    I was always confused by this b/c I don't think we really care what speed limit the helmets are rated as for the rider to be traveling as much as we care about being hit by a car and/or go flying. Impact level or strength from a height seem to be more valuable/relevant ratings which no one really tests. Thanks for sharing the ratings so thoroughly. Yours may be one of the best I've seen. Great info and well edited too. Keep at it.

    This video should be viewed way pass 800 (as of the time this comment is posted), great job on concluding all the nasty standards and differences in such a short video.
    Sth worth noting is:
    1. aside from Mips, there's now the Mips integra (on the fox proframe RS), as well as WaveCel from Bontrager. Both will withstand a crash below 28mph.
    2. There's also differences in usecase, as for example: the ASTM F1952 is for DownHill, and F2032 is more for BMX. Depend on the riding situation, should follow different standards.
    3. I personally find that most popular helmet among ESK8 and EUC rider are the TSG as well as the Predator. While both are decent DH helmet, neither of them are as good as a similar priced offering from brand like Fox, POC, Smith and GIRO. (Yes, they do look cooler)
    There should also be a note on adding accessories on the helmet. Like a action Cam, or Shredlight (which lots like to use to just randomly stick on to the helmet shell. Those will impact the safety when crashing. (mainly rotational)
    A short term I always follow: NTA 8776 for commute, and for Group Rides: ASTM F1952/F2032 for Full Face Non Moto, ECE 22.06 for Moto helmet.
    And one other note: helmet is just the least u need to worry about, there's the upper body protection (especially collar bone & elbow) as well as the knee protection. If money no issue, Daniese D-air is the thing everyone should buy.

    Thanks for this Lando. I hope people have taken notes for when they go out and buy a new helmet. The really funny thing is that you can get 4 proper ECE motorcycle helmets for the price of 1 TSG helmet.
    Personally I have 5 different helmets that I use for different purposes, ranging from a normal bicycle helmet up to an ECE fullface motorcycle helmet.

      If you're in the 40mph and up usually, you def need a moto helmet. I'm in the process of looking for one to replace my TSG. I now have PMTs and speed damper to hit 60 so I need to be prepared! Ride safe!

    I don't know if I just missed it, but I didn't catch the name and model of the helmet on the left. Anyone know what that is or if it's suitable for scooters? Primarily the Inokim OX. Been looking for TSG alternatives that's light weight but got visors and don't cost two arms and half a leg.

    • @landocycle

      @@landocycleHow do you like it for your PEV? I have a TSG but I ride at 40 to 50 mph so yeah, I need a MC helmet. I just don't want something too heavy.

    • @landocycle
      @landocycle  5 месяцев назад +1

      @@jessa.3857 I didn’t find it too heavy. If weight is a concern, I would shy away from thermoplastics and look for fibreglass or carbon fibre shells.
