I'm glad you're using your platform to educate that Labour and delivery is not all rainbows and butterflies. We are not just cuddling babies all day. There are life threatening emergencies for both mom and baby where we act fast.

Thank you for being a Neonatal Nurse. My daughters Mother had some great ones when the decision was made to with a C section they moved very quickly. You are one of many heroes I salute for being there when the chips are down for all expectant Mother's. My wife at that time had a deformity of her uterus that was unknown until the birth of our Daughter. She had a heart shaped Uterus that also had a thin wall of muscle directly in the middle. Our Daughter basically ran out of room to grow and her water broke 6 weeks early, our daughter was also breach they found out so the decision was made for both of their safety to do the C section. I am forever grateful to the Doctors, Nurses, and attendants that were there that night/ early morning and they saved both of their lives in my opinion.

Yes! As a former L&D nurse i feel you did an excellent job at showing both the scary and beautiful parts of birth. We always hoped that people always experienced the joy and labour of love of childbirth, but that if people did hit bumps in the road they had the passionate, committed, caring, and capable help they needed to have the best outcome possible.

I was terrified to give birth. But when the time comes, your body know what to do. I know it's cheesy, but the first time you see them, hear their first cry and hold them; nothing else matters and it was all worth it. Just enjoy every second of it. Even the sleepless nights. Because time really does fly. Wishing you a safe delivery and a happy, healthy baby.

I have had 8 babies. Women are made for childbirth and you will get through this. Just stay calm and walk through early labour. Even just studying about how your body works in labour will help. I studied plenty during pregnancy. It helped me to be confident in my body's ability to give birth. Also, take a childbirth class even if it's just a video class. Lamaze may be old fashioned, but it helped me get through much of the labour by controlling my breathing. Also, reading "Ina May's Guide to Childbirth" helped me to labour more effectively.

@@omar4713what’s so surprising about her age? You know most girls can get pregnant at 9 or 12 years old, because most of them being sexually abused. And other girls/teen girls they don’t care about schools, future life careers etc, they party, do drugs and have sex when they’re too young to be doing that because not many kids are responsible to become a mother yet….. And I mean sometimes I don’t agree for a 16 year old girl to have sex and get pregnant because for me she’s still a kid and has not yet developed to be mature, now I didn’t say all girls just most of them, but I know most kids at that age they still learning about new life beginnings learning to be mature, independent becoming better parents than most adults. And you know a 13 or 14 year old can too..
But it still saddens me and breaks my heart because they are still kids and kids having kids..
I don’t know if to say oh it’s a precious moment if a kid/teen girl had given birth but has successfully become a great mother with great education and responsibilities than most adult women….
While other girls they do the unthinkable actions if that makes sense like, living a negative life, because of sex drugs, drinking partying etc and not going to school, they gave birth but don’t care about their newborn or their children …

Don't let your family ever say that to you. 'You'll change your mind'. You wouldn't say that to someone who is planning on having kids. And being young doesn't diminish your choice either. Your video today is inspiring because your showing the truth and your overcoming a fear that I share. I hope and pray that you continue to spread the truth and bring light to people who are always overshadowed. Here's the deal. I just gave birth literally last week in one of those crazy stories you hear people tell at the grocery store to poor unsuspecting pregnant moms. I woke up 0 contractions but my water breaking and less than two hours later he was born. I had no pain relief options. They were still trying to get an iv in while he was crowning and the doctor almost didn't make it to the birth (middle of the night). If you had told me I was going to have to do that I would have had a panic attack and knew there was no way I could. But I did it. You have the grace to do things you never thought you could do in the moment you are called upon to do them.

Please respect their fears and their time to do something, and definitely still love them if they choose to not have a baby. If you can't, let them go so they can find a partner who will respect them this much.

Kids are a major dealbreaker in relationships, and it is 100% ok to break up with her because you don't share the same values. It doesn't you mean you don't love her or respect her. My mum is a general surgeon, and speaking to her recently, she told me how one of the specialties she originally thought about doing was OB-GYN. She said that she quickly realized she couldn't do it, because she wouldn't be able to stand how those parents' happiest day of their lives could so easily change to the absolute worst. With what she's doing now, she still has to perform C-sections every now and then, and she says it's always so beautiful, and the mums are always so strong regardless of what happens. These mothers and their doctors are absolute heroes.

I had my son almost 5 years ago and am currently 4 months pregnant with my first baby girl. Labor and birth is crazy, but it is worth every single second of pain. I actually found pregnancy harder than the birth itself because I was in a ton of pain my entire pregnancy but contractions only last so long. Yes they suck,
But they stop after about a minute. And let’s not forget the beauty that is an epidural ❤ I LOVED mine.

    • @annelisebreman8801
      @annelisebreman8801 7 месяцев назад +4

I had the same experience. I was so mentally and physically prepared for the birth I ended up having, that it was a push but pretty much a breeze. It was 25 hrs (from the start of regular painful contractions 5 min apart) with 4 hrs of pushing. I got the epidural a couple hours after 6cm. Totally manageable. I struggled a lot more postpartum, because I wasn’t prepared mentally for the sleep deprivation and the extreme exhaustion and no experience with how to care for a newborn. It was glorious when baby reached 3 months. I got pregnant unexpectedly again though, but first trimester and 4 month sleep regression are still better than early postpartum for me.

Michelle this one got me! I had placenta previa at 29 weeks and was admitted for 3 days, preparing an emergency c-section. Thankfully my daughter held on 10 more weeks but I was on mandatory bed rest which impacted my ability to work a job I had started that same year. Then at 39 weeks my daughter was born but I hemorrhaged because of the placenta previa and required a blood transfusion and almost had a hysterectomy. I can't remember much of my labor and delivery because of this but I recalled telling myself if I died it wouldn't be fair. I've had endometriosis since 14 and at the time of my delivery already experienced 2 miscarriages and 1 ectopic pregnancy. So my daughter was a miracle from God and there was no way I wasn't going to see her grow up.
Well today she is 8 years old, turning 9 in November and was able to watch this video with me. I got to explain everything that transpired during her birth through your video. I nearly cried. Since then my daughter has had her own testimony having been diagnosed with Hip Displaysia at birth and Nephrotic Syndrome at age 2. But I just want to leave you with this reminder. The stories written for our lives on this earth were written to impact and transform lives. It's our decision if we share it or not, but you gave your mom a voice to tell her story through you today and there's no greater empowerment, especially from your child. God bless you Michelle!

Although nurses were shown, I would love to see a video dedicated to the field and possibly different scenarios of each type of patient within the given field. As students, we have "Simulations" where we conduct "real-life" scenarios with different types of patients and their different disease processes. I would love to see Michelle conduct some of those scenarios. It is very rewarding but it is also very challenging and it will be interesting for those to see what we learn and go through each day. Congratulations on becoming a Godmother Michelle!! Thats epic🎉🎉🎉🎉I didn't know you and your mom went through that. Thank God you made it, because you are bringing so much joy to those around you. Your mother is so brave and loving, you are truly blessed sis. Thank you to all of the moms out there, and congratulations to the mothers in this video, its so awesome to see the process of what moms go through and for some reason seeing it does make you a little less afraid of the time when it comes. I didnt realize how much goes into bringing us into this world. Great job Michelle. Keep sharing joy and awareness with others, who knows maybe a baby Michelle or Garrett will come into the family "Baby Accepted"😂. For real though, I pray that you continue to stay encouraged and have an awesome rest of your day. P.s. I challenge you to join a hurricane rescue team. God bless 👋🙏💕

she’s practically been everything, but I think that so far being the godmother of a child is the best one yet!

Michelle, this def has to be one of my fav videos! Thank you for being your courageous self in doing this video! As a minimal mom who once was also scared of giving birth, I would highly recommend you to consider doing a video in Midwifery. I was going to deliver at a hospital but after some research and lots of mental prep, I opted for a midwife + home birth. You doing a video about women who opted for homebirth would serve as another perspective and I can guarantee you it will also be empowering.

Dear Michelle, I am always inspired by every challenge you accept, I believe you will be a great mother some day and Garret will be and incredible Father (I just see that in his eyes and in his love for you). Being a parent will probably be one of the greatest challenges you will ever accept, and I am sure that all the training in the world could not prepare for you for the unique challenges you may experience, but you are more than capable, you are strong, you are courageous, you will be a great Mom! Here's to you!

That is so amazing that they asked for you to be her godmother. Even such little time spent together, many trust has been given.
