'm not ready yet.
But do me a favor... please wait until you're in a stable relationship and have a stable income (and be an *adult* ) to have kids. You don't want to miss out on youth being a parent already when you have the choice nowadays to wait.
C-Section kids be like: wHaT aBoUt Us
Mhm 🙋♀️
They made a c-section video as well
mhm, me:
I am one of them
After seeing this my love for mom increased infinitely
Me:I swear its the last video
Also me:watches childbirth in 2 minutes video at 4 am.
I’m 19 and have been having major baby fever. Thought watching this video might help tone it down a bit 😅
I proud of every single mom
Like the pain they go through to have a child. If men say their strong i likr to see them go through this
*winks* You got this!
NO I REALLY DON’T
Shoutout to my mom for doing literal superhero stuff while she was pregnant (driving between cities, carrying a mattress into the house by herself, taking "pregnant people aren't sick people" to another level) so I came out easily 2 weeks before the due date lmao. She REFUSED to have a c-section because she was like: "I wanna remember what it's like."
Natural tears, according to the health care system where I live are NOT harder to heal and are the preferred method. Episiotomies are not performed unless necessary.
in my country 80% women have done episiotomies. it scares me to death
@@florentyna2372 can you request to tear naturally. I gave birth a week ago and have a second degree tear and haven't found it bad at all as far as healing goes.
@@maddiebemrose8371 I'm 10 months late but congrats what is he or she name?
That seriously should be considered violence against women. Some doctors just do it because they want to make it faster. God, women should get more respect, specially when they're giving birth to a child. And unless the child and the mother are in danger, the cut should be considered violence.
this doesn't even cover doc's bullying you
random chicks music how?
I love how creative these videos are.
why do i feel nauseous
Same lmao
It's a messy process, you wouldn't be the first lol, some people even faint during child birth XD
I feel hungry
OMG sameeee i felt like throwing up...
Maybe you're pregnant 😂
Lol im here and i dont know why 12
Nothing wrong with educating yourself :D
to know what happens if you forget the condoms in the far away future.
Rooiku lmao facts 😂😂

God this comment is so over used on these videos. Watch it for information god.
This video is the best method of birth control
I still don't want kids but good for all the women that do.
ShaeƧΉΛΣѕнαє Annalese it is your decision don’t let someone tell you otherwise
I don’t understand why I’m watching this...
I watch this to remind myself to not have children.
Marisa Kimberly it was a joke...? Insane maybe?
Me too I don't know wth I'm watching
This is gonna be me tomorrow ان شاء الله
Women you are the best thing in this world ❤💖

I can look after my self, but some respect will be welcome thank you very much😄
Sad that barely happens woman
ok I changed my mind about having kids
J-HopeIsMyHope lol Army XD
Army 😂 💜
Armyyy
@trix o the most scary part is episiotomy
That part scares me!all of a sudden i dont want kids
Deenie McQueen so true.. they’re also showing that cutting the cord immediately after is okay and healthy🤦🏻♀️
Everyone watching this video should read these comments! I can't believe how many wrong info there are in a 2 minutos long video
Lol
Well, I only have a few days to decide now. Wish me luck!
Good luck!!you can do this🤗🤗(a virtual hug)
how did it go? are you alright?
My water didn't break when I was about to give birth and I was pushing my baby's head out for 5 freaking hours. Thank God I manage to stay alive and my little one is healthy ❤
*The pain of giving birth feels like every bone in your body breaking.*
the girl is so beautiful !
Raising a child is more painful for me , -> just finished the bedtime routine 5 minutes ago with 3 years old toddler
I feel you! Birthing them was the easy part! I have a 2 and 4 yr old 😂
Yes 😂 giving birth is way easier than trying to sooth a very colicky 2 month old
NayLouise24 oh girl!! God bless you , you are a hero 🦸♀️
well you got this!
Brooklyn Olive ✌🏻❤️
these 2mins videos are one of the best things that ever happened on the internet! THANK YOU SO MUCH
Respect to the moms who have more than one kid.
I legit forgot how to breath while watching this, Imagin if I was actually giving birth!!! 🙃😨
This sounds like too much, I might just adopt😭💀
Kaulani • it’s different for everyone, but for me I really forgot the pain just minutes after each of my boys was born!
Kaulani • same I cant go through this
Don't adopt as the "easy way out"
I’m so excited to become a mom someday❤️
How I read the title: giving birth to aliens in 2 minutes
Let your doctor know how your feeling post partum. My mom had post partum depression, and she didn't understand what it was or get it treated and I'm pretty sure it affected her for the rest of her life.
Love mom
just by watching this, im already terrified
That feeling when you have to pause every second just to read cuz the video is too fast haha.
Plz respect mom! God bless our mom!
When they performed the episiotomy, I really felt that
I’m 17 and had my baby a month ago and honestly labor and birth isn’t as bad as It looks, for me the recovery was soooooo much worse, but labor and birth and recovery is different for everyone so don’t judge by this video.
I love this series , so educational ❤
