Yes I think the new challengers must try to play the same calendar as the 3 big guys previously to R Garros, but they choose to oplay the previous week and they lack of energy for F Open. That is why nobody can beat Nadal, he always rests the previous week. It is a great advantage for him to play weaken rivals.

I feel sad for Domi. He had such a tough draw, he just came back from the US Open, then went through the first 3 difficult RG encounters in straight sets, which was really remarkable, then did two extremely tough and long matches while having/recovering from a stomach flu. I think he won, because Thiem was tired since his win in New York. He tried to recover by winning fast the first matches, but already the 5 set match against the wizard of drop shots (Hugo Gaston) destroyed his believe in winning the tournament. Imagine he had won this match in 4 sets and faces Nadal then in this condition. He would have been eliminated like 2-6 0-6 0-6. He is simply overplayed and needs time to rest before being able to play on his highest level again.

So good. I like the sportsmanship of tennis! He can accept the other player's win, but I'm sure he's not going to accept his mistakes. And he shouldn't - he will work to imrpove. Unfortunately Thiem started when Fed, Nadal and Djokovic were still so dominant. It's been tough to break.
