    I mispronounced his name another way for years (in the '90s and '00s). Growing up I thought people were referring to him as "Ray Finnes." :D

    I'm English from up north Yorkshire and never ever heard of this tradition of pronouncing it rafe must be a southern thing

      It wasn't a regional thing, but rather a practice followed only by some families. One such Ralph, Sir Ralph Lewis Wedgwood, was born in Staffordshire.
