Great points! Never ever leave with out a helmet! And also having visible, colourful colours is a great idea. I use black gear way too often, but I do have some reflectors to compensate 😅

I ride with a helmet (fav cooler weather is the tsg pass), gloves …that’s my safety gear. I don’t ride for fun, i ride as a form of transportation. Anyone who rides, or desires to ride for fun should gear up. I ride my escooter just to arrive somewhere conveniently. I’ve never ridden an euc, but i love its form factor, small, range, and the hands free factor. I was ready to buy when a 16” had suspension by a company that put out well engineered quality that’s been reviewed by folks like Wrong Way. Also held off wondering if i could react quick enough in an emergency. I rode a “rice burner”motorcycle, zx14, both ways, commuting and fun, i really had lots of safety gear. I now use my pev like i would a bicycle, helmet and gloves. Fun riders really need to listen to wrong way. As a commuter, i ride at a safe speed, not fast enough to come up on a road obstacle and be surprised. My helmets do have built in visors, a bug or kicked up pebble from a car getting into the eyes is a real hazard not to mention wind driven pollen. My ride lower than 25mph (second gear, no reason to go to high plus i get more range) on open road and slower when things get busy. The most important thing I ride with is experience. I ride looking for what I think is going to happen, my eyes sees small things that drivers start to do before turning, changing lanes, etc so i slow down and let them. Many drivers only see where they want to go, nothing else, even a bright red car next to them is unknown. Many motorcycle riders rev or put loud pipes or even remove the baffling on their bikes to be heard. So as a pev rider I accept that I simply am invisible. Other than gloves with a little palm padding for comfort, i wear my normal clothing. I live in an urban setting, finding parking is ridiculous, as can be traffic so I prefer my pev to my car. I ride bike lanes, i added a mirror to go with my peripheral vision, and i believe everyone should get their experience level raised, respect the road, assume you are not seen even by the guy in parked car opening his door or the pedestrian walking between parked cars into the street.
For balaclavas, I would recommend Phunkshun because they have wrap and balaclavas in various levels (sun to winter snow) and in several colors/designs. The cap/mask work well for me, but the mask/neck cover ones runs a little small in same size in my opinion because it’s harder to stay on with just the ears holding them in place. That’s my recommendation after trying to find something that works for my needs
Hi Adam, thanks for the video, for winter gear i use cashmere or merino turtleneck as base layer and a goose down jacket for isolation, it keeps me warm for a weather around 0 degrees, i also use merino tights, socks and leather boots. the goal is being warm and keeping the weight as minimal as possible, i put my protective gear on top, i try to select protective gear that are easy to put on and off.
Thanks for doing this I had to find out the hard way, but for scooter riding you are typically okay with MTB protection gear. There are two things which you kinda of touched on but will mention now the first is riding jeans which is definatley a must for me, and the second is a rear red light on the top of your helmet, it makes a huge diffierence to how visible you are. Thanks for the tip about covering vents. Super helpful video thanks.
Heya if you get time, may want to look into CE ratings for protective gear, just been researching impact forces and how they correspond to CE ratings don't think i would ever buy less than CE lever 2 for riding a a fast scooter.
Good video: just what I was looking for. I have an O’Neil motorcycle helmet and an IXS trigger full face mountain bike helmet for enduro. You are right, the motorcycle helmet is too heavy, and the vision is limited compared to my other. I usually wear Fox gloves all the time. Have a pair for everything. But I did just order gloves with knuckle guards and finger guards. . I just got my EMove Cruiser two days ago. It is way more scooter than I need power wise. I am a 55 years young lady. I tried My mountain bike full face helmet and it is safer for sure and has very good air flow! And great wide vision area. The gif lock is great! It’s Light so my neck won’t hurt. I won’t ride much in the winter but the summer is hot so wear fox pads and motorcycle pants. Also wearing a high visibility reflective vest! Bright neon yellow.
I would of thought it's just common sense what you need to ride a scooter but, very informative video. I have regular skating knee pads but, your absolutely right. Shin guards as well much more helpful. Thanks! Great video! 👍
Great info! I am still looking for gear that will get me to work dry should I ride to work in the rain. I find a good quality rain suit easily enough but the helmet set up is of the most concern to keep rain out. Cheers
If you buy a downhill MTB fullface helmet (which are cheaper than a decent motorcycle helmet) cover the vents with some electrical tape for the winter or rainy weather and remove the tape for summer riding 🤘
What would you recommend for knee and elbow protection for summer time? Should it be hard shell guards, or d3o soft pads? One is hard on impact but helps sliding, the other absorbing impact but will get ripped or slide off knees🤔 I was looking into: Leatt dual axis, or Fox Titan - for hard shell And Demon hyper x, or Fox launch d3o - for soft one Please help to make a right decision 🙏🏻
D3O is the way ahead. Take it from a motorcylist. I wear kevlar lined demin jeans with D30 pads in knees and hips. You can get slip on D3O pads with elasticated sleeves now. Hard shell pads may split on impact and could break your skin around the edges leading to secondary whereas D3Os will absorb initial impact and may slip when sleeved leading to abrasion injuries. If the pads are fitted in say kevlar jeans then there should be limited movement if its properly fitted. Maybe get cut off kevlar jean shorts? Just my opinions but whatever you choose: safe riding 🤘
Hello I want a light helmet for my rides for the dualtron which do u recommend because I look back at cars and stuff like that but I don't want it to be heavy and not get tired of wearing it
I am having problem with the helmet purchase now. What circumference of head u have and what is size of your o'niells helmet? I have 58cm but my head hurts very much and even size L seems a bit tight... weird. I noticed u have single foam in your first red helmet.
I don't understand why off-road/down-hill/adventure style helmets are so popular with scooters. I use a jet helmet (Laxer Tango Hexa) and is perfect. Light, maximal visibility, sun vistor...
I disagree on the lightning, you have to keep in mind that your not the only driver on the road and can blind other people with your lights. Dualtron and Weped are the first I expect to get specific laws just because they look exactly like what isn't allowed on cars due to distraction etc.
Decent lights are important. If you're going to buy after market lights just make sure you aim them down and not to dazzle other toad users; otherwise you may blind them and they could crash into you
I just use my motorcycle gear when i am driving my electric scooter, but i have bought a dirt bike helmet since i don’t want to use my motorcycle helmet on my electric scooter
I want to get a full face, but I have a strong feeling if I’m wearing a full face on my e scooter there’s a bigger chance I’ll e stopped by a cop... if I wear a regular one the cops won’t know that my scooter can go up to 60 mph lol
I just fucked up my chin and my teeth only going 15 mph, but I hit some mud and the scooter slid out the side of me. Please fellow watchers, get a full face helmet.
Thanks for the shout out in this one. Super useful information here, ride safe! ⚡️💪
Great points! Never ever leave with out a helmet! And also having visible, colourful colours is a great idea. I use black gear way too often, but I do have some reflectors to compensate 😅
This is exactly the info I was looking for, man. I've been looking for a breakdown on what's available in helmets and why.
Thank you. I can never express how important protective gear is wether on electric scooter or motorcycle. Thank you again for sharing.

Wise words and ditto. I commute on a Burn-E 2 Max or on my Bandit 1200 motorbike but sensibly and considerately are the key words 🤘
Thank you a lot for your appreciated reviews and tips.

as an introvert person i hate wearing colors that stands out in the crowd and i get noticed, i just add more blinkers on my body / helmet
Also a good idea :)

great info the word you were looking for is a 'visor' or peak ' hope that helps as you have helped me soo much xD great job thank you @Wrong Way
Great advice, outdated but still relevant. Maybe next time add links or list the kit so peeps can google. Safe riding 🤘
I was just gonna get legit motorcycle gear, sounds like the easiest and best options
A downhill MTB helmet and goggles would be cheaper than a decent motorcycle skid lid. Unless you already have one.
Great info!

Where's the link to the mtb downhill helmet bro?
I wear prescription glasses. Do you know any goggles that allow for prescription glasses? Thanks in advance!
Hi! You should really try the helmet. Fit is one the most important aspects of security.
I ride my 5/10 Mtb shoes they are crazy grip and litle bord tape and it's not going nowhere

So having an bright orange fox proframe helmet is good in your eyes lam with you
Model of the goggles please?
Also the heated gloves?

Hi, what size of Leatt Dual Axis Knee Guards you use?
Hey what's the name of the colorful helmet that you had on the beginning i like it!

Where can I buy that exact Oakley helmet
Hi guys, new EUC rider here. With regards to knee protection, are knee or shin pads sufficient, or does anyone recommend knee braces? Cheers.
Which O’Neal helmet is that? Their website has so many that look the same.
It's the Oneil Backflip...color is Muerta. I think they quit making them though :(
@@PottersWork thank You
@@BattleRidesNYC, no problem! I was pretty bummed they aren’t making them anymore. I like it a lot too!

Hi. Is a Fox Proframe good enough for a mid to higher tier electric kick scooter?
Depends on the speeds really. Over 40-45 kmh I would suggest a motorcycle helmet
Where did you got the wrist mirror I saw with you in some of your videos?
I bought it locally in Poland. Could be available as atv hand/wrist mirror?
What type of gear to wear if riding a 23 mph e scooter?
