It was because of these scandals that they officially had to put a rule in place in 1959 that made it illegal to rig a game show. It took a while after this for any show legitimately and honestly tried to give away big bucks. In fact, the original version of Jeopardy in 1964 with Art Fleming was one of the first successful quizzes after the scandals, though with lower dollar amounts. The first round had clue values of $10 to $50 in increments of ten, while Double Jeopardy had them from $20 to $100 in increments of twenty. The original version would be on the air for just over a decade.

I ONLY watched this when it came out, because during HS, I had a class called 'Current Events' and each week we'd cover everything that happened each year starting with 1954 to the 70's (Music, Politics, Movies, Pop Culture). My teacher was really big on this scandal and loved the MtK song. Overall, it's a decent film, but you kind of have to be into Game Shows, History, or scandals to appreciate it.
